Those three words are the ones he told me as he extends his hand to me- smiling, in front of the large silver mirror that doesn't host his reflection, but instead was like a doorway.

He looked as beautiful as the rose in glass case. Like a doll- and a bishounen from my collection of mangas at home. He wore with him a peculiar school uniform, and bears a hand fan with him.

I took his hand. And slowly, we enter the mirror.

Through the looking glass, I saw myself a world unlike any other, where childhood stories came to life.

I heard him hum.

"Shall we go?"

As I sat in front of my large gold mirror, Flora twisting my hair into a semi-braided up-do, I had only one thought in my mind. It's terrible. 
Flora, with her hands that can create miracles, made me into a Goddess. After scrubbing me clean for twenty minutes, my skin had a healthy pink glow to it, and I smelled of lilies and gardenia flowers. I wore a floor length dress made of purple lace and silk, which hung loosely on my petite frame, clinging where it mattered most and only exposing my sides and an occasional peek of my legs. It was adorned with silver beading on the shoulders, and my family crest in the shape of a figure eight hung around my neck. Flora was currently wrestling with my unruly tresses of wavy black hair, pinning one braid on each side of my head, and letting the rest fall over my shoulders freely. In the mirror was a rare beauty, looking as though she walked straight out of some folk legend. Like I said, it's terrible. I sighed. 
"You have outdone yourself today, Flora. I'm sure my mother will flaunt me around the feast like a prized hen when we arrive," I said, shuddering at the thought. Flora chuckled, admiring her work in the mirror. 
"Oh, Miss, I cannot understand why you insist on wearing those loose pants and shirts! Look, you are so beautiful! I am sure Prince Alexander will not be able to take his eyes off you the entire night!" She exclaimed. 
"Don't," I said, raising my hand to stop her. "I would prefer it if he never knew I was even in attendance tonight."
I had not seen Prince Alexander in ten years. He was sent off to some school in the mountains, presumably to learn about ruling a kingdom. Not that my impression of him was very good to start with. He used to run around the palace, chasing me with plums when we were little. I hated plums, and I still have nightmares of returning home at night crying, drenched in plum juice after having them thrown at me nonstop all day. Needless to say, I wasn't sad when he left. 
Slipping on my silver colored sandals, I walked out of my room to meet my family at the front gate. I could only hope that tonight would go by fast, and I could go back to living my carefree life undisturbed. 
As usual, I wasn't going to be so lucky.

Philosophical Question: Is a dragon's personality such as it is because we are dragons, or are we dragons because of our personalities? 

I've been possessed of what you'd call a dragon-like personality for as long as I can remember. Also for as long as I can remember, I've been a sort of human lightning rod. Not a single electrical storm has ever passed by that hasn't tossed at least one bolt in my general direction; almost as if something were taking potshots at me. 

For some reason it never really bothered me; maybe even raised my spirits a bit that Something considered me worth such spectacular effort. Never could aim worth a damn, though. . . .
Things changed for some reason when I got assigned to the tropics. Scarcely a day had passed since my arrival in Central America before an incredible storm just about succeeded in demolishing the building I was billeted in. 
A week passed, and it seemed there wasn't a day that a tree didn't get blown to smithereens in my vicinity. The night the hangar I was working in was struck five times, I realized this was getting serious. Was that old Something getting frustrated? Or was it because the storms down here were so much stronger? 

After another week or so of scarred roofs and decapitated palm trees the game finally ended. In the far corner of my room, the westward-facing window has a hole in it; about the size that a .30-caliber round would make, save with melted edges and a dribble of congealed slag. It's right beside my bed, which I was sleeping in the night twelve months ago when my world went blue-white. 

Has it really only been a year since this madness began?

It's a hell of a way to wake up. The bolt hit the window frame squarely, then spat through vaporizing metal to catch me broadside as I slept. I awoke to a sound so loud I couldn't hear it, and a light so bright it threatened to burn my eyes out. Every muscle in me was trying to tear itself apart. 

The pain was so great I couldn't even scream. 

