Stolen Technology

Every phenomena had an explanation. There was a long series of events that happened in succession and caused the phenomena into existence. Most of the time many phenomena were artificial constructs instead of natural. Although natural phenomena certainly existed. But they were the result of extremely chance encounters and events. Chances of the same phenomena happening in another place was quite slim. But more often than not, The phenomena was artificial.

The 4 planets was one such one. The chances of such unique planets appearing in such formations and orbit was quite slim to begin with. But 4 of them was a pattern. Someone wanted to do something and the 4 planets represented their success or failure.

Humanity had long transcended their roots in the middle of an intergalactic war, and dominated the stars that were filled with various flora and fauna. Sometimes the Fauna were also capable of space travel and as a result were in direct competition with the humans. They competed for everything. From the bounty of the stars to the star systems. Everything became an object of competition.

Many time there were native sentient races. Which was reduced to ashes as soon as the winning party claimed their bounty. In the eyes of the galactic races, the natives were merely pests that they didn't care about.

Although some of the major races were sympathetic to such events. But at the end, their own race came first. No matter what, they needed to come out on the top.

The best way to evolve as a race was to integrate the technology of an superior race. Instead of researching for decades without the specific specialty in the field, Integrating the technology that a superior race had already mastered quite easy. Humans were excellent at that! The 1st FTL drive was developed after one of the first expedition ships came across a massive warship stranded in a star system. The Ship held an immense amount of high-technology that the humans couldn't understand. The ships was quickly salvaged and anything that was even slightly complicated was taken out. After everything was brought back to earth, Researchers poured their heart and mind on breaking them down and reverse-engineering them. Much of it was broken beyond fix and couldn't be reverse engineered. So much of the researchers gave up on them.

But the one thing that the researchers didn't gave up was the FTL drive. This piece of high-technology was so sophisticated that It took humanity another 160 years before they were able to figure out how it worked and built a prototype version. This Advancement marked a ground-breaking event for humanity and marked the beginning of realistic space travel.

Before the invention of FTL drive, Humans were limited to the Fusion Drive that relied on nuclear fusion to propel a ship forward. Although it was a really sustainable method, the problem with it was that it still took quite a bit of time to travel from one star to another. The Ship needed to be propelled forward and then slowed down again when it reached the destination. It was really inconvenient. Which barred it from mass use. And was mostly used for research and exploration voyages.

The FTL drive solved this problem. With it, The time to travel shrunk down drastically. Even with the 1st generation drives, The journey that used to take half a decade shrunk down to just 5 months! It was simply a ground breaking event that was worth all the effort that was put in it over the last 16 Decades.

It was never a bad idea to copy a superior technology. You just needed to do it right. The Original creators might not be happy with this, but who cared? All that mattered was survival. The Galaxy was filled with different and horrifying Alien civilizations. Many of them had a head start on the galaxy domination than humanity. But that didn't mean the humans would back down. After all, if they stop advancing now, it'd be the same as the end of human civilization.

For this reason, The investigation of the 4 planets were really important. Nobody knew who was responsible for such a feat. Taking 4 huge planets and putting them in such specific orbits, It's nothing short of a fantastical feat.

"Even if we can't copy the methods that were used, but just getting the glimpse of how it was done would progress the capability of humans by at least a century! There's simply no way to tell how this fantastic feat was achieved. The data we're getting from there are also getting increasingly interesting. For the sake of humanity, we MUST GO!", Dr. Kbom said with an absolute tone.

He was standing in a room filled with projections that projected different people at the different levels in the hierarchy of the Arcorn Empire. These were the real movers and shakers of the empire and were part of the rebellion that lead to the founding of the Empire.

The Mission to the V point was quite important, It was carefully planned out except any surprises. But it was crucial to achieve the main goal for the voyage.

Although Dr. Kbom presented an Good Argument and a passionate speech, The projections weren't convinced.

"You are aware of the importance of this mission right? The Superstructure around V0 presents a really crucial technology that may have been long lost. If it's a dyson sphere like we suspect, it'll help us tame the immense stars that currently lay unused, and are soon destined to burn out. We need to harness the immense amount of power that they emit and make use of it while we can. It's absolutely crucial that we find out how.", one of the Projections spoke.

"Yes, We must prioritize the main mission", Another one spoke.

"With respect sir, I still believe that we must proceed with the investigation. The Main mission won't get affected by this.", Dr. Kbom said again looking at the projection that was clearly in charge of this meeting. From his demeanor, it was quite clear, that his voice was absolute.

"You may proceed. But, Don't botch up the main mission. It takes precedence. You understand that right Kbom?", the projection spoke.

"Yes sir, Absolutely. Thank you.", Dr. Kbom gave out a smile while throwing a look at the other projections.
