Twilight

A month after he left, we didn't lost our communication. Colton and I continued what we had, whatever this is. We would talk when we have spare time or even when we feel like it.

"Hey! So how was your day?" tanong ni Colton, magka videocall kami ngayon. Naka-ngiti ko siyang pinapanood habang naghahanda siya ng breakfast, samantalang ako, nakadapa sa kama at sinusubukang wag matulog dahil madaling araw na. 

"Fine. Nothing new, review center at bahay lang naman ako." naka-pangalumbabang sagot ko. 

Our routine was like that everyday. But, I guess it was just really for a fleeting moment. I thought he was just busy.. with school or with work. but, seconds turned into minutes, minutes turned into hours, hours turned into days and days turned into weeks, there was nothing, I received nothing. I never heard anything from him anymore. I would always glance at my phone hoping he would call me or message me but, nothing. I already anticipated this to happen, though not this early and it was really different when it really happened.

One night, I was reviewing when my phone vibrated. Hindi ko pa alam kung titingnan ko ba or hahayaan na lang. I was hesitating pero.. Hindi ko nakayanan, gamit ang nanginginig kong mga kamay kinuha ko ang cellphone ko. Ilang minuto ko pang tinitigan ito baka sakaling namamalik mata lang ako. Baka dahil sa sobrang pagka miss ko sakaniya pinaglalaruan na ako ng mga mata ko.. But... No it was really a message from Colton. I didn't know na naka ngiti na pala ako while opening his message.

From: Colton

Hi! Ash. I'm sorry for making you worried this past weeks. I was crazy busy with school and granpa has been nagging me about work.

Wala nang kasunod ang message niya. Pero I was happy kasi tama ako busy lang siya. I was about to call Cara para sabihing nai message na ako ni Colton when I received another message from him.

From: Colton

Ash.

That's it? 

I was waiting for another message but, it didn't happened again. Weeks after that I received another one, though this time. It was a voice message. I was happy while opening it, but I don't know why I have this strange feeling that I'm not gonna like it. 

And... my instinct is always right.. 

From: Colton

"Ash... I'm sorry." his voice was different. It sounded sad, but there was determination. Sorry?..... He said sorry, bakit siya nag-sorry.. what's going on? I was up all night thinking kung anong nangyayare, na baka nagbibiro lang siya. pero.. hanggang mag umaga wala na akong natanggap na iba pang mensahe galing sakaniya. I was up all night hoping na kapag paulit ulit kong pinakinggan ang voice message niya, magbabago ang sasabihin niya. 

I have a month before my board but here I am reminiscing how painful that is. So stupid of me to still think of that kahit alam kong masasaktan ako. Na sa sobrang sakit tumatawa ako pero.. may luha na pala ang mga mata ko. I should be focusing on my reviews.. Not sulking in a corner like this would ease my pain. I wanna forget about it too. But I can't, my system is looking for him. My whole system wants him. 

I am still in my room staring on the concrete wall when someone knocked. I didn't bother opening the door. 

"Hey!" umupo si Cara sa kama ko at hinaplos haplos ang buhok ko. "I know you're on a tough situation right now, pero... You have a board coming up Ash. This is not you. I don't really know kung bakit nakipag hiwalay si Colton but--"

"We were never a thing. Walang kami." pagtatama ko sakaniya.

"Okay. But, my point here is passed the board first and, fine I will help you sulk here. Mag walwal tayo ng mag walwal. Go lang. Just.. For now, ayusin mo muna ang sarili mo, what happened to I will not let anything hinder my dreams? hmm?"

Hindi ko siya sinagot at niyakap na lang. I cried again, but this time, after the tears I'll make sure that no more crying, no more reminiscing and that I'll definitely pass the board.

After my talk with Cara, I started acting like everything's normal. I focused on my reviews, there were even times that I wouldn't sleep or even if I slept it would be for 3 to 4 hours. I will make sure that everything I worked hard for since day one will be payed off. 

