A Reincarnator's Journey

David Valor, a normal sophomore student, dies in a cliche 'truck-kun' accident just to get sent to another world by the system! Using the 'true' system, he slowly rises to the top of the food chain before truly begining his adventure! (David may not be a "Good" Mc as I want to write it in a way of what I would do if I was in this situation myself. Of course there will also be some things different than what I think as well.) *** Note: I have no real plans for this story, it was made on a whim, so it may lose quality on the way, please read with caution! Schedule: I'm still in school so updates will also be somewhat slow, also, english is not my first language so please comment if I wrote something wrong! Thank you for reading!

Looking at the skill {Assimulate} in front of him, his eyes brightened.

'Op... op skill... this would definitely help with my progress, especially in the academy, they must have tons of resources including monster parts, magic orbs, and more!' he thought.

'Seems like I need to test it out since it didn't say anything about rank restrictions...' David already thought about how it would most likely reject any item that is below his own rank as "inadequate".

Instead of using the time to test it when he was in the academy, he wanted to see what it meant to the system to 'own' an item, without buying it, surely being gifted the items would count right? With this in mind, he wanted to see what resources his own family has, and see if it works at all.

There wasn't much to do at the moment, so to kill some time, David had taken around 20 minutes cleaning his entire room.

'Should be about time...' Looking at the cleaned room, David nodded and left to go to Ben's room to look at his condition.

Arriving at Sarah's room, he saw how Ben's complexion was much better than before.

Bennett was still beside him, hearing someone open the door, he smiled seeing it was David.

"Latest time he'll wake up is tomorrow morning, he's fine now." David said again, confirming to Bennett that father was really fine now.

As he was speaking, the door that was just closed opened again, revealing Sarah, who was just done with the paperwork today.

(A/N: Although the ritual was done, Sarah Vale, the mother, has to still make a document to the governors/ministers to confirm that David is her child. I totally didn't forget to write that a few chapters ago hahahaha...)

"Mom's here, let her take care of dad." Since Ben was still sleeping, and Sarah was here, David made a gesture, signaling Bennett to follow him.

Sarah noticed, smiling, and went to take two servants to help her take care of Ben. Nodding, Bennett followed David to his own room.

Sitting down on Bennett's bed, David asked, "I forgot to ask you, do you have any idea about the academy we're going to next month?"

"I... don't have much but I did visit it from time to time to get used to the area." Bennett replied, clearly able to see the shining eyes from David.

"... Alright, fine... I didn't enter the academy, so I have no idea what the interior looks like, but from the outside, it's quite huge."

"From the outside, you would see a large wall and an invisible barrier that would notify the teachers and the higher-ups, making it easier for everyone to see if a student is actually in school and just skipping or not."

"The amount of students that go into this school is small, but the only reason it is big is that the number of teachers and students are almost the same, meaning private lessons are quite available."

"Other than that, the only thing I know about is the uniforms of the students. The uniforms seem to be enchanted and cursed at the same time, where in a certain period of time, you can't take it off, but it does give pretty nice resistances."

"Anddd... that's about all I know." Bennett shrugged.

"I see... is there a certain standard to get in and fail?" David asked.

"As I said, what I just said is what I know, meaning we might as well be like those normal protagonists and just surprise everyone... right?" Bennett elbowed him, lifting his brows constantly.

With his twitching eyebrows, he said, "Sure... sureee..." clearly doubting him as he rolled his eyes.

Facing him again, David asked, "Oh yeah! Since your a noble for 15+ years now, can't you give me some tips to help me with my etiquette? I need to study with my etiquette teacher tomorrow so I can't train with you today."

"Mn? There's not really that much to learn about though, don't worry you'll be fine!" Bennett grinned while patting his back.

'Fair enough, we're both somewhat lazy.' David nodded. "... haaaaa... alright."

"... oh right, could you tell if you have a library somewhere?" David did want to get some information about the history, technique books, etc.

"Sure, you know where the office is, right? So there's going to be an open room around a few rooms next to it. You'll know when you find it." Bennett pointed out, clearly showing that he didn't like to go to the library in his own home.

"Ok, I'm going to the library then, what about you?" David asked.

"I'm bored, so I'm most likely going to be here playing around with my system." Bennett replied.

"Alright, see you!" David waved, leaving his room.

He went downstairs, going in the direction of the office. To the room next to it, there was a circular doorway, where there was a small library in it.

The library wasn't too small, but more like a private room as it had only four bookshelves to the left and right, a large table, and four wooden chairs. There was a window in front of him, giving some natural light to the library, the only light source other than the small ceiling light.

'A mini public library then? Doesn't seem like I'll get anything with magic/confidential.' he thought.

As he thought, there weren't many books about magic except for the basics, and even then, there's no way it could compare to the standard of a system.

Skimming over the books, overall, there wasn't much to look at. A good portion of them was actually novels, which did interest him slightly until it was mostly just some fairytale and legends of the ancestors who used to walk the world here.

Some of the fairytales were quite similar to the ones back on Earth. Like, Arthur and the sword in the stone, Cinderella, little red riding hood, etc.

For the other half of the books, they were about the history of the current kingdom they were in. To summarize, we are currently in the year 1514 AG, which was 1514 years after the first human to ascend into 'godhood'. (AG = After Godhood)

(A/N: The BC/AD thing works here too. Ex: BC 100 -> BC 99 after 1 year, Ad 100 -> 101 after 1 year.)

As historians and archeologists aren't so advanced, their ability to accurately retrieve information before the BG period is quite limited, only leaving the wars of the AG period intact. The mana in the world was able to recycle, yet also preserve the traces of battles and wars from the past, at least within the 2000 year range before it decays.

Summary: 91-102 AG - War of The Great Three -> 123 - 126 AG - Territorial War -> 127 - 550 AG - peace/unfounded period -> 600 - 633 AG - Formation of The Next Three Kingdoms -> 634 - 641 AG - 2nd Territorial War -> 656 - 661 AG - pea period -> 662 - 700 AG Demon/Beast War -> 701 - 710 AG - Recuperation Period -> 711 - 1000 AG - Near Extinction Period, Age of Transcendents -> 1001 - 1103 AG - Recuperation Period -> 1104 - 1216 AG - Territorial War -> 1217 - Now - Peace Period.
