Chapter 5 - I'm married??

Jana's POV

I woke up to a soft humming tune and slowly, all my nerves began to work again. I felt my body sink into the bed and a warm blanket around me.

Daniel was sitting down on his wheelchair  and carrying baby Adelaide in his arms. She looked like she about to sleep but as Daniel smiled at me and said "you're awake", she struggled to get down from his arms and reached out for me. I sat up slowly and carried her

"Hey" I said "how did I get here?"

"You fainted at the entrance of the hospital. I'm surprised that the paramedics or even the nurses didn't see you. I used my wheelchair to take you here through the elevators.

"Thanks buddy" I smiled

"You're welcome " he said, reaching for his phone. "Ughh...this woman"

"What?" I said, raising an eyebrow

"My god mother just asked me if I have anyone available for a babysitting job.." he said

Since there was no food at home and I was very hungry, a job could grab me a meal in the house and few more from the pay.

"Sure, I'll do it" I said, enthusiastically

"You sure? You just fainted." He said, concern written clearly on his face

"Yes." I said.

"Okay. I get to tag along cuz I miss her kids. I want to see them and help because they are a handful." He said

"Sure" I said

Someone knocked and Daniel asked who it was. Rhea came in with a bottle and smiled

"Hi" she said

"I said who is there, not come in" Daniel rolled his eyes good-naturedly.

Rhea thonked his head and said "we are agemates but I'm a mom. I can do what I want which includes barging in and scolding you "

"Trust me, when I become a dad, I'll make sure to throw you off the cliff" Daniel said

"Language....we have a baby here". I said, referring to Adelaide who was staring at them queerly as they bantered.

"Sorry" Daniel and Rhea said

"Well I just came to feed her " Rhea said

"I'll do it and burp her. I'll bring her back." I said

"Okay " Rhea smiled brightly" I doubt if she even wants me back "

"She will, trust me" I said

"Alright...bye" she said and left

I fed Adelaide and burped her. She soon began to sleep in my arms. All the time, I was aware of Daniel's eyes on me. It made me nervous and careful not to make a mistake. If he continued,I might drop her.

"Get ready, let me go and drop her. Get all the consent form and necessary things needed and we'll go" I said

"Yes ma'am " he  said laughing

I glared at him and went outside the room, closing the door behind me. Adelaide stirred and I had to stay still for a while till she was sound asleep

I located her dad's room which was where Rhea would be. I knocked and Rhea said "Come in"

I gingerly carried Adelaide in and laid her on the cot the hospital provided for her. I turned and nodded to Rhea and she smiled"thanks"

"Thank you" the guy on the bed said

"You're welcome . " I smiled "Adelaide looks more like him... And oddly, you look a bit like him"

They laughed"true" he said.

"She just took my eyes Everything came from her dad" she said

"Even the hair?" I said

"Yes" Rhea said " my original hair color is blonde. I just dyed it to match with him"

"Aww" I smiled

The two colored up cutely.

God when will I have this kind of relationship that will make me smile like Rhea?  I mused

"How long have you two been married?" I said

"Five years " they said, smiling

"Wow...at eighteen " I grinned

"Yeah. It was kind of impulsive but I never regret taking that bold move. Sometimes, if it means risking everything just to act on an impulse, try to take that risk because who knows....it might be the best decision you've ever made." He said , kissing Rhea's hand. Rhea colored up cutely

God when? Give me a pointer. Am I seeing the right person? I don't want to spend the rest of my life with the wrong person. Though I love Steve, one teensy part of me still doubts if he's the one I'm meant to be with. God I'm so clueless when it comes to love  I groaned

Rhea smiled "Don't worry. when you meet the right someone, it wouldn't go unnoticed. You'd feel something. Even if you don't see or feel it, when you two stand together, someone can notice the spark"

"Thank you....I really needed that" I said. "Bye...and nice meeting you,"

"Tyler " he said "you too, take care of yourself. Thanks again."

"You're welcome " I said and walked out. As I did, I saw Daniel coming out from the elevators.

"Ready, baby boy?" I grinned

"Sure, baby girl. Let's go" he said.

He took my hand and swung it gently as we walked out of the hospital. I hailed a taxi and we got in. He told the driver the address and he drove off.

"Soo...tell me about yourself" I said.

"I'm Damien....I graduated few months ago from UCLA....I studied software engineering. Umm...I like dogs , my favorite food is blueberry pie, umm...I don't really know much about myself " he said

I chuckled"that's alright "

"Maybe if it's okay, you ask questions, I'll answer" he said

"Favourite colour?" I asked

"Blue" he said

"Favourite clothe color?" I asked

"Black" he said

We kept on asking each other questions untill the driver pulled the car to a halt.

