A month flies pass and the citizens are amazed as how grand and luxurious it is to see the City Wall.
When they have first seen the construction, they have thought that this is just an ordinary City Wall but the last week of the constructions tell them otherwise. The technique that has been used for the last part of the construction is the finishing through smoothing of the outside using cement. They have painted it afterwards.
Common walls will have the bricks showing out but what the citizens see is a really smoothened wall. It amazes them that the City Lord has enough money to build this wall. There are also a lot of things that have improved in the city for the past month.
Arthur has talked with many merchants in the city for food as well as employers to have a minimum salary rate. Now most people in the city is living comfortably because of some advancements in farming and breeding animals for meat.
During this time, Arthur has also asked Andrew to start building the next project of the department. He has also given the workers bonus pay for this past month. They have received an additional 50% of their salary.
Arthur is very happy to what he has achieved in the past month for the city as well as the personal growth he has. His previously coin-sized mana core has become a ball with the same size as his tummy. He has also found out that this is the maximum he can do.
Since he has stabilized the earnings from patents of his procedures and from taxes, the castle is now capable of hiring people to maintain it. Arthur expects for this new project to be finished in a month as well and he has rented a residence to live in temporarily.
Arthur asks the system if the renovation will affect the library but the system assures him that he can enter anytime as long as he wants to. Though, it is suggested not to enter the Great Library because people will become suspicious of him if he suddenly disappears. In short, the Great Library is already bounded to him.
Arthur has made sure that Andrew and his team will focus on finishing the renovation of the Castle first while the second priority is the temporary building for Magic Academy. He has scrapped the idea of building the campus in one go. This can be expanded if the number of students rise.
Billy has finally procured the necessary stuff and he has actually covered his identity. It seems like he doesn't want to go back to where he comes from and that something has happened to him that night when he was being chased by wolves.
When Billy has returned, he has brought with him four hundred eighty seven clear magic contracts, magic ink, and a talent-testing device.
Arthur is satisfied with what Billy has bought and he has placed this on the storage of his temporary house. They will move this out once the Castle has been renovated and the building for the Academy has been built.
It is now time for the inauguration of the City Wall. Arthur enters the carriage to go to the town's square, the busy are of the city, to make a speech.
Arthur highlights in his speech that the City Wall is one of the unique features of the city. He adds that this is only the beginning of the rise of Camelot City. He ends the speech by thanking the Construction Department as well as the people for their contribution in building the wall. It is not a simple contribution but he says that they are heroes for protecting their families and their future generations.
A deafening cheers can be heard throughout the square and Arthur is happy that his citizens benefit to this. His bad reputation for a year has been saved in just a month by his actions.
After the little celebration, Arthur returns to his temporary residence. As he walks inside, he feels like something is amiss. He looks around the residence and he clearly remembers the flower vase's position. Someone has probably entered this house.
He searches the whole house and there is nothing to see at all. Aside from some movements of objects, there is nothing missing from what he has. It is not like he has many possessions other than his clothes and gold coins. There is also no trace that they are searching for any object.
There is only one possibility. The person is looking for someone and it is possibly him.
Clang.
A sound produced when a metal spoon falls on the ground can be heard from Arthur's bedroom. It is the only place he hasn't searched yet.
Arthur takes his handgun out and rushes to the kitchen. He is shocked to see a seemingly familiar old man eating a sandwich.
The old man looks at Arthur and swallows the food he was eating. He chuckles as he has been caught red-handed stealing a food. He wears a gloves on and a white polo with a black robe on top of it.
The old man kneels down and bows his head. "Your Highness."
"Butler Hans! What are you doing here? Stand up! I am no longer the Crown Prince." Arthur has finally remembered him. It has been a year when Butler Hans lead him here in the Camelot City. His face seems to have changed and aged more.
Butler Hans is the most trusted aide of King Harry, his father. Thus, he is like an uncle to Arthur.
"I know I have left last year without a word. My conscience cannot let myself to not investigate the case of your father. For this past year, I have found some trace through the late king's body but some people have seen me looking at King Harry's corpse. I have been chased and I cannot go back here immediately." Butler Hans stands up as he tells Arthur about him.
Arthur is shaking as it seems like Butler Hans has found out a great clue to his father's death.
"Tell me the truth, Hans." Tears form on Arthur's eyes as he clenches his fist in anger.