It lasted maybe two seconds . . . or maybe two eternities. But the sizzling blue-white arc finally winked out, to let me flop bonelessly back down onto the mattress. I lay there for I don't know how long; my body was a classic study in pain, my heart a searing fist of agony in the center of it all. 
I think I almost died that night, but finally the knot in the center of my chest loosened and began beating again, and my lungs drew in a shuddering gulp of air. I drifted in and out for awhile, my body draped across the bed, my head lolling over one side. Finally the agony washing across me subsided enough that I could think about moving. Panting with the pain, I slowly dragged my wrenched body off the bed and onto the floor. I lay there for a moment, fighting a sickening surge of vertigo, then began to crawl for the door. It was a long trip: Every muscle in my body was screaming obscenities at me, yet my skin felt strangely numb as I crawled. A thin tinkling noise was beginning to penetrate the ringing in my ears. There was a weird fisheye distortion to everything, and my point of view seemed too high off the floor. 

More and more messages from my body began to penetrate the haze surrounding me, every last one of them unutterably wrong. I wasn't on hands and knees; I was on all fours. That tinkling noise was getting louder and deeper. And there were other things. Lots of other things. 
There's a dresser about halfway to the door of my room, and on top of it sits a large mirror. By the time I got that far I was shaking all over. I already had a pretty good idea what I'd see when I turned to look in that mirror, but that didn't stop me from scaring myself half to death. 

I recoiled violently, hissing, heavy jaws dropping open to bare long, carnivorous teeth, wings half-spreading defensively. The muscles in my massive hind legs bunched, tensing for either fight or flight while my serpentine tail lashed in agitation.
I crouched there, panting with fear and confusion, staring up into the glass at the reptilian nightmare that cowered there. It took a long time for me to calm down, but finally, slowly, I managed to gather the courage to rear back on my haunches and prop my forefeet on the edge of the dresser. 

I studied the apparition in the mirror. Golden cat's eyes stared back at me, set within a reptilian skull armored with bluish silver-grey plates of what looked like carbon-steel. Scales of the same metallic color feathered the jowls, then swept down the neck and body, becoming larger and thicker as they went. A thicket of razor sharp spines started on the forehead and ran protectively along the entire length of the backbone to the tip of the long tail. 

Starting just forward of the crown, then running back perhaps half the length of the long neck there grew what appeared to be a thick horse's mane composed of long strands of the same metallic substance as the scales. It made strange tinkling sounds at any movement; like steel wind chimes. 
To either side of the neck's muscular base bulged the double shoulders, from which sprouted both the huge silvery wings and the slender forelegs. Those armored forelegs were surprisingly human; and the hands, though thinner and armed with long, wickedly curved talons, were still hands. 
The wings were enormous. Long, narrow struts buttressed vast webs of thin, silver-gray skin that stretched between those struts to the flanks of the reptilian body; running its length from double shoulders through the loins. From the tip of each strut and from the vestigial thumb there protruded a long, sharp talon. Cable-thick tendons ran down the limbs and swelled out into huge bands of pectoral muscle that swathed the barrel chest and anchored at the massive, birdlike breastbone. Past the ribs, the waist thick and sturdy with sculpted muscle, then out into the powerful, catlike hind legs, their heavy talons gouging the tile floor. Finally, the body ended in a sinuous, spined tail. 

I looked up again at the face in the mirror, and stared into the eyes. A long, black forked tongue (my tongue) slid smoothly from between the heavy jaws (my jaws) to lick at nonexistent lips. 
I heaved a sigh, then for the first time really looked down at myself. It was me, all right. I lifted my right foreleg and stared at my hand, flexed my murderous talons. 

Okay, hotshot, now what? 

I couldn't come up with an answer to that, so I spent awhile examining my new self; running my hands over my smooth scales, feeling my wings, fingering the mane.
Strange sensations were beginning to run through me as I explored. The last of the pain was fading, rapidly being replaced with odd feelings of comfort and familiarity, which didn't make any sense at all. My new appendages, my wings and tail, should have been useless to me, or, at best, clumsy as a baby's limbs. I should not have been able to flex and move them with such power and grace, and yet I did.
 
My wings were like a second set of hands, huge and distorted, but hands nonetheless. I unfurled them slightly, flexed individual finger-struts. I coiled and uncoiled my powerful tail. It felt strangely pleasurable to move my new limbs, and also increasingly natural. 
Shock had saved my sanity at first, then had been supplanted by curiosity. That in turn was now being rapidly replaced by a tremulous feeling of hope as I studied my wings, then my tendons and massive pectorals, and finally my heavy breastbone. Slowly, an old, dead dream began to resurrect itself. 

Y'know, this stuff just might actually work!

