After you confirm what genre and topic you wish to write about, it's now time for you as an author to design your settings and write the overall planned outline for your plot. As for why I'm putting these two elements together, that's because these two elements are deeply interconnected and inseparable.
 
When you're writing the overall outline, this is basically coming up with the story's plot. As you write the outline, what you're actually doing is fleshing out the details for your setting.
 
When you're writing a story, of course, you need to first consider where your story will happen, when it happens, who it happens to, and what type of person it happens to. As the story progresses, you also need to consider who the main character will meet in the story, what time and place he or she meets them at, along with who's stronger and who's weaker than the main character…
 
This is why by the time that you're finished with your overall outline, the world's background, various factions, levels, special abilities, treasures, all the important characters… and such settings will be naturally completed during the course of outlining.
 
The reverse is true as well. If you first work on designing the detailed settings instead, then you'll basically end up with an outline for the story's plot and how the main character grows over the story as well.
 
Of course, there's still some differences depending on which angle you start from. However, newcomer authors like you don't need to worry about this. You can simply create based on your personality and whatever you prefer. It doesn't matter whether you start from the settings or the outline. You can even do both at the same time.
 
For newcomer authors like you, there's only five points that are critically important for you to understand.
 
1.      Having an overall outline isn't absolutely necessary, but having one is always better than not having one
 
Theoretically speaking, even if you didn't prepare an overall outline, it might not affect the progress of you writing your novel at all. There are some authors out there that simply write whatever comes into their mind and go with the flow.
 
Of course, this is all just a best-case scenario in theory. For the great majority of authors out there, once your story's plot exceeds your planned outline... 

Your outline will help your story stay on track in the early stages, but once you reach the mid and late stages, all sorts of problems often appear, such as too many plotlines all at once, self-contradictory plotlines, or writer's block…
 
At such a time, authors will typically regret not creating a more detailed outline, but it's already too late now. Actually, overall outlines have more uses than you think.
 
Since webnovels are typically longer than normal novels, they take much longer to write as well. Typically, it takes an average author several months or even longer to finish writing everything in their overall outline. By the time that they're finish writing everything in their overall outline, most authors will have new ideas and insights into what they want to write. Once they combine their new ideas with their original outline, in a way, this gives them two sources of inspiration. It's basically the equivalent of two people working together, and on top of that, these two people know exactly what each other are thinking.
 
It's easy to see how this can be helpful in improving the quality of your novel.
 
Apart from this, while creating an overall outline, the author can also discover many topics or problems with the settings and correct them in time.
 
To give an extreme example, if you're having a great difficulty with writing your overall outline and don't know what to do with your own plot, this proves that there's a large problem with your plot. You should either make major changes, or delete this part of your plot entirely.
 
So, newcomer authors definitely shouldn't overlook the uses of having an overall outline. No matter if you have a good or bad outline, a simple or a detailed one, as long as you have one, that's good.
 
What needs to be noted is that only outlines that have been written out truly count as outlines.
 
Even if you as an author have a very detailed outline, and even if you've solidly memorized every single plot point in your outline, any outline that hasn't been written into your novel doesn't count as a true outline. That's because when you actually start writing, you'll discover that what you finally end up writing will always have differences from what you envisioned.
 
2.      You need to finish your outline, but it doesn't need to be complete
 
Thinking about your outline is equivalent to thinking about your novel's plot. You need to consider both the beginning and the end. You also need to think about everything that the main character experiences from the beginning to the end of the story.
 
If your outline isn't finished, but only half-finished, you won't even be able to predict the storylines that come later, which will cause you to have difficulties writing your plot once you finish the beginning stages. This is basically the same as not having an outline at all.
 
Still, there's no need for us to make the outline as detailed as possible from the very beginning, with so many specific scenarios for all your plots. The reason for this is quite simple—none of us know just how long our novels will turn out to be in the end.
 
A story that's written with the intent of becoming a commercial product needs to be sufficiently long enough right from the planning stage. The longer your potential story, the better. But actually, how many words it finally ends up with depends on how well your story performs.
 
If your story is incredibly popular and performs well in the market, then we can consider writing it for as long as possible. However, if your story obviously isn't popular with readers, then you can consider ending your story in a timely fashion at an appropriate point in the plot so that you can think of a new story instead. That would be a wiser decision if you wish to become a professional author.
 
