Chapter Nine

After a painful weekend, Sansali resumed work as usual with a busy schedule.

It was a very busy week for Sansali due to work duties as well as work at her brother's wedding.

Even a little Sansali didn't have any idea that the days would pass with light heart, is going to be tuff in the future coming nearby.

Sansali woke up on Friday morning as usually prepared breakfast with Kamal, finished washing her clothes, got dressed, and left for work in a light mind.

As usual, Sansali stepped into her cabin while greeting everyone in the company.

As usual, Sansali put her bag on the sofa in the cabin and walked over to the framed photo that was kept beside her table. Sansali rubbed it in her hand and wished it a good morning. Sansali put it back where it was and sat down in her comfortable chair.

Sansali ranged the bell on the table and called Piyasiri. Piyasiri entered the cabin with a smiling face and stood humbly near Sansali's table until she spoke.

"Uncle Piyasiri… can you bring me three bottles of cool drinks and three pieces of cheesecake from the Fab at noon… here is the money… uncle Piyasiri keep the leftovers…" she put the money in his hand.

Before Piyasiri leave, the Cabin Sansali called him again.

"Uncle if Anjali is there, asked her to come…" she said and let Piyasiri go.

After a while, Anjali who is a technical officer at Sansali's workplace came to her cabin.

"Ma'am, did you ask me to come?" Anjali asked in a questionable manner.

"Anjali, I always tell you not to call me as Ma'am. What is this Anjali don't call me like that again we both are the same age so-called me as Sansali…" Sansali said with an angry look on her face.

"Okay. Sorry… Why did you ask me to come Sansali?"

As her name came out of Anjali's mouth a thin smile from Sansali's lips came out.

Following Anjali's voice, Sansali opened the drawer on the table and carefully took out a small bag. Sansali got up from her chair with the bag and approached Anjali.

"Ah… a little gift from me…Happy Birthday, Anji… "she said and gave a hug.

Thankfully Anjali accepted the gift and left the cabin.

Sansali was in the habit of giving any birthday present to anyone in the company who is celebrating her birthday, not just Anjali.

Sansali did not feel the day go by as she focused on her work. Her distraction from work was distracted by the ringing of the telephone on the table.

She kept his eyes on the report he was reading and hung up the telephone to answer the call.

"Hello"

"Hello, ma'am. there are two people who have come to meet you… shall I send them to you ma'am" Nihari the new receptionist of the company beyond the telephone, began to respond.

"Send them Nihari." Sansali finished the conversation, and kept the record file she was looking at, and prepared to welcome the guest into her cabin.

Sansali stared at her friend as he entered through the cabin door. As he entered the cabin, Thanuja raised his voice.

"Wow, Sansi who is the new girl in the reception… is beautiful…"

Sansali smiled, to the regular words that often came out from Thanuja's mouth when he saw a beautiful girl. It was no stranger to Sansali. Lashani who was standing next to Thanuja also laughed.

"Oh God Thanuja You're such a joke…" Sansali said and started laughing again.

Thanuja, who studied law is currently working as a lawyer.

When Thanuja sat down in the chair with his tongue outstretched to Sansali's mockery, Lashani has finished sitting down.

Looking at Thanuja and Lashani for a moment, Sansali smiled and called out to Piyasiri. Piyasiri entered the cabin and greeted the two guests with a friendly smile.

"Uncle… bring that drink and cake…" she said and allowed Piyasiri to go.

The three began their cordial discussion, enjoying a few moments of refreshments and cheesecake.

"Sansi. Pasan came to talk to me on Monday. He told what happened then…" Lashani looked at Sansali and began to say.

The friendship between Lashani and Sansali grew even stronger as they were again studying for a master's degrees in the same field at the same institute. Lashani had completed her university studies and was currently working at her father's company.

Lashani's words made Sansali look out of the window at the sea because she did not want to respond to those words. Thanuja looked at Sansali's response and opened his voice.

"It's okay Sansi. If you don't want to talk about it. We'll forget about it…"

Thanuja paused for a moment at let out a long sigh.

"You were so good enough…Tell me what you want Sansi. You have the appearance; you have learned and have a fair amount of money. Also, you have a fixed job, a house and a respectful family, and everything. If you have someone you love and thinking I'll help you to make it up…so tell me."

After Thanuja's voice was over, Sansali raised her eyebrows and began to think about what he had said.

Like Lashani and Sansali, it is well known that Thanuja who always joking, rarely speaks in such a serious manner.

Sansali got up from her seat and slowly started walking towards the photo frame. Sansali looked at the picture of the photo frame with tears in her eyes for a moment and took it in her hands and hugged it to her chest.

Both Lashani and Thanuja understood everything in face of Sansali's behavior.

"Please girl… put it aside now. we will not be talking about this again…" Lashani said sadly.

Turning the story around, Lashani started talking about a new TV show because she wanted to remove Sansali's mind from the photo frame.

No matter how much she smiled, Sansali's heart was heavy after the previous conversation.

Lashani got out of Sansali's office and got into the car and grabbed Thanuja's hand tightly. Thanuja stared at Lashani with eyes as wide as two cranes.

"Thanu. Sansali has been in pain for a long time now. I can't tolerate this anymore. If only we could find out the Deeptha and talk about this it will be better." Thanuja began to think for a moment through Lashani's words.

"Hmm… let's think for a while," Thanuja said after sitting for a moment pulling the vehicle forward.

Thoughtfully, Sansali entered the house, washed her face, and went to the kitchen to talk to Kamala.

"Honey... did you do a good job today. how was the day," Kamala asked from Sansali as Usual.

"Nothing special aunty… goes as usual," Sansali said in a soft voice as the afternoon conversation seemed to unfold.

"Honey what do you want for dinner…" Kamala asked looking at Sansali's face.

"I am not hungry. I must have been very tired today because it was a tired all week." Kamala never wanted Sansali to sleep without an empty stomach.

"Wait, Honey… I'll make you some coffee. drink it too and go to sleep…"

Kamala said filling the kettle with water. Sansali could not resist it.

After drinking the cup of coffee made by Kamal, Sansali went to the room, turned off the lights, and lay down on the bed.

Sansali, who was lying in bed with her eyes closed, had a conversation with Lashani and Thanuja in the afternoon.

Sansali closed her eyes and made a futile attempt to avoid remembering past events. The calm mind, realizing that the thoughts were endless, allowed the stream of thoughts to flow freely, no matter how old.

Sansali opened her eyes in pain to avoid reflecting on past events. Sansali realized that the night had passed without sleep in the past.

Recalling past events, Sansali realized the only thing she had left was loneliness, even though she had been separated from her family to make up her mind to forget the Deeptha's memories of the scene she was near the Galleface that day.