Fear and confusion were instantly forgotten as I bounded back to my window. My talons scrabbled at the frame, then threw up the sash and I hopped up onto the sill. I peered out into the wild night. The storm that had transformed me was still raging, lashing the base and surrounding jungle with huge whips of lightning, the rain coming down in torrents that made even breathing difficult. Nobody in their right mind would be out in a night like this. 

Perfect. 

I glanced down at the three-story drop yawning in front of me, then fully unfurled my lovely wings and stared at them. If this didn't work, I was going to be one hurtin' lizard. 
Screw it. I launched myself forward. I felt my wings instantly cut upwards, then my pectorals contracted and the ground sank silently away. It was that easy. I was right about my wings being huge hands, for I felt them scoop up the wind and trap its power within their vast webs, ruthlessly enslaving it. 

And I flew. My God, I actually flew.

Micheal is introduced to a dragon form and eventually a whole other reality after being hit by lightning during a summer thunderstorm.


IT TOOK LITTLE TIME TO finish getting ready. Elena dressed in the garments specially created for this particular ritual. The long wide sleeves of the fitted ankle length navy tunic had certain crystals melded within the fabric to aid the rite; even the silk pants she wore beneath the tunic had crystals. It added unexpected weight to the garments.
Drying her wet hair with a thought, Elena bound her hair back with a length of black silk, tying it down so not a single strand escaped. She called for Aldeern to enter. The solemn expression Aldeern always wore didn't flicker at her appearance, nor at the items she asked him to carry. He picked the blanketed mirror up as though it weighed nothing and slung the sack of wrapped crystals over his shoulder. They left the room, walking to the closest turret and made their way down the stairs to the ground floor. The long corridors were dim and soldiers stood at every entrance way, making sure no one wandered about. Leading the way to the library, Elena extended a hand when they neared it and the huge doors silently swung open. Motioning where she wanted the items placed, Elena walked Aldeern to the door.
'Do not open it unless I specifically say.'
Aldeern nodded and closed the door.
Elena stayed motionless in the dark room, thinking. She'd selected the library in the assumption that if anyone wanted to have a private conversation, they would have had it here. One of the few rooms in the castle where no one would look twice at whoever entered, no matter the time. With the single entrance, it meant no one could sneak in to observe and the heavy bookshelves stocked with books muffled every bit of noise.
Sighing, Elena looked up above the mezzanine level and motioned aside the curtain that concealed the moon window. A thin beam of light from the waning moon shone through, hitting the mirror lying flat on the floor and reflected off around the room. Unwrapping the crystals in her bag, Elena worked her way around the room, directing the light back to the mirror with the flat-faced silver crystals. When the last crystal lined up, its light hitting the mirror, the mirror began to hum.
A sense of dread spread through Elena as she prepared the herbs. If she was correct in her assumption then soon she would know who the Grand Duke Decian had made a deal with. Pressing her lips together, she briskly stirred the herbs in the glass of water, steeling herself for the drift. Traveling into the erhigee in this method felt unpleasant, to say the least. With her tools handy and the small recording crystal ready she stopped stirring, lifting the glass to her lips. Tipping her head back, she forced the foul-tasting concoction down, swallowing hard. It took three gulps to drain the glass. She set it aside then slumped to her knees, the effects of the herbs rushing through her body.
Though her head swum Elena forced her eyes open and reached for the recording device, holding it to her chest until it vibrated. With it aligned to her mind she no longer needed to hold it and let it drop as she tipped over, flopping limp beside the mirror.
She stood in the library, daylight streamed through the windows and around her courtiers gossiped quietly, looking up to the mezzanine level. Elena looked up to see Cat staring down, eyes looking through her to the crowd watching. Cat gravely nodded then disappeared from sight.
No, thought Elena, not then. Stretching her mind through the tangle of memories, she tried to focus on the energy that would surround a moment of intrigue. Good memories rose through the erhigee, thick and cloying. She pushed through them to where they felt to grow thinner, the darkness hard and sharp. A dark splotch of a memory drew close enough for Elena to hear the voices within. 