"We are here" the driver said.

We got down and Daniel stopped me from paying and paid. Since we stopped at the entrance of an estate, we had to walk to the house.

The house was located in the heart of the estate. There were ten houses there, each surrounded by lush trees and greenery. The place looked like some kind of wonderland because of the exotic flowers on the grass on both sides of the very wide interlocked road.

Daniel rang the door bell and a middle aged woman dressed in a white suit  carrying a girl of five in her hand opened the door

"Daniel....how are you?" She smiled, her white teeth gleaming to complement her light brown eyes "who's your friend"

"She's Jana Maitland.... she'll babysit them" he said

"Come in dear. I love your hair " she said

Thanks ma'am." I said

"Call me Mrs Reynolds" she said. "Get down Freya "

The girl got down from her mum's body and walked to a seemingly identical boy of the same age and put her arm on his shoulder

"Be good...I have to go" Mrs Reynolds said and left.

The teenage girl sitting on the couch nervously with her friend looked up and smiled shyly at me

"C'mon Shannon, she won't bite....you too Maisie....come greet her" Daniel said

"Is she your girlfriend?" Shannon Reynolds asked

"Hell no" I squeaked

"Your loss. Daniel is a good guy. Too bad he had poor eyes for girls" Maisie said . "The last one he brought couldn't even cook or do anything. She was on her phone all day and made us take stupid selfies  and called us brats " Shannon said

"I'm sorry about that. Trust me,  she's different, okay?" Daniel said

"Alright." ..the kids said

"I'm kinda hungry....but I want to play ballroom" Shannon said

"I'll go fix something up, you guys should set up" I said.

"Wait, let me write a list "  Freya said amd scribbled a note to me

"Daniel, help her" Shannon said

"Kay" he said and we went to the kitchen. Once we were inside, the door was locked after us.

"Hey!" I yelled trying to open the door

"It's locked from the outside " Daniel said

"Make out or something, you guys. " Shannon said

"Make pretty babies with long hair" Maisie squealed

"Open the door!" Daniel said

"Till you finish cooking!"Freya said

I opened the note in my hand and read

Her childish spelling and outrageous demands made me laugh.

"Um, Freya, we can only bake one thing along with the ice cream. What would that be" I yelled

"Cupcakes" Freya said

"Alright " I said and set to work on the ice cream and cupcakes.

"Done" I said , putting the last cupcake down "here, try one."

"Sure...thanks" Daniel said collecting it from me. He bit into it and shook his head before throwing the rest into his mouth

"It's so good" he said licking his lips. "I love this"

"Thanks" I smiled

I love being complimented on my cooking. But Steve didn't see my cooking skills as relevant. He was going to hire a maid when we get married

Sucker

I moved away from the oven to wash my hands but I began to quiver. My legs felt like jelly all of a sudden.

"Woah. .. easy there" he said, catching me before I fell. "You okay?"

I couldn't talk. I was mesmerized by his eyes that seem to bore into my soul. The contents of my soul seeped out of those holes, leaving me light and brainless. His hand on my back sent electrifying pulses to my heart making them thump faster. His gaze softened and he drew in a corner of his lip and blinked, helping me stand straighter as I held on to his shoulders. He smiled at me, a gentle , sweet smile...

Is this what Rhea was talking about?

My palms were sweating, my tummy felt as if it was flopping with crazy butterflies getting sturdy to the beat of  Early Hours  by ArrDee.

This was crazy.

How was this happening to me? I have a fiance!

"You're trembling" he said. "You'll be fine" he said, hugging me "go first, I'll come with the cupcakes and ice cream"

"Ohhh! She likes rough sex, you go first then I'll come next, championing it to success!" Maisie and Shannon sang, teasing us with the song from my head.

"Get a room you two" Maisie said "by the way, we invited four friends ....hope the cupcakes and ice cream can go round "

Daniel and I rolled our eyes. We grabbed the food and walked out of the kitchen.

"Yay!" Freya squealed, hugging my legs. I dropped the food on the table and cuddled her. She grabbed the red veil on the floor and covered my hair with it

"You're getting married" Freya said

"Huh? I thought we were playing ballroom? Don't you want to be queen Freya?" I said, ruffling her dark brown curly hair

She shook her hair. " I want you to marry Daniel"

" Miss Jana. Uncle Daniel is always sad and lonely and our babysitter is always making him angry. I know you will make him happy and I want uncle to be happy, so marry him, pretty please?" Freya said

Huh? A five year old is this thoughtful?

