Chapter 43: First encounter.

(MC POV)

Stepping out of the portal I found myself standing above the sea, a small distance from me I saw a frozen landscape. In the direction of the frozen land, corrupted spirits were all around. Suddenly my Reiatsu went out of control shooting out in all directions, causing a multi colored spiritual energy pillar to be blasted up. Lighting up the night sky the energy was like a shining beacon for all to see. The eruption of Reiatsu seemed to purify the spirits, and one by one they bowed their heads as low as their bodies would allow. Half a minute later I regained control of my power. Stopping it it from blasting outwards. The after effects of this phenomenon, was a beautiful aurora.

'Keiser what was that?'

{That would be your authority as Soul King Awakening. Just its way of announcing its presence to all spiritual beings. If you consentrate you should be able to sense all spirits in this plane. All of them across the world are now aware of your presence.}

'Is this gonna happen everytime I travel.'

{No, it was only properly Awakening now as there are powerful spiritual beings in this world. When you travel in the future. You'll just feel authority over souls.}

'Good to know. Can you tell me what year it is.' I said pulling out a disk shaped device and examining it.

{It is currently late 99 AG (After Genocide) during winter.}

Noding I activated the device causing a holographic detailed map to appear. Examining the entire map I was quite intrigued, this thing wasn't normal it only showed a large radius around me at the moment, however it could even show me the location of nearby living beings. This is done by a small holografic image of the person mimicking their real counterpart.

{Would you like to merge with the map?}

'If it's possible go for it.'

The map turned into light particles before entering my body.

With the process completion, a small Grand Theft Auto styled map appeared at the bottom left side of my vision. This map was fully within my control appearing and dissappearing at a thought. Although I could no longer see living beings on the small map it could expand. When I expand it, it projects itself before me working simular to its previous form.

Looking at the map I saw a giant figure was beneath me. My eyes turned towards the specific spot. Moments later, A giant island rose from the depths of the sea. This island kept getting bigger and bigger at a great speed. When the island was completely visible, a large pair of blue eyes were looking straight at me. Seemingly studying me. Seeing this I dissapeard and appeared right in front of the creature. The water beneath me stirred and what I presume to be its finger was extended to allow me a place to stand. Landing Atop it, I bowed my head slightly and spoke.

"Yhwach pays respect to the ancient one."

The creature before me was a lion turtle, it wasn't the one the avatar met. This surprised me greatly, as I thought they were extinct. Then again when one thinks about it, how could humans actually manage to kill the very beings who gave them their power. The turtles have massive amounts of energy as well as the ability to enter the spirit world, if humans followed only their spiritual bodies would follow, causing loss of bending.

With a light chuckle the being spoke, "Your power isn't one that can be cultivated in a mere few decades. You would be ancient as well, correct?"

"More or less" I replied, shrugging my shoulders.

"So what brings the Ancient One to me?"

"The massive amounts of energy that is far above my own drew me to you.

I wanted to witness who could possess such power."

"I see, hope I have not disappointed your expectations."

"Not at all, the opposite in fact, I can sense another unique energy within you. It feels like the union of the spiritual as well as the physical. Truly an interesting one."

I was honestly supprised he sensed my Chakra as well, immediately being able to see through its very nature. Then again who was before me, the greatest masters of energy manipulation, an ancient one, it would actually be Stranger if he didn't sense it. However I wasn't planning on confirming it for him. My supprise never reached my face simply giving him a light smile.

"Seems luck is on my side. May I make a request of you?" I asked.

"You may." the ancient one answered.

"Please teach me the ancient and lost art of energy bending, and connect me with the four elements."

He seemed surprised at my request. After some time of silence he finally spoke.

"Very well, I will grant it to you, however, a connection with the four elements isn't something the human body can withstand. The Avatar is capable of it as he is part spirit, due to his merging with Raava."

With a smile I spoke, "That shouldn't be a problem. I am not a simple human either."

The turtle nodded and raised his other arm extending two fingers, one placed on my forehead the other upon my heart.

"It is an art that came from a era before the Avatar, We bent not the elements, But The energy within ourselves. To bend another's energy, your own spirit must be unbendable, or you will be corrupted and destroyed."

A bright green light exploded from the two points of contact.

After an unknown period of time, the Lion Turtle placed me on a passing Iceberg.

"If fate allows, may we meet again, Yhwach."

After his words he began sinking into the water.

'I wonder if I offered to take them with me would they agree. Having a mobile stronghold would be advantageous. And I can check if they would be just as skilled at using other energies. I also wanna see a baby lion turtle. Well I'll ask them before I leave. Maybe grab their bloodline while I'm at it.' I thought, looking at the water were the creature was before. From my memories he was probably the water element lion turtle. That would also explain why it could move freely underwater. The one with the air element could fly, so this is to be expected.

My mind quickly wondered off, thinking of all the unique livestock that this world had to offer, the chance of advancing my cooking. This quickly came to a stop I just realized I had no clue were I was. From the Ice I thought it was safe to assume I was most likely in one of the poles.

'Alright, according to the map I should be in the South Pole.'

'Wait a minute did you say, it was winter of 99 AG?'

{Correct.}

'If that's the date doesn't that mean, the spiritual pillar from earlier would be attracting the attention of that guy, as he should be close by at this time?'

{Yeah, and he's closing in fast.}

Looking around, I saw a Fire Nation ship heading my way at a relatively fast speed. Using my Byakugan, my pupils turned white, and veins bulged besides my eyes. On the ship there was a teen with a scar on the left side of his face. He was holding a telescope looking straight at me.

"Speak of the devil." I said.
