Hey guys! Updating another chapter, because I really want to start the action! I've decided to stick with calling him Conan instead of switching off the names between Conan and Jimmy/Shinichi. It's just easier that way. To my first review, thank you so much for the review and suggestion! The gears are still turning in my head for this story, and I'll definitely consider it. I haven't fully decided on what to do in the next chapter yet, to either have him stay in Marineford, or escape. Either way, he meets Ace. And sorry if Coby and Helemppo are a bit out of character, they don't appear much in the anime or manga, so I tried my best. Thanks a bunch and enjoy!

"Excuse me, Mr. Edogawa?" Conan woke with a start to a voice. Glancing at the entrance of the cell, he saw two fairly young looking soldiers. One had an x-shaped scar above his right eye, had pink hair, tall, thin, and seemed to be about seventeen. The other one was blond, thin tall, had an odd assortment of colors for a navy officer compared to his partner, and had a black sun glass band that hid his eyes, he looked meaner and older of the two. "It's 01600 hours; we've come to get you for breakfast. Conan sighed, and got up and went to the cell. The two men entered and cuffed him, and then lead him out into the normal hallway of the Naval base. "My name is Coby, and this is my friend, Helmeppo, he and I will be your guards during your stay here."

"Coby, don't be too friendly with the prisoner." Conan guessed right, the blond one was meaner. The blond man glared down at the young detective. "Here are the rules: you get uncuffed to eat, do research, bathe, and sleep. That's it. We're not your friends, or your baby sitters, you cross us, we punish you. Understand brat?"

Conan blinked, and then remembered what Sengoku said. No one knew who he was except for the people in that office, so these two probably thought he was some pirate prodigy or something. Conan made a mental note to ask what the cover up story about him was later. Nodding smartly, he replied. "Understood, sir."

"Good." Helmeppo grunted in approval. "Come. You're on a tight schedule, brat." Tugging at the chain, Conan followed behind the two marines. "Can't believe that Granny assigned us this. I mean, we're under Vice-Admiral Garp's command! We shouldn't have to do this shit!" Conan's ears perked at the mention of an old woman, it could be Tsuru.

"I know, but Vice-Admiral Tsuru specifically asked Vice-Admiral Garp for us, this is a real honor for us, yah know; to be trusted with something like this." Coby reasoned. Conan's suspicions were confirmed, Tsuru asked for guards she trusted not to hurt him, but the question was, how much did she tell them?

Helmeppo snorted and turned abruptly to Conan, making the young detective jump slightly. "What are you staring at boy?"

"N-Nothing!" Conan quickly replied. "It's just, you guys were talking about me, and I was wondering what the others were saying about me?" He smiled innocently.

"Why does that matter?" The strict guard raised a brow.

"I'm a kid. Aren't I allowed to be curious when someone talks about me? After all, you get curious when people talk about you, don't you?" Conan couldn't help but smirk a little. Helmeppo stopped short, causing Coby and Conan to stop as well.

He glared and raised his hand. "Why you…" He brought his hand down, but Coby stopped him at the last second.

"Helmeppo! Control yourself!" Coby glared shoving Helmeppo's arm back a little. "It's as Tsuru said; this boy was raised by terrorist pirates specifically plotting to destroy the Navy. It's not the boy's fault he has no manners, and that's why we have to help him. As his guards, it's our duty to start his recovery into normal life." Coby knelt down and gave a sad look to Conan, petting his head slightly. It annoyed the little boy, but the detective was more surprised by the pink-haired boy's kindness. "Don't worry. You're safe now, those pirates won't hurt you anymore." Coby smiled and stood back up. "Helmeppo's just an unfriendly person, it takes him awhile to warm up to people, so don't worry, he'll get used to you."

"Thanks…Mr. Coby." Conan nodded tamely.

"Good." Coby smiled and turned back around as did his partner. "Let's get to breakfast, you're probably hungry." Helmeppo grumbled something inaudible, and the three started walking again, introducing the life of the Navy to Conan Edogawa.