The library was dark, the glow lamps unlit. Two figures stood in the shadows, voices low but urgent as they argued. Elena pushed further into the memory until the shadows of other memories vanished.
The sharpness of the room threw her for a moment and she swayed. The sensations of a different time always gave her body and mind an unbalanced sensation. Taking a breath as everything steadied out, she finally got a good look at the couple who stood arguing in whispers, oblivious to her presence.
'But if the Sorceress finds out,' Countess Gablia's tan skin looked pale in the thin light, emphasized by her expression, skin taut with fear across her protruding cheekbones, sharp chin receding.
'She won't. Not until it's all done,' the Grand Duke Decian of House Lhr'yne dismissed her concerns, pivoting away. He paced the room, walking to where Elena stood observing. She glared into his face as he stared through her, eyes unseeing. The Grand Duke's jaw jutted to the side, his mud coloured eyes darting back and forth while he muttered under his breath, debating the risk. The jerky movements made his thick beard look like the pelt of an angry hapoht, a small water mammal with dense ruddy fur known for its aggressive nature.
'I wish Mazit were here,' Countess Gablia said in a pitiful tone, a tone more suitable to a spoiled child not a respectable woman in her late sixties.
'When this is sorted, she will be. The Sorceress had no right to place her under house arrest!' His voice rose past an angry whisper. Elena lifted an eyebrow, amused but not surprised at Mazit's dramatization of the actual events. Before the Countess could respond another voice spoke.
'There is no need to worry about the Duchess Mazit,' Yakov smiled pleasantly at the pair. 'She is in good hands.'
Even with the thick cloying scent of the erhigee clogging her mind Elena stilled, feeling her heart beat a slow steady pace.
Why is he here, did he spot them, did he realize they were up to something, she thought, desperate to reassure herself as a lingering dread spread throughout her drugged limbs.
Yakov seemed different somehow, his usual calm, easy going demeanour gone. He walked further into the room with an unfamiliar stride, almost a swagger.
'Where is she?' the Duke demanded in a tone of urgency.
Yakov glanced at him. 'Mazit?'
'Your mistress!' the Duke hissed, face flushing as he drew himself to his full height. 'I want this agreement confirmed now!'
Yakov's eyes subtly shifted, a look Elena did know. It didn't improve her trepidation.
'But of course,' he smiled slowly, eyes hard though the nervous Duke appeared oblivious to it. Reaching into his pocket he withdrew an item, shattering Elena's heart.
With a flick Yakov tossed the small round mirror out into the room. It halted in the midst of the three of them, hovering at chest height as though caught by an invisible figure. In mid-air the mirror started to spin, catching the slivers of light in the room until it looked like a silver sphere of pulsing light. A shimmer from within the ball of light slowly extended then with a flash a cloaked figure stood before them. The Duke and Countess both paled, falling to their knees with their heads bowed.
Though her body lay on the floor in reality, stuck in the memory Elena felt her knees turn to water. She couldn't take her eyes off Jenviet's eerily beautiful face as she sunk to the ground, her chest so heavy breathing hurt.
The sensation of betrayal wasn't a new experience, but such a betrayal.
The erhigee responded to her energy and the memory before her changed pace, playing out in slow motion, each word puncturing her mind.
'My Lord Yakov, what a pleasant interruption,' Jenviet's rose bud lips spread, her eyes coy. She arched a pale eyebrow at the two bowed before her. 'The Grand Duke of House Lhr'yne and the lovely Countess Gablia. What a pleasure. Are you here to betray all those near to you?'
The Countess blanched, but the Duke didn't bat an eyelid. Lifting his head to meet Jenviet's eyes he then inclined his head in another bow.
'We are here to swear our allegiance to your cause, to support your rise to the throne of Gar'nyse! To serve you in our rule of Elion.'
Standing behind the two, staring over their heads' eyes locked on hers, Yakov smiled at Jenviet. The cruel delight in his expression took Elena's breath away.
Idiots, she thought in despair; you idiots, what have you done?
After they swore the oath Jenviet spread her hands in a benevolent gesture, smiling sweetly. Her white eyes glowed as she declared, 'The marriage between the Countess Stranson and the Grand Duke of Qua'tai will proceed. Leave now. I have business to discuss with my Lord Yakov.'

