Chapter 1

Every Targaryen king was taught to be wary of the delicate situation the Iron Throne faces, though they may have dragons, it cannot fight an unseen enemy. With the always overreaching houses in Westeros who plots and schemes to increase the influence of themselves, the Targaryens were also taught to be wary of foreign entities who wanted to exert their influence and power in Westeros. In the west, the old and enduring Alvan Dominion, which for years since the Conqueror came and unified the Seven Kingdoms has tried to liberate their Northern kin. The current ruler of the Dominion is Emperor Alexandros IV Ambry, who married a Stark of Winterfell, and like his predecessor had tried to influence the independence of the North for his beloved wife, who wishes for a free and independent North. On the east of the continent, in Essos there are two nations that fight one another to influence the entirety of the continent. The Sarnori-Lhazareen Empire, spans the northern Essos, has conquered and ended the Dothraki society, while in the south has risen the new Rhoynar Republics, who for years have rebuilt and reconquered their old territories and also the Republic have various colonies and territories in the Summer Islands and Sothoryos that made them a rivaling sea power against Braavos and Volantis. The Republic aspires to be a single unified nation of Rhoynar and to achieve that Dorne must be added to the fold since the Martells and some of Dornish houses have blood of the Rhoyne. The Empire has funded assassinations and armed multiple rebellions to various entities among the slaver cities and have tried to forge marriage alliances to not only the Royal House of the Iron Throne but also to powerful Great Houses.

As time passed by, the Targaryens are slowly losing their control and influence in the North this is due to a series of events that earned them the hate and anger of not just the Lords of the North but also its smallfolk. It started when the Good Queen Alyssane granted the lands of New Gift to the Night's Watch which coincides as the North's most arable land, it was then followed by Aegon III Targaryen scorning the Pact of Ice and Fire, a promise of a Targaryen bride to a Stark groom, which despite the North's role in the earlier years of the Dance of Dragons were largely ignored, the Targaryens then later forced the North to buy their grain from the Reach and Riverlands and made the North nearly bankrupt, the North then turned to their Alvan allies for trade. On the other hand, with the skillful diplomacy of Daeron II Targaryen had allowed them to obtain another kingdom and ally in the form of House Martell and Dorne which makes diplomacy to Republics tensed since the Rhoynar nation have tried to convince Dorne of the benefits of joining the Republic. The Empire at this time has remained in the sidelines because they are busy in dismantling the slave trade that ran in Essos.

The Targaryens truly lost their crown when Crown Prince Rhaegar abducted Lady Lyanna Stark and left a dying Prince Arcturus Ambry, the abduction was discovered when a handmaiden of Lady Lyanna discovered the dying Prince and dead Alvan soldiers and Stark men in the godswood of Harrenhal. Brandon Stark headed to King's Landing to ask the whereabouts of Prince Rhaegar and accuse him of kidnapping his sister and killing his cousin. The Mad King, Aerys II Targaryen, ordered Brandon and his company to be arrested and demanded Lord Rickard Stark to come to the capital, at this time Emperor Alexandros is still unaware of the death of his second son. As Lord Rickard defends the actions of his son and heir, which proved to be difficult as the Mad King refused to listen and called him a traitor to the crown. Rickard Stark called for a trial of combat which then Aerys answered that his champion will be wildfyre. As the Warden of the North burned and his son choked to death, he then ordered Lord Jon Arryn to deliver the heads of his wards, in a sense of loyalty to both his old friends, Rickard Stark and Steffon Baratheon, he called the banners and rebelled against the Targaryens and have smuggled Eddard Stark to the North while Robert Baratheon called for the support of the Houses of Stormlands. Both Jon Arryn and Robert Baratheon faced loyalists in their own domains. Eddard Stark upon returning to the North met his cousin, Crown Prince Artorius Ambry, at Moat Cailin who was informed on the death of his younger brother and from there banners of the North have descended and gathered at the Moat. His cousin has brought with him the Alvan Third Army and their premiere canons, which would the Royalists forces meet and suffer for the first time in the Battle of Stony Sept. When the Republic and Empire learned the presence of Dominion forces at the side of rebels, both of them have sent support to the Crown, while the Republic provided more support to their Dornish kin by sending soldiers, weapons and ships, the Empire gave aid to the Targaryens and Crownlands hoping to secure a marriage alliance with the royal family.

The presence of foreign soldiers and ships entering and sailing into Westeros have made the high born and smallfolks wary of them. The Ironborn was prevented from entering and raiding the waters and coastlines of western regions of the North by Dominion fleet, and in their eastern region, Alvan mercantile ships moored at Braavos and Pentos sailed to defend and patrol those waters alongside the Manderlys. The Imperial vessels alongside the Redwyne fleet have blockaded and sieged Storm's End while ships from the Republic patrolled Dornish waters. Lord Connington, Hand of the King, remarked that should the royalists emerge victorious, the North will declare its independence with the full support of the Dominion and the supporting foreign powers will demand various favours that will weaken the hold of House Targaryen and should they lose Robert Baratheon will overthrow House Targaryen and establish the new Baratheon dynasty and Dorne may be finally convinced to join their Rhoynish cousins in the Republic and a Martell will represent Dorne in the Conclave of Princes. While Lord Connington will be eventually defeated at the Stony Sept and exiled by the Mad King, the climax of the rebellion will reach its end at the Battle of the Trident. Here for the first time, armies from the Dominion, Republic and Empire will face each other in a foreign soil. The maesters preferred to call the rebellion as the Great Foreigner's War, due to the amount of troops and supplies sent to aid both sides of the war, rather than what the rebel and loyalist houses called it, Robert's Rebellion. At the Trident it was the new artillery of the Dominion that broke the Empire-Republic lines, and while they withraw with discipline, the duel between the Stag and Dragon had begun. The bulk of the loyalists have held the combined might of the Riverland-Stormland-Vale center, the charge of the famed Blackguards of the Alvan Third Army and the Northern cavalry truly broke them and seperated the Prince from his army, while the remaining Kingsguards, Barristan Selmy and Lewyn Martell, tried to defend their prince the former was stopped by his wounds and the latter was killed by Ser Lyn Corbray, with his Valyrian Steel sword, Lady Forlorn. Robert Baratheon has killed his cousin as his warhammer dug deeply into the Prince's armor. The death of the Prince has ended the war then and there, while the battle rages on, the Old Lion has been roused from the Rock and marches to King's Landing.