At Breakfast

If there was one thing Conan could count on here, it was good food. The breakfast they served him was incredible! Scrambled eggs, toast, and bacon; he was used to having a glass of milk and cereal on account of: he couldn't cook himself, Rachel was too busy to shop most of the time, and a starving stray dog wouldn't eat Mr. Moore's cooking. The detective knew he most likely was given special treatment because they wanted his brain in proper working order, so he had to be careful. He noticed the Coby and Helmeppo were eating with him too, but passed it off as the Navy reassuring him that they weren't going to poison his food until he was no longer useful to them.

"So." Conan turned to Helmeppo. "We heard that you were kidnapped from Fishman island because of your deduction skills, the pirates used you to find treasure and crap, right?"

"Helmeppo!" Coby kicked him under the table harshly. "Don'y be so rude! He's just a kid! Lighten up!" The pink-haired boy smiled politely. "I'm sorry about him, it's just…you came on rather short notice, and we heard a pretty gruesome story from Vice-Admiral Tsuru, so we've been curious to ask about your circumstances for awhile. Is that all right?"

"I guess…" The detective boy nodded. "What do you want to know?" This was his best chance at getting Tsuru's story about him, as well as determining Tsuru and these two to be allies or not.

"First of all…is it true, a pirate crew slaughtered your whole family to get you? It must've been awful." Coby frowned sadly.

"…Yeah…they did." Conan looked down to hide his face. His expression would give away too much, and he needed to act the part of a quivering child anyways. "I don't remember why, though."

"As I asked. It was because you could figure out codes and riddles that would normally be impossible, right? Vice-Admiral Tsuru said you were some history or deduction prodigy or something, The pirates kidnapped you, because the Mayor of your village sold you out or something like that." Helmeppo grunted suspiciously.

"Ah." The fake-child clenched his fists to act as if he was angry. "He hated my family due to their…unconventional ways of living." Conan didn't know what Tsuru said, so he had to be careful what he said here.

"We heard your family contradicted the islands predominant religious beliefs, and that Mayor was starting to ose face because of that. Your family was very brave." Coby smiled reassuringly.

"If he's so good, then why was he at the sight of the attack?" Helmeppo demanded. "It was where Fire-Fist Ace and that Blackbeard-bastard fought!"

'Blackbeard?' Conan blinked at the familiar pirate name, so the infamous pirate captain was in this world too. Then what time period was this compared to his world?

"Helmeppo, that's enough!" Coby sighed. "We'd like to know that, actually. Vice-Admiral Tsuru said that after the fight between Fire-Fist Ace and Blackbeard, you were found drifting along the island's edge on a large piece of drift wood. The pirate crew that kidnapped you, had been wiped out because of the immense collateral damage from the fight. The whole island was destroyed in that fight, everyone in the island's vicinity died, how did you survive?"

Conan was starting to get a little freaked from what he was hearing. An island got destroyed from collateral damage? Just what kind of universe is this? Quickly making up a story, he replied. "…After I lead them to the island, the captain beat me and then threw me off the ship. I remember grabbing onto a piece of drift wood, and I passed out soon after."

"Checks out with Vice-Admiral Tsuru's story." Helmeppo went back to eating. Conan sweat-dropped. That's why he had been grilled? To see if he was telling the truth? But that also made Conan think. If they were questioning their orders, despite how little they showed it, that meant they didn't fully trust the situation they were in either. Which meant, neither did their superior…Garp-san, they said, right?

"Thank you for sharing with us, Conan-kun." Coby gave an approving smile and went back to eating as well. Conan went back to eating too, seeing as how he only had ten minutes left.

Resaerch begins

Conan was amazed by how big the facility was, it had taken them at least twenty minutes to walk to the library of the giant Naval base, and even after they arrived there, Conan was half-surprise they didn't shove illegal immigration families in here. The library was at least four stories tall, and had entire rows or book and journal entries…for only one topic. Yes- this entire library was a dedicated research archive to One Piece. 'No wonder they're giving me so much time to do research, it's going to take me a few days just memorize what the different sections are.' Conan thought, as his handcuffs were taken off. "We'll be waiting by the entryway." Coby pointed towards the door they used to enter. "Let us know if you need something, the librarian will get you the research materials you need. Good luck!"

"Don't waste our time, brat." Helmeppo snorted and followed Coby.

