Chapter Ten: Attack of the Clones

Cell, Superman and Batman were now making their way towards the tremors that were reported by Martian Man, with Cell and Superman flying and Batman grappling and traveling towards the roofs of the buildings they went and passed by. They were also accompanied by Cell's two children,

Overtime, they saw people running away as the tremor continued to occur. To the three heroes it was seen as a phenomenon triggered by a sudden reflux of energy signature in the environment which caused the earthquake. To Cell however, he knew this was a Ki surge. A Ki that was similar to someone he knew, someone he despised.

Batman landed in police station that they happen to pass by, presumably to warn the police about the incident and to order them to evacuate the area. It also did not help that Cell, the being who managed to make the man of steel bleed and beat the Justice League during their first encounter, explicitly said that the entity responsible for the tremors is in fact a huge threat and very powerful.

This did ease the Bat hero's paranoia.

Superman on the other hand, during the flight was observing the bio android. He noted that Cell had a major scowl the entire flight. Cell noticing him being eyed by the man of steel, increased his speed and flew faster to get out of his obvious stare. Cell did so by using Ki in his flight instead of flying solely with his wings, him now being enveloped by a white aura, which admittedly impressed Superman with his abilities once more with how they were supposed to work.

Cell now way ahead of Superman and Batman, scanned the area with his purple eyes intently. Not missing a single detail and analyzing every nook, every cranny, every speck of dust and trail that could lead to this entity with his frown and scowl ever increasing.

'This energy is undoubtedly that brat Gohan's! Grr! When I find him, I'll tear him limb from limb!' Cell stated in his thoughts, but only after making sure that the Martian was not within his brain anymore.

It was then that he saw something. Something familiar. What he saw shocked him to the core. The entity he saw was…

A young man with spiky hair and orange clothing and a blue inner shirt and another man with also a spiky hair with the same clothing, albeit a different hairstyle.

"Is that…G-Goku? But how? How is he here? Does he know how to travel through different universes?" Cell mumbled in awe.

Cell then landed immediately to the ground, his feet making it's infamous 'doot' noise.

'The other entity, I do not recognize him but his facial features seem to resemble Goku's.' Cell analyzed.

It was then that he came to a realization once he kept staring at the young man's facial features.

"T-Those eyebrows, that gaze! No it can't be! But he's older now, and it hasn't even been a month since we last fought each other. So why? Why does Gohan look like he has aged approximately seven years?!' Cell pondered wide eyed. Cell needed confirmation for his theory.

"Hey you! What is your name?!" Cell demanded.

The two figures then got into a fighting stance after Cell's question.

'That's odd, their color and their Ki is a bit odd. And based of off their power levels, and energy signature, they don't seem to be the one responsible for the tremors. Perhaps a by product but not the main cause.' Cell analyzed further as he gets into his fighting stance.

"Not gonna talk are we? Fine, have it your way! I'll enjoy beating you to a pulp Goku! Alongside this weird adult Gohan." Cell said. It was then the man of steel caught up to him and landed beside him along with Batman.

"Cell, are these the one-" Superman questioned but was interrupted.

"No, the entity responsible for this is still somewhere nearby. Find them, I'll take care of these two." Cell said without room for argument.

Superman obliged and flied away to search, which left Cell and Batman alone with the weird looking Goku and adult Gohan.

"I'll do it alone. I have no need for your help." Cell said as Batman nods and grapples away with his grappling hook, to help Superman search for the culprit. Krilla and Cell Jr also decided to take a step back, honoring their father's wish of fighting alone.

As Superman and Batman left, the Goku rushed at Cell with a punch that Cell blocked, catching his fist and retaliates with a jab through the jaw of Goku. The Gohan then kicks Cell from his left side but Cell caught it. "Too slow" Cell said as he elbowed the kneecap of Gohan.

Cell smirked and waited for the scream of pain that is about to come. But to his surprise, none came. Not even a single grunt nor peep. Cell then throws Gohan to Goku and blast them with a barrage of Ki attacks.

"That's odd…they showed no concern or emotions when retaliated against. Not to mention that this Goku is a bit weaker." Cell observed.

The smoke from the Ki barrage from earlier, dissipated, but the sight after that was something else. Goku and Gohan were now in Super Saiyan.

"Tsk!" Cell frowned.

Cell curls up his arms together and grunts a bit, powering up. Smoke and wind emanate from his body and white smoke covers him. The white transparent smoke them turns into a violent wave throughout his body, indicating he is powered up with Ki in his base form.

"I've trained and have gotten stronger since the last time we fought Goku. I don't even need to use Super Saiyan to beat you." Cell bragged as he rushes at the two.

Goku and Gohan still silent, got into fighting stances.

Cell rushed them and went for a punch against Goku, followed by a flurry of punches. Some of them either missed or were blocked but the majority of them hit the target and left Goku with bruises all over.

Cell then mixed kicks and a few maneuvers in his combo against Goku, proving to be successful and was pushing him back. But Gohan then intervened and tried to punch Cell, to which the android dodged by tilting his head side ways.

Gohan then attacked with a Ki blast that Cell swatted to the side, exploding when it hit the street, causing a medium sized crater but was quite deep.

"As much as I like fighting, you guys don't seem to act like yourselves. I assume you guys are either clones or a cheap copy of the originals. You guys are so weak that fighting you guys doesn't even please me. But be glad that a perfect being such as I get to put you down instead of the other two I was with." Cell said as he shot a full powered 'Perfect Death beam' on his index finger. The very same attack he used to kill Future Trunks during the Cell Games.

