Sports Festival Part 5: Next Round - Holding Back

Round 2:-

1st match: Eijiro Kirishima VS Katsuki Bakugo

2nd match: Hana Hayashi VS Izuku Midoriya

3rd match: Tenya Iida VS Shoto Todoroki

4th match: Fumikage Tokoyami VS Mina Ashido

My next fight was with Midoriya. I could tell he was nervous but I was not going to lose. I would hold back enough for him to shine.

I trained my mind after the fight with Shino. I found a weakness. That weakness was all over live TV so I have to turn it into my strength. I went into the system and bought the skill called 'Block'. I updated it before going outside for my match. We were both being introduced by Present Mic when I sweetly said to the anxious Midoriya, "Midoriya, as important you are to me I will beat you. So don't hold back and make your families proud."

I turned emotionless and realized a little aura to show I was serious but not enough to affect him. Midoriya now looked determined and said, "I won't hold back as my sister is watching after all." I flinched as he called me his sister. Our classmates, especially Bakugo, were all confused as they knew Midoriya didn't have a sister. "BEGIN!!!!!" Present Mic scream snapped me out of the heartfelt moment into a battle.

The crowd could feel the tension between us and were interested. Our class which thought we were in a relationship were intrigued and All Might was seeing us fight even for a festival was distressed. Seeing that Midoriya was hesitant to attack, I ran and punched him in the guts. He fell to his knees but noticing my next attack dodged and distanced himself. I wickedly smiled and attacked him.

We fought without Midoriya using OFA but he lost soon as I was clearly stronger. He then used his quirk to attack me indirectly. The shockwave pushed me back but I stopped an inch from the boundary and launched myself at the vulnerable Midoriya who was injured from his own attack. I pushed him back, acting as if I was having a hard time and won. Midoriya knew I dragged out the fight and held back a lot to make him shine as he passed out with a smile.

All Might who also knew this smiled and was glad his daughter cared for Midoriya. I walked back with Momo's help and the entire class followed. As soon as we were out of the public's eye I let go of Momo and walked to my phone to praise myself for acting so well. The class who saw me go from severely injured to perfectly fine were speechless until Todoroki asked about, well, my acting.

"I could quickly beat Midoriya since using his quirk was dangerous for him which would be bad for his reputation so I acted as if he put on a good fight." "Will you do that for us?" "What?! No! Midoriya can't use his quirk. Why would I act so greatly for you when there is a chance I could lose." My response made them feel better but some of them still felt that I had been holding back the entire festival and would continue to do so.

It was finally time for my math with Bakugo. He warned me and cursed at the crowd cheering for me. 'He will never change.' I thought and got ready to fight. Bakugo will grow to be very strong but I may be able to beat him right now as long as I am smart. He is a good fighter even when provoked due to natural instincts but I am a natural fighter who is calculative.

Winning should be easy as long as I keep my aloof demeanor. The more angry he is, the more he will focus on beating me rather than the boundary rules and that will be his downfall. I got ready to fight. I had reanalyzed the growth of everyone I could. I knew their strengths, weaknesses and tricks. They have no element of surprise but I do. The fight started and Bakugo was going to blast a bomb right in my face.

I quickly dodged and pushed him by kicking his side. *Boom* The fight started again but Bakugo's explosions were not a match for me and he was getting ready to use his new move. Knowing I can't beat that without going out of bounds rather than being defensive I attacked first which was a shock as I normally didn't attack.

Bakugo, who was caught off guard, was pushed back. But I didn't stop. The sudden rain of punches cased Bakugo to go into a defensive mode. He tried to block but my speed and strength overpowered him in terms of combat. As soon as he was pushed outside I stopped attacking. Everyone was confused why I stopped and noticed Bakugo was outside the battle circle.

He became irritated and started cursing. I smiled at him and said, "It was a good fight Kacchan." All his anger immediately washed away. He didn't even react to being called Kacchan, rather he was happy about it. He obviously masked it with irritation but those who knew him could see he was happy. All the boys in the stadium wished they were in Bakugo's place. Fate was cruel. I walked back to the room and was showered with praises and Bakugo was teased by Kirishima.
