Chapter 12: light argument 1

Training room of the Black Moon guild.

In the Sandy red field stood the dark blue haired guild master David wearing a black and grey training GI, next to him was the young demon knight in training Remi also wearing a blue training GI.

David was training Remi in the arts of Yoruba swordsmanship, a style from their previous world advanced with this fantasy world's mechanics.

David was going against what he's fellow guild masters wanted and also a few nobles weren't in favor of Remi getting stronger.

However David had already taken responsibility for the boy, and teaching him the basics would help him keep the demon of wrath at bay.

"Haaaa!.....haaaa!.....haaaa!" Remi swung an odd double-edged sword one side was dark gray while the other side was sparkling silver.

His training involved him leaving two vertical slashes on a tree while switching the side of his sword without destroying it.

David made him do this to master accuracy and concentration, but also to get a feel of his new sword.

"Your new sword is an Abara, used by the Ika people in Delta State, however it also has a strange magical feature being that the silver side is lighter than the gray side, making for quicker slashes" David explained.

"While the gray side gives you heavier and more powerful slashes, learning to control that is essential" David finished.

"I've got it!, I've got it!, Haaaah haaah haaaahhhh!", 'craccck!!!' Remi answered annoyed and ended breaking the log into 3 separate parts.

Remi grimished at his own lack of control and David just thought to himself (how troublesome).

"Sighhhhhhhh...., That's enough for today let's go eat" davis insisted.

"Ahhh right!, I've got that covered!" Remi dropped his sword and ran towards the main room.

"Wonder what's that's about?" David scratched his head.

Main hall

"I present a Remi original, bone wheat sandwiches with dire cow beef!" Remi revealed a plate full of gray bread with purple meat in between them with yellow sauces dripping off.

"What?" David was stunned by the visuals alone.

"The hell are you trying to feed our captain punk!" Ayat the buff tank of the guild grabbed Remi by his shirt collar.

"Some food duh!" Remi responded with a pissed off face.

"oh oh oh, how did you make it, is it really edible?" Susu asked energetically.

"Let me!, First we sprinkle undead skeleton bone dust on normal wheat crops making them gray colored, then we harvest it like normal and bake the dough into bread, then the meat is from those huge hairy monster cows and the sauce is horned wasp nectar, sour and sweet, it's edible I've tried it" Edward said with pride.

"You only helped in gathering the material! You shouldn't be so smug!" Remi said as he escaped Ayat's grip.

"you know what, I hardly care anymore" David reached for one and took a bite 'chomp'.

"Hmmm? I expected it to be horrible, but this is actually decent" David looked surprised again.

"Did you think I was trying to poison you?!" Remi looked offended.

"you're...R....rucky.....R...rou didn't R.....runk" Ayat says as he stuff's his mouth with 3 sandwiches.

"You guys really piss me off!" Remi proclaimed.

"Wohahaha who doesn't piss off the demon of wrath? Hahaha" Susu laughed as she also ate a sandwich.

"grrrrrr" Remi's face turned red again as he was still pissed by his new guildmates.

"Come on sir, eat before I finish it all" Edward said as he was already eating his 5th serving.

"Damn it Ed!" Remi also rushed to eat some of his sandwiches.

Remi had finally decided his main meals would be something not only demon's can consume but also human can enjoy as well he called these "Monster Meals" "MMs".

However a member of the guild wasn't having this, the receptionist Basil, someone firmly against Remi had ordered some food elsewhere.

'Knock knock knock' the doors of the guild sounded.

"Yes my delivery is here" basil said as he jumped from her post and ran towards the door, with Remi looking at her with disdain in his eyes.

The doors open and a white skinned girl with 4 men wearing white uniforms with the symbol 'w' on it, came in.

She had shoulder length blonde hair with the drills style cut she looked about Remi's age and their height were the same, her golden dress also had the "w" symbol on it.

"Wow what a surprise I didn't expect the heiress of the Weiss company to show up" basil was dumbfounded.

