Suspicious Lucius

Ragnar, Savra and Magnus had left the room, leaving Lucius all alone with the Magma Turtle. Ragnar then looked at Savra and began to say something.

"What do you think, Savra? Is there a high chance that this kid, Lucius, is perhaps a scammer?" Ragnar asked Savra, as he didn't really believe Lucius as this was their first time meeting.

Savra turned to Ragnar and smiled, "I don't think he is a scammer when I look at his confident face but still, I am only 80% sure about it, but who knows?"

Ragnar, who heard Savra's words, was a bit surprised. "80%? It is quite high when you are the one who says it but still, I am only 50% sure. I will need to see the result if he wants me to believe him."

Magnus, who heard his parents talking, didn't talk at all. Magnus was also curious whether Lucius was a scammer or not, as a young Evolist from a village was really rare.

Savra then turned toward his son, Magnus and asked him. "Magnus, you are the one who brings him here so what do you think? Is he a scammer or not?"

Magnus looked at his mother and said, "I am only about 75% sure about him. He is so confident and calm that it immediately makes me believe him."

Magnus then said again with a frown, "But if by any chance he is a scammer, then I will immediately do what we usually do to people like him." Magnus then crossed his neck with his hand.

Ragnar, who looked at Magnus, smiled and said, "Good. You are really our son. If he is a scammer, kill him; if he is a real one, then you and him will be rewarded."

Magnus, who heard it, immediately smiled and nodded. "Yes, father. Don't you worry about it, as I believe that he is not a scammer."

Savra, on the other hand, began to smile and said, "We will see soon enough if he is a scammer or not. For now, let him work, as I heard that some trainee Evolist took a day to work."

The three of them then immediately walked away and each of them had some hopes that Lucius was a real one, as if it were true, then their family would raise greatly.

Lucius was now looking at the Magma Turtle. The Magma Turtle stood quietly while looking at Lucius. Lucius could feel the heat just from standing near it. Although Lucius was a bit uncomfortable, he was still thinking about the mods that he could give to the Magma Turtle.

But before he began to mod it, Lucius immediately told the system, "System, mod it to be a bit dumber so it will be obedient to me and also make it forget anything when I mod it later."

The reason why Lucius firstly requested this mod was to be careful. He didn't know if the beast could talk to its tamer but Lucius didn't want to take the chance so Lucius immediately modified it to forget anything so his system would stay a secret.

The moment Lucius saw the estimate cost of this request, Lucius was shocked. "What the hell is this? This mod is just a preparation mod so how can it be so expensive?" 

Lucius was shocked not only because of the price but because this was the price of the mod to prepare the next mods so how could it be so expensive? But then suddenly a new screen appeared again that seemed to be explaining it.

After Lucius read the screen, he immediately understood the reason why the price was so expensive. "I see. Magnus is a 3-Star tamer so his tamed beast must also be a 3-Star beast."

Lucius then said, "It seems that I need to stop modding 3-Star beasts later, as I am still a weak tamer after all and also my MP is not that much."

But still, Lucius was curious about the Magma Turtle. "Let me see your data first before thinking what mod i give you later on."

Lucius was surprised seeing the stats. "The stats are really incredible. Even though it was only D stat that is the highest, it was still so strong."

Lucius then said again after remembering something, "The MP used to mod F to E is 10 MP and E to D is 100 MP and that is ten times different, so the strength is ten times. But they are only 1-star stats but how about the 3-star stats?"

Lucius only smirked upon realizing it: "The D in the magma turtle is the same as the B rank in one star beast so Lucius knew that it was quite amazing stats."

After admiring the Magma Turtle, Lucius immediately said, "System, launch the mod that I said earlier to make this Magma Turtle dumb and forgetful."

Lucius' MP was then immediately reduced by 1,000 MP. Lucius felt bad seeing it as 1,000 MP was a lot. "It pains me to use these MP, but it was the only choice for my system to remain a secret."

Soon the system immediately worked as the Magma Turtle began to change. His eyes looked emptier now as the Magma Turtle was now waiting for Lucius' instruction.

Lucius smiled after looking at the current Magma Turtle and decided to test it to see if the mod was really activated or not. "Let's see. Magma Turtle, go to that corner."

The Magma Turtle then began to slowly walk to the corner of the room. Lucius smiled as it really worked and tried to do another test. "Let's see how about lying down for now."

The Magma Turtle then obediently lied down and Lucius smiled even more and began to do the last test, "Now let's see. Shake my hand with your leg."

The Magma Turtle then stood up and moved toward Lucius. He raised his leg to greet Lucius' hand that was already let out.

The moment the turtle greeted Lucius' hand, Lucius immediately shouted out loud as his hand was seared, "Damn it. Why didn't I think it before? The Magma Turtle is a 'Magma Turtle' so its body must be hot."

Lucius, who was now blowing his hand, could only cry a bit, "Damn it! I need to see what kind of beasts first before I touch in the future." Lucius said to himself.

Lucius then looked at the Magma Turtle and said, "Now let's see... What kind of mod should I give to you?" Lucius began to smirk, thinking about it.
