This world is one where common sense is defied at every waking second. This world is one where every single tale of demons and gods are either likely to be real, or had grains of truth in them.
This world is one that used to be nothing more than a tale of fiction that he had once read to pass the time. Now, it is his reality.
Nobody told him that reincarnation was a thing, much less reincarnating into a once fictional world. Nobody told him that he wouldn't be reincarnated into somewhere within Glory City where everything first started. No no no, he is not a damn protagonist with plot armour helping him. Of all places that he could be dropped into it has to be within one of the most cutthroat places on the Divine Continent.
Nether Realm, Blackrock City, Dark Guild. That is where he was from. Why did he say was?
It's simple, he escaped from that hellhole. He has to if he wants to live instead of accepting his fate to die as cannon fodder.
The circumstances of his second birth aside, this world isn't all that bad. Like, sure, it's crazy dangerous out there, especially so if you do not have the needed strength to protect yourself or have any backing to rely upon. Even then, he made do with it. He travelled far and wide, exploring the places that he once read about in a life long past and even more. Adventuring is surprisingly fun once he got used to the nomadic lifestyle. It has a form of allure and excitement that he could not possibly experience back on earth.
He still has no idea which part of the canon storyline he had ended up in because he had fled in the opposite direction of Glory City during his escape from the Nether Realm. He spent years wandering around the Divine Continent until he finally decided it was safe enough to venture near where Glory City and the Nether Realm reside. It's been about seven years since then. He should have more or less faded from the minds of the people back from the Dark Guild. It should be safer now, his enemies should have forgotten about him by now.
Now then, time to see which part of the timeline he had wounded up in.
 
"Where's that brat?!"
"No idea! Keep searching! We need to find him or the Demon Lord will have our heads on a pike!"
A boy only eight years of age held his breath as the sound of footsteps rushed by him. Worn around his finger is an interspatial ring that he had stolen in his mad quest to escape from here. He is no fool. He knows who the Demon Lord truly is. He had seen how his cultivation techniques worked, he had seen how the Demon Lord sucked the essence out of anyone that caught his eye on a mere whim and like hell he would be a human sacrifice to it.
So, he plotted his escape. However, it is a dangerous world out there. Without any supreme cultivation techniques, items, or backing he wouldn't survive a single day out there. The only thing he has a talent for are inscriptions and that wouldn't do him much good, at least not now. He needs a plan.
His plan did work in the end. He managed to steal the most important looking interspatial ring from the Demon Lord's personal chambers and use his talent over inscriptions to somehow transfer the ownership to him instead, granting him access to everything stored within. Even till now, he's still a little baffled that he actually managed to do that.
He remembered taking his first step out of the underground of the St. Ancestral Mountain Range. He remembered how the wind felt as it brushed against his skin, how the sunlight appeared to his eyes, and how the scent of forest assaulted his nose.
He is free.
This is now his tale of demons and gods.
 
AN: Not sure if anybody here actually reads TDG but oh well, might as well try and see how well this goes. Chapters for this story will be short because this story is merely written on a whim for the fun of it, just saying.

The Humans...made and taught by the gods, nurtured in the garden of Eden and unleashed upon the world where they could live for themselves. The gods however underestimated how much humanity dreamed and desired losing control of the race they so dearly loved and made losing them slowly to the countless centuries the world has lived.
The scylla...animals and non human dwellers of the earth, a race full of demons, demi-humans, monsters and animals. A once allied faction of the humans that now suffers daily because of their selfish desires and endless greed for power.

The gods made a pure and innocent world free of war and slaughter, a world free of pain and disease, a world full of undiscovered wonders and fantastical creatures. That world has now turned from a safe place to a world of unspeakable pain, a world controlled by selfish desires. This is the world you will soon come to know...Welcome dear reader, welcome to my world. Welcome To The Tale Of Humanity.
 



Hello there, not your usual Synopsis huh.

This is my first time writing a book and would appreciate for you to give it a read, I've thought long and hard about this so just a read the intro and if it doesn't suit you fair enough. 

ps. This is a plain old message from you average person on this app to another, thank you for reading this if you have. I truly hope you enjoy my attempt at writing a book

Life isn't fair for everyone; Some are born into rich or royal families. Some are born into poor families. Some are born into slavery. Some aren't even supposed to be born. But a unique one, Damien. He was an anomaly, born with nothing but a memory.

