So the beginning is definitely a bit more Fantasy/Mystery/soft Thriller rather than your average fantasy romance story. The pacing is nice, and the characters drive the plot rather than the other way around, which is a nice change of pace for a more mystery heavy webnovel. The characters aren't being introduced in plain text, meaning you get to know them better the longer you keep reading, which tbh is really compelling imo. The characterization for the MC does feel a tad off at times, since she does act somewhat younger than her indicated age. I also found it odd than her younger sister has never heard about her childhood, though a very large age gap and an atypical family dynamic could explain it. Also I love the grandma, she's exactly as cool and levelheaded as you'd expect an elderly shaman to be.

If you're looking for a story with characters who actually have personalities and real emotions and motivations for their actions, then this is for you. Don't get me wrong, the story is dark, kinda depressing at times, but you'll find yourself rooting for the main characters and despising others, because it's so well written and properly paced. The author allows for tension to build, without drawing every question and problem out for chapters and chapters on end. Highly recommend!

TLDR; The plot is nice, it's a girl power fantasy adventure, and the plot line seems to be moving in a fairly dark and dramatic direction. If you are alright with being patient in waiting for a more concrete world building outline and can overlook a certain amount of grammar issues, it's honestly worth a try for younger readers. The character descriptions are very appearance focused, which I find unfortunate, and it takes me a good couple of lines of dialogue to really sus out their personalities, other than the protagonist who is unequivocally headstrong, impulsive and stubborn in the "strong martial arts FL" kind of way. The writing quality varies quite a bit, and the formatting changes between early and later chapters (I would recommend changing the earlier ones to match the later ones, since the author seems more comfortable with it). There are also a good deal of spelling errors, but getting a decent reading experience regardless is absolutely possible, especially if one reads fast and likes a fast paced story like this one. The competition is fairly outlined, but it gets a little confusing everyone being equally casual with each other as well as the very different names, namely Japanese, Korean, some Eurocentric ones (French and English specifically, I believe), and more. The universe is a little confusing so far, but the focused plot does help with it quite a bit.

Super enjoyable read! The characters are engaging, the story pace good, and I really enjoy the interactions between the male characters. I like the tension throughout, and how you break it. The POV changes are done really well, too, and aren't grating or disruptive to the flow of the story. Can't wait to see where it's going as I continue reading!

A solid slow-burn romance! A scorned strong-willed businesswoman pining over her ex getting pushed into an arranged marriage with a notorious playboy? Sign me up! The characters are all well-defined and consistent, which lends itself to a really nice reading experience. For readers not too familiar with Chinese phrases, names, and dramas, there might be a bit of early confusion, but I promise you'll settle in really fast. I really enjoy the pace and the setup, the story is moving along nicely at 10 ch in, will definitely keep reading. (added it to my library!) The ONLY detractor is the bit of grammar stuff, but honestly it's not super noticeable unless you're picky or a fluent English speaker. Even then, you learn to fly over lack of genitive s and particles.

It's so good! The writing is excellent, characters are believable, interactions feel real and you can sense conflicts and tension brewing on the horizon. I'm especially happy about the fact that the characters all really seem and sound like their ages, and I can feel a lot of influence from K-Dramas, which is only a plus in my book. Looking forward to see where it goes from here!

TLDR; Overall it's a bit 50 Shades ish mixed with a contract marriage trope, so if you're into that, this might be for you! The premise is a pretty standard contract marriage/ two people kinda tricking each other into a relationship/ love after marriage sorta deal, though it feels like there's a love triangle as well. This one's a bit of a slower paced story in terms of interpersonal development, which feels very appropriate for the characters. At the same time the story changes physical locations quite fast early on, so there's no real time to get bored of a setting. The characters themselves are fleshed out pretty well early on, though in some faster paced their "voices" can melt into each other a bit. This does also bleed into the varying POVs, but there's always a helpful note to orient yourself. Everyone does sound quite young in their dialogues, and there are some recurring spelling mistakes (lack a capitalization, quite/quiet). The, who I presume is the ML, is VERY possessive and abuse early on, though it's looking like it'll morph into something a bit more toned down. There's also the implication of revenge porn blackmail which I'm not huge on, personally, but it is the catalyst of the story.

A great read! Seriously, it's a solid one. The characterizations are good, interactions are pretty realistic, and I'm really looking forward to the hinted-at romance. Can anyone really resist a coldhearted darkhaired duke from the north after all? Pacing is excellent, and the unfolding story is interesting. While there were a few stumbles early on with the writing itself, it sorts itself out really fast, so it's also good for fluent English speakers that might notice grammar mistakes a lot (I know I do), and I'm not letting it pull down the score. Only detractor is that it goes from very frequent, to there being just a biiiit longer between each chapter lately, but hey, life happens. Added to my library, will continue 'till the end.

While Omegaverse isn't my usual cup of tea, this one was one of the better ones I have read, and isn't too trope-y for a non-omegaverse reader. The writing is pretty solid, and after a bit of reading the beat-by-beat becomes pretty comforting. Occasionally the viewpoint character changes, which take a sec to grasp, but the reliance on using names over pronouns does help quite a bit with that. The themes are quite heavy, especially in the early chapters, trigger warning for SA and death for those who might need to be warned.

This is a bit of a classic hero's journey set in the author's fantasy world, in short. Overall, an enjoyable read and good story beats; if you like a fast pace this is for you (at least if it keeps going the same way in future chapters). The writing style take a bit of getting used to with the long sentence form, and everything is very spelled out for the reader, probably making for a casual read above all else. There are mistakes in grammar and typesetting, but in just four chapters the writing seems to have improved quite a bit, making me hopeful for future chapters.