Of course, when you're only in the outlining stage, it's impossible for you as a newcomer author to know how readers will react to your novel. Precisely because of this, you need to have a flexible writing plan. What this means is that you should have an outline that's detailed in the beginning and general near the end. For the beginning of your story, you should have as detailed an outline as possible, while for the middle and especially the later parts of your story, you only need some general ideas. All you need is to consider the overall development of the plot so that you know what direction to take your storyline in.
 
For example, maybe you planned that the beginning of your novel will be approximately 80,000 words, and you've prepared a 4,000-word outline for just the beginning. In that case, your outline for the next 80,000 words, the middle of your story, might only need 3000 words, and the meat of your story, another 240,000 words, might have an outline that's less than 1000 words.
 
Of course, as you continue writing your story, you should constantly update your outline as well. You should complete your outline for the next 80,000 words before you finish writing the first 80,000 words.
 
3.      Your settings need to be constantly updated

Just like writing an outline, you should first come up with the basic settings before you even begin writing, which includes your world background, main character's personality, power levels, and so on.
 
More specific settings, such as a powerful artifact that appears in the story, can be added as you write your story.
 
Unlike an outline, you don't need to fully plan out all of your settings at the very beginning. It's perfectly acceptable to think of new settings while you're writing.
 
However, newcomer authors need to note that while it's okay to come up with new settings as you write, you should write these settings down and add them to your outline or settings document as you write.
 
This is to help yourself check your own settings later in the future. Otherwise, a novel that reached over one million words and has lasted for one year or longer might cause you as an author to completely forget about something you wrote before in the past. It's even quite common to make a mistake when writing about the items that the main character possesses. Yet, there will always be a sharp-eyed reader or two that catches the author out in a misstep.
 
If you have a very detailed document on your settings, not only will you be able to greatly reduce your own plot continuity errors, you'll also be able to look through your settings whenever you have writer's block and find some inspiration in a side character that you have already forgotten about or some item that was mentioned before but never used again.
 
4.      It's better for your settings to be cliché
 
Here, this means the systems and names that you use for your settings. For example, the names and levels you use for a martial arts society.
 
Many newcomer authors will mistakenly think that using already existing well-known settings will make their novel seem too cliché, causing them to want to be as "unique" as possible. These authors will use their imaginations to come up with all sorts of fictional vocabulary words, which in their minds will make their novels "stand out." These newcomer authors don't realize that this is the worst possible way to write a novel. In the great majority of situations, this will have the opposite effect from intended.
 
A new original novel that you write should be a new interpretation or story about some specific genre or story type. How to make your novel stand out depends on the conflicts you create in your story and how the main character resolves them. As for coming up with new vocabulary words and names for your novel, even if you make them sound really cool, or make some modified slang words, it's almost never a good thing for you.
 
The reason for this can also be understood in my article about how to write the beginning of your story. By doing so, the author is placing more burden upon the readers to understand a larger amount of information.
 
There will always be other already existing words that you could have used, which are easily understood by all your readers. Instead, your readers now need to spend their time and effort on reading your explanations. Obviously, readers aren't here to read your technical manuals or info dumps. The more explanations that you have in your novel, the lower your novel's appeal and flow will become. But, if you don't add any explanations for your self-created words at all, the readers won't even understand what's going on.
 
This is why newcomer authors should avoid this useless type of "creativity" as much as possible. You should simply rely on settings that all readers are familiar with instead.
 
5.      The storyline should be pushed forward by using conflicts
 
Many newcomer authors will often develop writer's block when planning their outline or working on their novel.
 
Sometimes, this is because the author has made their storyline too messy. But most of the time, it's because the author feels like there's nothing to write about, or doesn't know what they should make the main character do. The author has no idea how to continue their own story.
 
In order to deal with writer's block, or in other words, how to push your storyline alone, the answer is actually incredibly simple.
 
You can answer this question using only one word – Conflicts!
 
Actually, the critical element of all webnovels can be summed up into one word – conflicts. For example, leveling is the desire or need of the main character to become stronger, which is a conflict between the main character and his or her own current weakness.
 
And since there is a conflict, you must resolve the conflict. And so, your main character wants to cultivate to become stronger, which means he needs to travel around the world in order to find cultivation methods…
 
All sorts of conflicts will both push forward your storyline as well as create numerous climaxes for your readers. It can be said that how you design your conflicts is the very foundation of writing any novel, not just a webnovel.
 