"Are you Edogawa-kun?" Conan jumped and turned to an attractive blonde woman in a blue tight-fitting uniform, and glasses. The boy nodded dumbly, blushing slightly. "My name is Trish Imora, right this way, please." She motioned towards the elevator, in which Conan followed. Going to the second floor, he followed her down the random aisles of books, until they reached a study-lounge area of the floor. There was a meeting table, and several chairs surrounding it. On the table, were rather tall stacks of books. Conan guessed, that was what he had to get started on. "Good luck on your research; by finding One Piece, you will be repenting for the sins you've been forced to commit. Relish the opportunity."

"Yes ma'm, thank you." Conan sat down. 'I wonder what she thinks I'm researching.' Conan knew that her eavesdropping was unlikely; places like this had harsh punishment for any form of insubordination. She most likely was just following her orders and nothing more, but it was also best to be careful as well. The boy sighed and picked up the first book, The Autobiography of Gol D. Roger. Frowning, Conan looked at the title of the second book: Chronicles of Gol. D. Roger. Deciding to see if his theory was right, he dug through the stack of books for any other titles that didn't have Gol. D. Roger. He sighed when he finally found a book that didn't have Roger's name, but this just made him frown more. The Grand Line: How it became the Pirate's grave yard, Conan raised a brow, from Tsuru's explanation, the Grand Line was just a natural geographic feature of this universe. Perhaps he put too much stock in the title.

Walking up to the librarian, he asked. "Do you have any books on the Grand Line, it's most popular routes, I mean?"

"I'm sorry, dear. But my orders were to make sure you used you study time to analyze those books on the table." Conan's eyes widened at what she said, and the woman's voice suddenly started to become poison. "If you don't finish by lunch, know that a course of discipline will be in place. Please follow the schedule of studies during your stay here. You are not permitted to research anything else or in any other order. Is that clear?"

"Crystal." Conan nodded, clenching his fists.

"Good." She ushered him back to his seat. "Please get started. The clock's ticking."

Lunch

Conan ate his sandwich silently while Coby and Helmeppo chatted. This was very disturbing, he knew that these people were desperate in going through all this trouble to kidnap him, but they were literally watching every move he made. They were even air-locking the research he could do, which made him extremely suspicious. They only allowed him to research Gol. D. Roger today, and they were only going to allow him to research the books given to him. This information was given to him on a schedule, and they most likely wanted him to make a chronological deduction about where One Piece was hidden and why. In other news, they already knew it wasn't on Raftel, they just had no idea where to look next. This wasn't just about finding a treasure, this was a race; someone was close to finding One Piece. From what he read, everything Tsuru had said about Roger was true. Being the first to Conquer the Grand Line, and consequently became the world's richest man through various treasure hunting excavations, he became King of the Pirates. He also had a lover named Portgas D. Rouge, who had died giving birth to their son, Portgas D. Ace; as he read in the archives he was given to read. He assumed that Roger's son was still alive, otherwise the report would've mentioned otherwise, but it didn't mention anything else about Roger's personal life. Which was strange, considering the amount of fame he had, perhaps pirates just liked their privacy.

"Hey Conan." The boy snapped his head, and realized he had finished eating and was staring at his plate. He turned to Coby, who looked a bit concerned. "You okay?"

"I'm fine. The research was just a bit overwhelming." The detective gave a reassugin smile. "Is lunch over already?" Noticing that the two marines were finished eating as well.

"Yeah." Helmeppo spoke up. "Take your pick: tour, exercise, nap."

After thinking about it, Conan picked. "Tour please."

"Fine. Let's go." Helmeppo and Coby stood up, and cuffed Conan. The detective concluded that if he was a trapped rat, he had to start learning the weak points of his cage.

Tour

After working with idiot police officers over the years in his detective work, Conan learned how to smile and nod to people when needed. He occasionally gave a fake-interested response when Coby or Helmeppo turned to him to make sure he was paying attention. But all the detective could see was a giant fortress with a bunch of little cracks. After being shown the docks, Conan had estimated how long it would take him to run from his cell down to the dock to snake onto a boat; approximately 20-30min if he didn't get caught. There had to be another way out, but it'd be suicide to go out into those waters without a hint of navigation on his side, so hitching a ride was his only option of escape. But even if he did escape, then what? How was he to get home? What would happen to Rachel and the others? He was certain these Navy-bastards were good to their threats.

