Chapter 8

After months of battles and the enemy losing more than half of their forces. They decided to retreat back to their own lands overseas. I was on my way home with everyone, when I started to see the city with my own eyes I felt very tired. Then Dianna and my siblings watch me hit the ground right infront of the carriages. Before I hit the ground I felt and angry precense but then it disappeared. I thought with the wish that all my darkside would be gone with the curse.

(Dianna's point of view)

I watched as my husband fell to the ground and he convulsed for a moment, I looked up and ordered for help and got Jacob rushed home. I saw his eyes move under his own eye lids as we put him in a carriage. I sat next to him while he slept all the way home. When we got the doctors to check him they all said the same thing. "It looks like he's just tired from all the battles he fought. He must of not slept much till now." This was weird for me to hear since he seemed to sleep well during our time together in the war or did he?

Now that I looked back, "he always slept very little during the big battles, he must of been running on empty with energy this whole. He also might of lost more of his energy on that rampage when Tilla got hurt." I said to myself then before I knew it had been 30 days of him sleeping. "You have never been out for this long when you lost all your energy, maybe for a couple days but not like this." I said to him as he opened his eyes.

(Jacob's point of view)

I woke up to Dianna next to me looking upset about something. I didn't feel like someone else like I did before, now I felt like myself. It was like my mind was cloudy and all the events from the last three years where a dream. I smiled at Dianna then she got up and gave me a huge hug right when I swung my leg over to the edge of the bed. Then a messanger came into the room, he came here for Dianna but since he saw I was awake he gave me the letter with hers.

It read, " When you awaken from your month long slumber come with Dianna to this coming meeting my son." It was signed from King Verith and I smiled at the letter then I freaked out for a moment. "I was a sleep for a month, what happened to everyone that came with us?" I asked Dianna and she told me that "everyone was fine and all that was wrong with me was I ran out of energy again." "Ah like when I first came here, funny thats the only thing that made me passed out." I said when I sat up and got dressed, I used my cleaning spell and cleaned myself spotless. I saw I grew a longer beard and so I trimmed it a bit.

We then headed to the castle from the hospital, Dianna wanted to take the carriage but I wanted to walk. So we went through the city with just her and me. The people of the city greeted us as we walked through and even some of the ones who hated me smiled at me when we passed. Then whe we got to the throne room, most of the Kingdom's noblility were here and Dianna's whole were here too. They were standing right behind King Verith and Queen Lilith. Verith came down from his chair and gave me a huge hug, "Son, we are happy that you're finally awake, We also have lots to talk about today."

He said me and Dianna knew nothing for what was going to pass. King verith had this town he had built for those who where missed placed after the war. This town was half the size of the Kingdom and so he needed someone to govern over the town. He choose us, Dianna and I, he also gave us selected Guards to fill out the security force for the new town. Then I asked about our servants and King verith said. "Your servants will be merged to be one huge work force," Then all of the servants to Dianna came into the room. There were over 20 of them, I then asked where the town was located and about the type of people that would be living there?

"You'll have people from all over, some elven and some of other races like beastmen and other demons. Most of which will be the people who served in the war but have no homes to return to." Verith told me and I about what my new town would be or what Dianna and I could turn it into. After that 20 minutes of conversation I was given the map to my new home. Before we left I went and I got all of my servants including Leera and Spira. I told them about how everything was going to change and Leera spoke up before anyone else. "We would follow you to the end of the world for you sir." Everyone after that went and got packed and met us by the front city gate.

I opened a portal close to the new town and Dianna looked at me, "I knew where the town was based on the map, I fought near here back when the war started." She smiled then we all stepped through the opening. We when I came through the portal I saw the town was still being built and it was a farming town. We were still a couple hours till we reached the front of the town but we walked for the rest of the way. Dianna rode in the carraige and I walked with the servants and guards. My brother rode on the top of the carraige and Kenna rode in the carraige with Dianna to keep her company. We only had a couple wagons full of belongings and only the children rode in the back of them with the older servants. You could see Leera and Spira running around with Dasy and Narel helping everyone with drinks.

