The Beast System

There was a once an ambitious young woman named Maria Struss who lost her parents to the beasts of the wilderness at a young age. In a fit of rage, she swore to herself to kill every last beast on the planet. She became the strongest human in history and to this day there has never been a single person to surpass her in power. With her strength, she thought she could achieve her dream of beast annihilation. However, no matter how much she tried, even after uniting 3 entire kingdoms under one banner as an empire and forming the largest army in history to cull all beasts, she still failed. She lead the empire army to the north into fighting an abudant number of beasts in the wilderness and pushed them back into their territory making sure to kill every last one. This went on for years and as they progressed, more land opened up. This event became known as the culling.

This lead to the discovery of the edge of the world with a vast mountain range made of an impossible-to-break material in the way. Beyond the mountains existed an endless abyss with no end in sight. In this area, they dicovered that the beasts were coming from seemingly below the mountains through many holes in the mountain.

Seeing how there was a seemingly endless amount of beasts, how there were still many directions the beasts were coming from and how many casualties there were in the army after the culling, she decided to stop the campaign and set up a base at the north edge of the world so that beasts will at least stop coming out from one side of the world. There, she became a queen and founded a new kingdom that became the most prosperous in the world, known as the kingdom of Struss.

After waking up, i notice a huge difference between now and before i went to sleep. I am a tad bit larger, i am already covered in feathers and best of all i see a blue screen in front of me(more on that later). Wow that was fast, the growth rate of monsters is no joke. I also notice that papa bird is gone. Probably gone hunting for food. Somewhat reluctant, i part from the warmth of mama bird and start checking out my changes in more detail. This feels much better! Now for the juicy bit of my changes!

I excitedly focus on the mystical blue screen that has been in front of me ever since i woke up. On it is stated:

YES! This is it! First of all lets check my status! I press my beak against the status icon. And my status appears on the blue screen.

So my species is called Skepre Avis and it states i'm F-rank? As in F-rank monster i guess. I also have 6 different kinds of stats. They appear to be pretty self explanatory. Health for the amount of damage i can take before i die, intelligence for how smart i am and maybe for how high my mana can be. Attack power for how much power i'm packing, agility for how fast i am and endurance for how much punishment i can withstand without getting hurt. Most exciting part of this is the mana stat. This confirms that there is magic in this world! I guess it was pretty obvious with flames spouting out of papa bird but its nice to have assurance. My endurance stat is the weakest. Gotta be careful if i end up fighting something. My intelligence stat is also oddly high compared to the rest, probably because i still have the mind of a human. My next highest stat is agility but it makes sense since i'm a bird. I'm probably very weak compared to my bird parents. Their stats are probably well over a hundred. Maybe except for intelligence but they should have a decent amount of that too, at least for monsters. Is there a way to find out more about my own species? As i think about how to procure information on my species, the system answers me with a profile on my species.

They are unique for having access to all sorts of elements which lead to many different evolution paths and they live in forest regions within the Morath labyrinth.|

Thats neat! Isn't my species, like awesome!? Having the ability to use any element! So i can also find out more by just thinking about it. What is this Morath labyrinth?

So this world is named Froxus and i'm currently underground? A whole forest that exists underground!? How bizarre! This system is also being very useful, providing answers when i think up a question. Thought that i would have to find all this out on my own!

Next, what is the beast system?

Cool! Now why is it that beasts and monsters are separated in the explanation of The Morath Labyrinth? What is the difference?

|Monsters: Deadly creatures that are much stronger than beasts that live deeper underground but are unable to come up to higher levels due to limitations imposed on them by the creator of the labyrinth for their superior ability at birth.|

That makes sense. If the monsters could come up to higher levels, all the beasts would be exterminated. Also there's a person who created this place? who?

Oof, should have known it wouldn't be that easy. But if this place is as big as i think it is then the only person who could make this place has to simply be a god. Can i have more information of other beasts in this region?

Dang guess i could only see the profile of my own species because i already am one. It appears that i have the handy appraisal skill already though so thats good to know. How to use it? No idea but i will figure it out later. What are these evo points?

|Points obtained upon consumption of other beasts that are killed within an hour and upon leveling up to be used for evolution or improving of body parts.|

No wonder i didn't get any from eating that meat that mama bird gave me. It was already more than an hour since the death of whatever mama bird killed when i ate it. That sucks, hopefully i don't miss out when papa bird brings back some game. Oh, speak of the devil he's back, i will eat to get some of those precious points then check out the upgrades i can get later.