As for a more detailed analysis on how to design your story's conflicts, please read my intermediate-level article on the topic. For newcomer authors like you, you simply need to understand this concept, and know that you should keep coming up with new conflicts whenever you're having trouble keeping up with your own storyline. Try finding potential conflicts from plots, characters, and items you've already used, or forcefully introduce a new element into your story that creates a new conflict.
 
This can be said to be one of the most basic techniques of planning your storyline.

Myths and Misconceptions
The brain is far too complex to be studied in a meaningful way.
Innovative research in both the medical and biological psychology fields has made immense progress in revealing how the brain works and how it affects behaviour. In particular, technological advances in being able to generate images of the brain have enabled scientific research in this area to progress at a rapid pace. Have a look at the research being carried out at King's College London into infant brain development. 
One day, it will be possible to use genetics to explain a substantial amount of human behaviour.
Although a considerable amount of research into genetically inherited behaviour has been conducted, scientists are still unable to state with certainty the degree to which behaviours such as aggression are predominantly influenced by genes. Indeed, as human behaviour is so complex, working out which genes are responsible for different behaviours is a phenomenally difficult undertaking for scientists. In this article, Dorothy Bishop, a professor at the University of Oxford, debates this notoriously problematic issue in genetic research. Moreover, determining how far genes influence behaviour is further complicated by the influence of external environmental factors such as stress and type of upbringing on both our behaviour and our genetic makeup. 
Pheromones can influence our behaviour without our awareness.
Some researchers have claimed that odourless pheromones secreted from our body can influence the behaviour of others. For example, Martha McClintock's research suggests that females living in close proximity will give off pheromones that then cause their menstrual cycles to synchronise. However, other researchers have questioned the existence of pheromones in humans and thus argue that pheromone research in humans is based on flawed assumptions. 
1. The Rise of the Biological Approach in Psychology
During the 19th century, a quiet revolution in assessing how brain and behaviour are linked was taking place in the consulting clinics of such physicians as Paul Broca in France and Carl Wernicke in Germany. By adopting a systematic analysis of patients with language difficulties, these researchers helped to establish the scientific study of brain localisation. Broca's analysis of speech production deficits in his patients along with post-mortem brain analysis of some of these patients helped him to isolate a left frontal brain area that is responsible for the generation of language. Today, this area is known as Broca's area. Taking the same approach, Wernicke demonstrated that an area of the temporal lobe called the posterior superior temporal gyrus caused deficits in speech comprehension and the ability to produce meaningful language. This area is now known as Wernicke's area. The work conducted by Wernicke and Broca and other researchers at the time led to the acknowledgement of the importance of studying brain-damaged individuals. This has resulted in the case study approach becoming a significant research tool in modern biological psychology and has led to the establishment of a discipline in psychology called clinical neuropsychology. 
Researchers like Broca and Wernicke were at the forefront of the 19th-century movement towards a more systematic, scientific way of investigating the natural world. One of the most famous proponents of this approach was Charles Darwin, who, in producing his theory of evolution, had himself documented thousands of observations around the world to provide evidence for his theory. At that stage, science was a long way from understanding evolutionary mechanisms down to the genetic level as a result of the lack of scientific technology. However, scientific advances in research and technology eventually revealed that genes formed the building blocks of evolutionary mechanisms. In the last couple of decades, the role that genes play in behaviour has led to the establishment of evolutionary psychology and also research into how far behaviour such as intelligence may be inherited.
Significant advances in brain imaging technology have helped to propel the legacy of researchers like Broca and Wernicke even further forwards with the use in the modern psychology of techniques that can image the live brain. Not only have such technologies reinforced findings from neuropsychological research into localisation, they have also enabled researchers to assess cognitive processes such as memory and thinking in individuals without brain damage. Consequently, such research has enabled researchers to make significant advances in understanding the brain and behaviour relationship. 
Furthermore, in conjunction with the medical field and also advances in medical science, biological psychologists have also increased our understanding of how hormones and pheromones affect behaviour. 
2. Research Methods of the Biological Approach
Researchers who take a biological approach to understanding behaviour believe that all human behaviour has a biological basis. This is not to say they believe that it is only biological, but that there is a relationship between the human body and especially the brain (the structure and processes of the human nervous system) and human behaviour. Moreover, because the nervous systems of many animals are similar in their structure and processes to that of humans, biological psychologists use animals in research to gain understanding about human behaviour.
Henry's legacy in terms of our knowledge about memory is highly significant because as a result of extensive research with him up to his death in 2008, Henry had contributed a wealth of data about his memory function. Firstly, given that his short-term memory was normal, this demonstrated that the short- and long-term memory systems in the brain must to some extent be separate otherwise Henry's brain damage would also have affected short-term memory processing. This finding reinforced the predictions of the multi-store model of memory that you will study in Chapter 5. However, what was intriguing about Henry's case, and indeed other similar cases of anterograde amnesia, is that it demonstrated that there are different types of long-term memory. Henry's brain damage specifically targeted episodic memory and he was, therefore, unable to form new memories of any event experienced after the surgery and this continued to the end of his life. However, he was able to form new procedural long-term memories. Procedural memories are those memories which are automatic such as knowing how to drive. This type of knowledge does not start out as automatic because clearly skills such as driving must be learned. These skills develop over time, however, and activities such as driving become easier and more automatic if we practise them regularly. Despite his extensive brain damage, Henry could form new procedural memories on activities such as a pursuit rotor task in which a participant tracks a moving object on a screen with a cursor. This task requires precision and must be practised regularly to gain expertise in the task.

