Later, he changed his ways of thinking and found the location of the door of life. He had searched for the door of life for days in this Fengdu City but still found nothing. Thus, he made a daring assumption. What was the most unexpected place? It was most likely to be the key to pass this round.
Normally, the thing that most people couldn't think of where the solution was. Otherwise, how could the Mystic Thearch show his wisdom?

The most unexpected thing was the infinite zombie soldiers. They were ugly, harrowing, filthy, and disgust. Who would want to pay more attention to them? People were dying to annihilate all the zombie soldiers; who would want to study them? 
If the key to pass this round indeed lied on these zombie soldiers, Jiang Yi would absolutely give the Mystic Thearch a thumbs-up and respect him with all his heart.

Jiang Yi stopped going forward. Instead, he slammed down his sword for countless times and cleared all the zombie soldiers around him. After that, he endured the disgusting aura, stepping on the rotten meat, and entering a room along the street. 
He was completely safe in this room. He didn't have to worry about the zombie soldiers outside at all. He just needed to occasionally give a stroke to kill the approaching zombie soldiers. Thus, he had enough time to study these zombie soldiers.
After going into the room, he entered the state of the Union of Heaven and Man and devoted all his energy into detecting the zombie soldiers around him. 
A zombie soldier rushed in. It was in rugged armor and held a pitch-black halberd. He had already turned. His tens fingers were black, and long nails grew on them. Canines grew from his mouth, and his pale face showed a faint black color. He showed no sign of living and was surrounded by a black aura.
He rushed in silently. His footsteps were quiet, and he was nimble. The halberd was surrounded by a black aura and was suddenly slammed at Jiang Yi. His empty eyes showed no emotions. He was really a walking dead.
Bang!
Jiang Yi casually gave a strike of the sword, and two fire dragons flew out, squashing the zombie's armor and weapons into pieces, along with several other zombie soldiers behind him. The minced meat shot out in the room. Some bounced back onto Jiang Yi and were burned into ashes by the Earth fire, letting out an unpleasant, burnt smell. However, Jiang Yi acted as if he never smelt them. He stood calmly in the room, waiting for more zombie soldiers. 
"There is nothing abnormal with this zombie soldier. He showed no signs of life. Though he was fast, he was as stiff as a zombie. Do I guess wrong?" 
The zombie soldiers were blown into pieces one by one. The walls, the ceiling, and ground were covered with minced meat and bloodstains. There was so much meat in the room, which almost buried Jiang Yi. Thus, he rushed out and changed to a smaller room, continuing to look into the zombie soldiers. 
After one hour… after two hours…!
Jiang Yi had slaughtered several hundred zombie soldiers and changed dozens of rooms. He examined the zombie soldiers over and over again but didn't find anything.
His mind was filled with deep doubts. He suspected that his thoughts were wrong. He had checked several hundred zombie soldiers, but every one of them was similar. There was nothing suspicious.
Hoo-Hoo!
He had no choice but to exit the state of the Union of Heaven and Man. He felt even more exhausted this time. The inner disappointment and physical exhaustion tired him out. He was dying to just lie down and sleep for days and nights. 
However, he couldn't fall asleep. If he did, he would never wake up… the same for Jiang Xiaonu, Feng Luan, Zhan Wushuang, and the rest.
Jiang Yi stared at the incoming zombie soldiers dumbfoundedly. He casually shot out two fire dragons. Seeing them bursting in front of him, Jiang Yi sighed deeply, frowned, and mumbled, "What's the secret of these dead men?" 
After he said this, he suddenly lifted his brows and sensed something was wrong. However, he couldn't name the exact problem. An idea suddenly occurred to him; he repeated the sentence just now. "What did I say… what's these dead men's secret? That's right… dead men. 'Dead men' is an inappropriate phrase!
"They are not dead men. How can the dead attack on their own? How can the dead detect my direction and chase me all the way? Since they are dead, they shouldn't know anything or move. They should be no different from a pile of mud or ashes. So, why can they still attack? They are not dead men; I was misled. Mystic Thearch, you have my 100% respect. Hahaha!"
Jiang Yi burst into laughing. He found the key to pass the third round unknowingly; he found the door of life!

