Anna wiped the tears off her face as she pulled in at the lake. Lake lure was just far enough from Asheville that no one would look for her there. She tucked the keys in her pocket and walked down the dock. The sun was setting and twilight had not yet fallen on the lake yet. Anna took off her shoes and put her feet in the water breathing deeply. The tranquility had always been an escape for her and she needed it now more than ever. They’d rented a trailer about a mile from the lake every summer before her mom died. They’d never had the money for a real vacation. 
“Maybe I can just get in the lake and keep swimming,” Anna muttered as she wrapped her arm around herself as the tears continued to make tracks on her face. “At least then I wouldn’t have to feel this.” 
She’d seen the misery out of control rage and jealousy caused.  She’d seen it on the face of her mother for years. “I guess I thought I knew what to avoid. How did I end up in the same situation?” She thought to herself as she watched the sun sink over the lake. 
“I never thought I would end up just like my mother. I thought John wasn’t like that but it seems like I’ve fallen into the same trap.”
Anna rubbed her arms as the fading sun left the lake caught in shadows. She looked down at her reflection in the lake and saw the shadows lurking in her own eyes. As a child she’d run from any kind of commitment thanks to her parents screwed up relationship, she’d only trusted John when he’d earned it. 
“Is it possible I married someone just like my father?”
“I hope not.”  A voice said from the shadows claiming the lake.
Anna turned and saw John standing on the edge of the lake by the dock. She wanted to jump up and run but he was blocking the exit. She sighed and turned back to the water hoping he would go away. John did not take the hint.
“Go away, I really need you to stay away from me right now.” 
“I can’t,” He said softly as he walked slowly down the dock. “If I do I might lose you and I can’t do that.” 
“I’m not kidding get away from me if you push me  I might practice my boxing on your face.”
“I understand and I’m willing to take the chance.”
“How did you find me?”
“I actually guessed you’d be here. “ He said as he sat down beside her. 
“I thought no one would know where I was,”  Anna said as her body tensed and she scooted away. 
“I knew you would come here.”
“How?”
“You used to rent a trailer here one week a summer remember.” 
“I’m surprised you remember.”
“I told you I remember everything about you.”
Anna pinned him with a glare and blew the curly red hair out of her eyes. “Obviously you don’t remember why we rented it.”
“No, I guess I don’t.” 
“To get away from my dad.” 
“What are you talking about?”
“John my father was abusive and his jealousy was out of control.” 
Joh looked at her in shock. He’d known of course that Anna was illegitimate and looked down on by much of the town because of it but he’d thought the relationship between her parents Leah and Ray was a good one. Anna’s expression told a much more awful tale. 
“That’s not possible,” John said quietly as he stared into her eyes “That was the scandal, your mom was having an affair with a married man. They were supposedly so in love.”
“They were John,” Anna yelled out jumping up and walking to the end of the dock, “but it was far from perfect, my mother was beautiful and my father was jealous.”
“Your mother was beautiful,” John agreed to remember the woman with the ready smile and her daughter's blue eyes. “But she never even looked at anyone else, she loved your father.”
“She did, but he was always so worried that she would get tired of being a mistress and leave him. Every time a man so much as looked at her or was nice to her he flew into a rage. He accused her of horrible things and he hit her John.”
“No” he whispered softly as he stood and faced her “ I never saw a bruise on her. No one in town ever saw anything, I would have heard, you know how my mother loves to gossip.”
“She loves it and loves to start it.” Anna agreed not looking at him. “She was the reason everyone knew in the first place, did you know that?”
“I didn’t.” He said quietly ashamed of his mother once again. It seemed to be a pattern forming.
“Oh yeah!” she laughed bitterly, “she told his wife and everyone else who would listen that he had himself a side piece and a bastard.”
“Anna, I’m...”
“I need you to shut up right now John. I don’t know what I’ll do if you interrupt me again.”
John looked at her and went silent again waiting for her to continue.
“He beat her and he beat me, at least if we were here we got one week of peace a summer.” 
“That’s not possible, I would have known.”
“So now I’m a cheater and a liar right?” 
“No, Anna…”
“Listen to me John, he left the bruises where no one saw them, he was very careful. But my mother was convinced that he loved her and me so much, she trusted him and he hurt us both. He was the reason she died.”
“Anna what are you saying? He didn’t’ kill your mother.”
“He did!” she screamed her voice echoing across the lake as her fists clenched. Her insides felt raw and a rage darker than any she’d felt before swum inside her.
“Anna your mother died in a car crash.” 
“A car crash he caused!” 
“I don’t understand,” John said softly trying to move closer to her. 
“Don’t give me those sad looks like I’m crazy and you pity me! They had a fight and she took off and got into an accident.”
“That doesn’t mean he caused her death, it was an accident.”
“But there’s a difference,” She said as she stepped back again not letting him get close “He refused to pay for the surgery that would have saved her. John, he let her die.”

