As the author of this book, I would like to take a moment to talk about its structure and pacing. When I first started writing this story, I was still learning the craft of writing and exploring the world and characters I had created. As a result, the first volume of this book may feel a little slow-paced at times, as I took my time to introduce the setting, the plot, and the main characters. However, as I gained more experience and feedback from readers like you, I realized that I could improve the pacing and make the story more engaging and exciting. Therefore, I have been constantly revising and editing the chapters, trying to find ways to streamline the exposition, increase the tension, and deepen the character development. You may notice some differences between the original and current versions if you have read the first volume already. Some scenes may have been cut or shortened, while others may have been expanded or rearranged. However, I want to assure you that the core of the story remains the same and that the characters and themes will continue to evolve and surprise you. The last issue I would like to address is the portrayal of the main character (MC) on this website. I have noticed that on average, on this website, there are two types of MCs: 1) The ruthless, apathetic, or cold MC 2) The normal or intelligent MC The problem with both types is that they often become godlike or fighting experts within just five chapters. Not only is this unrealistic, but it can also become monotonous, in my opinion. It seems that many authors tend to use these two types frequently. That is why I have created a completely different main character for my story. In this story, the MC is flawed and has faced many challenges in life. Unlike other characters who are already ahead, the MC finds himself starting from nothing. He learns to fight, interact with people, and manage difficult situations. This means that he won't always make the same choices or take the same path as you would. It's important to remember that every person would react differently in each situation, and there is no universal answer for how to handle every circumstance. Please keep this in mind when you come across moments where you may not agree with the MC's actions and consider his unique perspective and way of thinking. POWER RANKS (Read if you can't understand them)

EDIT: The following is still valid, but I'm currently going to simplify the Idor scale by substituting the English names with the Greek alphabet.

Here is the Greek Alphabet for an easy understanding:

α (alpha) β (beta) γ (gamma) δ (delta) ε (epsilon) ζ (zeta) η (eta) θ (theta) ι (iota) κ (kappa) λ (lambda) μ (mu) ν (nu) ξ (xi) ο (omicron) π (pi) ρ (rho) σ/ς (sigma) τ (tau) υ (upsilon) φ (phi) χ (chi) ψ (psi) ω (omega)

This means that AGAMMA2B will become Aγ2B. I decided to do this due to what the readers said. If It is too complicated, I can always revert it back. The procedure will take time.

Original Post:

Ok, guys. Since I understand that the system I created is not a simple one, I decided to explain it in depth here.

The full individual rank takes the following form: AGAMMA2B

The first letter you see there (A) refers to the Ferebitz scale. This measures the amount of mana the individual's brain crystal can harness. The higher it is, the more he can use it. Brain crystals CANNOT improve at the current state of technology, and if you are stuck with a bad score, you can do nothing about it.

So, for the Ferebitz scale, the ranks go from F to A (there is a special rank which is the X one, that is used to determine individuals whose power lay outside of such a scale.)

Then there is the GAMMA2 part. This relates to the Idor scale, which instead measures the number of neural links an individual possesses. The scale follows the Greek alphabet, starting from SIGMA (lowest level) to ALPHA (highest level), but each level has a number from 1-3 attached to it. This is because each level has three neural links. For example, a RHO2 individual has five neural links. A SIGMA3 has three neural links. The total number of links is a sum meaning that at the ALPHA3 level, the individual obtained ALL the possible neural links one can make (which is 54). As it will be explained better inside the novel, the number of neural links mainly affects:

1) The speed at which the individual can channel mana through his or her body

2) The consumption of mana his or her power has. (Individuals CAN'T improve their brain crystal per se but can reduce the amount of mana required to use their power. At level ALPHA3, it is low)

3) The neural links allow more mana into the body, which in turn changes the person's DNA, improving his or her physical statistics. This means that the higher their numbers and the stronger the individual is physically speaking (more strength, more speed, more endurance etc...).

The last scale I created is the JORM scale, which instead measures the individual's brain crystal power on a scale from F to A (with the usual X). It is a scale BASED ON FIGHTING PROWESS, meaning that power is rated bad if it's not helpful in battle and the less destructive it is.

(SPOILER: ERIK'S POWER IS RANKED LOW, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE OF THIS. I GET IT THAT IN OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES, THIS CAN BE CONSIDERED A VERY USEFUL POWER, BUT IN A WORLD INFESTED WITH MAN-EATING MONSTERS, IT IS NOT!)

Now, someone said to me that the powers are very unbalanced, but the truth was that he didn't understand how things work. I won't say why he said that since it would involve spoilers, but here is how things work:

Having a lot of mana, meaning high levels on the Ferebitz scale, doesn't mean everything. You can have all the mana you want, but if you are a glass cannon, you are bound to lose if you find someone with physical stats that are much higher than you. If an enemy can dash in front of you in a matter of seconds and you cannot even react to it, you will die. As already stated, physical strength depends on the number of neural links you have, meaning that you are on higher ranks on the Idor scale. Erik is the only exception to this since he also has the system. So, remember this when you wonder why a low level can win against high-level individuals. The difference in physical stats is important, and the rank on Idor is important (since it also involves the quantity of mana that a power uses).

The full rank will ALWAYS be AGAMMA2B; the three scales are equally important. Do not stop only at the first, the second, or the third because it is not like this that things work in my novel.

I hope everything is clear; if you have any doubts, feel free to leave a comment.
