Your new name will be Aryen

It was that day when Lyra started to have her nightmares. She was only eighteen years old when she was taken as a test subject for an unknown drug. They made her suffer for four agonizing years. 

She was an intelligent working student that fell on the hands of inhumane people. They mercilessly continued to experimented on her. 

Nevertheless, revenge gave her strength to survive. She endured the pain every time they took new drugs to test on her before they would try it on other people. 

Vague memories haunted Lyra's mind. Each one is like a thousand needles piercing her heart. Making her feel weak with unexplainable heartache.

With deep pain in her veins, tears started to fall from Lyra's eyes. She doesn't know where she is. A warm finger gently wiped her tears all of sudden. 

When Lyra opened her eyes, she saw a young man who seemed to be around twenty-six years old. He is smiling but his eyes shows a deep sorrow while staring at her with tenderness on his face. 

His appearance is handsome. With thin kissable lips, high nose, long eyelashes and a pair of beautiful brown eyes that looks like it is made of jade. 

Seeing an unfamiliar man seated at the edge of the bed, Lyra turned her head to look around. She noticed that it is a big, luxurious room. 

Blinking her eyes in confusion, she looked back at the young man next to her. When she opened her mouth to speak, an unfamiliar clear voice that sounds like water drops in a silent forest can be heard. "Who are you?" 

Lyra: "..." What happened to my voice? 

"Don't you remember?" The young man asked with gentleness on his voice while scrutinizing Lyra's confused face after she spoke. "It's your new voice.." 

"New voice? How is that possible?!" her eyes widened in disbelief. Lyra can only think that this must be the result of all the drugs that was injected to her body.

Although she couldn't comprehend the possibilities, Lyra tried to recall who he is, but she still has no idea. "I don't think I know you.." 

She tried to think but her head starts to hurt when she attempts to remember what happened after the day she was been taken as a test subject. 

"Don't force yourself, there are things you might not remember after we escaped." The young man said while his hands stroke Lyra's head like taming a beast. 

Not forcing to recall her nightmare, Lyra cannot recall how they escape, or rather she has an incomplete memory of what happen in the past four years. 

"What happened?" Lyra asked with confusion, but aside from her speculation that the young man knew who she is, her heart feels comfortable with him. 

Shaking his head in response, the young man forced a smile. But the next question made Lyra felt dumbfounded with a trembling heart. 

"Do you remember how you died for you to escape?" The young man asked with grief and teary eyes. His heart felt like a hundred knives were piercing him without mercy. 

Wide eyed in disbelief, Lyra tried to ask. "Died? How did I die? But.. How am I still alive?.." Her voice is shaking while her heart began pumping fast. 

"I know it's hard to believe, but it would be much better if you will remember it yourself." The young man answered with hesitation. The sadness on his voice cannot be ignored.

Lyra's mind doesn't give her an answer. There were vague memories, but it only hurts her head whenever she tries to recall the past. 

"My real name is Xiru, but from now on, you will call me Arren. While your new name will be Aryen, my little sister." he said while scrutinizing her face. 

Digesting his words, Lyra felt complicated. She looked at Arren's eyes when she asked. "A new name? You mean changing identities? Are you telling me to forget..." She was interrupted.

"The lab thinks that we are already dead. We can only live with a new identity. Unless you want them to find out that we are alive. But it will endanger your daughter's life." Arren immediately explained. 

"Daughter? That's impossible! I was only 18 when I was taken to the lab!" Aryen's voice is shaking, but every word she said felt like her heart is being ripped apart. "Are you telling me.. Someone touched me?"