Skinning pain came like a tsunami. Zeruna had mentally prepared. This Race Evolution brought a huge change for her's genes and cells. 
She could not contain the pain running through her body through every single cell of her body is flooded with a silver agent. She clenched her teeth tightly, and masses of veins bulged on her face and wiggled like snakes. Her eyes were filled with red; all the blood vessels in her eyes had exploded. The silver agents came from the Void Genes was emitting a gray light all over her body gray lines extended out from it, spreading all over Zeruna's face and very soon her entire body. The silver Agent was changing all of her cells.
Buzz!
The tremendous energy in her body could not be controlled anymore. Electric sparkles turned into dozens of lightning whips and danced madly. The air was filled with a burnt smell, and the floor was burnt black.
Zeruna suddenly opened her mouth and spat out red blood, which was emitting bubbles as if it was boiling. It turned into a violet color at a visible rate.
The pain this time lasted longer..... Void Hunter could almost be considered as a completely different life form, so the change was drastic. This was indeed the special evolution path given by the Void Genes. Whether in turns of Race Specialty or future potential, this was the best choice.
She grit her teeth tightly as the pain in her body started to increase with every second because her cells are rapid changing ...from before to that of Void Hunter.
Zeruna looked like she had been fished out from the sea of blood. During the last period, it was not the sweat that came out of her pores anymore but human blood. All of her blood had been replaced.
There aren't any horns growing but she could feel a small tail growing on her back. And its length started to increase with every minute.
She struggled to keep her consciousness even with all pain she was suffering for her Evolution to finish.
All the excess vitality stored in the Goldfinger was released by Aura to decrease the pain Zeruna was suffering. Cool energy started to spread throughout her body moisturizing her cells.
The pain only gradually faded after a long time. However, inside her body, her bones, muscles, and organ structures had completely changed; it was many times more complicated than a human structure.
"Aura use the healing card." She was unable to hold any more of the pain she was suffering.

Zeruna took out a mirror and looked at herself A beauty that's hard to resist and has the charismatic aurora of sizzling temptation. Luckily, her body was still in human shape, But the only change is she looked mostly human, but her hands looked human, except for these retractable silver talons. She flexed her talons and watched the way they slid in and out of her finger
"There isn't enough room inside my fingers to hide a talon that long. Ha, I have magical fingers."
"Literally. I would need to be careful, accidentally extending one inside a lover wouldn't be pretty."
She cupped her breasts with a smile. Big enough to attract the eyes, without being big that they would constantly be in the way just like how they are before. "I wondered if my tail counterbalanced my breasts." She turned around and took a long look at the reflection of her butt which now has a long but a slender prehensile tail.
"I think my body measurements look exactly like one of my favorite and very sexy 'Emily Seras' who was one of the famous Playboy magazines of my previous life. Now I have such a sexy body... seriously." She couldn't stop thinking of doing naughty things with her body.
A smile curved her lips as she watched her tail, twitching idly back and forth. She wrapped it around her waist a few times and stroked a hand gently down its length. "Ahaa...❤️" A shiver runs through her body "Fuck...The end of my tail is an erotic zone! It wasn't as sensitive as earlier. Perhaps it only works that way during sex?"
Her eyes have a controllable new organ used to sense the Void Vision. Her skin was whiter than before, and he gave off a mysterious vibe.
Then Zeruna looked at the new skills she got from all of which [Void Travel] was the core ability.
"Let me try to see how it feels."
The world before her eyes changed. Everything became foggy like she was observing reality through a layer of translucent material. This was the Void Vision; she entered a mirror dimension that reflected a reality where time passed at a different speed. When Zeruna moved, the real world was basically still, but she could not influence reality in any way and would only go through physical objects. The two dimensions were like mirrors that were placed tightly against each other; they could not interfere with each other. It was like a stealth mode that allowed free movement.
[Void Travel] had no duration limit but continuously cost a large amount of her energy during its duration.
Zeruna walked from one corner of the cave to another, counted a few seconds in her head then deactivated this ability and returned to reality. She looked at her Sky Drive; almost no time had passed.
"Such a magical life form."
As for the other two Race Specialties, as the name suggested, Void Mirror Image could generate a mirror image without any combat ability used to confuse the enemy, and Void Shadow was an ability to summon a Void Shadows maximum 5 at any given time. The shadow had the characteristics of a shadow—it would not be wounded, could not attack, and moved extremely fast. It could be used to scout or disrupt the enemy's vision. These two Race Specialties also cost a large amount of energy.

"Where does everything gone wrong?! "

Emily standing in front of the mirror with a knife in her right hand... Blood dripping from the knife down to the floor.... 

On the verge of crying she looked down to see a man dead on the floor with blood pooled around.... 

"No.. No.. I'm sorry i didn't meant to kill you!! " 

Her tears dripped down her cheeks coated with the droplets of blood....