Today is October, today is the big day, my board exam. I am nervous in my seat sweating bullets, but remembering the messages I received from my friends and family saying I can do it calm me a bit. Okay Ash! you can do it! You will be a CPA. 

And... 

I did. All my hard work were payed off, all the sacrifices my mother did for me, all of it.. It's all worth it. I am now a  Certified Public Accountant ..

"CONGRATULATIONS!" sigaw ng pag bati ang unang bumungad saakin pagka pasok ko sa bahay. Nasa sala ang mga kaibigan ko kasama ang iba ko pang mga kakilala at kaklase. May hawak-hawak na cake si mama habang sina Vin, Cara at Graye ay may hawak na tarpaulin kung saan naka printa ang pangalan ko katabi ang title na matagal ko nang inaasam. 

"CONGRATULATIONS! Ashanti Canizares, CPA" basa ko dito na may ngiti sa aking labi. Naluluha ko silang tiningnan lahat. Mga taong hindi ako iniwan.

"Thank you guys..."

Kanina pa naka-uwi ang iba kong mga bisita, ang mga natira na lang is mga iba kong kamag-anak pati sina Vin. Nasa garden kaming apat ngayon dahil nasa sala sila mama at ang mga tita ko.

"CPA ka na.." proud na sabi ni Cara habang yakap yakap ang braso ko.

"Ikaw din psychiatrist ka na.. Congrats to us Cars.. and thank you for not giving up on me..." bulong ko sakaniya.

"Tama na ang bulungan, kausapin niyo naman kami." pabirong sabi ni Vin habang hinihiwalay saakin si Cara.

"Sus..... Selos ka lang, kayo na ba?"

"May love life ako, ikaw lang wala." sagot niya sabay halik sa pisnge ni Cara, I found out na while I was sulking dahil sa hindi pag-paparamdam ni Colton nag-liligawan na pala sila ni Vin at sinagot niya ito nung maka-pasa siya sa board.

"Ayan si Graye oh.. nagpaparamdaman na sayo manhid manhidan ka naman." nanalaki ang matang sinapak ko si Arvino, napaka talaga, naiilang na nilingon ko si Graye at ang tukmol tumatawa lang.

Doon sa buwan na humahabol ako sa mga reviews ko si Graye ang laging kasa-kasama ko, well.. kapag wala lang si Cara, siya ang mag-hahatid saakin sa review center, minsan siya din ang susundo kapag wala akong dalang sasakyan... and every time na hindi siya busy sa work dadalaw siya sa bahay. Si Graye isa lang masasabi ko, parang siya ang pumalit kay Colton... yun nga lang, mag-kaiba pa din sila... 

I chuckle remembering something, Mr. Payong and Mr. Mumu.. parang nabaliktad ata, kasi dapat si Garye yung multo but it turns out siya ang naging payong ko, and that tukmol Colton... he is definitely the Ghost one.. Technically, hindi siya nang-ghost kasi nag-sabi siya, though not enough dahil basta sorry lang siya wala namang reason so.... isa pa din siyang malaking ghoster... 

"So what's your plan?" tanong ni Graye.

"Huh?" tulirong tanong ko din. 

"About work?"

"Oh! May mga company na ang tumatawag saakin but... wala pa akong tinatanggap kahit isa, pag-iisipan ko muna," humihikab kong sagot.

"Sleepy?" tumango lang ako sakaniya, tinapik niya ang kanang balikat niya, kinunutan ko lng siya ng noo. "Rest your head here, here in my shoulder kahit sandali lang." nginitian ko siya.

I rested my head on his shoulder, inakbayan niya ako at inayos ang ulo ko sa mas komportableng posisyon, "Thanks.." bulong ko, pumipikit pikit na ako when I felt a soft kiss on my forehead, I didn't realize I'm already smiling before I doze off.

