100% agree. I dropped a daily card apprentice for that exact reason. layers upon layers of 'scheming' and timelines that are inhumane. Completely with you on that, this has become all too common in these novels, and most of the time is really unnecessary. I personally needed something to latch onto. some ambition, a problem, or some storyline. I couldn't find that here, so I dropped it, but everyone had their own tastes. Glad you're enjoying it!😁

Yes, his point is that it's not his job to aquire it. Evolution Witch controls their side, so the Terrans would have to negotiate with her directly. Not to mention, they still haven't tried sending one through. might not work or may be prohibitively expensive.

I tried really hard to get into this book but only made it to chapter 300 ish. There is just no drama or real meat to this book. No big enemy, no rival, and no real reason to read the book. MC just goes where told does what he's told, and that's it. I keep hoping for a time skip to get to the real story, but it hasn't happened. writing is great, and MC's party is fine (everyone else is a bit two-dimensional and nearly identical). If there was some actual plot to this book, it would be great.
