I agree with you. However look at it this way, he/she (author) seems to have written each based on a character. As in two different worlds. Upon my observation, the part of vine begins, followed by Chauncey... If I'm correct and then Eamonn. After that it relvoved between just vine and eamonn. I dunno if it's correct. It's up to the author. But he/she should make an indication of such sorts.