"COBY! HELMEPPO!" Conan stopped short when the two marines halted, stood straight, and saluted.

"GOOD AFTERNOON GARP-TAICHO!" They said at the same time.

"At ease men, I'm out for a stroll myself." He grinned but frowned when he noticed the boy in chains. "Eh? Who are you?"

"Sir! That Conan Edogawa! Quarantined prisoner who is recovering from post traumatic stress disorder!" Coby answered quickly.

"PTSD victim? Why's he in chains?" Garp raised a brow.

"We were given orders to have this inmate under lock unless if he is to eat, research, exercise, sleep, and bathe. Due to his mental instability it is suspected that he might know of a terror plot setup by the now-dead Bare-Knuckle Pirates!" Helmeppo answered.

"Really?" Garp didn't buy it at all, Conan could tell. Garp walked past his two marines and knelt down to Conan's level, who was still put off by his massive height. In his world, pro-wrestler's weren't that big. "My name's Monkey D. Garp, kid. Vice-Admiral of Navy; I'll beat some sense into Sengoku for imprisoning a kid. Honestly, he takes rules way too seriously." Garp stood up and waved cheerfully to his men. "Well…I'm off. There's paper work to do, and I've got to hide." The three younger males sweat-dropped, not expecting anything else.

"Let's go. We don't have much time left." Conan nodded and followed Helmeppo and Coby. Hat was interesting, a Vice-Admiral knew nothing about this, yet he was the Fleet Admiral's friend? Very interesting indeed…

Afternoon Research

Conan glared at the materials in front of him. As he thought, there were no longer books on Gol. D. Roger available for him to research, now it was all about the Grand Line. Conan sighed; this was no way to solve a case. Shoving a bunch of facts in front of him, doesn't tell him anything except that you're disorganized. Not only were they pushing him to solve the case, they wanted to see how good his memory was too. They were keeping him on a straight and narrow line with no room to research anything else, Conan assumed there was a lot of dirt under the rug, it was all about finding it, though. He smirked, he had an idea.

Dinner

Even though he was pissed, Conan could get used to this luxury way of living. Lobster with clam chowder and asparagus for dinner! In his world, this would cost a fortune, if this was there way of bribery, then bring on the bacon!

Bath time

He was relieved he had privacy here.

After Bath

Being provided with pajamas by the Navy, Conan was almost done with his first day. "What would you like to do, Conan? Star-gaze or research?" Coby asked.

"Star gaze." Conan replied dryly. He read 16 books in the course of 8-9 hours, he needed a break.

"Come on then." Helmeppo grumpily lead them up to the observatory. From the stairway, Conan observed the actual size of Marineford, as well as its layout. He inwardly smirked, plans already forming in his mind of escape, he'd start tonight.

"They're beautiful, huh?" The detective looked to Coby who smiled happily at the stars. "That's one of the best things about the Navy, we keep things peaceful so everyone can look at the stars."

"You think so, huh?" Conan managed not to snort.

"I know so!" He smiled in affirmation, clenching a fist for emphasis.

"That's what the Nav'y about." Conan turned to Helemppo. "Maintaining order and 'Absolute Justice'.

'Absolute Justice?' Conan pondered, but then remembered something. When he first came here, there was a sign in the Fleet Admiral's office that said Absolute Justice! It's not just a phrase, that's their motto. The young detective narrowed his eyes, he just found a spec of Navy's dirt!