Life can be compared to a deck of cards, though you only get one card. That very card contains your complete life and fate. The symbols representing the four races; Clubs being dragons, Diamonds being humans, Hearts being gods, and the Spades being demons. The index representing superiority; Ace being at the top, a realm or weapon master. The King or Queen being someone destined to rule a kingdom and or live a life of pure royalty. The Jack, someone destined to be of slightly lesser royalty of a King or Queen. Someone below the pure bloodline, they are a royal but cannot wield the throne. The tenth being someone in the royal army or on the same level of importance. The fifth being a merchant, farmer, or simple commoner. The lower indexes, being someone destined to be a slave, spend their life in a jail cell or be executed. The Joker, someone that chooses their own fate, someone that can change the world for both better and for worse.

He was lost, no idea who or where he was. All he could remember was a black hole the size of a door, no more than five feet away from him. There was a girl with white hair, she looked as if in distress, screaming "Damien!" He had nothing to go off of besides that she might be screaming for him. He wanted to know who she was. If she could have been a family member, a friend, or perhaps more than just a friend of his. His thoughts were scattered, he could barely remember anything. Did he ever have friends or a family? This girl, Damien wanted to know if she was alive. He tried to remember as hard as he could to see the area he was in. It was a research facility of some sort. With a radiant light growing in size he opened his eyes. He was under a tree in a land so unfamiliar it had somehow felt lighter. On the horizon, he could see a kingdom, the kingdom that was called "Casteria" a place for all non-troublemakers, those who know how to follow rules.

Learning the rules of the kingdom were easy, all Damien had to do was make it to the church of Casteria. The church was run by the ones called The Knights of the Red Cross. They follow simple rules from both the Council and an Oath they passed down for an eternity; Never disobey the Oath's rules. Never disobey the Council's rules. Follow your calling until it's complete. No questioning authority. The callings people were given from the Red Cross Knights were simple; Lumberjack, Miner, Farmer, Builder, Hunter, Knight, Trainee, Trainer, and many more. The list had gone on and on, stating thousands of callings. The Oath they follow was written in a book, at least a thousand pages long filled with words. Damien had understood the language it was written in. The book is a tale of a man they called the "Hero" he was the first Realm Master of the Medieval Realm. The same realm Damien had stood in at the very moment he read the tale. The Oath starts peaceful but ends brutally, from peace to complete and utter destruction and despair.

The Hero was a Realm Master, meaning he was the strongest of the realm he mastered. He was a master of the Medieval Realm, one that many sought to master. The Hero's tale ends in a war between a demon, dragon, god, and the Hero himself. The war was held in the Celestial Realm on a battlefield unknown. The four were mostly unknown, other than names and race there wasn't much told about them. The dragon and god brought armies with them. The Hero brought his disciple and his three most trusty worthy companions. The Spear Master, the Bow Master, the Magic Master, his disciple, and himself wielding the infamous Black Excalibur. The demon had waited and watched on the battlefield with his guardians as the dragon and god were both beaten by the Hero. The battles had lasted months, the demon watched it all. The demon wields the power of the three voids, his three most trustworthy guardians wield one each. The other guardians are masters in their own specific ways. Summoning, Taming, Illusionary magic, Curses, and any other profession. They call the demon by many nicknames, many were no longer used over time. Though he was usually called Dark Lord, Monster Lord, Demon God, Void Master. Many that have no longer been used being The Devil, Satan, Diablo, Damien.

The demon had called up one of his guardians, and in a snap of the guardian's finger, the Hero was completely alone. His disciple and the rest of his group had completely disappeared, nowhere to be found. The demon called up two more guardians and they both used a different spell, both being completely unknown to the Hero. In almost an instant the heroes party had shown up behind the demon in a lot more demonic form, as well as both an army of dragons and gods. The Hero was completely out skilled and overpowered, he believed each guardian had the power to defeat him. Let alone the fact the Dark Lord himself had over a hundred guardians. The Hero wasn't stupid, he had known when he lost the battle. He had gotten on his knees and admitted defeat, the demon had sent the Hero into the Abyss. The realm between all realms, the tale says the Hero died shortly after finding a way out of the abyss. He had told his closest friends his story, from the very beginning to the very end, all of it. He told them to spread his story to anyone and everyone who would listen. Thus, the tale of the Hero had begun a religion of an anti-demonic religion that many kingdoms had adopted. The tale began the Oath that many knights had followed until they made a battalion of dedicated Demon Slayers for demon genocide. They all acknowledged that demons were stronger, they tried to understand the power of both the demons themselves and demon slayer magic. They could never control the demon slayer magic nor replicate the magic the demon from the tale had used.

