A Reincarnator's Journey

David Valor, a normal sophomore student, dies in a cliche 'truck-kun' accident just to get sent to another world by the system! Using the 'true' system, he slowly rises to the top of the food chain before truly begining his adventure! (David may not be a "Good" Mc as I want to write it in a way of what I would do if I was in this situation myself. Of course there will also be some things different than what I think as well.) *** Note: I have no real plans for this story, it was made on a whim, so it may lose quality on the way, please read with caution! Schedule: I'm still in school so updates will also be somewhat slow, also, english is not my first language so please comment if I wrote something wrong! Thank you for reading!

After tying his hair into a short ponytail, David looked at the cave in front of him.

"Is the cave big enough? Doesn't seem like I can use my staff here." He looked at his staff.

'No, the cave is just large enough for me to use my staff.' David measured the cave with his staff.

'Let's just get this over with.'

David knew his own strength, and he wanted to test against some hobgoblins.

Although he had helped Bennett level up fighting peak third-tier sandworms, they were too slow to make a real effort. So... even if the hobgoblins were 'weaker', they were at least faster and more intelligent.

He walked into the cave, with high expectations. Even if they weren't able to put as much pressure as Gluri did, maybe they could put up a decent fight... right?

No time to think about it, he needed to get this over with so that he could help the others.

Almost instantly after walking into the cave, he saw that there was an end.

'A dead end? No... there's something behind it.' David walked towards the 'dead end'.

*Crack~ Crack~*

*Crack~*

In an instant, the stone wall in front of him had shattered like glass, turning into dust.

At that same moment, an unpleasant sene and scent rushed at him.

David frowned, he saw the same scene that Sam's group had seen.

There were bodies, flesh, and bones everywhere, except this time, all of the goblins were staring at David.

The smell was terrible, especially for a monster hybrid like him, where his senses would be amplified.

He ignored that as he felt several strong auras spread out through the room, there were six of them as well!

They all walk out of their rooms, showing their developed humanoid bodies.

'Six hobgoblins... about 20 regular goblins, and some very weak mana signatures, newborns?' David had seen some of the settings Feil had put in, even if the human bodies there were 'alive', they wouldn't release a single bit of mana, so it had to be their newborns.

The six hobgoblins there weren't as well equipped as the group of the first goblins he and everyone else fought in the warm-up.

They didn't wear anything special, just some rugged clothes, not even any leather armor, some wooden weapons, most of them just had clubs though.

*Growl~*

They stared at him as if they were looking at food.

Although David didn't release his aura, everyone in the room knew that he was powerful, but in their eyes, he was just more tasty food. After all, they did have six hobgoblins and several more regular goblins, outnumbering him by quite a number.

David ignored their gazes, he stared at the dimly lit room, 'Well, it has more than enough space for a fight here... but I'd rather fight someone who can really use their weapon.' He sighed.

'Time to get rid of the cannon fodder.'

{Earth Spike}!

In that one moment, everything fell silent, seeing that David wasn't moving, the goblins had made their move.

Though, before they could even move towards him, they felt themselves losing consciousness.

*Splatter~*

Blood had splattered everywhere, the goblins had been pierced in several places, the head, chest, anywhere else.

No one was spared, not even the newborn children.

Shortly, the spikes had retracted, returning to the ground they sprouted out from, leaving several more bodies on the ground.

Now, the only ones left were now the six hobgoblins, who were looking at him with rage more than fear.

*Screech~*

The scene in front of them distressed the hobgoblins, to not be able to do anything to help their family.

As a monster himself, he could feel their emotions, even if their face didn't change that much.

He quickly readied himself into battle stance and charged.

It seemed like the hobgoblins knew that they weren't a match for him, the moment he charged, they all split up, dodging whatever David was going to throw at them.

*Boom~*

David didn't stop his charge, hitting the end of the room, breaking just enough to make some dust.

'Huh... it's more sturdy than I thought.' David looked at his staff.

He didn't hesitate any further, neither did they.

*Screech~*

The six hobgoblins charged at him with their wooden clubs outs, screeching at him.

David frowned at their lack of skill for a weapon, but what could he do? Teach them how to fight and make it harder for himself? No!

'At the very least, it's easier for me.' Even without much combat experience, with his superior stats, there were many spots exposed on their bodies he could exploit.

David looked at the nearest one, 'I'll go with you first then!'

*Boom~*

He spun his staff, hitting the side of the hobgoblin, knocking him across the room.

Although they were family, it didn't seem like they were stopping for him at all. They kept charging at him, most likely because they knew that if they couldn't take their chance, they'll die.

David quickly reacted, turning his staff the other way, blocking the other five hobgoblins attack due to the sheer length of his staff.

'Weak...' A thought came to his head.

The clubs had very little power, the hobgoblins seemed to be quite resilient than strong or fast. The other goblins actually had some sort of armor, while they didn't for some reason.

David didn't question it, one by one, he crippled the other hobgoblins.

At first, they wanted to screech, but with the amount of noise they would make which would also attract some other annoying mobs in the forest, he damaged their vocal cords.

They tried getting away from time to time, but each time they did so, he would strike them continuously. For them, it felt like several tasers suddenly shooting at them, they would be shocked, unable to move, scared.

*Pah~*

"Nope, not there."

*Pah~*

"Not there either..."

*Pah~*

"Oh... that one did pretty well."

*Pah~*

"Yep, alright, they're all different."

What was he doing? Well, he didn't want to harm anyone outside, so he might as well test it on some goblins, using them for target practice. He tortured them, by the time he was done, there was only one hobgoblin left, who was knocked out.

He looked down on the hobgoblin, "Guess I don't need you anymore."

*Pah~ Thud~*

He thrusted the staff towards the neck of the hobgoblin, cracking its neck at an abnormal angle, killing it on the spot.

"First group... subjugated." David calmly walked out of the cave.

Leaving the cave, David immediately went to the east, where Sam's group was at.

Since it was at the edge, David didn't need to be very cautious about waking up monsters or trying to find out where he is, only to turn full circle since he went the wrong way since all his {Mini-Map} gave him was green.

This way, he would be able to get there within a couple of minutes, sprinting there.

"I just hope that they weren't hurt too badly if there's any third-tier hobgoblins there."