After thoroughly accepting its fate as a dog, it could be said that Loopy Toad had assimilated further into modern cultivation life, and since No. 60 High School, had gradually integrated into the Wang family. The old man only knew that Loopy Toad used to be a demon king, and had never brought up its original identity.
Anyone would be curious, but the old man was keenly aware that as a former demon king, Loopy Toad also had its pride.
The past was the past; now, he just treated Loopy Toad as a member of the Wang family. It was enough for him to know that it was a loyal dog.
Therefore, the person Loopy Toad was the closest to in the Wang family after Little Master Ling was Grandfather Wang.
Teacher Pan had borrowed Loopy Toad for a few days for the military training. It appeared to have lost a lot of weight, which made the old man's heart ache just looking at it. Actually, it wasn't that Loopy Toad had gotten thinner, but that it now had a far more refined-looking body after advancing in its cultivation, creating the mistaken impression that it looked "thin."
But the old man didn't understand any of this. Seeing that Loopy Toad was thinner, he began to rack his brains for nutritious meals to feed it so that it could become "Toad Zhuangshi[1]."
That evening, while Wang Ling had dinner, the old man prepared an additional meal for Loopy Toad. Wang Ling saw the old man spin a ladle familiarly in the kitchen as he smiled at Loopy Toad at his feet. "At my age, how much longer do you think I can live for?"
Loopy Toad suddenly raised its head and looked suspiciously at the old man; it didn't know why he would suddenly bring up this sad topic.
It didn't know any techniques for measuring fate, but it knew how to read faces a little, and it was very certain in its heart that for the old man to live to a ripe old age was definitely not a problem.
"Even if I can live to be ninety, that's less than thirty years away. You are a demon king, and you know how to cultivate. Shouldn't you live longer than me?"
The old man smiled inanely and squatted down to rub Loopy Toad's head. "No matter how long I'll be able to stay with you or who you'll guard the house for in the future, right now, you are my family's dog."
Wang Ling looked at this scene through the doorway.
He saw that Loopy Toad actually had tears in its eyes.

After dinner was when the old man would watch TV.
Based on Mother Wang's recommendation, he had finished watching the entire series of The Story of the True Ring[2]. Then, under Father Wang's careful guidance, he had finally learned how to use the TV's search function, and was able to browse for dramas he was interested in.
The old man had recently been watching a large-scale inspirational youth drama production about cooking called The Verdant and Spicy Years[3]. It told the story of a young chef from a family of chefs who, in his struggles to become a kitchen god, went on a search for the legendary godly onion[4] which was said to be able to bring out the fullest umami flavor of a dish, and he was accompanied by his little sister childhood sweetheart as well as his warmhearted gay friend.
In the quest for this legendary godly onion, these three people experienced countless dangers. In the end, the protagonist's sweetheart sacrificed her own ancestral white water lily to attract the godly onion. It was when the godly onion was sucking the white water lily dry, almost turning it into black fungus, that the protagonist and his gay friend decisively made a move and grabbed the godly onion with an R Flash[5]. In the end, the trio joined forces to become master chefs!
The old man hugged Loopy Toad, one hand stroking its dog fur while he used the other to wipe away his tears.
He had never cried like this before he had watched The Story of the True Ring. Now, he was wholly moved by the protagonist as he struggled on his path toward becoming a kitchen god; it was a story which resonated significantly with the old man.
He couldn't help sighing emotionally in his heart: this, was true damn youth!
Conversely, Loopy Toad was clearly taken aback by the plot of this drama as it stared at the TV blankly.
Loopy Toad gave up on thinking…

When Loopy Toad returned to the room at eight o'clock that evening, it found Little Master Ling cleaning Jingke's sword body.
Cleaning Jingke was very different to cleaning other swords. It couldn't touch water, and it couldn't be rubbed with spirit sand as that would destroy the grain pattern on the sword.
In essence, it was still a peach wood sword, so more care had to be taken with its maintenance.
Wang Ling hadn't cleaned Jingke with such care for a very long time. He had to infuse the spirit earth specially used for cleaning wooden swords with his spirit energy and then cover every inch of Jingke's body with it as if he was applying a facial mask. After the spirit soil was completely dry, he would peel it off little by little.
It seemed very simple, but it was delicate work, so each time Wang Ling cleaned Jingke's body, he looked particularly serious. This was probably the most serious that Loopy Toad had seen him except for when he was studying.
As Loopy Toad stared at Wang Ling in the silence of their surroundings, it somehow started to feel a little sleepy…
Soon, it could no longer keep its eyes open.

