A Reincarnator's Journey

David Valor, a normal sophomore student, dies in a cliche 'truck-kun' accident just to get sent to another world by the system! Using the 'true' system, he slowly rises to the top of the food chain before truly begining his adventure! (David may not be a "Good" Mc as I want to write it in a way of what I would do if I was in this situation myself. Of course there will also be some things different than what I think as well.) *** Note: I have no real plans for this story, it was made on a whim, so it may lose quality on the way, please read with caution! Schedule: I'm still in school so updates will also be somewhat slow, also, english is not my first language so please comment if I wrote something wrong! Thank you for reading!

Tutoring! (1)

"Hello, I'm looking for David and Bennett Vale... are they here yet?" It wasn't a grand entrance, but it was fine. The front door opened, revealing...

Mr. Cunningham, a man in his mid-40s. He had short messy brown hair and eyes. His eyebrows were very thin, and his eyes were slightly drooping, giving him a sharp aura just by looking at his face. He had very little facial hair, just a goatee with everything else shaved on the bottom part of his face. He wore large, black-rimmed glasses, giving him a more intellectual aura to others.

Since the nobles at this time actually wore modern clothes to show their 'wealth', he wore a green coat, and a light grey buttoned vest, coupled with navy blue pants and brown laceless shoes. The coat wasn't buttoned, showing more of his build, giving him more of a retired but still experience adventurer vibe...

With a smile on his face, he greeted the two by bowing, "Hello, my name is Gerald Cunningham, I will be your new tutor for the month."

"My name is David Vale, nice to meet you, Mr. Cunningham." David bowed.

"Nice to meet you again, Mr. Cunningham." Bennett bowed as well.

He did hear how the one named David used to be a commoner, he was still surprised by his manners. It wasn't that it was submissive, it wasn't submissive at all, just humble with a slight tone of arrogance which is perfect when knowing that he's supposed to be a noble.

"Good, I've heard that you were just adopted to the Vale family, so I will go easy on you, don't worry." Mr. Cunningham smiled kindly.

"Thank you, teacher, but I am a noble now, and I believe that I should carry the pressure of one, especially of those at a high ranking." Although the novels were exaggerated, the Mcs that were able to live through those challenges were able to grow exponentially, might as well get used to some pressure, starting from this.

"Oh? Good! Good! I like that attitude of yours, come, come. Let's begin your first lesson." He snapped his finger, and a butler appeared, bowing, as he took Bennett to a different room.

The butler bowed towards Mr. Cunningham and walked towards Bennett, and bowed before him too.

As Bennett was used to this kind of training before, Mr. Cunningham had a close butler of his to help 'resharpen' his skills. David saw how Bennett was basically being dragged, earning a shake of disapproval from Mr. Cunningham.

Seeing how he was literally dragged, David did start sweating a bit but ignored the screaming coming from the other room.

'It's just practicing etiquette, right? It can't be THAT bad...' David thought, following Mr. Cunningham to the other study.

The First Hour...

Due to the schedule for both David and Mr. Cunningham, the lesson was only 1 hour long in the morning, and then he would come back in the afternoon to continue teaching him.

In the first hour, there wasn't much going on as it was his first lesson. There were subjects like bowing, talking, eating, drinking, dancing, etc.

There wasn't an introduction, just a Q & A session where David basically performed and asked some questions as Mr. Cunningham answered. An example was bowing at a 90-degree angle at most, each bow depends on the other party's status, wealth, etc.

There was also some other information that he had given David, like manners for eating, to take small and at most medium-sized bites, closed mouth while eating, try not to make sounds, if the person who cooked was good, complement them, etc. Dancing would be practiced later on, and the other stuff had their own subcategories as well.

As it was his first time, Mr. Cunningham was quite patient, though he didn't have to be since he did see how much talent was shown as David continued to improve at an incredible pace. Though, due to that, he did sometimes scold him as he did like such talents and began to truly want to teach him.

By the end of the first session, he already saw how his {Etiquette} skill had already risen by a level, showing Mr. Cunningham's skill. From his teachings, he also gained a new title as he was never taught by anyone in this world before, called {Genius}. The title gave him a +100% skill comprehension speed and overall memorization.

Seeing Bennett come out of the room with a slightly ragged look on him as if his soul came out of him, David was confused.

"Umm... you alright dude?" He patted his back, bringing him to his senses.

"... David!" Bennett jumped him and hugged him tightly.

"Uwah! What the hell? Was it that bad?" David questioned, he had quite the first impression on the etiquette that was taught during these times, it shouldn't be that bad... right?

"It was! I hate it!" Bennett hugged David harder, much to his disgust, making him instinctively push Bennett away.

"Yep, forgot that you're Bennett, the school jock..." David muttered, which was heard by Bennett.

"Hmph! You don't know how i-... Hmph!" Bennett shut himself up and just tried hugging David again, only to get shoved again.

Bennett looked at David with puppy dog eyes, as if he was a wife who was just abandoned by her husband. David sighed, and looked at him with obvious disgust before leaving him on the ground as he went to the kitchen to see what was for today's lunch.

Seeing that David was leaving, he quickly jumped off of the ground and followed him like an obedient puppy. David also saw his actions and raised a brow.

"Why are you following me?" David asked.

"I have nothing else to do... and, it's been a long time since I could hang out with you..." Bennett lowered his head, embarrassed to the point of blushing in shame.

"... hah... fine, you can follow me." David sighed, giving in to his antics.

Chapter 41 End...

For chapters like these, I'll keep them slightly shorter as I'm not too good with this type of stuff as it's technically supposed to connect with one whole day. (Which is like almost 3k+ words for me)

Anyway, hope you enjoyed today's chapter! <3
