In peaceful times, people ask if you have a car, a house, what your job is like.

In the apocalypse, they ask if you have supplies, if the shelter is unsafe, what your strength level is.

Turns out, with Howard's wealth of supplies, he didn't even get a chance to show off before Nina unexpectedly deviated from the norm.