Hello there  everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Halloween holiday!
I haven't updated a chapter in months and I deeply apologize for that. I disappeared without notice. But here I am, back and alive, fully safe, in blood and flesh.
Now I am back, but I won't be updating chapters any soon. I have decided to stop writing this book as I reached Chapter 6 I think? Well, a chapter that isn't the middle of the book. I decided that the best would be for me to re-write 'Left Unspoken' and this time, with an outline.
Now please hear me out. Months ago when I was doing it, I was just going with the flow, with what came to find. My goal was word count and updating. Not the quality, I valued quantity more. And no outline was present anywhere. But it is time I switch over and act like I say. I always say 'quality should always come over quality' and I will do what I said.
I wrote a vague outline on what is going to happen. I did change some concepts and events, but you can still find many similarities in both stories (well when the second one exists). Now that I have my outline, I can finally start!
How long will this take me? Now writing a book takes most authors about six months to a year. That said, your timeline will depend on the length and genre of your book, as well as your day-to-day writing routine. The amount of research and outlining you do beforehand can also affect how long it takes for you to write a book. That means the book will take up to a year for me to write, maybe even more. It will be a novella, which is slightly shorter than a novel leading it to take me less time. 
Let's not forget, I have school and exams and all sorts of stuff that can take my mind off writing. I have chores, a family and a life as well. I'm even still self-improving at art which is the thing I enjoy most doing, other than writing. I'm also a person that gets distracted really  easily, and when I say really easily, I mean it. So, it is pretty clear that writing isn't the only thing I have on my table.
The process is not just writing words on a screen (or a paper if you may). First comes the outline, then the drafting, then the editing, the proofreading. And that only by myself. Then come all kinds of editing made by other people like developmental editing and copyediting. Aaaand, the COVER. In these case, do judge a book by its cover! There are other stuff you got to do to get it out and there. It is some handful.
Now, when I do eventually finish this big project, there's a huge probability I will publish it on amazon because why not? It's free and it shares by book world-wide! Anyways, I am really excited for this!!! 
Notice that this change of events has a huge advantage for me; that I get to write at my own pace without having to worry about people waiting for the next chapter. Of course, there are many other advantages, but that one really gives my heart a break.
I really hope this did not upset you in any way. I will make sure to remember to keep giving you updates, both through the process and when it's published. I hope y'all stay tuned and don't forget to always place quality over quantity.

"Where are we?", Pelleas asks while turning around in an open field of flowers. 

Danyll asks, "Where is Bonnie?"

Jamal stares out into the distance with a puzzled look on his face. Suddenly, something catches Jamal's eye in the distance. A small dot stands just before the horizon of a nearby hill. Jamal tries to focus his eyes and realizes the small dot is a person in the distance. Jamal yells, "Hey!", before running towards the far off person. Pelleas and Danyll chase after Jamal, both confused and desperate. 

The three warriors approach the distant figure, which grows closer and larger with each step. As Jamal nears the mystery person, he recognizes the outline of the character. "Janet?", Jamal asks and he reaches out to turn the mystery person around. 

Jamal grabs the person's shoulder and spins her around to reveal his friend Janet, whom Jamal has not seen since starter town. Jamal asks Janet, "What are you doing here?"

Janet stares at Jamal with a cold stare and replies, "The question is what are you doing, Jamal?"

Jamal takes a few steps backwards, but bumps into someone behind him. Jamal turns around to see Brago, Jack, and Mack. All three look down on Jamal with anger and contempt. Pelleas and Danyll have disappeared. 

