…..
Not only were the couple standing there, mouth agape, but even Soo Min was surprised by the word 'husband'.
It was quite foreign to her.
"H—Husband? Soo Min this is not fair you got married and didn't even invite us to your wedding. Come on, now." Luna complained and turned to her boyfriend, "Isn't that right, love?"
"Y—Yeah." Alex hesitated to even make eye contact with Ryan, but immediately froze when he saw Ryan looking at him.
'I can't believe Soo Min got married to such a man. I thought she was just his play thing, how the hell does she always get everything so easily?' Luna gritted her teeth, behind that smile.
"Everything happened so quickly, I didn't have much time to tell anyone." Soo Min answered, giving Ryan a sideways glance.
"Yes, my wife is a very private person, so we only invited family and a few close friends." Ryan said, wrapping his free hand around Soo Min's waist.
'Private, really? I'll teach you a lesson Ryan Song, just you wait.' Soo Min mused.
"Oh I see. Then—"
"I'm sorry, but we have to leave as we have an appointment to go to, and we don't want to disturb you guys either, so we'll be on our way." Alex interrupted before pulling his girlfriend away.
"Alex, wait a minute I—let's catch up some other time, Soo Min." Luna waved as she walked away.
"Husband? Really now?" Soo Min crossed her arms, frowning.
"What? We're going to get married anyway. So you might as well get used to the introductions..." Ryan smiled before leaning closer to her ear and whispering, "…wifey."
Soo Min's entire face went red with that one word and tried to calm down her erratically beating heart.
Pushing him away, Soo Min cleared her throat and said, "Let's go or we'll miss the movie."
Ryan chuckled before walking behind her.
…..
Inside the theater.
"So who where those guys?" Ryan asked turning to look at Soo Min, who was intently watching the movie.
"High school acquaintances." Soo Min casually answered, while eating her pop corn.
"Just acquaintances?" Ryan asked leaning closer.
"Okay fine! Alex was my ex and Luna well she was a really close friend. But then things changed." Soo Min sighed remembering about those times.
"It happened when I was going back to class from gym class because I had forgot my spare clothes there, and… that's when I saw them kissing each other." Soo Min's voice softened a bit at the end.
"So seeing them must have hurt a bit?" Ryan asked.
Upon hearing that, Soo Min immediately snapped back to reality and firmly said, "Of course not! I moved on a long time ago, and that was also one of the reasons why I didn't want to waste my time with such people."
Turning to face him, Soo Min gently placed her hand on his and said, "To me, even if I hadn't agreed to this marriage at first, I want you to know that I will never betray you and I will do my best to become someone you can rely on, when things get tough. To be honest, I'm grateful to have met someone like you and I promise that I'll fulfill all my wife duties to the fullest of my abilities."
Ryan's face had a slight pink hue when he heard her say those words and his heart was beating frantically.
"Soo Min, I don't think you just realized what you signed up for." Ryan said in a low voice.
"What?"
"Are you really ready to fulfill all the duties of a wife?" Ryan teased, making her immediately blush.
'Oh god! Soo Min why did you get so carried away, you idiot!' She internally face palmed herself.
"But…" Ryan paused, "I'm happy to know your thoughts on our marriage, and your true feelings for me. I can promise you this, that from now on no one will ever make you cry again because I won't let them."
Soo Min's eyes softened when she heard that.
"I think we should get back to the movie." She abruptly said but that blush never left her face.
'I will always protect you, Soo Min.' Ryan smiled looking at her the entire time, ignoring the movie.