"heiress of Weiss?" Remi also looked confused.

"In this kingdom the biggest catering service is the Weiss company headed by headed by Louis Weiss and his only daughter Genevieve Weiss" Edward whispered to his friend.

"Hmmmm, big deal" Remi continued to eat his sandwich.

"I was bored of staying in the mansion, so I accompanied some deliveries to fun places" Genevieve said as he swiped her hair to the left.

"well it's nice to meet you in person(bloody brat, some of us have to work for a living damnit!)" Basil said with a smile hiding her displeasure.

Basil collected a basket of crepes and the oldest looking delivery man said

"Heiress i think it's time we go"

"Wait a bit let me see the guild people!" Genevieve ran towards David and the others.

"Morning guild master and others" Genevieve tried to sound humble but ended up sounding snobbish.

"Sighhhhhhhh yo" David said nonchalantly.

"Good to see you heiress!" Ayat said with energy

"Yo! yo! yo!" Susu said smiling still wearing her black shades.

Edward was too nervous to speak so instead he bowed his head, while Remi just raised his hand while still eating.

Genevieve took notice to the gray bread and laughed "buhahahah, is that clay or something what's wrong with the color?".

"The hell?" A vein appeared on Remi's forehead.

"I mean can you really call this food it looks like garbag..." Before she could finish Remi had already tried to grab her.

"Sir!" Edward tried to stop his friend but something else did.

{Light magic: silk cacoon} Genevieve uttered these words with a smile and in seconds tiny yellow treads enclosed her in a cacoon dome.

As Remi's hand made contact with it he was repealed like a magnet.

'crashhh!' Remi had crashed near Basil's station making her drop her crepe on the ground due to fear.

"Light magic gyahhhhh!" Edward shouted on fear.

"I think it's best we go now heiress!" Another delivery man said.

"Yah I believe that's for the best I hate my guild getting messed up like this" David Said releasing an intense Aura.

"Well, I'll drop this here, if that angry fellow is proud of this mess he can try his luck at the annual Weiss cook off, this weekend" Genevieve smiled as she handed Edward a red flyer and walked out of the guild with the delivery men, saying "That was so fun!".

"Sighhhhhhhh, the younger they are the crazier they are, Ayat, Susu clean this mess up" David ordered as he referred to the damage caused by Remi's fall.

"Grrrrahoow" Remi regained consciousness and immediately felt pain in his right hand.

The injury was healing very slowly and the burn looked worse than it did when fire burnt his hand before.

"Sir you should be careful around light magic user, their magic is like poison to demon's" Edward warned his friend as he helped him up.

"Grrrrrr, guess beating her up ain't an option, but I know the next best thing" Remi said holding up the flyer.

"You aren't seriously considering the cook off are you?" Ayat asked as he moved a broom around the ground.

"Ohhhh, I smell something mischievous brewing, hehehe!" Susu laughed again as she dusted the halls.

"A demon wants to enter a cooking contest? Now I've seen everything" Basil sarcastically said while rolling her eyes.

"Shut up! I'm not just entering I'm going to win the whole thing! Come on Ed!" Remi shouted as he headed to Swampfort with Edward behind him.

Weiss district

Castle town was the largest town in the Diora kingdom therefore it was spilt into 4 regions north being home to the famous Weiss company,

South, where the international port was for fast travel to other kingdoms,

East was where the Bird cage was so it was a crime district.

And finally west was where the knights barracks were located.

This was Remi and the wrath party, first time in this area where multiple nobles lived.

"Amazing! I never thought I'd get to see this place ever!" Valerie the hobbit smiled as she swung her braided pigtails round.

"Good thing we dressed for the occasion" Edward said as he dusted off his second hand brown suit while Valerie also had a purple dress on and big boots to cover her hairy feet.

Only Remi still wore his casual blue and yellow shirt with his Abara by his side cause he didn't care what the nobles thought of him.

