Fight

Unbeknownst to Stephan, he had unconsciously crushed the beer can in his hand, his gaze involuntarily drifting towards the group of rowdy youths.

"Are you upset?" Jack noticed Stephan's reaction and asked with a playful grin.

"...A little," Stephan admitted, exhaling deeply as he made a conscious effort to quell the anger bubbling within him.

"What's there to be angry about? Ignorance breeds arrogance," Jack remarked, shaking his head.

"Haha... you're right," Stephan chuckled, amused by Jack's perspective.

"Hey, what's going on over there?" A guy at a nearby table slammed his beer bottle down, interrupting their conversation.

Jack glanced at guy, his fierce eyes boring into him like twin blades of steel. The man sat frozen in fear under Jack's predatory gaze, feeling as though he was being dissected by the intensity of his stare.

Jack, a seasoned warrior with a history stained by countless battles and victories, exuded an aura of authority and dominance that seemed to suffuse the air around him.

His gaze, honed by years of experience and sharpened by the thrill of combat, radiated power and command, instilling a primal fear in those unfortunate enough to meet it.

Jack made sure that his killing intent was soley felt by the man and no one else

After seeing how the man was frozen in fear Jack withdraw his gaze and continued the conversation.

"Are you done eating?" Jack inquired.

"I'm stuffed," Stephan replied oblivious to what has transpired. "Let's head out."

"Why the rush? It's the perfect time for a workout after a meal," Jack gestured towards the men. "Let's go teach them a lesson."

"Huh?" Stephan was taken aback.

"How can you say you'll be a Jaeger pilot in the future and let these people insult your future profession and those who dedicate themselves to protecting the Earth?" Jack questioned.

"But I'm not a Jaeger pilot yet," Stephan countered instinctively.

"Have you forgotten what you'll become in the future?" Jack sighed, exasperated.

Stephan remained silent, unsure of how to respond.

"Dim-witted and slow to catch on, no wonder he's easily duped," Jack sighed, shaking his head. "In the future, I'll be a Jaeger designer. Customizing a Jaeger for you shouldn't be too complicated, right?"

"Are you serious?" Stephan glanced toward the group, then turned back to Jack, his expression serious. "I rarely pick fights."

"That means we've fought," Jack grinned. "Come on, let's see what you're made of and whether you can convince me to outfit you with a set of Jaegers!"

"Have you said everything?"

"It's tough to keep up!"

.....

The man who was the victim of Jack's gaze was still frozen in fear but his friends oblivious to it got ready for a fight.

"Bring it on fucker!" One of the men from the group was infuriated by Jack's remarks. He grabbed his beer bottle, ready to retaliate.

"Stay down," Stephan warned solemnly. "Or else it might get ugly."

The men exchanged confused glances.

"We are gonna fuck you up bastards!" They bellowed furiously, charging forward.

Moments later...

Stephan stood unscathed, his innocent gaze fixed on the unconscious youths sprawled on the ground, their faces bruised and swollen. "I warned you, but you still charged at me. Well, it's all sorted now. I never intended to use such force..."

Jack nodded in approval.

By ordinary standards, Stephan's combat skills were exceptional, bordering on mastery, and his reflexes were finely honed!

The next step was mastering the art of restraint and control. Stephan hadn't reached that level yet, but he was close. At least he wouldn't be completely outmatched when piloting a Jaeger against monsters.

As for making him a Jaeger, Jack wasn't just paying lip service. Stephan was capable, dedicated, and liked his work and life. He just needed an opportunity. Jack didn't mind giving him a chance to shine!

Of course, Jack's ultimate goal was to pilot a Jaeger himself... But that could wait. Right now, he wasn't in a rush. Besides, at the beginning stages of being a Jaeger Designer, he probably wouldn't produce anything extraordinary.

"Speaking of which, he still needs to make money quickly. Jack is really looking forward to what he can draw with that extraction skill..."

"Now?" Stephan glanced at Jack.

"Call the police!" Jack said matter-of-factly.

"Ah?" Stephan was taken aback once again.

Wait aren't they the one who has assaulted the others? But instead of leaving they are going to stay and called the police? What kind of logic is this?

"They are a group of bastards who have insulted the soldiers. Based on this, it is not too much to just put them in the bureau. What's more, you are still a reserve Jaeger pilot?" Jack explained. "Besides, they should be the first to do so. Justifiable defense, reasonable law enforcement, and protecting dignity. If any one of these three reasons is used, they will suffer!"

"What you said makes sense... but someone is recording..." Stephan reluctantly approached, whispering.

Human nature tends to be curious and seek approval, especially in an age where technology is so advanced. Many people have been videotaping the fight since before it started, and they've also recorded what Jack just said.

"I'm telling you, as long as we are reasonable, we don't have to panic at all. Do you understand? We are just, and what we do is correct. Do you understand?" Jack began to teach Stephan earnestly. "Now just a cameras is making you nervous. If you were to pilot a Jaeger and the whole world was watching, wouldn't you be unable to move?"