[Intro]

Jamal backs away from his old friends, who continue to stare with malicious glares. Janet, Brago, Jack, and Mack slowly step towards Jamal, backing down the small hero with their pressure. 

Janet says, "What do you think you are doing Jamal? You are just a little pip squeak. Did you really think you could be a hero?"

Jamal asks Janet, "What are you talking about, Janet? What are you doing here? How did you find me?"

Jack says, "Obviously we are better at finding you than you were at finding us."

Mack continues, "You left us to get eaten by that crazy infected beast and we lost everything because of you!"

Jamal says, "No, that's not what happened! Brago knows we tried to fight that animal, but it was too strong and we were too late to save you."

Brago says, "I remember finding you sleeping in the forest. You never went looking for our friends. Even when I was being crushed in front of your very eyes, all you could do was run away."

Jamal pauses because he can't think of anything to disprove what Brago is saying. 

Janet approaches Jamal slowly and says, "face it Jamal. You are not a hero because all you know how to do is run away."

Jamal's face shows signs of more and more desperation. 

Meanwhile, Danyll wanders through a cloudy fog looking for Jamal and Pelleas. His two friends disappeared behind a veil of confusion and Danyll was left by himself. Danyll can see the outline of a person hidden in the shadows of the surrounding fog. 

Danyll runs towards the shadowy person and yells out, "Jamal!" Danyll reaches out to grab his friend's shoulder as the fog clears away. 

Danyll is shocked when finally gets a good look at the person, who turns out to be Bonnie. Danyll wakes from his stunned expression and hugs Bonnie. "Bonnie! How did you get free? Where are the other two guys that were with you?"

Bonnie silently glares at Danyll as the two awkwardly separate from their embrace. Before Danyll can utter another word, Bonnie interrupts him. "You let me down Danyll. I'm so disappointed. You left me in the hands of those monsters and now look at what happened!"

Suddenly Bonnie vanishes in a cloud of fog. Danyll panics as he watches Bonnie disappear.  Then a deep, familiar voice calls out behind Danyll, "Danyll….."

Danyll slowly turns around and sees the outline of a king. The king's face is black from the shadows cast upon him so Danyll cannot see, but the clothes, jewels, and crown on the king's head seem very familiar to Danyll. 

Danyll says, "I know you…...I know you!....but why don't I know who you are? Why can't I remember?"

The shadowy figure of a king towers over Danyll making Danyll seem as small as a child. The deep voice of the king says, "Where did you go? I depended on you. Your kingdom depended on you!"

Behind the large king raises a shining city full of life and happiness. Danyll is humbled by the brightness shining before him. However, a dark cloud covers the city and drowns out any light. The buildings crumble and screams of terror echo around Danyll. 

As Danyll withers from the screams of women and children, the once regal king shrinks smaller in size. As he shrinks, the gold jewels and crown fall off the king and straight to the floor. The king's outline gets more and more frail. The robes become rags draped over a fragile man barely able to lift his head from the floor. 

Danyll reaches out to help the man up and the frail man reaches out to Danyll. As their hands come closer, the frail king quickly grabs Danyll's arm. The king pulls Danyll close and speaks face to face. The king's voice is no longer deep and soothing. The king's voice now sounds wild and demented. 

The king says, "Wake up Danyll! How long will you sleep?"

Danyll yells, "What do you want from me?"

The king pauses for a second to think before replying, "Do you have any change? Hahahahaha!" The king vanishes in a cloud of fog as Danyll is left alone screaming. 

As Jamal and Danyll struggle with their nightmares, Pelleas continues to wander alone in darkness. Pelleas cannot see anything around himself. Pelleas reaches out, but cannot see his hands. The Darkness is so thick that Pelleas begins to question if he is even moving at all. 

Pelleas stumbles around, disoriented, until a small flash of light shines down in the distance. Pelleas begins running towards the distant light. The light grows brighter and attracts the young Amule like a moth. 

Pelleas trips over his own feet and tumbles onto the floor right in front of the light. Pelleas lifts his head off the floor and sees a figure descending closer to Pelleas within the light like an angel. The bright light blinds Pelleas so he cannot see the angel's face. Pelleas can only see the outline of a small female Amule. 

The young girl calls out to Pelleas, "Brother…." Pelleas is shocked and tries harder to look up into the light. The harder he tries to see the angel, the more blinded Pelleas is from the light. 