There was no soul spirit or aura of life!
Dead men were indeed no different from a rock or a pile of mud. Even if ghosts, zombies, and zombie soldiers really existed in this world, they were created by men, refined by men with some witchery. 
In other words, men were not confined by ghosts, but men were behind the ghosts! 
The Bridge of Helplessness, Yellow Springs Path, Fengdu City, Nether World… were all made up by men. The Soul-Devouring Crocodile, ghosts, zombies, and zombie soldiers were created on purpose to whip up fear and weaken men. 
The goal was very simple: it was to steel the martial artist's will. If a martial artist didn't have a strong heart, how could he persevere in the face of difficulties and change his destiny? Since the zombie soldiers were manipulated, then he just had to find their central processor. Then, he would easily defeat them. 
He glanced at the zombie soldier over and over again. In just five minutes, his soul trembled. He found the core—the key to control the zombie soldiers.
The black aura was the core. The black aura surrounding the zombie soldiers was the key to control them.

Right at that time, a man hurriedly ran over and whispered a few words to the guard by the door. After hearing from him, the guard quickly turned and came in, quietly walking to the Deputy Chief behind Si Kongchen. Without interrupting the others, he bent over and said a few words to that Deputy Chief with a low voice. Next, the Deputy Chief had his expression change. He immediately stood up and made two steps forward, then whispered in Si Kongchen's ear. 
Seeing that, the others stopped talking and fixed their eyes on Si Kongchen.
After hearing his subordinate, Si Kongchen frowned. Then, he stood up from the armchair as he looked at the others and said, "My people just reported to me that the zombie was seen in the base. I need to handle it now. My friends, you can either join me or head back to your own room to rest."
While speaking, he nodded at the people and then walked out of the room with big steps.
"Eh? Did the zombie run out by itself?" Wu Chengyue looked at the others with surprise.
"Ah, how could they let it run? Shouldn't they have hidden it well? If only there was a level-seven space possessor… In that case, we'd be able to conveniently put that zombie into the space," said Lu Zhuofeng with laughter. 
Most of the space possessors had airless spaces. Their spaces couldn't contain living creatures, but could contain zombies, because zombies didn't need air. Without the sunlight, zombies wouldn't die, and would only quiet down.
However, the zombie was a special kind of creature. When a space possessor put a zombie into his or her space, the space would start shrinking. The higher was the zombie's level, the smaller would the space become. At last, the space would fail to contain the zombie's body.
Therefore, only level seven or eight space possessors were able to put a level-seven zombie into their spaces. However, no one had even heard about any space possessor above level five yet. 
So, Lu Zhuofeng was only joking.
"I'll go and take a look. This is a great opportunity. If Huaxia Base people catch that zombie, they'll hide it again, right?" Lan Lu stood up and headed toward the door while speaking.
No one else wanted to stay in the room. They all wanted to see that zombie!
"Who are those people? They stole the zombie, and then let it run? I can't believe it." said Bao Chengzhi, the leader of Mongols Base who had been staying silent the whole time. While speaking, he was also walking out of the room.
Wu Chengyue smilingly followed behind the others. As all the others were looking at the door, he glanced at the room before leaving.
