Rod from God weapons? A platform with huge tungsten and steel darts lobbed into orbit. position over enemy stronghold, drop a multi-ton metal rod from orbit, toast your victory. with a big enough launch mechanism, the same rods could be lobbed over the horizon like cruise missiles. No radioactive fallout, just raw kinetic damage.
I turned to this app in search of something to inflame my long dormant passion for reading. I read several books until they started charging money to continue . I had resolved to not spend a dime on the stories I was reading. The Mech Touch changed my mind. this is simply the BEST mech centric story I've ever read, and I devoured the classic Battletech novels one after another for a solid decade... I have even felt a kinship with Ves Larkinson in my regular, mundane, work. when the writer talks about how he divides his mind and manages his affairs, and pours his heart and soul into his designs... I FEEL that in my own soul. Whenever I get to read about Ves getting passionate about a machine, I start to feel that way about the machines I work with. Admittedly, comparing a multi ton walking engine of mass destruction to a Semi truck is a bit of a stretch, but the passion for what will best serve the customer closely aligns with helping my customers get exactly what they want out of their truck. performance, aesthetics, comfort, efficiency... I sell parts all day to enhance trucks. What I wouldn't give to see someone like Ves turned loose with a base model Semi and an unlimited budget. Thank you. Thank you for restoring my passion for elegant and powerful machines.