Inaantok pa ako pero nararamdaman ko na ang sikat ng araw na pumapasok sa kwarto ko. Naka-pikit pa ako when I heard muffle voices outside my room. Hindi ko yun pinansin dahil tumigil din naman kaagad, inabot ko ang cellphone ko para tingnan ang oras, napabangon ako ng makitang shit tanghali na pala.

Kakamot kamot akong bumababa sa hagdan, "Ma!" tawag ko bago ako dumiretso sa kusina para mag-hanap ng makakain.

"Ija ano bang ginagawa mo diyan? Para kang daga." naka-ngusong nilingon ko si mama dahil sa sinabi niya. Nilapitan niya ako iniabot niya saakin ang dala dala niyang take out spaghetti.

"Thanks ma." 

Sa sala ko kinain ang spaghetti na bigay ni mama, wala pa akong trabaho ngayon dahil bukod sa wala pa akong tinatanggap na offer hindi pa kami nakakapag oath taking. 

I was scrolling on social media when I received a notification in Facebook, it was a memory... Pictures from our trip in E.K.. mababakas ang ngiti sa mga labi ko habang binabalikan ang nangyare nung mga panahon na iyon. Ngiti na may halong lungkot ang nararamdaman ko..

"He's melting." gulat akong napalingon sa taong nag-salita,

"Sorry." hindi ko man lang namamalayan na ilang minuto na pala akong naka-titig sa picture ni Colton. "I miss him. I miss him Graye." pilit na ngiti lang ang iginawad niya saakin.

Umayos ako ng upo bago hinarap ng maayos si Graye, "So bakit ka nga pala nandito?"

"It's my day off."

"Oh yeah?"

"Nandito si Cara kanina pero tulog ka pa so hindi ka na muna niya ginising." lito pa din akong naka-tingin sakaniya. "So anong connect nun sayo?" tanong ko. He chuckled at my reaction.

"Samahan daw muna kita dahil baka mag-paka-emo ka nanaman." sinimangutan ko lang siya.

"We should do something to kill the time. Ano sa tingin mo?" sabi niya na tumayo na at naglakad papunta sa lalagyanan ng mga CD. "How bout a movie?" tanong niya habang hawak ang CD ng twilight trilogy.

Naka-ngiti akong tumango, "I miss twilight!"

How I adore Bella for loving someone like Edward. She's not even sure what future with him will look like but she still risk it because she loves him. Oh! What love can do to people. And Edward... Edward is so sweet, a gentle vampire, a man willing to do anything just to be with you. May lalaki pa bang ganoon? How unfair! fictional characters are better than the real ones.

"You are my life now." kinikilig kong ulit sa sinabi ni Edward.

"You know Graye we should watch the next one.. the next trilogy is parang start talaga eh right?" ngumunguyang tanong ko, nag-kibit balikat lang siya.

Ngiting ngiti ako pagka-tapos ng twilight, nilingon ko si Graye, nang makitang wala siyang balak tumayo ako na lang ang nag-ayos ng next CD para mapanood na namin sayang oras...

"Saan ka pupunta?" tanong ko. 

"Kukuha lang akong snacks, mas masarap manood kapag may kinakain."

"Osige.. i-p-pause ko muna bilisan mo."

Kinakain daw? Oh shush Ashanti! Napaka berde mo ang lumot lumot ng utak mo.. Busy pa ako sa pakikipag-away sa sarili ko ng makita ko siyang may dala dalang mga chichirya at inumin.

"Dami ah!"

"Naman! Matakaw ka ata." pang-aasar niya

Hinampas ko siya sa braso, "Ano?" muntik pang matapon ang mga dala niyang pagkain pero wala akong pake. How dare he!

"Matakaw ka sabi ko." at inulit pa nga, hinampas ko siya ng unan dahil sa inis ko, 

"Ayan nalaglag tuloy ang pagkain, hampasan ba gusto mo?" may ngisi niyang sabi,

"Teka!... Iba ata balak mo! Bakit ka tumatayo?" kinakabahan kong tanong dahil unti unti na siyang lumalapit saakin.

"Teka! Graye! An--" bigla niya akong kiniliti. 