"It's true , Miss Jana, she's mean to us and makes him sad. Please marry him" Frank pouted sadly

"Okay" I smiled , hugging him with my free arm. They squealed happily and pulled my veil  to sit on my hair properly

"What's this I'm hearing? Maisie said we aren't playing ballroom but we are getting married " Daniel said, walking to the dining room with two strange boys around Maisie and Shannon's age trailing behind him

"It's true...think we can pull off a good show?" I grinned, carrying the two of them , standing up

"Oh... okay..Sure we can ." he smiled.

I put them down and he took my hand and we faced the dining table

"I'm the priest " Frank said, struggling to climb the little stairs that raised the dining room up.

"Here you go, little man" I said , carrying him up and setting him on the dining floor

"Thank you" he said.

The doorbell rang and Maisie went to open the door. She soon came in with  Mrs Reynolds and Freya motioned for them to sit

Frank brought out the papers from his pocket and read

"Sisters , we are here to witness the wedding of Miss Jana and Uncle Dami. The purpose of this marriage is for them to be happy and care for each other..."

Shannon mouthed something to him

"Oh yes, and to make cute babies" he grinned

"Hey!" We said,  laughing

"Take your wedding bracelets"  he said, digging  into his pocket and bringing out two silver charm bracelets. One had silver, pink,and purple butterflies and hearts as the pendants while the other had stars and hearts of the same color on the other one. Daniel took the one with butterflies and I took the one with stars

Sissy. He should have taken the one with stars.  I mused

"Uncle, take her right hand and say your wedding vows however you like. The most romantic gets a gift" Frank said

"I second and I'm going to support that that " Mrs Reynolds said

"Thank you mommy" Shannon, Frank and Freya said, grinning.

"Baby girl, from the first day I set my eyes on you, I knew that I would fight for you, I knew that I would participate in any competition if the prize was you. My heartbeat, my pretty flower, my everything, words cannot describe how much I love you. I'm in love with you, you're just the one I want to spend my time with. If I've taken you for granted, I'm sorry, I've come to realize how much you mean to me. I promise to love, care, cherish and protect you, no matter what because I don't want to lose you, my love"

He smiled and kissed my forehead softly  before putting the bracelet on for me

They clapped and cheered while dabbing fake tears away.

"Sweetheart,  you've only shown me nothing but love ever since we met. I'm crazy about you. I love you more than you think or can imagine. Someone once said to me that when I find the right person, I would know.....and here we are. Since I set my eyes on you on that staircase I just knew it had to be you or no one else. I have everything now that I have you. I can do anything with you by my side. ...I'm practically Supergirl...Can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you" I said, putting the bracelet on his hand

"I declare you married and you will be our babysitter. You may now kiss her" Frank said grinning

Wait...what the fuck??

"Um... Frankie?" Daniel said, scratching his head

"Kiss her!" He said

They all began to chant and clap, getting up on their feet.

"Um...hello?* I said, pretending to get a call but Mrs Reynolds collected the phone from me.

"I want to go home " I whined

"No way....unless you wanna go without pay" she grinned

Rich...

I looked at Daniel and smiled shyly. He kissed me on my forehead and all of them protested loudly

"On the lips" Shannon said

We stood there looking at each other like teenagers on their first date. We took each other's hands and teined our fingers together. He lowered his head into mine till our lips came in contact.  He shot me an apologetic look then another gaze I couldn't identify.

Them he dove in, closing his eyes abd I followed suit.

His warm wet tongue traced my bottom lip before holding it captive between his velvety soft lips. I gasped and he plowed right into my mouth, tangling with my tongue before stroking it.  He slowly released my hands and wrapped it around my waist before drawing me closer . I wrapped my arms around his neck and  he deepened the kiss.

"Daniel...Ohh" I moaned lightly "what the fuck ....ohh"

"Shh" he said, before diving back in

"That's enough, seriously and you two aren't dating?" Mrs Reynolds said

We snapped apart, pink at the face. Daniels blue eyes had lightened scarily and they seemed focused on my neck.

Vampire

"Welcome to the family, Jana. You're  officially married to my godson....flirt with any man, you're fired. I got eyes everywhere, just so you know  " Mrs Reynolds said handing me some bills

Im married to him??

Oh my gosh I'm a fucking cheat!

I shared a hot kiss with a guy I could never have while having it at the back of my mind that Steve could never make me feel like this from a kiss.

Too stunned  to move

I'm a lying cheating slut now

Normally, I would literally go crazy because I cheated but now , my brain needed more of that electrifying kiss
