Balam looked over the various species that he could summon and he was both surprised and not. Common snakes already had many different types to them so adding into magical variants, and Balam was greeted by an incredibly large number.

He directly skipped over both the E and D rank species. Even though those would be the ones he would use the most during his early battles, there were simply too many.

Each rank had over 500 different species of snakes in each of them that could be used for battle.

Balam decided to look at the C ranks first since he had a free summon for one and planned to build his early army off of it.

The C ranks were numerous but not as numerous as the previous 2. C rank composed of nearly 100 different snake species that could be divided into 3 categories according to the menu.

The first was fighter snakes. These were snakes who had the most changes physically. They were basically normal snakes but stronger.

The second types were venomous snakes. These were the ones that had much deadlier venom than normal and could even shoot out venomous mists.

The last types were magical. These were creatures that exhibited elemental control or other unique magical effects. Most of these types had special venom related to their element, one elemental ability, and 1 support ability. Their main weakness against the others was their small sizes compared to other snakes.

Balam went straight to the third type. Even though they were usually the smallest, their other abilities made them worth it. He also saw that their cost was about 50 DP higher than snakes of the other two types.

'Hmm. We need something that can take out groups of weaker enemies or at least slow them down so the other snakes I get can take out the enemy creatures. Let's also hope that they are faster or have good lounging. Maybe even a stealth ability.'

After listing out his requirements, he searched through all of the C rank snake types until he found 4 that met his criteria of being worth his free summon.

Fire Dragon Snake (C rank): A snake that has the blood of a fire dragon within it. Although not a true dragon, it has gained a large increase in size as well as toughness of its scales. It has burning-blood venom and can cast the burning armor ability on itself.

Shadow Snake (C rank): A snake that was born from the shadows. It has stealth on a level that can hide from even B rank searching abilities and specializes in ambushes. The venom of the snake is a liquid nerve gas.

Flying Serpent (C rank): These snake type creatures are born with feathered wings and can fly through the air. They are the fastest snakes below B rank because of their flight. These snakes' venom has strong paralysis effects.

Sweet Dreamer (C rank): Instead of the normal venom, this creature releases miasma from its body that causes any non-snake type who inhales it to be in a dream-like state.  Very small and takes some time for the miasma to spread due to this.

'These 4 suit my tastes and needs the most. The fire dragon snake seems more like a controller and a tank. That would be useful for distracting enemies and ensuring their survival.

Shadow snake is best for taking down enemies on its own but I think it will lack when there is more than one enemy. Depending on the location for the wave attack, this may end up pretty bad.

Flying serpents seem like truly the best for me. They can kite enemies from a distance. In most games, lower-ranked and beginner enemies lack long-range attacks or at least powerful ones. This could get me through quite a few waves.

Sweet Dreamer is also great. By trapping enemies in illusions, it would allow me to use my other snakes the best. The only issue is the randomness of the instant dungeons for the wave assaults.

I have 500 DP as well. So I can afford to buy one more of these guys. So let's get a Flyer and a Sweet Dreamer. We can purchase a bunch of lower ranks for anything else that we need to be done.'

Balam decided to spend the token on the Flying Serpent and spent 150 DP for the Sweet Dreamer which brought his total DP down to 350. Soon a pair of snakes appeared out of nowhere in his dungeon.

One had sky blue scales on most of its body except for the belly which was white. It had a pair of white, feathery wings on the sides of its body. The snake was about a meter long. Its scales looked both hard and soft which gave Balam the urge to touch it. Sadly, he had no hands.

The other snake was almost half the size of the Sky Serpent. It had scales that were shades of purple and black all over its body. As if slithered across the ground, it let out a pink miasma that was slowly filling up the room but it would take hours or even days to truly fill the room.

'These two aren't too bad. Let's see what [Status Scan] can do.'

He focused the skill on each of the snakes before a small window appeared over each of them.

In EL, there was a system called the 'Main Weapon Bonus', so the type of weapon that was set as the main weapon could receive 15% increase in damage.
Second main weapons received 7%, third 5%, and finally, 4th and 5th main weapons, well, more like support weapons, received 2% increase.
There were no boosts at all from the 6th.
For this reason, many users set their main weapons until the fifth.
This weapon bonus may seem like nothing, but the difference was quite big according to order. The main weapon that filled the first place of that list had to be a weapon that the user used very frequently.
Users had to be very cautious in setting a main weapon. This was because an insane amount of karma was needed to switch out main weapons afterward. It was an unimaginable amount of karma at low levels, and a hefty sum even at high levels, so it wasn't a price that many were prepared to take.

Snake Caves harbored snakes of many different types and sizes, and people with ophidiophobia (fear of snakes) would hate this place to their guts.
Fortunately, Sanghyuk had no particular rejection towards snakes, so he didn't fear to tread inside the Snake Caves.

When Sanghyuk swung his Ten Millennia Goldbone Whip, the 10 snakes in front of him were sliced to pieces as though they just went through a shredder. According to the angle of the swing, the Ten Millennia Goldbone Whip could slash the opponent as though it was a sword, so shredding snakes was easy.

