A fair point. But even then, there'd be no adversity. Is the protagonist really in danger when he's purposefully not even using 100% of his strength? It'd make it look like the MC is just willingly letting himself get hurt or willingly letting others get hurt.
People would get up in arms if I nerfed the MC like that. I've been lurking on this site for long enough to know that weakening a protagonist is the quickest way for an author to lose the support of their readers. Besides, how to send him to new universes was never the problem I was having.
Yes, that was the goal, but I have to do something with the protagonist while in his current universe otherwise it'd get boring. You'd just have this god-like being who doesn't change or evolve and just stays the same - it'd get repetitive and then it'd get boring.
But that's the problem. The MC doesn't have morals, not really. If he runs into someone who threatens him, he'll kill them, and if he believes taking over the world is the best course of action he'll take it. And outside of people who can physically or mentally match him, no one could stop him from doing so.
That's not the problem. Him getting stronger isn't a problem - I could pull out something like you said. But him being too powerful for his current verse IS the problem. It leads to problems with his character development and ones I can't think of a solution for.
Well, I'm sorry but I'm not gonna write a story that's only half of what it can be. It'd be a disservice to my audience and to me as an author.
Tomorrow or the day after that.
Agents of Shield is a part of the MCU so if he goes to one of them, he's gonna be able to experience the other one. And by tvd do you mean The Vampire Diaries? Because if so, that verse is a little weak for the MC. He could literally keep Klaus on the ground with his pinkie finger.
Super soldier serums wouldn't work. He already has Compound V and that wouldn't mix well with anything else. John basically had the Compound V injected into him when he was a fetus, so he was born super, his cells and everything about him are super. Adding in serums made for ordinary people would be a recipe for disaster. Ki has it's limits seeing as it relies on the physical strength of the body - so unless John is part-Saiyan, he won't be able to fully seek the benefits Saiyans get from it. His body already takes in 100% of every breath to a degree that's a hundred fold better than any of the Hashiras in Demon Slayer. There's honestly not much I can do to make him physically better outside of training and even that is absurdly hard with his current physical strength.
He's thirteen, my guy, relax. Puberty hasn't even begun really loading on the muscle yet, so just sit back and chill.