"Did someone mention me?" came a voice behind me and I didn't have to turn to see who it was. "What are you all doing?" he walked into the room, stopping right beside me.
"Movie Marathon! We haven't done it for weeks! I was just going to ask Diana if she would like to join us." She smiled cheekily, her eyes glinting with hope. 
"Umm… I er-" I hesitated.
"She'd love to, won't you Diana?" Samuel ignored the denial which was clearly visible on my face. Before I could answer his question, he had his arm around my waist and I was practically being dragged to the couch. 
"Yes… I would love to." I managed to form a forced smile. 
"Great!" Samuel said and though there was enough space to accommodate four more of my size, he squeezed himself in the little space between Penelope and Nicholas. She looked pretty displeased but Nicholas honestly looked relieved. "What are we watching?"
"Nothing horror, please. The last time I watched a horror film I couldn't sleep properly for 2 weeks. Diana, why are you standing? Have a seat." Penelope said with a smile which was a lot less fake this time. Maybe we could really be friends after all. 
I had two options; to sit beside either Penelope or beside Nicholas. The decision wasn't a difficult one. I went for the first option. In the whole while Nicholas had not even acknowledged my presence. He kept staring at his phone, scrolling down his Instagram feed. 
"Diana, any suggestions?" Samuel asked. His eyes were pleading, probably not wanting to see another movie of Penelope's choice. 
A few good movies came to my mind but suddenly my eyes shifted to Nicholas who was now watching a video of an artist creating a canvas painting. A smirk crept up my face, "How about Twilight?" 
Samuel eyes widened and Nicholas almost dropped his phone. His eyes darted slowly to me, his teeth gritted in anger and I felt my smirk grow even wider. "It's a boring movie, Penny. You won't like it." He scowled.
"I've seen the trailer of that movie… it's pretty good. All my friends have watched it and they have amazing things to say about it. It's a love story, right?" she asked and I nodded. "Wow, we're so watching it!" she squealed with excitement making Samuel chuckle. 
"I've seen it before but I can watch it a hundred times. Just for Diana." Samuel spoke with a tone that pulled something in my chest. I ignored his burning gaze on me and focused on the TV screen in front.

Itu semua ditungakan di benaknya tanpa ampun seolah itu hanya menunjukan semua hal yang paling mengerikan yang penah dia lakukan, menggali isi perunya dengan perasaan menjijijkan.

Aku merasakan pikiran-ku berputar seperti sebelumnya. Namun, kali ini tidak kekerasan tapi secara perlahan, memberikan sedikit waktu untuk mencernanya sebelum itu menggoreng pikiranku.

Aku tidak punya tubuh atau apapun yang mungkin mendefinisikan diriku sekarang. Itu hanya menyebar ke ruang, seolah - olah ruang itu sendiri adalah.... aku dan isi-nya sangat jelas di kepala-ku.
Itu hanya memiliki satu benda. Sebuah kubus mistrius, melayang di pusat ruangan.... [Althara]. Benda yang membuatku terlahir kembali di dunia ini sebagai ular iblis!
Aku tahu itu tidak sengaja, aku tahu itu sebenarnya menyelamatkanku, aku tahu itu memberikan aku kesempatan. Namun....

Aku benar - benar ingin segelas bir dan rokok. Terkali aku mencicipi bir dan rokok adalah saat aku dan Thom pergi ke Black Harbour. Itu terasa seperti sudah sangat sangat... lama.

Seolah senang dengan keputusanku. Kubus bersinar lebih terang terhubung dengan cara yang lebih kuat dari pada sebelumnya. Bukan reaksi yang aku inginkan, tapi aku memutuskan untuk tidak memikirkan tantang kubus itu sekarang. Karena suara itu muncul lagi, sekarang di sertai dengan hal lain.

Vanessa: "Don't worry about it. Sure I miss him, but he's watching over me now. Ah~ Uncle Tony."

Vanessa: "Did I get this gig because Uncle Tony is my godfather?"


Tony: "Yes and no. I approved it because of your looks then remembered who you are. We'll your gonna be a hot babe like you mom when you grow up. Too bad she's completely loyal to your dad."


Vanessa: "Thanks I guess? Well time for the shoot uncle Tony. Race ya to the car!"


Pepper: "Ohhhh~ that's too cute. I should have recorded that on the phone!"


Tony: "Yup, that kid can steal anyone's heart. I think this commercial will be a hit."


The commercial was a hit. Stark Industry's stock rose up steadily and the commercial was the most watch commercial in the world.


Vanessa now had a lot of stalkers and fans. The SHIELD agents in the apartment complex had their hands full with people trying to break in or getting a picture of her. The movie deals came also.


Vanessa: "Oh man, if I take this. I won't have any time to train. The Avengers will happen in 6 years. I'm only in the beginning stages. What should I do.... maybe I can get a separate trailer for meditation and ask for weight and gym equipments. And the studio can be a good practice for my parkour skills. Maybe I can do this. I'll also upgrade my musical talent and get a voice coach. Since I'm in the entertainment business now."


Vanessa: "I got cast in Harry Potter as (Hermione) so sorry Emma Watson. I don't even have an english accent dammit."


So her mom took a month of her work and flew to England with me. She did the movie, voice lessons and parkour like she originally planned. After a month of shooting, her mom went back home and go back to work. The person watching her now is het handler from the modelling agency. 


After finishing the movie, she then did voice editing then did advertising by showing up in a lot of tv shows promoting the movie. Her fan base exploded that day. Movie offers keep coming. The next movie she will star is in the Twilight movie Breaking dawn as Bella's daughter.


She will be busy for a while. especially Harry Potter will go for 4 to 5 more movies. She was only 10 but is the most famous 10 yr old in the world. 



The following year, her mom retired fro. her job to focus managing her daughter's career. Lily even got offer to model and star on the movie because she looked just like her daughter. 


So now, they both got hit by the entertainment bug. But Vanessa still maintain her other job as assistant coach to John.

