This is a Sh*tty Loophole I made in less than 30 seconds as a plot device. Care to give your opinion on this? Does it make sense?

Yup. But he can just say that the system gave that information to him too. How would the villains feel if they found out they were just part of tv show merely to entertain the humans of his world?

Of course, the protagonist already knows all their abilities, so he didn't really need to ask the question. He just wanted to see what ability All for One had that would be helpful for this mission. And most of the villains are lying about their ability or not fully revealing it.

True. In my opinion, it ultimately depends on the context and the specific laws in place though since the interpretation of what constitutes a bokken or a katana can vary.
