The arena exploded in cheers as the referee raised Taylor's hand in victory. Sandro and Kofi climbed into the ring, congratulating him, and the three of them stood together, soaking in the fans' adulation. Sandro felt a rush of pride, both for Taylor's victory and for the way their mentorship was already making an impact.
Returning backstage, Sandro, Kofi, and Taylor were greeted with enthusiastic applause from the other wrestlers and the production crew, all congratulating them on the segment's success. Dusty and Steve made their way over, both with satisfied grins.
"The fans were eating that up," Dusty said, clapping Sandro on the shoulder. "The chemistry between you three is on fire. This truly has the potential to be something huge."
Steve nodded in agreement. "We've got big plans for you all. Next Monday, on FCW Live, we're setting up a six-man tag team match for you three to showcase that chemistry even more. It'll be against opponents we've picked out specifically to challenge your dynamic and test Taylor's skills alongside you and Kofi."
Sandro felt a surge of excitement. The upcoming match would be a high-profile chance to cement the faction in front of the live TV audience and solidify Taylor's position under their mentorship. He knew Dusty and Steve would choose wrestlers who'd push them to their limits, bringing out the best in Taylor while showing fans how united and strategic their partnership could be.
Once the meeting wrapped up, Sandro, Kofi, and Taylor returned to the locker room. Taylor was still buzzing from the victory, his eyes alight with energy.
"I can't believe it, man," he said, shaking his head with a wide grin. "The crowd was so loud. It felt unreal."
Sandro laughed, patting him on the back. "That's the thrill, Taylor. And it only gets better from here. Next Monday, we get to show everyone just what Dragon Boom and Taylor can do together."
Kofi joined in, giving Taylor a fist bump. "Just wait until we're all out there together. The energy is going to be insane, and the fans are going to see exactly why we make such a powerful team."
Over the weekend, Sandro spent his time planning strategies for the match. He knew that for the faction to resonate deeply with fans, they'd need a balance of styles. Taylor, with his youthful energy, would bring the excitement and unpredictability; Kofi and Sandro, would provide guidance and control, acting as pillars of strength to keep the team focused and effective.
When Monday night finally arrived, the trio arrived at the arena early to go over their plans. Dusty pulled them aside and introduced them to their opponents for the night: Nick Nemeth and The Puerto Rican Nightmare.
Hearing that their opponents would be Nick Nemeth and The Puerto Rican Nightmare, Sandro and Kofi exchanged knowing smiles. They had wrestled with Nick countless times as their best friend and knew him as well as they knew each other.
As for The Puerto Rican Nightmare—Eric and Primo—they had clashed in the ring with them several times and had a natural rhythm that would make coordinating the match straightforward.
However, Taylor was visibly anxious. His usual excitement was tinged with hesitation as he shifted from foot to foot, casting uncertain glances toward Sandro and Kofi. Eventually, he took a deep breath and confessed his worries.
"I don't know, guys… I've never been in a match with any of these guys before. I'm worried I'll mess something up—maybe even botch a move," he admitted, his voice trailing off. Sandro and Kofi could see the nervous energy in him.
Dusty overheard and stepped in, clapping Taylor on the back. "Listen, kid, you don't need to worry about a thing. Nick, Eric, and Primo—they're all professionals. Just follow Sandro and Kofi's lead, stay calm, and trust your instincts. You're here because you've got what it takes. We believe in you."
Kofi grinned, nodding. "Taylor, these guys are some of the best to work with. If you start feeling lost, just look to one of us. We're all in this together."
Sandro added, "You've got this, Taylor. Just stay focused on the story we're telling in the ring. The crowd is there for the drama, the momentum shifts, and the emotion. And we're going to guide you through every step."
Taylor gave a hesitant smile, but their words seemed to ease his nerves a bit. He took another deep nodded nodding slowly, and focused on preparing himself mentally for the match ahead.
They spent the next hour going over the plan for the match, discussing moves and cues, and then visualizing how they wanted the energy to unfold for the audience.
As the night progressed, the arena filled with a rowdy crowd, eager for the high-stakes energy of a live FCW broadcast. The lights dimmed, and the electric hum of anticipation grew as the announcer's voice boomed over the sound system.
"And now, please welcome, the reigning Tag Team Champions, Dragon Boom! And joining them tonight, Taylor Rotunda!" The crowd erupted as the trio's entrance music blared. Sandro, Kofi, and Taylor emerged, with Taylor noticeably more confident thanks to his mentors' pep talks.
The fans were already on their feet, chanting their names and cheering loudly. Sandro and Kofi's presence as established champions gave Taylor a palpable sense of legitimacy.
As they made their way to the ring, Sandro and Kofi encouraged the crowd, hyping them up with raised arms and cheers, while Taylor followed their lead, feeding off the audience's energy.
Once in the ring, they stood side by side, with Sandro and Kofi flanking Taylor, each with an arm around his shoulders, a united front that radiated confidence and camaraderie. Taylor was part of something bigger now, and it showed in the way he carried himself.