Snake-men were a race that would frequently appear later in the game as well. The Snake Caves he just entered would harbor just snake-man soldiers, snake-man archers, and snake-man warriors, but once the 'Snake Tower', which could be called the kingdom of snake-men, appeared later in the game, users would meet many different types of snake-men.
The hundreds of snakes at the entrance were merely pets(?) of the snake-men.
Sanghyuk shredded the onslaught of snakes with his whip while waiting for the snake-men to come out. A Floating Lumistone which he had bought in a miscellaneous store before he came to the Snake Caves, was floating next to him, so his surroundings were very bright.
Floating Limestones, once set, just floated around the user and emitted light. It was naturally a must-have item in dark caves like this place.
Sanghyuk kept proceeding forward. The Snake Caves were very maze-like, and he may wander around on the same spot if he was lost, but Sanghyuk proceeded forward as though he had the map of the Snake Caves in his head.
Of course, nothing like that existed in Sanghyuk's mind. Even though Sanghyuk had returned to the past, remembering every single event was impossible. Instead, Sanghyuk had his numerous experiences. The general pattern unique to such types of dungeons... Sanghyuk knew that pattern well enough so that he could find his way without getting lost in this maze-like caves.
After some time passed, Sanghyuk finally met a snake-man. The snake-man soldier was several heads taller than Sanghyuk. It charged towards Sanghyuk with a single crude spear.
*Hiss, hiss!*
When the excited snake-man pierced with its spear, Sanghyuk lightly swung his whip and wrapped it around the spear.
*Whistle, clang*
The Ten Millennia Goldbone Whip spun the spear into a spiral, and as a result, the snake-man's spear flew into the air.
Although this may be a surprising result for the snake-man, it was an obvious outcome for Sanghyuk.
At the same time he flicked away the spear, Sanghyuk made the whip stand in a straight line and extended his arm forward as though he was stabbing with a sword.
*Stab, crrrunch!*
At that moment, the Ten Millennia Goldbone, which stood stiffly like a sword, pierced the snake-man's head.
'Good!'
Sanghyuk nodded his head when the Ten Millennia Goldbone Whip moved perfectly according to how he wished for it to.
The Ten Millennia Goldbone Whip... this weapon indeed had tremendous potential.

looking down with his small slit eyes, Zayne saw his  black tail and pondered for a while before thinking," am i a black-tailed-rat snake? no, this colour has a darker shade of black. " turning his small head left, he could barely spot a black hood." 

" This.. perplexed Zayne mumbled, am i a cobra... or a king cobra? But that doesnt make sense...Dont tell me im an undiscovered species!! Joy emerged on Zayne's face again. "

 AS he was reveling on his 'discovery' a powerful hunger surged him " This hunger aah- grunted Zayne,  food.....I need food! mused Zayne in his mind as bits of saliva feel of his little black snake tongue. " i need to look for eatables and quick! thought Zayne as he slithered deep into the lush forest.

Climbing on a relatively near by tree, Zayne discovered his first food, it was a bird nest with 4 small grey coloured eggs, with pain and hunger taking over his logic Zayne leaped on those eggs and easily swallowed one, soon, swallowing all the four eggs. Altough swallowing eggs wasn't what human were used to, Zayne didn't feel anything weird about this process and in-fact it  felt natural.. 

After eating this meal, Zayne felt his hunger ease quite a bit," i should move from this place fast before the parents come back, but before he could move out, Zayne felt some weird feeling through him. "huuh? what was that feeling?" Zayne felt more refreshed after that feeling calmed down.
"That was weird,were those eggs special?and how am i able to digest 4 eggs instantly!? Zayne decided to inspect this body of his more throughly when he settled into a safe place," I should hurry up before the parents of those eggs  come back."

Slithering down the tree, Zayne searched for a place to settle and investigate this place.

Moving far away from the place he ate his fill, Zayne discovered  a small opening under a large tree, going inside the gap he saw a white rabbit With a horn protruding from the center of his brows. 

"Bloody F***  these creatures exists?!"Seeing the rabbit, Zayne wasn't sure if he was on earth anymore

"Should i attack it? hmmm, it looks quite dangerous but i also need to confirm something and im not sure that will find any weaker creatures than rabbit types."

Detecting an intruder, the rabbit creature jumped up and observed its intruder with his small green eyes.

Noticing that the rabbit creature discovered him, and its alert eyes, Zayne decided to attack it. Slithering towards the snake with a rapid movement, Zayne lunged at it and went for the kill.

Seeing it foe speeding towards him, the rabbit creature side dashed with a surprisingly fast speed and rammed its horn on forwards.

Surprised by its speed, Zayne ducked down and opened his mouth wide open,showing his sharp canes,Zayne bit onwards before the rabbit creature could escape.

*Screeeeeh!!*

Having bitten the rabbit creature, Zayne injected poison with a thought and quickly wrapped his body around the rabbit creature. But he quickly realised that it was unnecessary as the rabbit creature stopped struggling immediately after he injected his poison .

looking at the rabbit creature to be sure, Zayne noticed although the rabbit creature stopped struggling it was still alive! "Hehe, my poison is sure effective."

"looks like i have poison that makes my prey unable to move and a strong one for certain , i will examine my body throughly later but now, i will try to prob something.

Zayne opened his mouth wide open and managed to swallow the rabbit creature albeit with difficulties.

Having finally swallowed the rabbit creature, Zayne started counting. " 1,2,3,4,5.." when it hit 5 seconds, Zayne felt the same energy that he felt when he ate those 4 eggs  going through his body but much stronger than before 

" its that energy again! does it only appear when i eat my prey? And it seems that the stronger my prey is the bigger the energy i receive is."

Suddenly without any warnings, a strong drowsiness hit him! "Ahhh~ why do i feel the need to sleep!? just a moment ago i was full of energy!."

As Zayne was stunned with the unexpected twist, he felt that he was losing conscience and made the decision to go deeper in the hole."

Slithering his way deeper, Zayne arrived at the end of the hole quickly and positioned himself so that his head was covered by his body. Not able to stay awake any longer, Zayne quickly slumped into sleep.

food delivers itself straight to my stomach           (Conquer!)

This is an original novel about an interesting little snake....(Well not completely a snake) who woke up in a forest full of dangerous beasts.