                                             What humans don't understand they seek to destroy.

Merina: 'This man…he is strange. Just by looking at him, I cannot tell anything. Even though his face is not covered, I cannot see his true name nor can I see his past or future. Who…What the hell is he?'

They were sitting across the table from each other.

As a common courtesy, Merina even served her guest some tea which he politely accepted.

Dark Lord: "I find your hospitality to be very pleasing. You have my gratitude. Frankly, I was expecting a far harsher reception"

Merina: "Dark-san…May I please ask you…"

Dark Lord: "Anything, my lady"

Merina: "Are you a demon or an undead?"

Dark Lord: "Little bit of both, actually."

Merina: 'How can it be? He has no past or future….only the present. His fate has been severed, utterly and completely. Almost like someone rewrote his destiny'

Merina: "What in the name of Heaven are you?"

Dark Lord: "Just Interference, nothing more, nothing less"

Merina: 'Interference? What is he talking about? I don't understand…But more importantly…'

Merina: "How did you know I was a goddess?"

Dark Lord: "The one who has gazed upon a deity's true form can always perceive them no matter how they disguise themselves"

Merina: "Under what circumstances did you see a deity's true form?"

Dark Lord: "That would be a rather long story, but if you wish…"

Merina: "Yes! I would like to hear it!"

Dark Lord: "Of course, of course, no need to rush; after all, we do have all the time in the world…"

Dark Lord: 'Wow, she is one excitable goddess. I guess her daytime job was boring her senseless.'

He began his story from the beginning: starting at how he was kidnapped from his family and was stranded upon the world nine hundred years prior to his own and nearly everything he could recall that happened afterwards.

It took him about three hours to finish his tale; all the while the goddess simply sat there and listened with a wide open mouth.

When he finally finished, she understood one thing.

The culprit behind nearly every calamity that has befallen upon this kingdom so far was none other than this man.

When he finally finished, he sighed and said.

Dark Lord: "I hope you don't find my tale to be too exaggerated; I tried to stick to the facts as close as possible…"

Merina: "I am not doubting your credibility, Dark-san, but…Are you completely insane?!"

Dark Lord: "Pardon?"

Merina: "What you have done is absolute defiance to the authority of the gods!"

Dark Lord: "Well, to be fair, one of your superiors screwed me over first. I am just paying back the favor"

Merina: "Such arrogance! How dare you! You…"

Dark Lord: "Oh please, don't begin some cliché rant about how impudent I am. It really will not get us anywhere. In fact, I was hoping that we could have a fine talk, and by the end you can do whatever you want with my corpse"

Merina: "Your very presence in this world has the effect of altering the fate everything around you. Those who should have died lived, but those who should have lived died."

Merina: "The Goddess of Fate is desperately trying to bring everything back to balance and restore it all back to normal. But the more mess you create, the more off from the original fate the reality becomes!"

Dark Lord: "That was kind of the point"

Merina clenched her fists before taking several deep breaths.

This Dark Lord was truly one infuriating personality.

But then, she thought of a horrifying possibility.

Merina: "Are you the servant of King of Black?"

Dark Lord: "Never heard of him. Who would that be?"

Merina: "The enemy of all deities, the one whose coming has been dreaded for eons. Lord Solaris's equal and destined arch-nemesis…the king who shall not be born but made…He is the one being whose emergence must be prevented at all cost."

Dark Lord: "Prevented, you say?"

Merina: "Indeed. I was born a deity, and when we were young, we were told tales that when the King of Black comes, he will destroy everything the gods stood for and bring about an unprecedented change upon the realm. He embodies chaos and transformation, true opposite of what the gods preach, order and stability"

Dark Lord: "Sounds like a great guy, where can I find him?"

Merina: "King of Black has yet to appear, to which I am thankful"

Dark Lord: "Oh well, that's fine too"

Merina: "Then let me ask you another question. Have you heard the tale of Lucifer?"

Dark Lord: 'Another unfamiliar name…Is this charade or something?'

Merina: "Lucifer…an angel who defied the gods and led a rebellion against them. She united powerful being across different realms in a stand against the gods of our world. Her rebellion ended in failure."

Dark Lord: "A rather sad end to a promising villain"

Merina: "As punishment, Lucifer was dispersed. For a mortal it would be an equivalent of being cut into tiny fragments and being scattered across the different realms. Now, she can never be put back together"

Merina: "I don't suppose you are Lucifer's successor?"