Standing by the door, Lin Qiao noticed his move, feeling a little strange.
Was he suspecting something?
On the other side of the base, the black panther had already rushed into a farm from a residential area. He flashed across the air swiftly, leaving nothing but a shred of dark shadow before disappearing within a blink.
"Over there! It ran into the farm!" Wei Haichao, a member of the board in Huaxia Base got there timely and speedily followed the panther into the farm. He was a level-seven plant-power possessor. His sensations were sharper than that of many superpowered people, so he actually located the zombie.
The farm in Huaxia Base was huge, occupying over a thousand acres of land. The farm was covered in all kinds of crops. At first glance, one would see thriving vegetables or cereals, and the fruit trees on the hills in the further area. 
Wei Haichao rushed into the farm ahead of the others. Being surrounded by plants, his plant power would become twice as strong. 
Following behind him was a great army. Under his direction, the soldiers quickly moved toward the black panther from all directions. The vehicles were running on the narrow soil roads in the farm, stirring up clouds of dust. Soon, they had to get off the car and keep moving on foot.
The zombie was heading toward a hill with fruit trees, and cars couldn't reach that area.
However, the troop didn't manage to catch up with that zombie. Wei Haichao got a little closer to the zombie, but only a little. After all, the zombie possessed animal power. As a plant power possessor, he was much slower than the zombie! 
Thanks to his plant power, he never lost the track of the zombie, even though he couldn't catch up with it. With no other choice, he kept following behind the zombie while waiting for reinforcements.
A dark figure flashed across the woods and landed on a tree. The zombie turned to glance back and saw nothing, only sensing a vibe coming straight at him.
Lin Kui, of course, remembered everything before he turned into a zombie. He didn't turn into a zombie when the apocalypse came. Instead, he was bitten by a zombie panther from a zoo. When he woke up, he found himself in a completely different shape.
His palms were covered in fur, and nails were as sharp as beast claws. The world in his eyes became black and white, like the images in a black-and-white television.
He remembered that a zombie panther bit him, but had no idea why it didn't eat him. After waking up, he quickly checked his body and found no other wound, save for a large scratch on his face.
Soon after that, he found the dead body of that zombie panther. He checked it and found a bullet hole on its head. Clearly, it was shot. Perhaps someone passed by before the panther ate him. 
He didn't know who killed the panther and accidentally protected him. So, he dug out the bullet from the panther's head. 
After that, he lived a very hard life. Any food tasted like mud in his mouth. The only thing that made him feel extremely hungry was the scent of living human beings. Once he smelled living humans, the desire of feeding would occupy his head, and his mind would go blur. He controlled that appetite with difficulties. To stop himself from losing his mind and attacking people madly, he ran away from all humans that he met.
One day, another zombie attacked him. He had no idea why that zombie attacked him, but he fought back nevertheless. During the battle, he accidentally smashed the zombie's head and found his first zombie nucleus.
He sensed an attractive type of energy from that zombie nucleus. Unlike human flesh, that energy tempted him in a different way. He was instinctively attracted to that energy. 
He wiped that zombie nucleus with his clothing for a few times, then reluctantly swallowed it. 