"My gosh s-s- goodness s-stop," naiiyak kong pagmamakaawa, "G-R-A-Y-E! AYOKO NA! okay yo-u win ta-ma na.." hinihingal kong sabi, natatawa niya akong niyakap galing sa likod, nararamdaman ko pa ang vibration gawa ng pag-tawa niya. Yakap pa din ako ni Graye galing sa likod at patuloy kami sa pag-tawa ng makarinig kami na parang may nabagsak. 

"The Hell!?" tulala at tila hindi maka-paniwalang usal ni Cara habang may nanlalaking mata at nakatakip ang isang kamay sa bibig. Nagka-tinginan kami ni Graye at sabay na nagkibit balikat. Umayos kami ng upo pero nakapulupot pa din ang isang braso niya saakin. 

"Ano to Graye!?" histeryang sigaw ni Cara, nilapitan pa niya ako at hinawakan ang buhok ko. "Bakit gulo-gulo ang buhok nang kaibigan ko!? Anong ginawa mo sakaniya!?"

Napairap na lang ako sa reaction ni Cara, naiiling ko siyang tinitingnan habang patuloy siyang nag-pa-paka OA sa harap ni Graye, ano ba nakain nitong babaita na ito, hindi nanaman ata naturukan.

"Tama na yan Cars. Nanonood lang kami ng movie. Wag kang OA!" pang-aawat ko, "Asan nga pala si Arvino? Hindi ata naka-buntot sayo?"

Tinantanan naman na niya si Graye at umupo na lang sa tabi ko, "Busy siya sa trabaho. May app nanaman kasi silang dinedevelop."

"Edi dito ka na lang muna..."

"Yup, atsaka nga pala dala ko na yung dress na isusuot mo sa oath taking niyo." pinakita niya saakin ang dala niyang paper bag na naihulog niya kanina. Isa iyong white dress na may shade ng blue.

"Thanks Cars." ngumiti lang siya.

"So asan yung pinapanood niyo?"

"Ay shit oo nga pala," kinalabit ko si Graye.

"Graye play mo na."

Nanood lang kami ng nanood, hindi naman buong mag-hapon dahil titigil kami kapag kakain at dahil hindi pa nga ako ligo nung dumating si Graye, before kami mag-start sa pangatlong trilogy nag-paalam akong maliligo muna ako. Biruin mo yun nakipag-harutan ako kay Graye ng di ligo.. geez nakakahiya na ewan mamaya amoy laway pa pala ako. Kakaloka!

Pagka-tapos ko maligo bumaba na kaagad ako, pagka-baba ko naabutan ko silang seryosong nanonood ng movie, nang makita ako ng Graye sa may tapat ng hagdan tumayo siya at nilapitan ako, nakita ko pang sumulyap si Cara pero agad ding ibinalik ang atensyon sa panonood.

"Uuwi na ako. I still have work tomorrow." paalam ni Graye.

"Bakit hindi ka na lang dito mag-dinner? Maya maya gabi na din naman."

"May dinner ako sa bahay. I promised Mom uuwi ako ngayong gabi."

"Ganoon ba... osige ingat ka."

"Thanks."

"Hatid na kita sa labas, tara." nauna na akong lumabas narinig ko pang nag-paalam na siya kay Cara.

"Ingat ka." sabi ko nang maka-sakay na siya sa sasakyan niya, kumaway lang siya.

Pag-pasok ko sa loob nanonood pa din si Cara pero nang makita niya ako agad niya akong binalingan.

"Ash--" I paid my attention to her, "Anong meron sa inyo ni Graye? I mean.. diba-- diba nung kelan lang ng nagnga-nga-ngawa ka pa dahil di na nag-paramdam si Colton?"

"Cars mag-kaibigan lang kami ni Graye."

Inirapan niya ako, "Right! Just like what you said last time.. na kaibigan mo lang din si Colton." pang-aakusa niya

"That... Was... Different..."

