Enjoyable story, the MC relies heavily on his system, but it doesn't shoot his cultivation to the moon. It's also nice to read a novel where the master disciple relationship is a big thing with the MC being the master. The MC is an old man rather than some 20-year-old that his 16-year-old disciples want to f*ck like in seemingly every other novel with a similar set-up. Unfortunately, the translation can be inconsistent. It is usually good but some chapters are blatantly unedited MTL that don't use the same terms as the actual translation. Ending also kinda comes out of nowhere, not rushed but random.
Cliched, repetitive, and varying wildly in quality and consistency. Some arcs are decent, or even good, but are then followed up with stuff I found almost unreadable. One thing that really annoyed me was that he is apparently so good at alchemy because of his focus on the basics and no one, I mean absolutely NO ONE, has done that before. Thats it, thats why he is the best, no one has ever thought to practice tier one alchemy. I stopped enjoying it around 1000 chapters in and was carried the rest of the way by the sunk cost fallacy.
She was a member of the Ancient Heavenly City and a close friend/had feelings for Slow Witted Song
Housewife Beiran is annoyed his spouse only wants to talk about work rather than spend time with family
If a mystic master isn't enough I will go one level... lower? Not sure how much that will help
The novel is a bit slow to start and definitely has a few flaws but it is the best webnovel I have read. The world building remains consistent, the characters all have motivations, even the enemies.
It starts out fun and entertaining but you should drop it as soon as he begins interacting with other countries. It just goes on and on about how racist and greedy other countries are and how kind, gentle, welcoming, friendly, and generous china is. It felt like the author had a gun to their head and was being forced to write propaganda.
honestly, it was all downhill as soon as he left the mental demon realm
is the box a reference to Heroes Shed No Tears?