Goku and Gohan attempted to block the attack, but it proved to be quite useless seeing as it went through their chests, killing them.

"Yay Daddy!" Krilla cheered to which Cell Jr clapped loudly and whistled elatedly.

"Hmph! Trash." Cell smirked as the bodies fell lifeless. The bodies then turned to smoke and dissipated into the air which surprised Cell.

"Daddy, do you know what is going on?" Krilla asked.

"Yeah daddy, This aura, it is malevolent, even when compared to yours." Cell Jr. said.

"Yeah, it's like the entity is driven by pure instinct and bloodlust rather than logic." Cell answered.

"But worry not children, their aura might be more malicious, but mine is still far more superior. Although, I will not deny their strength. They may pose a hard challenge considering the threat is still widely unknown, but I am confident that my strength will far outclass theirs." Cell said, quelling the worry of his children.

Cell then glances at the corpses and noticed it dissipating.

"So I was right, these guys were some sort of clones." Cell thought as flies in the air once more. It was then that he sensed a commotion up ahead. Feeling curious, he flied towards it.

What greets him is the sight of Batman fighting a Yamcha.

Batman throws bat-arang's at Yamcha, to which he slaps away. But one of it sticks to him and blows up, causing a smoke to come out. Batman then rushed him and punched Yamcha in the face. The punch made Yamcha recoil but only did minimal damage, as Yamcha retaliates by kicking Batman sending him to a nearby building, followed by a Ki blast that hit Batman.

'If I'm lucky, this cheap version of Yamcha might actually kill Batman. Yamcha wasn't a very strong fighter himself and this clone seemed to be inferior to the real one, but still quite deadly to the likes of Batman.' Cell thought but his thoughts were soon put down as Batman came out with a blast mark on his suit of armor. A fist sized blast mark, but other wise he seemed to be alright, apart from a minor fatigue.

'Oh, impressive. I wonder what his armor is made out of for him to tank a blast from Yamcha. Granted it lacked power, but his tenacity is commendable.' Cell mused.

Batman then put on something on his gloves knuckles and proceeded to rush in once more, dodging Yamcha's attacks by a hairs width and retaliates with a few punches of his own. His attacks this time seemed to carry more weight to it as Yamcha recoiled heavily upon being hit and made a crunch noise whenever Batman punches.

Batman then slaps a circular device at Yamcha's right neck. The device lights up and electrocutes Yamcha, giving off a blue vinrant color from the electricity.

Yamcha is beaten and dissipates into smoke. But it's not over yet. A Tien showed up with a Chaotzu. Batman then got ready for an incoming attack, to which the Tien obliged and rushed him. Cell was just watching this unfold, finding the struggle of the Bat hero amusing. That and he does not see the merit of helping him, even better if he dies in battle.

Batman side stepped and dodges Tien and retaliates a punch, one of which made him recoil after each strike.

'Batman is smart, I'll give him that. He knows he is beat in terms of raw power, so he avoids being hit and relies on maneuverability against these mindless clones to avoid damage. He knows he is done for if he gets hit a few more times. A bold move.' Cell mused.

Batman kept dodging Tien's attacks weaving, dashing, turning and jumping all over the place with his black cape. It was tough keeping up with the triclops, and even more so when the small flying midget who is Chaotzu, joined in on the fight by blasting Dodon rays on his finger.

It took Batman every effort to get close to Tien, he dashed and got under his right hook, Batman then punched the triclops in the face and stomach, followed by a swift kick and an elbow to his thighs and slapped another electrocuting device on his chest to defeat him. He then jumped up and barrel rolled, dodging a Dodon ray from Chaotzu and a few cars thrown by the small midget with his psychic abilities. Batman then threw smoke bombs all over the place as a smokescreen to distract Chaotzu and dashed quietly to punch him square in the face once and an uppercut after, Batman then slapped the circular device on thee enemy's stomach. It activates and defeats Chaotzu via electrocution.

Cell then flies down and says "Impressive. Now I know why they say you are dangerous despite not having powers."

Batman narrowed his eyes at Cell and replies by saying…"I could have used some help."

"On the contrary, I had predicted that you would beat them based on your move set and you managed to win as I had predicted." Cell half lied. He did know Batman was going to win, but that was only after he beat Yamcha. He was hoping Batman were to die in the midst of battle however.

"Found anything?" Batman asked.

"Unfortunately no. Other than the fact that the things you and I fought were mindless puppets. What about Superman?" Cell answered and asked.

"I don't know, I've been meaning to contact him via communicator, it seems he is in the middle of a fight. A tough fight actually. He's engaging the mastermind of this attack." Batman answered.

"Oh, could you elaborate on that?" Cell said.

"A few ways here towards north, his description on the enemy is that is a woman with long brown hair in a lab coat. A strong enemy too seeing that Superman has quite a trouble dealing with her." Batman elaborates.

That's "Interesting." Said Cell making a mental note, especially to the last part.

Cell then scans the area to where Superman is and he finds his energy signature, he is indeed locked in combat with an enemy. The enemy had a sinister aura to her. Something that made Cell uneasy ever since the tremors started. But the uneasiness is replaced by the excitement and the prospect of fighting a powerful unknown enemy.

"Grab onto me Batman, I'll teleport us towards Superman." Cell said.
