Pregnant?

Since Cathleen's sudden decision, the girl has spent the week completing all of her projects.

Including some projects that had due dates in the next week, she had to organize in such a way that all her projects could be completed this week.

Quite often she chooses to spend her time at the office without going home at all, like today!

Cathleen chose to stay overnight at the office!

A slightly pale face with hair that cannot be said to be neat can be seen from the appearance of the girl who is still struggling with her laptop screen that repeatedly repeats the design she has designed.

To be honest, her body felt weak, not to mention for some reason she felt nauseous that she couldn't explain.

"Did I eat wrong?" Cathleen whispered as she gently rubbed her stomach, before continuing with what she was doing before.

Drops of sweat dripped down her forehead. She felt like she wanted to take a break, but her determination to finish her work was too great and made her ignore it.

The ringing of the phone suddenly broke her focus.

Cathleen lazily picked up her cell phone which hadn't moved from her desk since a few hours ago, and picked up the phone.

Cathleen snorted as someone on the other end of the line called her.

"Are you still at the office?"

"Hng, what's wrong? Did you leave something at the office?" asked Cathleen lazily answering the question from her friend, not to mention her condition which she realized was not as fit as usual.

"Tsk, I wonder why you're pushing yourself Cath? I never told you to finish everything in a few days. I'm not a cruel person who would leave you alone Cath," said Fred whose best friend's voice Cathleen had to admit was getting louder and clearer nearby.

Until...

The girl's eyes met the young man who had just called her with a goodie bag in his hand.

Suddenly Fred's eyes rounded perfectly to find that his best friend had come back to the office.

"Cath, are you alright? Why is your face so pale?" asked Fred who immediately realized Cathleen's condition was far from good.

"Me?" confused Cathleen who was still trying to evade Fred's words. She honestly had no idea that she looked like that in Fred's eyes.

Fred twisted his eyes in disbelief at Cathleen's answer. Wasn't it obvious that Cathleen was not fine?

"Well, you'd better finish all this work. You should rest for a while, and eat the food I brought you and then you'd better go home. You should get some well-deserved rest Cath."

Silence...

Cathleen was silenced by Fred's demanding words to her. Oh come on, wasn't what she was doing right now because she had no intention of imposing her work on her best friend?

Then why did Fred not seem to be on her side?

"But Fred-" Cathleen's words trailed off when she saw Fred busy shaking his head while holding her shoulder with his free hand, because the goodie bag he had brought earlier had been placed on the table.

Inevitably, Cathleen could only say yes reluctantly.

She honestly didn't like what Fred had just done to her.

Cathleen wasn't a teenage girl who didn't know what she was capable of, she was a mature girl with a mature mind, and let's not forget that she was also an ambitious and thoughtful girl.

In the middle of Cathleen being forced to follow Fred's words suddenly her stomach felt more and more unbearable pain.

"Hey, what's wrong, are you okay? What time did you last eat?" asked Fred persistently.

Cathleen didn't answer, just busy biting her lip trying to endure the pain that she didn't have time to express to Fred - her friend.

Not wanting to linger too long, Fred took the initiative to carry Cathleen without caring about the girl's movements which of course were actually resisting him.

"You need to be examined Cath,"Fred spoke in an uncharacteristically cold tone.

.

.

Several times Fred seemed to sigh softly and rubbed the nape of his neck which didn't itch.

Honestly, a feeling of worry and anxiety clouded his heart.

"I shouldn't have let her put that much effort into her body."

Fred closed his eyes for a moment before opening them again after hearing the call of the doctor examining Cathleen in the emergency room.

"How is my best friend?"

"Ah, you're not her husband?"

"Husband?"

The nod of the head that the doctor gave as he looked at the doctor who was previously in charge of Cathleen's examination.

"No, Cathleen is my best friend, but she's like my sister. What's wrong doctor?"

For a moment the doctor seemed to consider Fred's words.

"The baby is safe, it's just risky if the mother is too dehydrated like she is right now. This could be bad for the baby if not taken care of properly."

Fred's eyes were perfectly rounded. This was not the kind of news he had expected from the doctor.

He wanted to throw a perfect fist at Jedd - a jerk who should be blacklisted.

"Take good care of Cathleen and the baby. I think she's been so busy with her work that she's forgotten to take care of herself."

The doctor in front of Fred nodded his head and told Fred that it would be a while before Cathleen could be moved to the inpatient ward.

"Okay, thank you. Ah, can I visit Cathleen?"

Without further ado, the doctor invited Fred to see his friend.

.

.

Fred's eyes were busy watching Cathleen's face, which still looked a little pale. But it looked better than before.

'Do you know your true condition Cath?' Fred monologued in a mind that doubted that his best friend knew the physical condition in which Cathleen had been pregnant.

The sound of dripping IVs that could now only be heard filled the silence inside Cathleen's VIP inpatient room.

The emotions that previously seemed like a bomb about to explode were now beginning to be controlled.

Luckily Fred can still use his common sense well, without rushing to do silly things that Cathleen herself might not want.

After all, Fred's current status was only as a friend who was obliged to support Cathleen in making decisions about the life that the girl would later live alone.

'I hope you're not startled and can be wise in whatever you decide Cath.'
