In the end Cassius was not different of Elisabeth's parents. He impose his will on her. They were friends, but he never confess or talk to her about his feelings to see if she reciproc. He know that the poor girl can't decide anything about her life, so how can be possible he doesn't think that maybe she was forced to marry him. I tell you, because he had an ego big like a house.