Dark Lord: "Sadly no. I am not following in anyone else's footsteps. In fact, I was not even aware I had a predecessor…That was a pleasant surprise"

Dark Lord: "I guess now would be time for me to ask a question. Could you please tell me about Noiluna?"

Merina: "You! How do you know that name?! All the records about her existence should have been erased from the face of this realm!"

Dark Lord: "Doesn't really matter how I know of her, but could you tell me a little bit about her?"

Merina: "To our kind, she is known as the traitor. It is because of her, we gods, no longer can alter the fates of non-humans and demon-kind. We can see their fate just fine, but the books of fate designated to non-humans and demons have been destroyed by Noiluna. Without those books in the archives of Goddess of Fate, we can no longer alter the fates of non-humans and demons"

Merina: "Why do you think gods have to rely on heroes to exterminate the demon-kind? It is because we have no authority in their fates. I wish we could snap our fingers and make demons fade into nothing, but that is no longer possible. All thanks to Noiluna."

Dark Lord: "And what exactly happened to this goddess? Is she still around?"

Merina: "No. She was defeated with the combined forces of Lord Solaris, Lord Michael, and Lady Chronos, and is currently sealed away within the netherworld"

Dark Lord: 'At least what she said matches up with the information Arin gave me…'

Merina: "Regardless, now you understand. The authority of the gods is supreme. Nothing can defy it"

Dark Lord: "I beg to differ. As far as I can see, gods are not about making the stories that have happy ends, but rather about having a complete control over the stories, and the fact that I am altering them is usurping their authority. Pretty spot on, I believe"

Merina: "Not even close! You are an out of control variable! The one character in the story that is not acting by the plan set by gods and is altering the events into something else entirely!"

Dark Lord: "You sound rather mature for a goddess; afraid can't say the same thing about a certain goddess of time…"

Merina: 'I am well aware Lady Chronos is a complete brat, but she is still my superior. Why did she make such a huge mistake? Note even thinking about the consequences of her actions, yep, sounds just like her allright. As petty as ever….'

Merina: 'Cursing someone like him who lacks fate and can cause so much damage with his presence alone…Something does not feel right…Almost like I am missing a part of whole picture….Could it be… She is being manipulated! But who? Who could be devious enough to make a primary Goddess make such a colossal lapse in judgment? No, more importantly, for what purpose?'

Merina: "Yes, her act of cursing you truly is a disproportionate punishment for frankly childish reasons. But I do believe there is a way to rectify it"

Dark Lord: "?"

Merina: "I can request Lord Solaris to remove the curse from your body. You may have been cursed by a Primary Goddess, but the nature of the curse is that of a Primordial Origin."

Merina: "Chronos became a primary goddess after her father Yakit, the Primordial God of Time had passed on his mantle to her. Only the ones who possess the power of a Primordial Deity can remove your curse"

Dark Lord: "I thought Solaris was a Primary Deity"

Merina: "He is, but he has also slain Tiri, the Primordial Goddess of Life, and absorbed her power. As such, aside from Chronos, Solaris is the only one who can burn away the curse upon your soul and free you without killing you"

Dark Lord: "You seem to be under a misunderstanding, my lady. I am not seeking to remove my curse. In fact, what I intend to do is just the opposite"

The atmosphere within the room instantly changed.

Merina: "I can easily kill you right now"

The air around her started to radiate with unimaginable power.

Even if she was Secondary, she was still a deity.

Merina: "Even if you escape, I will report you to Lord Solaris"

Dark Lord: "Splendid resolve. But what if this meeting never happened in the first place?"

While telling her his tale, he made sure to omit a certain critical fact - what his curse actually does.

Merina: "What do you…!!!"

With a single motion, he drew his crystal dagger and sliced his throat.

As Merina screamed in fear and frustration, Dark Lord's motionless corpse lay on the ground, covering the carpet in crimson blood.

Dark Lord: "Now that went much better than expected. A very informative meeting indeed"

He was back in the Sevilles mansion, looking out the window, with a single glass of wine in hand.

It was nighttime, and the moon looked more beautiful than ever.

Dark Lord: "I am sure glad that goddess was a bit of a blabbermouth, he he ha…"

Dark Lord: "I had the my fair share of fun talking, but I suppose it is time to take action"

After he ended up in the realm of the Death, Nur became servant of the Angel of Death. Unlike what he hoped, this was by far not the end of his journey, but just the beginning.