A few months later, her movies were a hit and she was also filming the next part of the movie. She also got confessed by every boy cast in the movie including the people who played Ron and Harry. She politely let them down easy so there is no hard feelings."

I'm freaking a 10 yr old kid goddammit. Freaking loli perverts. Pffft pffft! Uuurgh! I have to throw up that saliva dog shit out of me. Ueghh!"


That day, she had nightmares.


Her pictures where everywhere. Billboards, commercials and magazines.


She even did a Pepsi commercial which piss off coke that they didn't get her first.


Each passing day, she saw her breast developing. By the time she hits 11 years old. Her size was an A.


She also adjusted her fighting style since there are now moves that are sensitively affecting her. She also circulate her chi better and faster each day. She also is efficient with her katana sword style, and shuriken throwing.


She is now a bonafide ninja. Eat that Naruto...


She can even dunk a basket ball, jumping from the free throw line. They reserved her name for the 2016 olympics since she will only be 12 in 2012 olympics. 


At 11 yrs old, she got her first period.

Vanessa: "I hate you puberty!"

Her mom Lily started teaching her how to clean herself or she will smell like pee every month. The bleeding part was gross on her. She had to carry a bag to put her cleaning stuff and tampons and an extra pair of panties.


Vanessa: "What a dragggg..."


Then came the mood swings. You think she swears a lot right now. Wait till you see her swear like a sailor in the Navy. Every word was a bad word. She tries so hard to watch what she say outside her home since she is a public figure now.


Of course, if she have fans. She got anti-fans. There were cyber bullies too, but she hacked their accounts and bankrupt them. Her AI is named JESSICA, which was a little better than JARVIS. She was afraid that Ultron might hack her. So she put more security features and back up memory in case she has to deep six her affected program. She put backup after back up.


At that time Danny Rand was found alive and was fixing his company. The stocks started to increase steadily. Also a new vigilante started appearing along with daredevil. He is called Iron Fist. The Doom Enterprises also took a dive following Victor Von Doom's Space Station accident. The rise of the Fantastic 4 has come.

I have a life you know. Since O only get bad reviews, I'm even thinking of stopping all together. until the star tate go at least 3.0 i will not go on the story. I have a lot of ideas on how to continue the story. So toughfy.

'I might be buying too much.'
The truck was loaded with stuff and there was even an additional trailer for hauling more stuff. It was as if he were moving out.
"I think I'm addicted to shopping."
The psychology of the human mind was indeed a weird thing. Joonbum was never a big spender when he was poor, but here he was, buying whatever he wanted to buy if he wanted it. He started buying more after he built the fortress to fill it with supplies. There was now a storage place dedicated to working tools.
Some of his purchases consisted of axes, jungle swords, small to large hammers, a sickle, pickaxes, grass cutters, and so forth. Some tools were stocked with twenty different sizes. Joonbum felt a sense of satisfaction at the sight of his collection. It was as if he was collecting some collectibles.
That was just the beginning. He started purchasing all kinds of food items that could be preserved for long periods of time such as canned foods, instant noodles, rice, and flour. The storage that was connected to the kitchen was filled with all kinds of pickled dishes. He also buried a huge jar and filled it with soy sauce, bean paste, and red chili paste. There was also a bag full of salt on the side.
He was spending lavishly. It wasn't possible to do something like that before, but it was much more manageable now.
'But I bought too much.'
He knew this and held off on buying, but he was already walking out with it without even realizing it. The truck was always full of stuff he bought without him fully making sense of it. It was so much that he needed an additional trailer to carry everything.
'What in the world have I done?'
It was already dawn. The sky turned from red to yellow and brightened as the sun rose. The stuff he bought was already safely stored away. Joonbum moved his truck to the parking area and stepped out, drinking hot coffee.
"Let's stay at home today."
Joonbum took out a list of things to buy for the next time he came here.
"Hmm. I should go to a window-making shop for the window, stop by the closing restaurant, sign the new contract… too busy. Huh? Oh! Hey, Baekgu! Heukgu! Gumdong! Urlook! Come!"
Joonbum was stopped by his alarm and shouted at the cubs to haul them into the truck.