The lights dimmed again as their opponents' entrance music hit, and Nick Nemeth and The Puerto Rican Nightmare stepped into the arena. The crowd booed and jeered, but there was a clear respect for the formidable trio.
Nick was known for his technical prowess and cunning, while The Puerto Rican Nightmare brought a brutal, intense style that had earned them a reputation as fierce competitors. Sandro couldn't help but feel a rush of excitement; he knew this was going to be an epic showdown.
As the bell rang, Sandro and Nick started the match, circling each other with calculated moves, feeling out the pace and setting the tone for the story they were about to tell. They locked up, exchanging holds and counters, each displaying the kind of finesse that comes only with them knowing each other very well.
The fans watched with bated breath as Sandro and Nick showcased their chemistry, effortlessly transitioning between moves.
After a few minutes, Sandro glanced at Taylor, giving him a nod. It was time to bring him into the fray. Sandro made a dramatic tag, and Taylor entered the ring, greeted by a wave of cheers. His nervousness seemed to evaporate as he faced off against Nick, who flashed him a grin before charging forward.
Taylor ducked under Nick's initial strike and managed to counter with a swift arm drag, surprising even himself. Nick quickly got back up and nodded, a sign that he respected Taylor's skill and was ready to help him shine. Taylor kept his composure, following Sandro and Kofi's advice to stay grounded and trust the plan.
When Nick put him in a headlock, Taylor used his strength to break free and perform a textbook dropkick that sent Nick staggering back. The crowd went wild, cheering Taylor on as he gained confidence with each move.
Kofi called out from the corner, urging Taylor to keep up the pressure, and Sandro shouted encouragement, guiding him through the next sequence. After a few more exchanges, Taylor tagged in Kofi, who brought his powerhouse energy, landing a series of hard-hitting moves that left Nick reeling. The flow between them was seamless, and Taylor watched from the sidelines, taking in every moment and learning from his mentors' example.
The Puerto Rican Nightmare tagged in, and the energy shifted as Kofi faced off against Eric, a fierce and agile fighter who immediately launched into a series of quick strikes. Kofi, with his characteristic power, absorbed the blows and responded with his own, sending Eric staggering back.
The crowd roared as they clashed, each move echoing with intensity. After a few minutes of brutal exchanges, Kofi made a quick tag to Sandro, bringing the Dragon Boom dynamic back into play.
Sandro and Kofi executed a perfectly timed double team move, drawing cheers from the crowd, and then Sandro continued with his strength and agility, wearing Eric down. As the match progressed, it became clear that each member of Dragon Boom was working in sync, with Taylor increasingly confident and immersed in the fast-paced action.
Soon, it was Taylor's turn again. Sandro tagged him back in, and Taylor found himself facing Primo. The two locked up, and Primo immediately went on the offensive, testing Taylor's resilience. Taylor fought back with a newfound assertiveness, dodging Primo's attacks and countering with powerful moves of his own.
At one point, Primo attempted a high-risk maneuver, and Taylor, remembering Sandro's advice to keep his composure, used the moment to execute a flawless counter, sending Primo crashing to the mat.
The crowd's reaction was electric. Taylor could feel the energy radiating through him as he heard them chanting his name. Sandro and Kofi were on the sidelines, shouting words of encouragement, their pride evident.
As the match reached its climax, Nick and Eric re-entered, and chaos ensued as all six wrestlers clashed in the ring. The crowd was on its feet, cheering as Dragon Boom and Taylor fought side by side, using their synergy and chemistry to outmaneuver their opponents. Sandro and Kofi guided Taylor through each moment, and together they managed to clear the ring, leaving only Taylor and Primo to face off for the final showdown.
Taylor took a deep breath, feeling the adrenaline surge as he prepared to deliver the finishing move they'd practiced. He set up for his finisher move—a double underhook DDT—and, with the crowd roaring, executed it flawlessly, pinning Primo as the referee counted to three.
The arena erupted in cheers as the referee raised Taylor's hand in victory, with Sandro and Kofi immediately joining him in the ring, lifting him onto their shoulders in celebration. The three stood together, basking in the crowd's approval, their bond cemented not only by the victory but by the journey they'd taken to get there.
Backstage, the applause and congratulations were even louder than before. Dusty and Steve approached them again, visibly pleased with the match's outcome.
"That was exactly what we wanted," Steve said, shaking Sandro's hand. "You three are going to be a major force on this roster."
Dusty turned to Taylor, clapping him on the back. "And you, kid—you're a natural. Keep this up, and you're going to go far in this business."
Taylor beamed, clearly moved by the support and praise. He turned to Sandro and Kofi, gratitude shining in his eyes. "Thank you, both of you. I couldn't have done this match so easily without your guidance." Sandro grinned, pulling him into a hug. "You've got it in you, Taylor. We're just here to bring it out."
