Ascension of the Dragon God

On an ordinary day, Kyrios Michaels, a typical 20-year-old college student, is suddenly overwhelmed by memories of his future self—a legendary figure known as Heaven's Hound from another timeline. These memories reveal the imminent descent of mana, an event orchestrated by the universe's consciousness, known as the Heavenly Dao. Endowed with only limited recollections due to his future self's merits, Kyrios gains a rare chance to awaken his latent powers ahead of everyone else. As he navigates this extraordinary transformation, Kyrios embarks on a thrilling journey from being a mere student to a mighty dragon god. Warning Notice: This is a work of fiction. Heavenly Hound

"... and that's all for today's lecture. Remember to submit your assignment by Friday and to study for the test you're writing on May 30th," said the lecturer.

The sound of books and writing utensils being packed could be heard throughout the lecture hall as a young man with above-average looks, being a little over 185 cm (6 ft1) with a slightly muscular build and having strikingly piercing black eyes, could be seen sighing. "Ahh, finally done for the day," he said.

Walking off of the hall, Kyrios headed to the campus gate, heading to his home. While walking, he took out his phone with a cracked screen and checked his banking app.

"Account Balance: $459"

"I wonder what I'm going to do about next month's rent", he muttered. "Should I try getting another part-time job at that new café that just opened up?" he thought as he entered his 1-bedroom apartment and setting off his bad.

Afterwards, he took off his clothes and played some lo-fi music before heading to the shower.

"Maybe I should try playing the lottery", he mused. "Maybe that will sort out my financial situation."

After a quick shower to save water, he went to small fridge to take some leftovers to warm up. It was simple rice with sautéed vegetables and rotisserie chicken from the store. Afterwards, he went to his study table and opened up his worn-out laptop to read the latest chapters of My Three Wives Are Beautiful Vampires to see what new shenanigans Victor gets up to.

Suddenly, he falls off his chair while screaming as he feels an overwhelming pain that comes from the depths of his soul.

"AAAAAAAH!" he yelled as he lay on the ground in fetal position while clenching his chest.

While this was happening, time seemed to stop as everyone and everything in the universe stopped, and the colour of everything seemed to fade out and turn black and white. Except for the still-screaming Kyrios and another man who was standing next to him wearing a worn-out black armour made of metal unknown to this world with tiny golden runes dimly shining, a worn-out cape that's stained with what looks like centuries-old blood, and a large black Tang Dao with golden accents floating next to him. This man could be assumed to be an older version of Kyrios from the resemblance they share, if you ignore his scar-ridden face, which looks like someone was carving his face with every sharp weapon known to men, and his long, unkempt beard and hair. Black swirling clouds begin to form in the sky above Kyrios apartment, and a gigantic golden eyeball appears in the clouds, looking at the two men.

"Stop whining." A hoarse voice could be heard from the man as he approached Kyrios. "I can't believe I was this weak back then."

A shining green glow could be seen emitting from the man's outstretched arm that covered Kyrios.

"W-what is this warm feeling?" thought Kyrios as he felt the pain he was feeling decline. "And what are these memories in my head?" he muttered.

"That's what will happen after 10 years," said the man as he made himself comfortable on the chair.

"What?" "In the future?" "WAIT! "Who are you?" said Kyrios in a high-pitched voice that one could not believe came from him. He was surprised to see someone else in the room with him, as he was sure he had locked the door and heard what the man said about the memories that appeared out of nowhere.

"Me?" the man asked as he stood up and released a divine yet malicious aura. "I am known by many names, but if I were to choose one to introduce myself, then I am known by many gods, devils, demons, divine beasts, and immortals as the Heavenly Knight of the Heavens, Harbinger of Divine Retribution, and Heavenly Hound of the Heavenly Dao. I am Kyrios Michaels."