At this laugh, Loopy Toad abruptly woke up.
It leapt to its feet as if it had had a nightmare. In front of him, Little Master Ling was still cleaning Jingke's sword body.
It looked at the clock on the wall — it was five minutes past eight o'clock.
This seemingly long and fragmented dream had actually only lasted five minutes.
What the hell was going on?
A few drops of cold sweat ran down Loopy Toad's face — ordinarily, it seldom dreamed while it slept.
… Was this a foreshadowing dream of the toad clan?
Loopy Toad abruptly widened its eyes.
It recalled a legend of the toad clan. Toads were lazy by nature and liked to sleep. They seldom dreamed, so if they did, it was an omen. Though Loopy Toad was a dog now, in essence, it still had the soul of a toad!
But this dream was really too strange.
From beginning to end, it had jumped from scene to scene, and it had featured people Loopy Toad had never seen before… Damn foreshadowing dream, tell me the story clearly! We're not acting out Conan[6], do you have to be so cryptic?
Loopy Toad lay flat on the ground as it pulled at its ears, suddenly feeling its brain hurt. For the time being, in the current situation, its IQ wasn't high enough to solve the riddle of this dream.

"In that store,merong bomb!At ang target talaga ng bomber ay ang mga members ng Behind The Scene!I defuse mo na ang bomb!Bilis!Time is running!"Haru shouted.
"I will sent to you the number of the bomber"I said to Luna.
"Ok!!!!!"she said.Then she ended the call.

Conan who was coming to the diving shop didn't listen to their conversation but he knew that they must have done something suspicious. He decided to follow the car of the treasure hunter silently. He saw that car stopped somewhere and he waited there. He heard a loud sound of the alarm and saw two treasure hunters that he had seen earlier bringing a big bag to their car. 

*BANG!

Suddenly there was a gunshot that was aimed toward them. 

The fat treasure hunter was shot. 

"Hurry up and enter!" Another treasure hunter said. 

They hurriedly escaped from that place and rode their car away from that place. 

Conan looked at the direction of the person who had shot the treasure hunters. He walked to check whether there was the culprit but he didn't find anything. He only found two bullets that were shot earlier and a trail of a bicycle on the damp earth. He took his phone and started to take a picture of the scene. He heard the sound of a police car which was moving toward the Tourism Office and went to that place.

The alarm had made the local become quite panicked. 

Kogorou, who was drinking alcohol in the pub, was startled and went out to check what was happening. He saw a lot of people running until he saw his acquaintances, "Stop! What's happening?" 

"Don't stop me!" Iwanaga said with a panicked expression. 

"Tell me, what happens?" Kogorou didn't care about him. 

Iwanaga sighed and told him that there was something happening in the Tourism Office. 

Kogorou nodded and robbed his bicycle. 

"What are you doing?!" Iwanaga was mad. 

"Hurry up and get on! Or I will leave you!" Kogorou said. 

Iwanaga sighed and got on the back of the bike. 

Both of them started to ride the bicycle together and ignored the hostess of the restaurant who was shouting at them. 

"Stop! Stop! You haven't paid the bill!" The hostess shouted at them. 

A local police officer who was riding his bicycle and wanted to report the results of the fingerprints heard the plea of this aunt, "What's wrong, hostess?" 

"Uehira-chan, someone ran away and didn't pay his bill! Please get him for me!" the hostess said. 

Uehira, who was one of the local police, sighed, "Damn it, not another incident again!"

Conan joined Megure and everyone looked at the display in the Tourist Office which was broken by someone. 

"They broke the display counter using a jimmy. That's bold," Megure said. His phone suddenly rang and he opened it, "How is it, Sato-kun?" 

Sato and Takagi were outside after hearing information from Conan that there was a fight with a gunshot that was happening earlier. 

"Yes, as Conan-kun said, there were gunshots. There are bloodstains at the crime scene," Sato said. 

"I see. Can you maintain the area?" Megure asked. 

"It would be quite difficult to do so," Sato answered and looked at Takagi, who had found the cartridge cases of the bullets from the gunshot earlier. 

"Is that so? Then take a picture of the crime scene and come back here," Megure said. 

Sato nodded, "Okay." 

Megure closed the phone and saw both Iwanaga and Kogorou who were running together toward him. 

Iwanaga was shocked when he saw the thing that had happened in the tourism office, "The cutlass and the pistol were stolen!" 

"Were they worth a lot?" Shiratori asked. 

