Elizabeth sat on the couch, holding her guitar tightly. Her dad, sitting across from her, had a curious look on his face.

"So, tell me, Elizabeth. Why do you seem so happy today?" her dad asked

Elizabeth took a deep breath and smiled. "Well, Dad, I have some great news. I'm going to be entering a guitar competition!"

Her Dad's face lit up with excitement. "That's wonderful, Elizabeth! But how did you manage that?"

Elizabeth hesitated for a moment before answering. "Well,, Alex, and he helped me to get registered for the competition. He's been really supportive of my music and I couldn't have done it without him."

Her dad eyebrows raised in surprise. "Oh really? And who is this Alex?"

"The one from the hospital?

"He's just a friend," Elizabeth said with a shrug.

Her dad chuckled. "Well, he sounds like quite the friend. You should be grateful to have someone like that supporting you."

"I am, Dad. I really am."

As they continued to chat, Elizabeth's phone pinged with a notification. She looked down to see that it was a message from Alex.

"Hey, Elizabeth. I'm making dinner tonight. Would you like to come over?"

Elizabeth's heart skipped a beat. She couldn't help but grin from ear to ear.

"dad,do you mind if I go to Alex's place tonight for dinner?" she asked, already knowing the answer.

Her dad smiled. "Of course not, dear. Just make sure to thank him again for all of his help with the competition."

Elizabeth nodded and quickly sent a message back to Alex, accepting his invitation with enthusiasm.

As she prepared to leave her Dad's house, Elizabeth felt grateful for the opportunity to share her success with someone who had always supported her. And at the same time, she felt excited to spend the evening with someone who had become such an important part of her life.