Pelleas reaches up and screams, "Wait!" 

The angelic figure starts to rise into the distance with her arms stretched towards Pelleas. She says, "Brother, why didn't you protect me? I'm afraid. Help me!"

Pelleas reaches towards the fading light above and screams out, "Please come back! Adrianna!" The light disappears and so does the angelic figure. Pelleas is once again bathed in darkness with no guide to where he is.

"It's your fault you know." Pelleas hears a voice say from behind his back. Pelleas turns to see the shaded outline of an Amule looking down on him. Pelleas immediately recognizes the outline of his older brother Hamon Salas. Hamon says, "If you weren't around then maybe Adrianna would be."

Another shadowy figure appears from the darkness in the shape of his brother Onas, who stands on Hamon's left. Onas says, "We should have known the runt of the Salas clan couldn't handle protecting a wee girl."

A shadow version of Rydel appears in front of Pelleas and joins the other brothers. Rydel says, "Mother always told us not to pick on you. Who knew you would throw our whole family into chaos. We should have taken care of you when you were younger."

Behind a traumatized Pelleas appears an extra tall version of Pelleas' parents. Galan Salas looks down at Pelleas and says, "How could I ever trust the family name to such a runt?" Pelleas' mother looks away in shame of her son. 

Pelleas is tormented with the voices of his family and the memories of his sister.

"Why is that?" Chen Feng was astonished. A technician that did not possess much understanding of genetic abilities would actually be so sure of this fact.
"Because…" The technician inhaled before continuing, "…that is a place where all abilities are rendered ineffective."
Chen Feng's eyes widened. "What?"
"All abilities will be rendered ineffective," the technician repeated. "Regardless of what one uses, either unique abilities or unique methods, upon reaching the core, all abilities will be instantly deactivated. Regardless of what ability or method you have, it will be useless there."
Deactivated…
Chen Feng frowned. Genetic abilities were the only things genetic warriors could rely on. The moment they were deactivated, a genetic warrior would be as good as a cripple even in the outside world, let alone in the core. Chen Feng recalled the frozen sea. Back then, the scariest aspect of that place had been its effect of rendering one's abilities ineffective before killing one instantly. This resembled the core greatly. The only difference was the location, as at the core, one would have no place to escape.
Hold on…
Chen Feng looked at the outlines drawn on the screen. How about these guys?
The technician smiled bitterly. "Right, that's what we are most worried about. Numerous experts were deployed there previously, yet all of them were instantly killed upon arrival. That is a place nobody can survive. Yet these life-forms…"
So that's why. Chen Feng's expression became solemn as he finally realized how grave this was. The main point wasn't the effectiveness of genetic abilities down there at the core. Rather, those unknown existences were the main point here.
A place that humanity still couldn't enter even after the joint effort of Research Agency and Genetic Union but where, in an unfathomable manner, some bizarre life-forms had appeared, moving around down there like they were on the surface instead. They had even caused a tremor that had shaken the entire world. This could be considered a light tremor. If they were to truly do something crazy down there, such as creating a larger tremor, thus creating numerous disaster-level earthquakes worldwide, humanity wouldn't be that far off from extinction. The core was indeed extremely solid, seemingly incapable of being destroyed, yet this fact was only proven for humans.
The technician was anxious. "We must deal with this. We must figure out what exactly those fellows are. Are they life-forms that came into existence naturally at the core? Or perhaps…" He paused and then continued, "They are humans."
Chen Feng narrowed his eyes. Humans... Although they only had a rough outline of the shapes and couldn't see clearly, what they could see greatly resembled humans. If these were truly humans…
"Is there any other news?" Chen Feng asked.
The technician shook his head. "No. Since their appearance, they have been staying there all this while."
"What are you guys planning to do?" Chen Feng asked. There were countless geniuses of multiple disciplines in both the Research Agency and Genetic Union. Although these people's strength was rather ordinary, they would still be able to help think of some solutions.
"We have already proposed and started a plan. The blue-diamond senior from the ancient race seems to be able to send people directly to the depths of the core. As such, we at the Research Agency created suits that were supposed to grant immunity to the damage dealt by the core, with some extra survival functions integrated into the suits as well. With this, we thought we might be able to encounter those life-forms," the technician reported honestly.
"What's the result of that?" Chen Feng had a rough guess.
The technician's expression darkened. "All dead. They are extremely powerful. All our people were instantly killed before we were able to gather any data."
The cameras they had installed had been destroyed before the cameras had even been able to capture the appearance of those life-forms.
"What is the assessment of their strength?" Chen Feng asked.
"Unknown." The technicians shook his head. "However, the people we sent were all pure beyond-A-class warriors with formidable physical prowess even without any genetic abilities."
If the Genetic Union were sending people there, they would definitely send the elites.
Beyond A classes…
Instantly killed…
Could those people be awakened ones? How was that possible? Chen Feng shook his head. It seemed like these newcomers were definitely not simple. However, Chen Feng was still feeling doubtful, as all this seemed too weird. The Research Agency had monitored the core for so many years, yet not a single life-form had been found.
That was the core, not some unknown region. If so, where had those fellows come from? After the integration of the humans and ancients, at present, only the ocean remained unexplored on this planet. Could it be that these fellows had come from the depths of the ocean?
"Beyond A class… Instantly killed… Awakened…" Chen Feng frowned. Suddenly, his eyes widened as he seemingly recalled something. Abruptly, he charged toward the screen, fixed his gaze on the outlines, and said, "Enlarge their heads."
Shua!
"Yes, this part, their temples. Enlarge it. More!"
The crude looking outlines were enlarged. Immediately, Chen Feng's expression changed. Even if the outlines appeared incredibly crude and had a lot of details missing, Chen Feng was still able to see something familiar there… On two sides of their heads, two things could be seen protruding out. Those seemed to be… twin horns!