"They were found inside Seabed Palace, the cutlass of Anne Bonnie and the pistol of Mary Read," Iwanaga said. 

Kogorou was still drunk and looked at the crime scene with half-opened eyes. He hit his chest and said, "Don't worry, I am here. Hick...." 

"..." 

Everyone was speechless when they saw him drunk. 

"Hmm? Mouri-kun, you're red," Megure said. 

"N - No, I am just excited to see everyone," Kogorou didn't want to know that he was drunk. 

Megure wanted to check on him but stopped when he heard a scream. 

"MOURI KOGORU, YOU ARE UNDER ARREST!!!!"

"..." 

"Huh?!" 

"You didn't pay your bill, stole a bicycle, and were drunk driving!" Uehira took out his handcuffs and caught him. 

Kogorou instantly became sobber, "Eh?!" 

Conan sweatdropped at him. 

"Is that true?" Megure asked. 

"Yes," Uehira nodded and said, "He didn't pay his bill in the pub, stole Mr. Iwanaga's bicycle and ran away. That's what the hostess said." 

"I didn't steal his bicycle. He sat right behind me. Right? Right?" Kogorou looked at Iwanaga with a pleading expression. It wouldn't be a joke for him to enter jail and his reputation as the famous detective would be tarnished. 

"Yeah...." Iwanaga was wondering whether this guy was the famous detective. 

"..." Everyone was speechless at him. 

Uehira suddenly remembered something and said, "That's right, Inspector, the results of the matching fingerprints arrived." He took out the result and showed it to him. 

Megure was surprised to see that the treasure hunters were criminals, "Is this true?!" 

Shiratori took out the paper and started to read it, "Matsumoto Mitsushi. He has stolen important cultural artifacts from ruins all over the world. Theft and burglary of works of art, and even murder. He's a big fish."

"So they are international fugitives," Kogorou shook his head. 

"Damn, so they are trying to steal the treasure of Anne and Bony?" Iwanaga was really mad. 

"What do you mean?"

"Is there more treasure beside the stolen cutlass and pistol?" 

Iwanaga realized that he had raised his voice. He felt a bit sorry and said, "Yes, Anne Bonnie and Mary Read were pirates. 300 years ago, they hid their treasure on Koumi Island."

Kogorou was surprised when he heard this information, "Is that true?" 

"Yes, the best evidence is both cutlass and pistols that have been stolen," Iwanaga said. 

Conan smelled something fishy and looked at Kogorou. He smelled something strange from him. 

Kogorou noticed his glance, "Ha?" 

"Uncle, I thought that you were at the pub with beautiful hostesses?" Conan asked. 

Kogorou sighed and crouched down, "Not only was she not beautiful, but she was also an old hag!" He started to complain about the thing that had happened to him earlier. 

Conan could smell something familiar and saw stains of something on his shirt, "You've got something on you, uncle." He touched the stains and knew that he was right, 'I see.' 

"What is this?" Kogorou looked strangely at the stains on his shirt. 

Megure told the local police to tell the local people to be careful that their boats wouldn't be stolen by the group of treasure hunters. 

"Understood!" Uehira said and started his job. 

Conan went to Megure and reported what he had seen on the diving ship. He told them that Matsumoto the treasure hunter was paying the diving ship owner Mabuchi-san.

"What?!" 

Sato and Takagi went back and they received another task from Megure to go to the diving shop the thing that had been told by Conan. 

Megure and Shiratori went to the hotel where the treasure hunters were staying. 

They needed to catch these treasure hunters as soon as possible. 

"W - Wait?! What about the handcuffs on my hands?!" Kogorou complained but no one heard him. 

Conan only shook his head and hoped that the case would be solved as soon as possible.

It was the weekend and I had nothing to do. Swim meet was Monday, so I couldn't go out partying like usual. It was almost sunset and I've done nothing all day in my dorm except watch YouTube videos and surf reddit.
I was looking through text messages to see who I could hit up. Most of the guys on the swim team were secretly partying. None of the girls I've hooked up with interest me. I was scrolling more and saw Sulbi. I decided to hit her up.
Conan:
Hey, what's up? Wanna go on a walk near the lake and grab late night pizza/icecream?

Shortly after, I get a text.