"How so!? Mmm?" tanong niya.

"Kasi when I said kaibigan ko lang si Colton I wasn't sure kung anong meron kami kaya mag-kaibigan lang sinabi ko while with Graye naman is kaibigan lang talaga."

"Sure Bella."

"Bella?" lito kong tanong

"Yeah! Bella," tinuro niya pa ako at si Bella na nasa screen, "Kasi nga right now nalilito ka pa din, kung si Colton ba na iniwan ka or si Graye na nasa tabi mo, just like Bella, though di nga lang natin alam kung sino talaga si real life Edward at sino si Jacob mahirap naman mag-salita baka mamaya iba ang mangyare kesa sa expectation natin."

"I'm not Bella." may diing sabi ko, yeah I'm not Bella.

"You're not Bella?" naka-ngisi niyang tanong, humalukipkip siya at mataray akong tiningnan, "Why? Everybody wants to be Bella. Don't you adore her?"

"I do. I adore how much she loves Edward, how she accepts all of him knowing how dangerous and dark to be with Edward. But aren't they stupid?"

"Stupid?"

"Yeah! S-T-U-P-I-D. Remember when Edward left her? She found out that if she's in danger an illusion of Edward will appear. And because of that she tried to drown herself.. no she actually did drowned herself hoping Edward would save her. And.. EDWARD, he'll reveal himself so he would die because he thought Bella was dead."

"That's how much they love each other. Just like--" 

"Romeo and Juliet" sabay naming sabi

"That's scary.." sinilip ko muna sandali ang movie na patuloy pa din sa pag-play bago muling nilingon si Cara na nag-aantay ng sasabihin ko. "Love is scary, scary cause someone might overpower your mind and your emotions."

"You can't blame them if they love like that."sabi ni Cara.

"I don't blame them. I mean look at Edward and Bella, they had a great ending. How funny, sometimes the most stupidest things we did turned out to be the best decision, the best choice we ever had. I guess doing stupid things is not that bad."

"Right! And so stupid of us to actually keep playing a movie when we don't even watch."

I chuckled at what Cara said,

My tears reminds me of the rain, they just keep falling, even when you wish them to stop.

"Anong gagawin ko?" 

Nilapitan niya ako at niyakap, nang matigil ako sa pag-iyak, hinawakan niya ang magkabilang balikat ko at tinitigan ako sa mata. 

"You know,  We don't live in fairytale Ash,  We do live in reality. And, reality is.. Life gives us.. No, life surprises us with something we do not want."

"But, I am torn. I don't know what to choose." I reason out.

"Hey, do you remember what you told me before? That sometimes the answer to your question is not in the choices, the answer is in you. The answer is up to you."

I am really lucky that she is my friend..

A white orb like thing which is continuously emitting light can be seen drifting in the dark void, without knowing where it was.

The white orb like thing is the soul of a person whose name from what it remembered is PrimorDious.

He didn't know where he was and the last thing he remembered was that he was driving his car at midnight somewhere between 3-4am. 
He was having a bad day, first he got fired from his job because of his stupid mistake that he made unintentionally and after that evening his girlfriend dumped him for someone richer. 

Well PrimorDious was an orphan, so he didn't have anyone that he loves other than his girlfriend whom he loved dearly. He was already having a bad day when he was fired, so after being dumped after 3 years of being in relationship hit him hard. 

He was driving his car from evening and kept driving without the concern for time. The cars radio was on and some sad music was being played. 
He really loved his teenage years when he got adopted by a rich couple. The two years that he lived with them can be said to be the best moments of his entire life.

He didn't have to do anything as they spoiled him very much. His foster-parents love him very much as they spent all their leisure time with him. His father also introduce him to animes, novels and movies, which they both enjoyed together and even sometimes joined by their mother.

But at that fateful day, when he was just waiting for his parents to come from their work, so that he can watch a new anime with them, a very unfortunate event happened. He learnt the other day that as his parents were returning from their work in their car, they met an accident and died in a crash. He was broken to the core as he loved them very much, he didn't know his biological parents but he loved them even more than that, he cried the whole day and didn't came out of his room for 3 days.