Chen Feng, of modern earth, had suffered bad luck since birth. After finding the legendary “lucky artifact,” his bad luck peaked and he became the only person killed in an earthquake. By a twist of fate, he found himself transmigrated into a different and magical world! A world much larger than earth. A world only partially explored due to the dangers within. A world where human civilization centered around genes. In this world, human beings possessed all sorts of abilities due to genetic fusion. Some went on to create world-changing technologies with their mysterious genetic abilities, while others went on to become undefeated genetic warriors with their combat genetic abilities. How will Chen Feng fare in this new world?

Hey guys! It's been a while. I normally post daily, buuuut, I've been doing some thinking lately about this story. I'm so happy that I've been getting so many views. Almost 10,000! And almost 100 of you all followed. I'm so thankful for every single one of you all. That being said, I want to give you all a quality product, one that you all like and that I'm proud to produce. 
 
For that reason, I unfortunately have to announce that I'm putting Order & Fate: Rebellious Children into a temporary hiatus. 
 
I know, the synopsis said that I have the series outlined, and that I have a backlog. I do! However, just because I have a series outlined doesn't mean that the series is good. While I'm happy to have been given good ratings and reviews, I've been looking over the work that I've produced while receiving much needed criticism from external sources, and I strongly believe that this work that I've produced is not the best that I can make. 
 
I suppose I could've kept going, left this version as it was, then just deeply edit it and upload the good version to Amazon. I'm not that kind of person, though. That'd be super scummy. Besides, I still want to give you all a quality product, which I feel this web novel is not... in it's current state.  
 
Soooo, what's so bad about it? I thought it was pretty neat. 
 
Thanks! But you can't see behind the scenes on this one. I'm sure a few of you were able to notice over the first act, and it's caught my attention HARD over the past few days, but the series was somewhat directionless. 
 
But how could that be? You said you had an outline! 
 
I did, and I still do. That outline formula, for all it's worth, does not lend itself to action stories like the one I wanted to create. It's mainly for character focused works, and because of the nature of this series, characters seemed to fight each other for attention. 
 
The best example of this are the later chapters with Hikari and Kou. It went from action, to calm, to action, to tense, and one character essentially had to be pushed aside for the other to receive characterization. 
 
Beyond that, I found that as I wrote, I began deviating from the established outline, which was beginning to form massive plotholes. 
 
That soooort of leads into my second gripe with the series, which is that it was beginning to suffer from an identity crisis. Some moments it was a strategic action series, others it was an intense drama, and others it was a horror mystery. Changing tone is fine, I feel, but where my biggest issue lies in its inability to decide whether it wanted to be character focused or plot focused. If I'm being brutally honest with myself here, I wanted to write a character-focused story, but found myself leaning toward a plot-focused one as I wrote. The outline seemed to be fighting with my wants, which began to affect the story negatively. At best, it was fast paced. At worst, it was unhinged and unfocused.  
 