"Let's show these nobles what real cooking is all about!" Remi said as he carried a huge bag of ingredients on his back and walked towards a big yellow building.

Annual cook off stage

The stage was huge with multiple people competing against each other, Remi would have to win 4 times In a row before Facing Genevieve.

A stage lit up with bright light, the right corner had Remi, Edward and Valerie wearing white chef uniforms while on the left corner was an old white skinned man with a long mustache.

A man with a long red nose stepped in front of the audience and said "let's go people I'm your host Fazz! Starting another preliminary round of the tournament, we have the head chef of the woodwork restaurant! Mr Wunn Vs the owners of a shabby swamp restaurant Wrath party!" The crowd went wild most of their cheers going to  Wunn though.

"The wrath demon!", "why is that monster here?", "His not trying to poison the judges is he?" The crowd said but Remi and co we're gradually getting used to the taunts.

"Our judges for today are 3 well known chefs in the Weiss company

Mr Colin, Miss Katel and Mr Vitus."

The 3 judges all wore white and waved to the audience, while Remi wondered if they would judge his food by appearance alone.

"Alright the dish to be made is to have a breakfast theme, chefs start!" Fazz shouted

The time limit was an hour but this was a walk in the park for the wrath party, Remi handled the cooking, Edward handled the measurements and Valerie handled the washing and peeling.

"Time's up!" Fazz shouted and both Wunn and Remi we're done.

"I present to you the soft oak oatmeal with lime leaf topping.

The judges each had their own plate and proceeded to eat.

"This is good, it certainly lives up to the name soft oak, the lime topping adds to the taste as well" Colin said with a smile.

"I agree it's really good however I feel that maybe instead of just the topping lime extract could have been used with the whole dish" Katel said as she removed the spoon from her mouth.

"My issue with it is that it's cold, unless you're over 60 I doubt it's possible to enjoy cold oatmeal" Vitus said with and angry face.

"Well that's what the judges had to say about Mr Wunn's dish, next is..... The demon's dish hehehe" Fazz said laughing.

"This is the standard bone wheat pancakes with horned wasp Nectar as the syrup!" Remi said with his usual strain expression.

The judges looked at each other, the dish looked inedible, gray pancakes and pure yellow syrup looking like paint.

However sending him away would be too depressing so with iron stomachs they ate the pancakes.

"Gushaaaaaaaaaa!" Vitus let out a strange moan and the other judges did the same.

"What this now?!" Fazz was surprised and so was Wunn and the audience.

"Hehehe" Edward and Valerie smirked while Remi looked only a bit smug.

"How is that possible somehow it's both cold and hot?" Vitus asked.

"The texture of the pancakes is brilliant and added with the sweetness of the nectar, unexpected" Colin expressed.

"Madness it looks horrible yet taste so good from the crunchy cakes to the warm nectar impossible!" Katel shouted.

"May I try some?" Winn brought a fork and took a bite.

"guwhaaaa, imposssi..." His face was red and his nose bleed, the feeling of ecstacy entered his body making him faint.

"That's a bit extreme!" Remi shouted as he looked at Wunn.

"I want more..." Edward looked liked a possessed man.

"Later let them judge us first then we'll eat some more" Remi said as he held Edward back.

"Now it's time for the judges to decide!!!" Fazz shouted.

The judges both a red sign for Wunn amd a blue one for Remi. And to everyone's surprise only the blue sign was lifted by the jugdes.

"Incredible! The wrath party wins!!"

Fazz shouted.

"Yayyyyyyy!" Valerie shouted and jumped happily.

"We Did it, we actually won a round!" Edward's eyes began to water.

"Don't sound so surprised dammit!" Remi shouted.

"It was an honor battling you even though you are a demon! You must teach me that recipe!" Winn shouted as he shook Remi around.

"It's gonna cost you man!" Remi had a devilish smile as he began to bargain with Wunn.

The competition continues but next time some unexpected demonic guest appear? Who could they be?