Lin Qiao remembers nothing from the past five years since the post-apocalyptic era began. She wakes up only to find herself having become a newborn, superpowered zombie, in a body that used to belong to an evil and notorious woman!

Having kidnapped a girl and raped her father, the previous host met her demise at the very hands of the conspiracies she courted all her life, leaving Lin Qiao no choice but to deal with the consequences while trying to figure out her own past and the fate of her loved ones. 

As for the little girl’s father, can’t he just have a decent fight? He’s a human being, but why is he biting a zombie? She’s the zombie! She’s the one who’s supposed to bite! 

Haruto throw a piece of rock on the window of the apartment. 

Clang!

The window was shattered immediately as soon as the rock collided at its surface. 

The sound it cause made the zombies turned their heads to look. The zombie slowly approached the apartment with uneven steps.

Seeing this, Haruto took a deep breath. He jumped forward and run in the opposite direction of the zombies as fast as he could. 

He run faster while carefully looking at his surrounding. He doesn't want any zombies to notice him. He wasn't prepared to fight any of them, plus with their numbers even if he have a weapon he doesn't have a chance to win.

Luckily for him, he was very athletic. He arrived inside one of the apartment in just a few seconds. He quickly locked the door behind him. 

Tap! Tap!

Haruto flinched as he heard a footsteps behind him. Rotten smell quickly assaulted his nose. 

He gulped as he slowly turned his head to look behind him. 

He saw a human corpse slowly walking towards him. It was covered in dry blood. One of its eyes was hanging outside of the eye socket. Its bloodied figure slowly moved towards him.

"Raaa!" 

A low growl escape from the zombie. It raised both of its hand attempting to grab him.

"Shit!" 

He raised his feet and kicked the body of the zombie.

Bang!

The zombie crashed in the table causing a loud sound. 

Black sticky liquid stuck on his pants when he kick the zombie. 

"Move!"

He quickly run towards the kitchen of this apartment. There, he found a kitchen knife. Then, he turned around and face the zombie.

He slashed the knife on the neck of the zombie before he stabbed it on the head. 

Putchi!

The zombie stopped its movement and fell down on the ground. All of this happened in just a mere few seconds. 

"That's first kill." 

He muttered as he wiped the sweat forming on his head. He was glad that he learned basic fighting skills before. To think that he would need it to kill zombies. 

He pulled the knife from the head of the zombie. 

He walked towards the window and took a look outside. He saw that the zombies outside were heading towards this apartment.

"That's too many." His mouth twitched while looking at the hundreds of zombies walking towards his direction.

Based on the movement speed of the zombies, it will take take atleast one minutes before they arrived here.

He quickly run around the apartment and found the backdoor. He slowly opened and looked outside. When he saw that it was safe, he exited the apartment and went to the neighboring three-story house.

From the far away building, a woman holding a telescope in her eyes was looking at this scene on the rooftop of a building. 

She saw everything that happened to Haruto. After a few moments, she brought down the telescope and looked behind her. 

"How is it?" A man in his thirties asked her. He was wearing a black tank top and navy blue pants with lots of blood stain. There's two handgun hanging on his waist. 

"There's a person near the southern entrance of the city." She said to the man. 

"Alive! How many?" The man was quite surprised hearing this.

"Just one person." The woman answer as she tied her silky black hair in a pony tail before she walked passed the man. She was wearing a fitted black shirt and military pants coupled with military boots. 

"One person, huh? Well, that person will not live that long." The man muttered in a low voice.

Haruto stood behind the door of the three-story house. He moved quietly as he closed the windows and covered it with cabinets. 

"Okay, let's kill those damn zombies!" He said with a smile on his face as he started to walked around the house. 

He already learned his lesson from before, so he will find the zombie if there's any inside this house. 

He just need to be careful and he would be able to kill one or two zombies on his own. The movements of the zombies were simple and stiff. It's easy to predict their movements for someone like him who learned martial arts. He just need to calm down and those zombies were no matched for him. 

There's a room at his left side. He place his hand on the doorknob and slowly opened it. 

Swooosh!

Cold wind escape from the room and brushed his face. He shivered because of this. He bit his lower lip as he peek inside the room. 

He saw tons of can foods inside the room and a figure standing motionless in front of the open refrigerator. 

"There's electricity here." 

He was glad when he found that there's electricity in this house. He shouldn't think about other things as there's a zombie in front of him.

He carefully went inside the room and closed the door beside him. He then approached the zombie before piercing its head with a knife. 

Putchi!

Before the zombie fell on the ground, Haruto caught it in his arms as he doesn't want it to cause any sounds. 

He gritted his teeth as he lay down the zombie on the ground. While doing this, he felt his stomach turning upside down. 

Black sticky liquid stuck on his shirt and palm. 

"What the hell is this liquid?!" He cursed in a low voice as he stood up and cleaned his palm using a handkerchief.

He took out his phone as he felt it vibrated when he killed the zombie before. He looked at the system prompts that he received.

[Mission: Kill 500 zombies. Progress: 2/500]

[Gain 1 points for killing a zombie!]

[Gain 2 points for killing a zombie!]

