Well, smart characters are a massive risk for any writer, especially web novel writers. Get them right, and the reader will be as impressed with the writer as they are with the character, but get it wrong, and it feels like the author is merely using a ‘smart’ character as a mouthpiece to move the story along. Unfortunately, from what I've read so far, this author seems to fall to the latter category as the main character continues to make retarded decisions even with NZT running in his system.