He went straight to pick up his window frames as soon as he arrived back to Earth.
"Oh, you're finally here! Come on in."
The owner, Kyungsoo Park, greeted Joonbum as he got out of the truck.
"Good morning. I'm sorry I came so early in the morning."
"No problem at all. The product you ordered is ready. The quality is top notch. Please call me anytime if you have problems."
Kyungsoo pointed to a corner as he smiled. There were window frames in various sizes, just like how Joonbum ordered them.
"So, you must be building a house?" Kyungsoo asked as Joonbum was looking at the frames.
"Yeah, I am. Some rural place out in the country."
"Is that so? Do you need any hands to install it? I can get two to work for you if you need," Kyungsoo quickly asked.
'He did mention that there are no work opportunities these days.'
"Thank you for the offer, but I am planning to do it on my own slowly."
"Oh, I see..."
Joonbum avoided eye contact as he heard the answer that was filled with disappointment. There were a lot of people that were out of jobs. It didn't feel good to see those older men looking at him for some sort of opportunity.
'Who am I to pity?'
"Can you help me load these?"
"Sure. Hey Jongsoo, Yonghee, load these on the truck outside."
Two young men quickly moved to load the frames onto the truck. Joonbum finished paying for his purchase, got a cup of coffee from the owner, and left for his second destination.
After about an hour of driving, he was at the restaurant. The business was closing down so Joonbum managed to purchase a lot of various dishes at an affordable price. He then grabbed a quick lunch and drove to a café to sign a new contract.
After signing various new contracts and receiving sponsored goods, the day was already over. He remembered being excited at his first contract but now it was becoming dull. He also became more comfortable talking with older men. 
After he signed five additional contracts, he now earned over 170 million won. There was a total of eight contracted companies, averaging twenty million won per contract.
'I never imagined it was this easy to earn money.'
He would've been overjoyed at this, but he was not as excited. A sudden alarm sound broke out and Joonbum took out his phone. It was already dinner time.
'I should go now.'
It was twilight when Joonbum arrived at a barbeque restaurant called Jangwon. He opened the truck's window and eyed the restaurant before letting out a small sigh.
His mother was moving about the restaurant busily as the restaurant was packed with customers. Customers all around were asking her to come over to request something and she was moving back and forth continuously. It was heartbreaking.
'Those bastards…'
Joonbum thought as customers of his age constantly ordered things from his mother. He knew there wasn't anything wrong with that but he couldn't bear to watch. He took out a cigarette and started puffing on it. 
Joonbum got off the truck and walked into the store when the clock struck ten. There were only a few tables left.
"Welc- Joonbum!"
"Mom!"
"What happened? Why are you here?" his mother asked curiously as she knew Joonbum hated coming to her workplace.
"I came because I missed you. Let's go home together."
"Oh, Joonbum. Long time no see."
"Oh, hello."
"Hey, your son is here! Did you eat yet? Come here, have some beef soup."
"Yes, go ahead and eat first. I'll go and change clothes."
The owner greeted Joonbum, pulled him in to take a seat, and smiled at him. 
"So I heard you've been doing well lately? I'm a fan of yours too. Your videos are so popular now. I think you have over seven million subscribers now?"
"Oh, yes. I did somehow."
"What do you mean, somehow. It's your effort that did it. Your mother was so proud of you, you know?"
"Thank you."
"Here, it's all yours."
She brought out a large bowl of soup filled with beef. 
'Wow. It has more meat than usual.'
The bowl was full of meat. It was mouthwatering.
"Go ahead, eat it before it gets cold."
"Thank you."
The strong taste of meat filled his mouth as he chewed on it. His spoon started moving quickly, emptying all of the meat. He then poured rice into his bowl that was full of broth. Joonbum chewed a mouthful of rice and radish kimchi together.
"Wow, that boy eats well. Can I get one bowl too?"
"I want a bowl also!"
Other customers who were drinking ordered the bowl as they saw Joonbum eating his food. 
"You eat so well."
'She's up to something,' Joonbum thought to himself as the owner kept complimenting him. She wasn't like this before.
'Maybe she wants me to advertise the restaurant.'
She was way too nice now. The only thing changed between them was that Joonbum was now famous.
"Um, if you don't mind."
"Yes?"
The owner spoke up as if she had made up her mind.
"I mean, if you really don't mind, can you advertise our restaurant?"
'I knew it. This was it.'
His video was gaining worldwide popularity. There were more and more viewers and mail coming from all around the world. Also, by having twelve screens, it allowed him to divide each of his sponsored products to be featured constantly over all the screens so companies were competing with each other to be featured. The effect of being featured also showed high increases in their sales. Joonbum was told that some had their sales increased by thirty percent. Those companies increased their contract amounts on their term agreements.
"Of course, I can do that."
"C-can you do it?"
The owner, Jungmi Lee, brightened up at the sound of his approval.
"Yes, I can. Just with one condition…"
"Condition?"
"Can you let my mother take a vacation for a week?"
"What?"
Jungmi answered the unexpected request. It seemed like she was not happy about the request as she raised her eyebrow.
"I get at least five million won per day for advertisement contracts nowadays. I heard some of them increased their sales over twenty percent too," Joonbum continued, pretending to not notice her unhappiness. Jungmi's hesitation disappeared instantly.
"I'll show your store address on camera for a full day and eat your food once. You don't like it?"
"No, not at all. It's great. Yeah, your mother needs a break. She can have a month off if she wants it."
"What? What's going on?"
Joonbum's mother came out and Jungmi started to explain to her in detail. His mother looked troubled at the offer.
"But the store's too busy for me to take a month off…"
"Hey, it's okay! Your son wants you to take some rest. I can hire part-timers while you're gone. Go ahead, get some rest."
Jungmi was very hospitable. 
'Hah, she's fast at counting,' Joonbum thought, thinking he might do the same if he were in the same position.
'There are more people looking for the job than the actual job itself.'
Joonbum asked for ten servings of uncooked beef rib meat and beef stew.
"What's going on?" his mother asked him, puzzled from what just happened as they drove off. The truck was full of the requested food.
"You need to go somewhere with me tomorrow."
"Tomorrow?"
"Yeah."
"Where?"
"My workplace."
"Workplace?"
"I'll show you around."
"But a month…"
"It's okay. She can find another person. I'm the one at a loss."
"I-is that so?"
"Yeah. Just think of it as a vacation. It's on me."
His mother smiled at his assurance. She seemed to be really happy.

Jang Joonbum started stream to enjoy an easy life.
That is what he believed it would be like at least.
He fell asleep in the outback woods after eating like a wild man as a new form of content but wakes up in a completely new world.
A world that was the embodiment of the wilderness itself.