Over the past week, I've been working to create an outline structure that works well for me as a writer. I haven't hidden that I love Shounen manga and anime in the slightest, and the greatest among them seem to be able to cross the thin line between plot-focused & character-oriented so perfectly. Because of that, I began to deconstruct what I'm dubbing the "Shounen Formula" into a story outline structure that works for me. 
 
Talking about it and studying it is somewhat meaningless, though. If I want to know how good it is, I need to put it to the test, right? 
 
I think so. That's why I'm happy to announce a new series that I've been working on...  
 
Demon Task Force! 
 
It's a Shounen-esque Progression Fantasy (exclusive to Royal Road) that I've been making with the sole purpose of stress-testing my new outline formula. My goal is to finish the first two arcs and upload them here. If you all enjoy the series, then I'll expand on it! I hope you all enjoy it when it comes out in a few weeks! I'll be uploading all of arc 1 on the first day, then I'll be dropping arc 2 over the span of a few weeks. 
 
But if you're using outlines again, won't you just run into the same problems? 
 
This go round, I'm not going to make the mistake of plotting every single thing out. That'd suck the fun out of writing. Instead, I'm using the "Shounen Formula" to create connected plot threads and plot points, which allows me to stay focused while also being freed from the restrictive and faulty outline I currently followed. 
 
Of course, the necessary worldbuilding will be fully plotted out, but that's different! 
 
It isn't just some one-off series, though. I'm serious about that entire series outline. Demon Task Force, or DTF for short, is a prequel to OAFRC, set many years before the story kicks off! As I mentioned those first two arcs WILL be released. If they don't do well, or you all dislike the new format, then I'll just regroup as I am and try again. I want to have a good quality product on here before I start going onto ******* and hiring editors to have it published. I got lost in the sauce before, I'll be honest! Sorry. I was just a little hype to get buzz so fast. 
 
Sooo... where does OAFRC fit in here? 
 
As I mentioned, DTF will be a prequel. As for the series in question, I'm going to be putting it on hold until I see the response DTF gets. If it does well, then I'll be reworking the outline for OAFRC to follow that mold, that way I can put it back into the wild with a reinforced structure. If it doesn't do well, then I'll just go back to the drawing board on both and do my best to seek counsel as I attempt to make a good series. 
 
In closing, I'm thankful for the support, but I want to make a series that isn't just "good for a webnovel" or "alright". I want to make something great, and to do that I need to go back and do some work on how I outline things. Demon Task Force should be uploaded either by the end of the month or the first week of February. I'll post about it when it's up!

Order & Fate: Rebellious Children is a series about a girl named Sumire Kato who is abruptly thrust into a world seething with murder, conspiracy, and drama. She must find strength within herself, rely on the friends she made, and uncover the mysteries of her home before doom reaches her and her loved ones!

 




Sumire Kato is an 18-year-old girl who has spent the last two years of her life alone in her apartment. She’s had little contact with other people and has no friends or family to communicate with. All of this changes when Sumire is invited to the Soteria School for Seekers, the prestigious school where Tenebris’s strongest study to become Seekers.  

  

As she makes the most of her new school experience, Sumire is continuously haunted by her demons, which threaten to damage the connections she’s made with the people at her new school. Eventually, she is forced to face her demons in a big way when one of her new friends is murdered by an unknown assailant.  

  

Sumire must overcome her past ghosts and find the killer with a clear mind and empty heart, lest her brother suffer the fatal consequences!

First, the chapter-length varies between 1000-3000 words depending on the events. Admittedly, the first batch of introductory chapters is a bit of a slow burn. I want to introduce you to the characters before getting to the craziness, so if you're interested in wall-to-wall action and fights each chapter, then this may not be the story for you.



Secondly, this story is heavily inspired by darker shounen manga and anime such as Hunter x Hunter and Jujutsu Kaisen, with the fights and magic system in particular taking inspiration from Jojo's Bizzare Adventure. If you like anime, then you'll probably like this story. If you prefer Tolkien-esque fantasy, though, then this story also may not be for you.

 

Thirdly, I have a decent stockpile of chapters stored, which I plan on expanding upon each day. Because of that, this series won't be dropped or put into indefinite hiatus, and chapters will be released daily unless otherwise stated. Finally, I've done multiple grammar and spell checks, so there shouldn't be any immersion-breaking grammatical issues. If you do find one, though, please leave a comment, and I'll revise! 

 

Finally, while this is my very first fiction, it's also a first draft of sorts. I plan to have this story professionally edited and published, so any feedback is very much appreciated!