After inheriting what his parents left for him, he continued his studies and found a job after his graduation. He also met his girlfriend at his job.

He now was really recalling that good old 2 year and subconsciously a sweet smile formed at his lips as tears came out of his eyes. He didn't have a very bad life but it can't be said to be a good one.

What he didn't notice was that he unconsciously drove to the mountain side and was going straight for the fall. A phone call came at that right moment where there was a warning sign, he didn't notice as he looked at the phone and saw a notification of his girlfriend message.

He clicked it opened and saw that she was going to live-in with his new boyfriend from tomorrow, so she wanted to take back some of her belongings that was at his home and she was coming at the morning to take it away. As he smiled sadly after reading, he suddenly a jerk and then felt himself going down and looked outside of the car hurriedly.

He watched with a little tear in his eyes as his car just fell of the cliff. He was really happy that if there was an afterlife he can finally meet his parents and maybe stay with them.

He closed his eyes peacefully as the car hit the ground and was blasted. The last thought he had was, ' What did he do to deserve any of this' but none answered as he died.

Now looking back at his life, he really didn't feel anything except pity for himself. As he was thinking suddenly his surrounding changed from black to pure white. 

He found himself again in his body who was sitting on a chair and opposite to him sat a being whose feature can't be defined as it changed every moment.

The being looked at me with what seemed to be a genuine smile and said, " Hello there young one! Well you might already know but you're dead and is here to get reincarnated."

I simply nodded at him and asked, " Is it like those fanfiction where I get reincarnated with some wishes.."

Before I can complete my sentence the being that I presume God said, " Yes, you can reincarnate into fictions of your choice and will get to have 3 wishes. And if you are going to ask why did I chose you, well don't mind but it was all random. I pulled a soul from the bunch and anyone that gets called receives the chance. But I have got to say, I didn't think I would chose someone who is not obsessed with conquering and gaining more powers but wants to live a good life. So as being in a good mood I will make it 4 wishes. So tell me what do you desire.'

I was shocked that I was going to be reincarnated with 3 wishes but was also relieved that I was not choose because of some fate or anything. I was also pleasently surprised when the being..god just added one wish because he thought I am not bad. 

I looked at him and then thought for about 30 minutes before answering him, " So I'm really thankful that you gave me this chance even if I was choosen at random. I would like to reincarnate into Twilight world as Bella Swan's twin elder brother. My first wish is that I wanted to be a primordial hybrid of vampire and werewolf with the combined abilities of Cadis Etrama de Raizel and Muzaka.
My second wish is to have the power of Trion Juggernaut without any side effects or connection to Cyttorak.
My third wish that I wanted a Teleportation abilty which doesn't have any limitations, I can teleport myself or anyone other as long as they are in contact with my body to anywhere or to anyone if I wanted to with a single thought.
My fourth wish is to have the power to grant the vampire the ability to eat, age and reproduce."

After I finished saying that I looked at the being who looked at me and smiled and said, " Well you're really contradicting my judgement of you. But I knew that you're just asking it to enjoy yourself so it doesn't matter. All your wishes can be granted but may I ask why do you want to wish for the power to grant vampires the ability to eat, age and reproduce."

I simply smiled at that and answered, " Well i wanted this power because I read a fanfiction of Twilight where the protagonist have also asked for the same ability. And I really wanted to live a happy life with my coven. Can you also make that possible that my powers and memories only returned to me when I reached Forks."

"Well it's alright. So enjoy and live your life to the fullest. Goodbye young one." As he said that my head started spinning as I found myself at the Forks airport.

And also the fourth ability I wished for is an ability I copied from the author of the other Twilight fanfic named 'A Reincarnation in Twilight'. So if the said person is reading this I'm really sorry but this ability is the one that I liked a lot and also wanted for my MC, so I'm sorry about stealing your ideas.
