Parroting everything back as conversation gets irritating.

The rules are constantly broken.

It starts off interesting, gets a bit repetitive with the attempts to be mysterious, and then cuts off abruptly because the author dropped it.

I get that reincarnation is shocking, but these people are supposed to be millions of years old and wield power to shape mountain ranges and continents when they aren’t too busy grandstanding or stealing from each other. Why are they so shocked/amazed/confused by absolutely everything?

This doesn’t make sense. These people can’t be that stupid with how transparent the budgets and earnings statements are. I get that people are dumb, it’s just unbelievable in this context.