"Hmm...? What's with this points?" He muttered curiously when he saw the prompts. 

He checked his phone and found that there's [Item], [Equipment], [Combat Arts], [Abilities], [Magic Spell],[World], [Forum], [Duel], [Guild], and [Ranking] interface but all of this were locked. He needs to finish the Newbie World first before he could unlocked all of this. 

There's no point in thinking about these things when he still haven't finished the Newbie World. He could only guess that the points were important to this game. 

He shook his and exited the room. There's a lot of can foods there so he doesn't have any problem in foods. He should worry about the missions instead.

He walked ahead and opened a room beside. He looked and found that this room was a room of a child. It was full of tottered stuff toys. 

There's a family picture on the ground. 

He noticed it and picked it up. He looked at it and saw a family of five people. They were all smiling happily but now he didn't know what happened to them. 

This zombie outbreak ruined all the lives living being in this world. Not just humans, it also includes animals as he saw that there's mutated animals in this world on his phone. 

Then he went to the second floor. He saw a figure of a woman walking. This woman was already dead. 

"The residents of this house were all dead." Haruto murmured in a low voice. 

This woman must be the mother of the family and the zombie he killed before was the father. 

He slowly approached the zombie and stabbed his knife on the head of the zombie. 

He's slowly getting used to this scene. Killing a zombie was slowly becoming a natural feeling to him. 

He lay down the zombie on the ground. 

If he's correct then there's three zombie left here in this house. 

"Huff..." Haruto took a deep breath and tightened all of his muscles.

"All right, let's do this!"

He tapped his knife on the metal pole on the stairs. The sounds was loud enough for people to hear it around the house but it wasn't loud enough for the people outside to hear.

He was going to wrapped up this. He's going to kill all the three zombies left. The children of the woman and man that he killed before. 

Soon, he heard footsteps from the floor above and the rooms ahead of him. A zombie walked out of the room and looked at him with crazy eyes. 

"I'm putting you to rest, so rest in peace." He said as ha dashed towards the zombie. 

The zombie stretched out its hands.

Haruto crouched down and slashed the knees of the zombie. 

Thud!

The zombie fall on its knees. He quickly stabbed his knife on the eye socket of the zombie. 

Putchi!

He pulled out his knife as he need to killed the other two zombies here in this house.

Haruto was bored of his everyday life. He wants to change something from him. 

He wants to go on adventures and discover new things. 

One day, someone send him a link to a game called [God World Game].

He installed the game thinking that it wouldn't brought him any harm. 

He wouldn't expect that this game would brought him a new things that he haven't experience before.

