"Well, well, I see you're quite happy with yourself for answering a few questions," he said as he grabbed my English textbook, slipping through the pages. "Am here to wipe off that triumphant look you had earlier." Saying those words, he then tore my text book into two equal halves. I gasped. What has he done? He threw the textbook at me. "Now, that's the kind of expression I like to see." ____________________ Instagram @m1llie_official Facebook @Author Mildred

CONFRONTING MABLE

I was startled awake by a loud boom of thunder. I looked up at the time, it was some minutes pass six. I lazily climbed out of bed to prepare for school and noticed the heavy pattering of the rain on the closed windows. I sighed out before moving towards the bathroom.

The rain was drizzling by the time I got to school. I saw Lily in the hallway and called out to her. She stopped and waited for me to catch up with her. We both hugged the instant I was close.

"Thank you Lily for your advice. It helped me sort out things with my mum," I said in excitement.

"I'm happy you listened," she smiled at me.

I broke the hug as I said, "I want to see Mable. I need to know why she pushed me into the pool."

She looked confused, "I thought you said Rex..."

I cut her off. "Mr rude claimed he wasn't one of his pranks."

Lily nodded in understanding and then she took me to Mabel's class. On our way, I told Lily about my chat with Lisa and Diamond and even mentioned our slogan which she instantly grew envious of and said we should form ours too.

When we got to Mabel's class, we saw her chatting and laughing with some girls. As I approached them, their laughter soared.

"Just the person we were speaking of," she said sarcastically.

"Mabel I want to know why you pushed me into the pool?" I demanded calmly, although I was furious inside.

She frowned. "I told coach Harris it was an accident." She pouted and said in a baby voice, "what more do you want to know?"

The girls roared in laughter. I folded my hand across my chest glaring at her.

"You and I know is no accident, you did it on purpose. So spit it out, what do you have against me?" I said angrily.

"You won't get a peep from me. I already told you all it was an accident so don't you dare bring out words from my mouth," she spoke, moving towards me. She used her index finger to push my shoulder twice as she said, "you should stop looking for stories to map me out as a culprit."

Instead of getting more furious, I smiled. She looked at me as if I had a loose screw.

I calmly said, "I see what the problem is now. You are afraid of me."

She blew a raspberry. "Of course not."

I smirked raising a brow. "Really?"

Mabel glared at me angrily. "If I was afraid of you I would have hidden away like a scared little puppy and won't be standing right in front of you."

The girls laughed. By now, our little ruckus had attracted the attention of other students in the classroom who giggled along.

I looked at her from head to toe. "You aren't running away because you are trying to feign a tough front for your friends." I sang the next part, "deep, deep, down, Mabel is so very, very scared."

"I can smell fear all over you Mable," Lily added to spite her.

Mabel stomped her foot angrily. "I'm not afraid of you and do you know why? It's because I purposely caused those accidents to you and my friends know about it. They are all laughing at you because you are an ignorant fool and a weakling."

Mabel chuckled while the others laughed and I joined in.

She looked at me confused. "Why are you laughing?"

"It's because I finally learnt the truth. I know you did this because Mr... I mean Rex told you to do it, didn't he?" I tried prying more information from her.

"Yeah! He told me to make sure you didn't take part in the tryout and this will guarantee my entry into the top five even if I don't make it but you stubbornly continued even after getting injured. Rex got angry and took the cheerleading uniform away from me even though I had passed and gave it to that stupid Kasey who ranked sixth. I became angry and decided to push you into the pool. I thought if I hurt you again, Rex would give me back the uniform but no, he didn't," she finished in annoyance.

"You almost killed me Mabel," I pointed out while struggling to accept it.

"Maybe if you had died, Rex would have been happy and give the uniform back to me," she screamed.

"That does it," Lily said, gritting her teeth before giving her a sound slap on the cheek.

Mabel stood rooted holding her cheek. I was dumbfounded. She would have killed me all because of the obsession of being among the top five. I made a mad rush towards her, ready to beat her into a pulp. I had only grabbed a handful of her hair when Lily held me back, asking me not to fight else I will get suspended. I took deep breaths, calming down and she finally let me go.

I turned to Mabel with a darkened gaze and sternly said, "you better be weary of me Mabel or you wouldn't like what I would do to you the next time we cross paths."

I shoved my way out of the crowd of students with Lily following closely behind.

"This means you owe Rex a thank you. He saved your life," she suggested.

I abruptly stopped. "I will never say thank you to Mr rude. He instigated Mabel in the first place, so why should I thank him?"

In that moment, I saw Mr rude coming towards us, his headphone hung around his neck and his two hands in his pocket. What does he want this time around?

He stopped right in front of me with a cocky smile. "Hey, follow me!" He commanded.

I scoffed. You say jump and I jump, like as if. Keep dreaming on!

"Why should I?" I asked, tilting my head to the side.

He smirked. "Do not question me. I'm trying to do just as you said, increasing my game. So come with me this instant."

My face paled and I tensed up. "I won't. I refuse going anywhere with you."

He shrugged and said, "okay."

I relaxed but the next thing I knew he grabbed my hand and pulled me along.

"Let go of me," I screamed trying to pull my hand away from his but boy, was he too strong!

He acted as if I hadn't said a word and continued pulling me along with him. Lily became so nervous and tried stopping him but I shook my head at her. She immediately understood and followed along worriedly.

What is Mr rude up to this time around? I'm literally scared of what he had planned out. God help me!
