**(Colosseum - Bennett)**
.
Bennett looked at the pile of swords in front of him.
"Why... why are we doing this again?" He scratched his head.
Gluri took his glasses off and sighed, "From the exam yesterday, you didn't last that long and there were many things about your overall technique that could be improved, so we're going back to the basics."
"Dang it... I knew I shouldn't have slacked off... sorry David..." He muttered under his breath.
Gluri's eyes gleamed, "Oh? Why would you slack off?"
'He heard that?' Bennett looked up in surprise.
"I... uh, no... comment?" Bennett picked up a wooden shortsword from the ground.
*Whoosh~*
The same wooden sword appears before Gluri.
"Well, since you were slacking off in your training, allow me to... help you." He smiled evily.
'Aw crap.' A small layer of cold sweat appeared on his back.
*Boom~*
'Whew... close one.' Bennett barely parried the strike that came in front of him.
He quickly stabilized his foot and blocked the next few strikes.
*Boom~ Boom~ Boom~*
Bennett was constantly blocking and parrying his strikes, but each time he did so, his form and overall technique became better each time.
Even Gluri could feel it, even if it was miniscule.
"It's great that you're... improving, but!" Gluri swung his sword.
*Crack*
Gluri saw a moment of shock from Bennett and swept his legs.
*Thud~ Whoosh~*
Before Bennett could even sit up, he felt something wooden on his neck.
'Fast...' Bennett complimented in his mind.
There was a small tap on his head, "Come on, stand up. Do something. Even if your enemy has a weapon to your neck, you can do something."
"Again." Gluri threw a wooden sword towards Bennett, replacing the broken one.
'This is gonna hurt.' Bennett picked up the training sword, and charged towards Gluri.
*Boom~ Boom~ Boom~*
They engage in a clash, on Bennett's terms of course.
Although Bennett was only in the second tier, he was on the verge of a breakthrough. Although... compared to humans back on Earth, he would already be in the supernatural zone, especially with his sub-system, giving him some extra bonuses.
*Whoosh~*
"Too weak!"
*Boom~*
"No conviction! Fight me like you want to kill me!"
*Boom~*
"Your stance is wrong!"
*Boom~*
"Don't let go of the sword!"
*Boom~*
"Do not hesitate, or you will die!"
*Boom~*
The last strike had sent Bennett flying into the wall of the colosseum.
'Yep, he's definitely frustrated at me. Ugh... that hurt' Bennett held his body that was aching in pain.
"Pick up your sword. Your enemy won't allow you any free time when it's about life or death." Gluri dashed.
Seeing him really about to hit him seriously, Bennett panicked, picking up the sword.
*Whoosh~*
In a split moment, Gluri was already in front of him, mid-swing, he was still within the realm of peak second tier so Bennett wouldn't be too injured.
Bennett's pupil dialated.
All he could see was the wooden sword in front of him. Although he knew it was fake, since Gluri decided to take the intensity up a notch, he felt an instinct that it was as sharp as a real sword.
It was getting closer, closer, and closer.
Seeing that it was even about to touch his nose, Bennett felt something rush inside of him, 'move... move... Move... MOVE!' Bennett gripped the sword tightly.
He was extremely focused on the sword in front of him, he even ignored the 'Ding~' notification from the system.
*Click*
He felt something click in him, he couldn't tell where, but he could feel that his body was much different from before.
It was painful, it was exploding... something was exploding!
*Boom~*
A sharp aura suddenly burst out of his body, engulfing Gluri.
'He's breaking through? Seems like the Vales really do have a great future with these two sons.' Gluri grinned.
Gluri's aura shot straight up to the early third tier to resist Bennett's sword-like aura, which was picking up some sand.
*Whoosh~*
A few seconds have passed, yet his energy had never disappeared, in fact, it was increasing even more instead of stabilizing.
'How long did he suppress his breakthrough for it to be this strong!?' Gluri was now truly shocked.
It was understandable, in this world, there were many different types of breakthroughs. There were breakthroughs in realms/tiers, insights, technique, things you would see in a regular cultivation novel.
As Bennett is one of the 'main' characters, of course, he would get some of that 'op' pie!
Gluri had to increase his aura to the peak to the early third tier in order to not be pushed away.
'Amazing! His potential is absolutely amazing!' Gluri slashed the air, instantly clearing the mini-sandstorm.
*Boom~*
As the colosseum was weakened from the use of over 15 students at the time since it also included classes outside of Mr. Gluri's class, now it was even easier to crack than the hospital David was in when he broke through.
On Bennett's side, yeah... it wasn't that different from David's breakthrough.
Bennett's aura lashed out everywhere and he was having quite the trouble trying to contain it, to control it.
'Fuck... this breakthrough is much worse than my other ones! And I thought breaking through from regular humans to tier 1 was bad!' Bennett groaned.
'And I thought David was kidding about breakthroughs once you've had a system!' Bennett broke the wooden sword in his grip.
Although he didn't feel his entire body breaking, just the feeling of being reformed was painful.
Slowly, he felt the rush of energy in his body calm down and stabilize itself.
The pillar of light had slowly disappeared, leaving a significantly large crater the size of... 25 to 30% of the inside of the colosseum.
Gluri slowly opened his eyes after a few seconds of calm and looked at the figure in front of him.
'A sixteen-year-old third tier! Genius!' Gluri was convinced of his talent.
Bennett clenched his fist, feeling the newfound power coursing through his body.
*Ding~*