Technology had become everything and then some jerk uploaded a virus into the world's systems causing mass system crashes everywhere and if that wasn't bad enough someone released a biological weapon that turned 90% of humanity into zombies the upside is those who were immune suddenly found that they now had a system that basically granted them superpowers. I am a survivor of the tech plague I was literally a nothing just some gamer geek who looked like a ghost because I didn't see much sun in fact the first time I realized something was going on was when I flipped on the tv and got nothing but static.
    I turned on my radio and listened for the emergency broadcast and finally found out that the world as I knew it had been utterly destroyed most infected had turned into some form of zombie the majority of which were either sprinters or walkers sprinters are from the more athletic people in life who jogged or ran while walkers are just the average person body builders became tanks literally undead beasts that have so much mucle they are nearly impossible to kill with a firearm though thankfully only the ones on steroids seemed to bulk up to proper tanks and then the people who were seriously overweight became walking bombs all the fat in their bodies converted into toxic plague ridden gases one hit and they explode. The special undead who still retained their memories some even gained the abilities reserved for the living and now the living most are simply mundanes no special abilities to speak of yet still they became stronger and faster than they were originally and finally the specials who got every kind of psionic ability unlocked though most only had one or two of them everything from remote viewing to pyrokinesis and telepathy it was exciting to find out though I didn't learn it from the emergency broadcast but the ramblings of a pirate radio station. 
    I didn't feel any stronger or faster so I figured I'd not gotten infected yet but just to be sure I browsed the Internet and looked up a wiki on the hows and whys surprisingly the internet was still up. I found out that the more zombies you kill in melee combat the better your chances of not becoming a zombie and of getting your psionic powers unlocked. I decided to search through my place to find anything of use and found a replica sword that was both blunt and heavy made to be displayed but could probably kill a couple zombies if I tried though I'd have to reinforce the handle and put an edge on it before I did and I also found my autographed baseball bat that would certainly work for killing zombies so I doubled up on shirts put my toughest jacket on and put longer shorts on over my pants and duck taped newspapers around my forearms then I put on my toughest set of gloves which happened to be open finger type leather motorcycle gloves and then I set out to kill some zombies.
     My first encounter went terribly I met a sprinter and he rusher me before I could get a swing in luckily I managed to fend him off long enough to draw my dull sword and stab him with my dull blade which slowed him down enough to get a connection with my bat. I recovered my sword and looked for another line zombie to kill and quickly found another this one a walker and it turned out to be an easy fight after all how strong can a disease make a 90 year old grandmother who had been my neighbor for years. I was starting to get the hang of killing zombies and got a little cocky so when I spotted three walkers I tried to take them all on bad idea I managed to take the first zombies head right off with my sword but then it broke and the blade impaled the third zombie not slowing it in the least my bat easily took out the second zombie but by then the third was trying to bite me so I pushed it back and sliced my left hand open on the broken sword blade. I managed to finish the last zombie and retreat to my apartment to deal with my wounded hand using some dishrags and duct tape I even doused it with alcohol before I put it on boy did that not feel good ouch. I sat down after performing some first aid and contemplated what it would take to heal up my hand time wise and winced I'd killed 5 zombies and now I had a crippling injury that might take a month to heal I was not happy in the least and now I was half as effective with my baseball bat. 
    My situation wasn't looking good but I had to keep killing zombies before the plague took me so I dug out what food I had and found some jerky and beef sticks which I devoured and then I grabbed my biggest steak knife and went back out. My next encounter was perfect a lone zombie and a walker too I quickly dispatched it and went apartment by apartment killing zombies with my knife which proved far easier than looking for them in the lobby and safer as they were usually alone. I quickly racked up twenty five zombie kills in a few hours and started getting tired so I headed home to rest and recuperate my energy.
     For 5 days I continued killing zombies at about the same pace racking up an impressive 124 zombie kills in melee combat and I decided to check the wiki and see how many I'd need to kill to be guaranteed to get a super power and found a whole list of complaints and comments saying that it was a scammer and a prank etc and I just sat there stunned like a fish out of water. I had been scammed why who would come up with a scam to make people risk their lives to kill zombies I was so frustrated that I threw my keyboard and smashed the monitor and then I put on my zombie killing suit and went to go kill some zombies to take out my rage and frustration.
     By the end of that day I had added 41 zombies to my kill count now at 175 zombie kills and I spent that night curled into a ball crying from exhaustion and rage I was going to kill every single zombie I found and I didn't care how many that was I had run out of food and even the neighbors had been wiped out it was time to go to the store and I just knew it would be zombie central. I woke up the next day and I hurt everywhere and was lethargic and then I knew I had contracted the disease and I wouldn't have to worry about food again I'd probably become a zombie so I made myself a proper last meal and lay down on the couch as I ate it eating mechanically I knew that I would be changing in a couple hours and I didn't care anymore though I did unlock my door and open it before I crawled into bed to await my fate. 
     I passed out at some point and woke up totally disoriented and tired but completely aware could I have survived the infection and become a mundane or hope against hope become a special human gifted with powerful abilities. I stumbled my way to the bathroom feeling stronger with every step and flicked on the bathroom lights and turned to the mirror and screamed. I had transcended my base humanity I had gained something unlike anything else that I'd ever had or been.