My eyes flew open with a raging headache, like a hundred kickboxers working out at the walls of my brain. Pounding, jumping, flipping, again and again. I rose against the headboard and leaned my head on it. A scorching drought was in my throat, like out of the black Sahara desert decided to make it its abode. I closed my eyes and swallowed hard, attempting to drench it somewhat with what little saliva I had.
Why can't I get a single night to myself? Why does it always have to be about that sadist? Why the one incident of my life, that I so desperately want to forget, keeps starring in my every night? Like a goddamn leech. Why? Why does HE have to leave me, when he did?
Sleep never came easy to me after that one incident----or better yet, a series of them----and the only times my eyelids closed, without a whole another world of demons and egregious flashbacks behind them, was when HE was there with me. Holding my hand in that small ramshackle bunk of my trailer, whispering in my ears that he has got me until the day he dies, and I used to sleep like a baby. Cause I believed him. I hung to him and his every word like a child waiting for a shooting star, not taking his eyes off even for a second. I hung to his every song that he used to make for me, with his broken guitar
But he lied. Everyone lies. Even his melodies lied. And now I'm alone, breaking my neck to at least get through a day at a time.
The only thing I believe I am doing right, right now is, I'm not waiting for him. Not anymore. I did that back then. For a whole year. When he first left in that trap hole to fend for myself. Guess, he finally figured out I was too much of a work for him. Waiting for him, didn't serve me any good. So, now I'm not.
I glanced at my night clock and the neon lights were showing that it was close to four in the morning. Sleep was a far cry now, it never did after one of these episodes. So, I left my bed and grabbed my running gear from the hamper kept at the bedside. I love the morning breeze and running down the muddy trails while soft rays of twilight kiss the clouds, is nothing sort of heavenly and rejuvenating.
I changed in my sports bra and tight leggings brushed my teeth and left my dorm room locking the door behind me. As soon as my earbuds and iPod were fixed in place and Imagine Dragons were blaring from in my ears, I hit the trail north to my dorm that led to my favorite place. I passed the desolated suburbs, with a few stray dogs barking here and there, and turned left to the muddy trail, with cherry and tupelo trees on both sides.
It is close to autumn, and flamboyant leaves have started sprouting from them. I filled my lungs with the smell of petrichor hanging in the air as the sky started to turn pink. This trail is on the fringe of Bay Shore, and except for some occasional runners, which is very rare, I have never seen someone here. Which makes it all the better for me.
I crossed the cherries and stopped where the trail goes to the left and right side is barred from red chokeberry bushes. Finally. I know what is hiding behind these mild crimson bushes. They are the reason I always come here. First time I had accidentally tumbled here and from then onwards, it has become my own place of solace.
I cautiously parted the bushes and made my way between them. After a few steps, I was where I wanted to be. Breathe lake---as I like to call it----was staring back at me in its full glory. The pinkish hue of the sky reflecting in it, making it a kaleidoscopic tint of ocean blue and pink. Extended in a large oval-shaped area it is surrounded by tupelos on its side. Draught here crisper, hitting on my sweat, instigating goosebumps to break down my damp skin.
I removed the earbuds and then proceeded toward the small wooden pier on the side, barely hanging above the water. Don't know who made it here, but whoever did, I owe him a big deal. I walked three steps and then stop short when I found a man, with his back to me, sitting in my place. What in the effing hell? This is my place. My. And I wanted to scream on the top of my lungs to him 'This place is mine. So you can get the fuck out of here'.
Crunching of leaves under my shoes must have made a sound or the anger emanating from me in waves must have hit him hard because whoever-it-was turned his head to look at me and when his face came into view, all the air left my lungs in a whoosh. I froze. Am I hallucinating? I blinked and he was still there.
Drake Meyer gave me a toothy grin, as he raked his eyes up and down me, that I barely registered. I kept my face inscrutable, still reeling. He stood up and old wood creaked under his weight, then in three long strides, he crossed the distance between us, still grinning from ear to ear.
"Am I supposed to consider this as a coincidence? Or are you stalking me?"
His words made heat rise to my cheeks. And I went from Norway to Death Valley of California in an instant. "What?! NO!", I shrieked shaking my head, even though I didn't mean to.
He let out a deep belly laugh as his blue eyes shined from the first ray of sunlight. Sweat broke out at the nape of my neck and I swished my ponytail to the side.
"Relax, I was just messing with you", he said giving me a genuine smile. I exhaled and a small chuckle slipped out from me, at my own reaction. I looked away towards the lake. "So, how come you know about this place?"
I looked at him and tilted my head to the side slightly. He was wearing a tank top and running shorts. My eyes caught a tattoo, a vicious dragon with one wing open, spanning from his collarbone to the start of his left arm. I looked at it for a moment longer than I should have. It was scary, in the real words. Why would someone contemplate keeping something like that on their body permanently?
I jerked my eyes back to his, and he raised an eyebrow in question. I focused on what he had said and then replied, "Well, I would like to know the same." I leveled my eyes at him.
He seemed to be at a loss of words for a while. "I lost my way once while running and came here. Since then, I've come here every chance I get. This place is kind of soothing. So, I come here whenever things hit me hard and I need a moment of peace", he said and stared off in the distance.
I mimicked him and looked at the serenity in front of me. It is indeed a soothing place. A strange quietude, that won't let you feel alone and give a tranquil bliss at the same time. Drake turned to me and said, "Your turn now."
"Kind of like your story. Just, I come here everyday cause I like it. For obvious reasons, of course", I said and shrugged.
"Yeah, I can agree", he looked back at the pier and then said pointing to it, "Wanna sit?"
I hesitated for a second. Should I? I looked at him, he had a hopeful look on his face, as if begging me from his face to stay. I remembered his words from earlier, he had said he comes here only when stuff becomes too much for him. Maybe he needs company. I sighed and then nodded.
He gestured for me to walk first. I did and sat on the edge dangling my legs off the pier. Drake followed the suit and sat next to me. Tip of my shoes were barely a few inches from the water, and I had a strong urge to remove them and dip my bare legs in the cool liquid.
"Tell me something about you Grace", Drake said all of a sudden. I turned to see that he was very closely observing me like he was trying to solve a puzzle piece. I felt the weight of his gaze piercing me and almost squirmed in my place.
"Uh. I am from around. My parents live ten miles from Bay Shore", I said leaving out the part that they live in a trailer. Not because I am ashamed of them, because I don't want to divulge much to him. "My mom teaches in a kindergarten there. She has just only started a few years back, when my dad got sick, not actually sick, he broke his leg and wasn't able to work afterward. I was thirteen then."
Drake listened intently as if he was making notes for his major subject. "So why did you decided to come to Bay Shore University?"
I shocked myself when I grinned at him playfully and replied, "I think, that much should have been obvious." He chuckled at himself when he caught my underlying meaning.
"Yeah, scholarship. I forgot", he said and looked at me with a grin.
"Why did you decide to come here?", I asked.
He gazed at the lake and answered, "I like the place. And always wanted to come here. Got somewhat scholarship. Everything fell in place so, I moved here."
I gave him an incredulous look, even though he wasn't looking at me. It's not like Bay Shore is not beautiful, it is but it's also not any metropolitan that someone would dream about coming here. People move here in strained situations, not by their own will. He released a sigh, akin to surrender when he looked at my expression.
"I swear you're like a lie-detector", he grunted and I almost smiled at his words. "Okay, I moved here because of my little sister. She is fourteen and my half-sister. I didn't know about her up until four months ago. My dad had an affair, and gave her up to the foster care when she was born", he let out a humorless laugh, "He wouldn't have ever told anyone about his mess, as he likes to call it if I hadn't found her birth certificate with his name in his safe."
He looked away, "I'm here for her. I took her out of foster care and live with her so she can get at least some years with her real family."