Dianna saw this too from her seat and she smiled brightly at them. We watched them for a bit then I said to them as we came over the last hill. "Don't forget to take a break you four, everyone is fine plus we're almost home. From the top of the hill we saw the whole Town even more clear, on the outside of the walls we saw the farmers who lived close to it. They all stopped working on their fields to watch us walked on by. Then one of them came up to the convoy and asked, "Sir are you the Duke taking over this land, we need new tools sir?" The elder man looked sad and hurt as we kept walking for a moment. I felt he heart pleading for my help so I had everyone stop. Dianna came out to see what was going on and asked if the old man was bothering me? The old mam went to leave but my brother pulled out a couple of tools we had laying in one of the carts.

Brad then checked on the other tools and sw they were all rusted and broken, Brad smiled a bit then he said. "I'm sure we can get new tools made by our smiths for a one time deal brother." I shook my head in agreement as I said. "Give my brother here a list of tools every farmer needs to properly harvest and maintain you crops." I told Brad to stay back and get the list of tools and meet us at our new home later. Before we left the old farmer asked why I'd go to the trouble in helping them. "My family from the other world were farmers and I know how hard it can be with just growing and producing product. I'm just being a leader that would make myself and my ancesters proud of me." We finally headed home and when I saw it I smiled a bit, "It's like my manor but bigger I love it make me feel happy."

Though it was twice the size of my old home it was just like my manor and had two apartment buildings on either side of it. We all split to unpack after I gave that order for everyone, that night we all slept calmly. Then after several days of getting used to my new role of being a real leader. I had dealt with most of the first weeks problems and Brad took care of what he could beyond that. Kenna took control of the gate and town's Guard as captain. When I would go on walks among the people in the begining they had no idea who I was. I wanted to gauge of what people thought about the new lords of the town. When I took that moment to do that I took a break, I saw how beautiful my new home truly was.

You could see the Northern Mountains behind the town and the dark forest protecting the it. The center of the town their was a huge Willow tree, it was the biggest tree I've seen in ages. Then I took a long look around me and saw all the people walking around me. There was, Elves, Demons, Dwarfs, Goblins and Beastmen just to name a few races with a few races I've never seen yet. Then a man who I knew came running up to me causing a scene. He was my messenger, "My lord, News from King Verith, peace has been established with all of the Kingdoms we fought together with." Everyone around me heard him and they were shocked I was the Duke of the city. "How many of them my friend?" I asked the messenger and he said back to me, "My lord all of them, not a single one has been left out."

I smiled then I asked him, "Does Dianna know yet?" He shook his head "no" then he took off running and went to tell her. I laughed a bit then I got up and walked around for a bit longer before heading home. When I was walking I passed by the towns new guild hall, I thought the hand written sign looked familure so I went inside. When I walked in I saw My friend and old Master Tilla was sitting at the front desk attending to new adventures. "Hello Tilla, suprised to see you my friend, did you also moved here into the new town?" I said to her and she smiled at me, "Yes sir, I retired from the military and training grunts like you," She laughed then said after she stopped laughing. ""I came here to start something new and to help out non military warriors out." She then told me she was the guild master and wanted to finally relax after that war.

I welcomed her into town and I went to head out when I also ran into Lolita who was running by. She had a bunch of her soldiers with her on a run when she spotted me. "I just saw Dianna and asked if you'd help me train my new grunts. She said that you would and so I came to look for you." She told me and I smiled a bit, "Could we cross train them with my town guards too?" I asked her and she agreed to that. So after that I headed with Lolita to train the grunts till I was able to head home after Lolita was satisfied with the results. When I got home I laid right on my bed right when Dianna came into the door. She looked tired as well then she gave me a look I've never seen her give before, she crawled into the bed with me and she began to kiss my neck and face.

We made sweet love last night after a couple days of none stop work with paper work and field work. We made love till we passed out an hour later from being so tired. All of the people in my town were happy for the most part and the farmers got much needed tools and support. Life was good and even Dianna was happy with her roles even with it being so draining. I though didn't need to train or fight anymore, I still trained till I felt tired on cloudy days. Everyday I would pick a random shop to see if they needed anything or patroled the area to keep us extra safe. Even with the peace you could never let your guard down, because this world was still dangerous even if we couldn't see it.
