Chapter 3: The Heavenly Sword Palace

As Su Yang looked at his status screen he found that he had broken through to the 4th stage of the Bronze Realm.

And he had gotten some extra attribute points probably from his 4 small breakthroughs.

"Hmm... what should I do where do I allocate these points." Su Yang considered all the stats and their benefits carefully.

"I think I should raise my Comprehension as it is quite low and it is difficult to understand some parts of the Sun Asura Scripture." Su Yang said as he put 3 points into comprehension.

Su Yang felt some changes in his mind after he had allocated 3 points to the comprehension stat, He felt as though his mind had become clearer and his thought process was also a bit faster.

"Wow so I guess this is what happens when I allot points to comprehension but this feeling of raising comprehension feels a bit weird it's like my brain was separated from my body for a few seconds." Su Yang said as he felt a bit weird after raising his comprehension.

After this Su Yang left the secluded place and headed towards his normal place to sleep which was the street opposite the brothel.

As he got there he saw two youths from the snake sabre school of martial arts coming out of the brothel and talking about something which was pretty interesting.

"Senior brother is what you said really true." The younger one said as he looked at his senior brother.

"Yeah it is the truth I heard it from one of our instructors that the Heavenly Sword Palace disciples will be coming to our kingdom for a Dao root test where anyone can enter." The older one said with excitement.

"If it really is true then we should head there right now to try our luck as well." The younger student said.

Su Yang who heard all this was surprised but he was excited at the same time, after all who in this world didn't want to enter an immortal sect and cultivate. This was the dream of every mortal in the kingdom.

Su Yang estimated that he would probably pass the Dao root test after all he had the status screen so he could already tell that he had a Dao root.

What Su Yang was worried about was that he wouldn't make it in time or they wouldn't allow a beggar like him to take the test.

As such Su Yang hurried and followed the 2 young martial artists while keeping a distance.

Half an hour later.

After following them for half an hour Su Yang finally saw a castle that had a huge platform in front with 3 long lines of youths looking at the platform.

He quickly ran inside a castle when a guard stopped him. Su Yang thought that this guard would stop him from going in but to his surprise the guard just handed him a wooden plaque with 3 - 17 written on it.

Su Yang quickly understood that he had to go to last place in the third line.

After he got to his position he looked at the platform to fund there was no one there to take the test there was only a crystal ball.

Su Yang had to wait for 1 whole hour and in that time another 4th line had formed which consisted of 18 youths. It looked like only 20 youths can be in 1 line.

Finally after a whole hour a middle aged man appeared in purple robes " Let the Dao Root Test Begin." That's all that the man said and then sat on a chair waiting for the participants.

As the first one in the 1st line went up the platform he had a nervous expression as he placed his palm on the crystal ball which shone a light brown color even if it was really small.

At this moment the man in purple robes spoke "Lowest Grade Earth Dao Root : not chosen, Next."

Hearing this the youth cried and ran off from the stage.

After this the second youth from the 1st line came up and placed his hand on the crystal but nothing happened and the inspector of the exam again spoke up "Mortal Grade Dao Root, not chosen, Next."

To which the second youth just stood there in despair until the guards had to take him away.

After this the rest of the youths before Su Yang got on the platform but only 4 of them were selected, out of them 3 had low grade Dao Root and 1 had mid grade Dao Root. One of the low grade ones had the same dual Dao Roots as him only his were of Yin and Wood.

When Su Yang's turn came he went up to the platform with steady steps and placed his hand on the crystal ball which after a few moments shined crimson red and clear blue simultaneously but the lights of course weren't that big and were only peanut sized.

At this moment the inspector didn't say anything and kept looking at Su Yang with a pondering look on his face.

To which Su Yang actually got a bit scared after all this person was connected to the Heavenly Sword Palace so there was a 90 percent chance that he was a cultivator and if he is looking at him because he did something wrong than he's fu**ed.

At this moment the man got up from his chair and leaned forward looking directly into Su Yang's eyes.

"You...