He said believe me.
I did.
Never knew where it will lead me.
Grace Coroners is trying to move on, start over and acquire everything she wasn't able to months before. She is completely determined to not let anything come in her way, keep the past in past. 
But when Drake Meyer enters her little bubble, she is completely thrown off her equilibrium. Speculating her every decision, where she went wrong and how did she fell in the mess, she is currently in.

So today has been spent worrying about my 'little' problem which will turn into immense pain when it finally decides to show its ugly face. Ah, I'm so not ready to do this again. The days are going so fast. there is this unsettling feeling at the pit of my stomach and I cant seem to shake it off. Something is about to happen and I can feel it, I just don't know what it is but its there. 

'Stormi!' Leon said holding my hand pulling me out of my stupor, 'are you okay little sis?' concern swimming within his orbs. I looked up at him and slightly nodded my head.

'are you sure?' he asked again. 'is this about going back to school?' and at this point all eyes were on the two of us. Everyone was waiting for an answer and I wasn't sure what to say. I do want to go to school but after what I saw two weeks ago, I don't think I'm quite ready to face Nico and the others but yet again I cant have anyone believe or even think I remember any of the events that took place that day.

'yes, I'm fine don't worry bro,' I said as I came to a stand and placed a nice, firm smack on his head. 'Don't go all soft on me now, that don't look good on you,' I said playfully punching his shoulder.

'Hey!' Leon shouted. 'that actually hurt, you twat'.

Mom got up in a flash and landed one nerve wrecking slap upon Leons head 'What did I say about that mouth of yours boy, hmm?'

she grabbed his ear between the  pads of her thumb and index finger. 'apologize to your sister right away,' she demanded. 

'ow, ow, mom that actually hurts you know, Its not funny mom, let goooo,' he whined. ' It hurts so bad.'

'not until I hear an apology coming out your mouth nino, now!' mom insisted.

Now this is what I call entertainment, I mean what more could a younger sibling want other than witnessing their older sibling being reprimanded in front of them.

A giggle threatened to escape so I quickly palmed my mouth before I ended up on moms receiving end. 

'sorry' Leon mattered under his breath, eyes down clearly unimpressed.

'hmmm? what did you say there dear brother? I didn't quite hear,' I teased.

'true, mind saying it a bit louder there Lee? Khloe asked spotting a rather questionable smirk. 

'Girls!!!, mom warned. Khloe and I rose our hands in surrender. We hugged mom who all but quickly released Leons ear. Dad kissed us on the forehead and let us walk out the door to the car. Khloe and I both sat in the backseat patiently waiting for a brooding Leon to finally decide to show up. 20 minutes later Leon was parking the car on his usual spot and we hopped out. Sensing my sudden discomfort Khloe and Leon came by me and engulfed me in a hug.

'I'm here for you Storm, I wont let anything happen to you while I am here. What do I always tell you?' Leon asked as he pulled back to look into my watery eyes.

'That I am strong, brave and courageous,' I whispered.

'and I said the reason was?' he countered. I eyed him curiously, my face clearly displaying my confusion. how on earth did he expect her to remember what he said to her back in grade school.

'urgh,' he groaned. 'do you ever listen to me at all?' I looked to my feet as if they were the most interesting thing currently present there.

