The Heavens' Blessings

It had been three years, three good years since that incident. Thinking back, Sonya felt she had been too naive to have blamed her best friend back then.

"Hey! Don't look so downtrodden! We were all naive back then. Fine look at me now. Am I not standing in front of you? Actually, I never blamed you. Trust me," Emily said and gave her an encouraging squeeze.

Looking at Emily, Sonya felt she was really stupid. Stupid to have accused her, stupid to have cut relations with her, stupid to have never contacted her again.

In fact, she had never contacted her because she was afraid Emily still blamed her. This time, she had mustered a lot of courage to contact her. Even that, she was imagining the worst scenario cases. What if she lashed out at her and told her not to contact her again? Or maybe she would have hung up the call and blacklisted her?

What was happening right now was what she least expected.

Touched, her eyes reddened as she said, "Thank you. The heavens have truly blessed me by giving me a friend like you."

Emily rolled her eyes. "Seriously, you're always calling me silly but you are actually the silly one over here." The two friends chatted all the way from the airport.

"Blair! Where's Vincent?! I have good news!" Emily yelled excitedly immediately her call went through.

Blair literally had to move the phone from her ears.

"Gosh! Do you want to burst my eardrums?! Why are you screaming like that?! In fact what exactly has happened that is worthy of Almighty Emily's scream?!"

Emily was speechless at Blair's blatant exaggeration.

"You...just put the phone on loud speaker. Vincent totally has to hear this." Blair rolled her eyes as she did as told.

"Guys Sonya returned!"

"!!!"

"!!!"

The two were shocked out of their wits. Of all the good news they hoped for, this was the least expected. However, this was what they most wanted. After months and years of waiting they started to give up anticipating that good news. It was truly a bolt out of the blue.

"Shocked?! Hehehe...you'd probably forget to close your mouth after meeting her in person! The baby of yesterday is today's gorgeous woman!"

Standing by Emily's side, Sonya smacked her for spouting nonsense. Her ears had reddened from embarrassment. Seeing Sonya's look, Emily broke into laughter. Sonya stood by the side, glaring at her. If looks could kill, Emily would have dropped down dead long ago.

They were currently in a hotel room Sonya had booked for two days. Emily promised to look for a proper house for her within that period of time.