'Because I am your brother,' he said lifting my chin, willing me to look him in the eye. 'and no one hurts my sister, you get that?' I slowly nodded my head flattering my lashing vigorously to stop the tears in my eyes from  falling.

'now chin up princess, or that tiara might fall,' he said with a wince and a small smile which turned into a full blown grin showing off his pearly whites.

'right!, Khloe said yanking my hand into hers, aligning our fingers and brought them up between us and said. 'Lets blow this popsicle stand,'  as she walked forward pulling me along with her as she took  determined steps towards the school entrance.

As soon as I entered the school all eyes landed on me, some with worry, joy and I could not be oblivious to the annoyance and sharp hatred I saw blazing in Clarissa's eyes. Oh boy,  what wrong have I done this time? can't the Petersons leave me be, I asked no one in partucular. I look straight at her, showing her that I wasn't at all intimidated by her sudden show of hostility. as expected she scowled, rolled her beady green eyes and walked away. Something about the glint in her eyes told me this was far from over. This was going to be a really, really long day and boy was I in for it.

Leon accompanied Khloe and I to our lockers and bid us goodbye and of course he didn't spare us with his caveman mentality that we all but rolled our eyes at. 'TELL ME WHEN ANYTHING HAPPENS, UNDERSTAND? type of thing.

All my morning classes went perfectly normal. Well as normal as it could get with Half the student body staring at you weird, at first I thought they found out what happened in that room two weeks ago but turns out everyone is just curious to know exactly why I was rushed through the school hall, unconscious and limb in Leons arms only to turn up two weeks after. yup, Definitely not going to tell them. Even if I did I would most probably land myself in the looney bin, no questions asked. Who on Gods earth would believe that I saw an animal morph into a human being. What is this? Twilight. pssh, saves me the explaining.

As I made my way to the school diner, I slipped and dropped my small knapsack spilling all my stuff across the hallway.

'Oh My God, are you okay?' I peaked over my shoulder to see a familiar red head racing down the hallway in my direction, Carol, with an unfamiliar brunette hot on her tail.

'I'm okay, don't worry,' I chuckled. 'Hie.' I flashed her a wide smile as she  and her brunette friend helped me up.

'Hey Stormi, this is my friend Riley, Riley, this is Stormi she is new'. Carol introduced.

'You can call me Ry or Lee,' she giggled. 'whatever floats your boat'. I giggled in response

'I like her already'. I said smiling widely at Riley 

'And 'her' likes you too now can we speed this along and get me some food already, I'm starved,' Riley pouted.

 'you had a whole burger just now Lee'. Carol deadpanned tiredly staring at Ry.

'A girls gotta eat when a girls gotta eat,' Ry shrugged as she slung her arms over mine and Carol's shoulders and literally dragged us into the diner. We stood by the line with our trays in hand chatting away when I felt a tap on my shoulder. The sudden contact slightly made me jump back a few as I turned around to see Clarissa. The brother's not here but his sister surely would not mind keeping me company. 

'yes?' I questioned with a perfectly raised eyebrow, slightly curious about why on Earth Clarissa is talking to me. All caution signs are up at this point. She looked from me to Carol then to Riley, her gaze raced back to Carol and lingered way too long for my liking. Her face contorted into a disgusted scowl. I looked to Carol and saw a layer of unshed tears in her eyes, this scarred me deeply. I had to do something this wasn't right.

'Is there a problem, Clarissa?' I asked firmly to which she glanced my way, rolled her eyes like the pompous and patronizing person she was thus I went on to say 'If not, then please stop wasting our time and pass those scrutinizing glares upon your mirror as you can see they are clearly unwanted here'.

At this point she snapped her gaze to me, glaring daggers my way to which I quickly dismissed and said 'I thought so too, Goodbye Clarissa,' I said sharply, clearly unaffected by her hostility. Serves her right but Lord! if eyes could kill, I'd be 6 feet under by now. 

She let out a sarcastic laugh, 'Look who finally spoke up, almost thought you were deaf but I stand corrected don't I?' anger dripping from each syllable. ' oh and Riley darling, who told you that you could pull off those shoes, Sugar, you look like trailer trash,' she obnoxiously stated.

I'm sorry but ha ha, trailer trash? Shish where is this girl getting her comeback lessons. I'd get my money back.

'Well its a good thing I didn't dress up to impress you, isn't it, love'. distaste was all I could pick out from Riley's words as she stared Clarissa down. You go girl!

Clarissa huffed like a wounded cow and walked away, probably plotting on what to do next. Stupid! I rolled my eyes and softly smiled at a confused Carol.

'Thank you guys for standing up for me I-I,' Carol started only to be cut off by Riley who engulfed both of us in her arms. 

'she's self-centered and mean,' Riley mumbled against my shoulder.

'I agree, she's clearly the self appointed house mean girl,' Carol stated.

'You should meet the brother,' I vengefully said venom seeping though each word as I remembered everything he had done to me. That bastard!

'Hey Storm, are you okay?'

'Storm!' I felt someone shake me and I snapped out of it. oh so I thought.

I opened my eyes and all I saw is red. Oh no.

Not good, Not good AT ALL.

I NEED TO LEAVE!!!

I quickly turn on my heels and run straight into the girls bathroom, locking the door behind me.

Uncle Cain where are you?

I look into the mirror and I shake in horror. 'No,' I whispered. ' this cant be happening right now.

I reach inside my knapsack and grabbed a pair of Tom Ford shades on, I have to get out of here. Preferably unnoticed. I have to hide this, I cant let anyone know.

I felt a headache gnawing through my veins. 
I put on the shades and dashed out of the bathroom headed straight for the Fire Exit behind the school. I really had no time to think about the repercussions of this decision.

I walked over to the door and pushed it open. Surprisingly it wasn't that hard to open, it was light. That's when realization hit me, bad.
Shoot! I still can't believe this is happening to me. Right now!

As I went down the stairs at the back and into the parking lot absentmindedly I bumped into a Wall. I winced 

A wall that was surprising fleshly. I looked up to see what or who I had bumped into and yes I regretted it thoroughly.

A mixture of emotions washed over me. Fright being the dominant one.

'Why don't you just kill me?'

Stormi a teenage girl

Five minutes after Ma Liling seem to have drunk some water, her expression turned pale. She knew that something is wrong with her body. And her eyes landed on the water bottle in her hand. She began looking around to find who the culprit is but could find no one.
Without a choice, she decided to go to her trailer and rest there.
"What is wrong?" Manager Lan asked with a worried expression on her face.
"Nothing, I just feel like something is wrong with my body…" Ma Liling said as she slowly got up from her seat.
Then suddenly her figure wobbled as she feels her vision becoming blurry and strong vertigo hit her.
Ma Liling suddenly began falling down which alerted manager Lan and Min Feiyong they were stunned as they did not know what to do next as they just watch while Ma Liling fell to the ground.
All of a sudden, a dashing figure appears and caught Ma Liling's frail body before it could hit the ground.
Everyone was stunned at the young man who appears so heroically while catching the falling beauty. He was like a handsome prince who suddenly appears dashing and majestic while in his arms is a frail little princess.
"You…" Manager Lan suddenly said upon realizing who that guy who caught Ma Liling.
This is because she realized that this guy was the same person who approached them when they were in the forest.
"You… you are Jack… right?" manager Lan said with a frown.
"Yes, I just saw Miss Liling wobbling so I was able to move and catch her," he said with a dashing smile.
Those who saw this scene feel like this guy are not only handsome but are also chivalrous and caring. Plus his action a while ago truly displays his charms as a male and a hunk at that.
"I think Miss Liling is tired, I should take her to her trailer…" he said while he 'princess carry' Ma Liling in his strong arms.
Unknown to those who are watching him, a slight smirk appears on his mouth as his eyes glinted with an evil lust.
He could clearly smell the sweet scent on Ma Liling's body which awoken his manly desire and his yearning to conquer this woman. From the soft body in his arms, he could already imagine how this woman would feel as soon as he got his chance with her.
He could not wait anymore and wanted to get in the trailer and enact the plan he already set.
While he carries Ma Liling towards the trailer, Manager Lan and Min Feiyong is following behind them. Unknown to them within the shrubberies a person with a long lens has already captured every moment and every angle which would truly shake the entertainment world once those pictures come out.
When they reach the trailer, Jack Li carefully settled down Ma Liling inside the trailer. Then he secretly unlocked one of the trailer windows before leaving.
Meanwhile, Manager Lan and Min Feiyong stayed beside Ma Liling with worried expressions on their faces.
As soon as Jack Li walks out of the trailer, the two heaves a sigh of relief.
Meanwhile, just outside of the trailer door, Jack Li's facial expression slowly turned sinister. He could not wait for those two women to leave.
"I just have to wait… Wait for me my little bunny…" he muttered as he leaves the trailer.
An hour later, someone knocks on the trailer door.
"Hi… Umm… We have some problem… we need another makeup artist to assist us with the finishing touches of our remaining models… can you help us so that we can wrap the commercial shoot early?" the staff said with a reluctant smile on his face.
When Manager Lan heard this she took a glance at Min Feiyang and nodded her head.
"Did Director Gao already know the situation of Miss Liling?" Manager Lan suddenly asked.
"Oh… no worries, I think Miss Liling's part is already done…"
"Then can we go home already?"
Hearing her words, that staff stiffen and did not know what to say. He just showed an apologetic smile on his face as he left.
"Hmm… Manager Lan just stays here, I will check what is happening outside." Min Feiyang said as she walks out of the trailer with her makeup kit.
Not long later after she left another knock sounded from outside.
"Manager Lan… Director Gao wanted to talk to you about Miss Liling…" someone outside of the trailer said.
Hearing this, manager Lan frowned and showed a bit of reluctance. But she still walks out of the trailer and followed that staff member.
As soon as she walks out of the trailer, a figure began to sneakily approach the trailer and slowly opens the door. Seeing that the door is very easy to open a perverted smile appears on his face.
Jack Li just shook his head at how influential that Wan Mei Mei is for being able to manipulate even the staff of the commercial shoot. Although he knew that what she is doing is terrible and is a crime, he who is going to enjoy beauty could not help but just agree with this plan.
If worse comes to worst, he could just escape with the money already deposited in his bank account. That money is enough for him to live a good life.
Jack Li carefully enters the trailer and took a peek inside where the bed is. From where he stands, he could see that a person is inside that blanket and that person seems to be sleeping.
"I guess what I gave her is a sleeping pill and not that ecstasy drug… No worries, I will just force-feed her the drug later…"
Jack Li could not contain the excitement in his heart as he walks quickly towards the side of the small resting bed. Then without warning, he suddenly grabs the blanket and lifts it up so that he could admire the sleepy beauty inside that think blanket.