Yeah sure! I'll meet you by the frat houses?

Nice, I'll finally get to meet the girl. It's been a month since the last time we texted. She never reached out to me and my grandma has still been bothering me about meeting her. If anything, I'll just meet a new friend I guess.
I put on my Bates Swim team hoodie, blue baseball cap, and joggers. The frat houses are like a minute by foot, so I take my time and walk out the door. I'm walking toward the parking lot and I see a short girl with short black hair, noticable brown eyes (most Asian girls have dark, near black eyes), and a checkered/gingham dress.
"Hey. I'm Conan, are you Sulbi or Sherry?"
"Hi Conan... Yeah.. You can call me whichever. I don't have a preference," she says shyly.
"Okay, I guess I'll call you Sulbi. I like Korean names. I never got one," I say back. We walk off campus toward the Lake Gotsbi nearby. We talk about school, our family, our Korean culture, and hobbies. She likes to read and write. She's also pretty sweet. She looks at me intently when I talk. You can tell she's really listening even though I don't have much to say or at least not anything important. Then we talk about relationships..
"So... Conan. Have you dated anyone?" Sulbi asks.
"Nah. I get that question a lot from my family and friends. I don't understand why they can't leave me alone about it sometimes... Like can't I enjoy being single?" I say.
"Yeah, I get you. My family, especially my grandparents, ask the same thing. They think just because I'm a petite Asian girl with white skin, I should be attracting a lot of guys. But hey, we're not in Korea anymore and guys here don't like girls like that," she says.
I look at her and think she's pretty though. Her pale skin in contrast with her pink cheeks. Small eyes but glowing due to their golden brown undertone. She dresses well too. Cute.
"Yeah, I mean we have a lot of time. We're only 19," I say.
We watch as the red in the sky disappears into the blue, grey landscape. A duck flutters it's wings and flies off the lake. It's nice. Walking and talking and not talking. I feel comfortable in the silence.
"You hungry at all? We can grab pizza or icecream if you want," I ask.
"I'm not really hungry for pizza or icecream to be honest... do you want to come to my dorm and eat 'Go-re-bap?'" Sulbi asks.
"Oh hell yeah. I love Gorebap. They were my favorite snack in my childhood. I haven't had them in forever because I've become so white haha." I smile at her.

We head to her dorm and we arrive at the all girls dorm, Trez. She unlocks her door with her key and opens it. Her room is filled with artwork. Probably hers. Lots of pastel paintings, flowers, and abstract art.
"Cool artwork. Did you make all of these?" I ask.
"Yeah I did... I'm kind of a hoarder, so most of the paintings are from middle school and high school," she says while leading me to her desk and bed. "You can sit on the bed if you want. It's more comfortable than the chair."
I hop on the bed and adore her artwork. I like the one that's hanging above her head. It has a pastel purple outline on it with white, black, and dark purple flowers. It speaks to me for some reason. The flower are just lonely. The color combo is also interesting.
"What was your motivation behind choosing the colors for this painting?" I ask.
"Oh uhm... They're the colors for the asexual flag in the LGBTQ+ community," she says looking up at me.

 In all of my years working for the Wayne family, it has been very rewarding to me watching the young master grow up and stay by his side. Ever since he was able to walk few months after being born, I noticed his ever growing curiosity toward the world since he likes roaming around the mansion whenever he gets the chance to slip away from the Madam, Milord and my watch. But he slowly stops his exploration towards the mansion when he found out about the huge library within the east side of the property and became the first place he cooped up himself second the gym which is in the opposite side of the mansion from the library but we'll get to that later. It can even be said that he is the youngest genius in history for being able to read and write by the age of 3 years old but he keeps avoiding the lord's request of him taking an IQ (Intelligence Quotient) test which we are guessing if he ever took one will easily surpass above 300 IQ (Einstein = 160-190 IQ) that is almost twice as much as the brightest man known to have created the «E=mC^2 ».

 When he reached 6 years old he was also very adamant on continuing his studies at Midtown High School to be with his childhood friends such as Peter Parker and Harold Osborn that he got acquainted with in kindergarten. It also perplexed us the first time that he is not considering skipping grades with his intelligence and instead study in the best academic facilities available to him due to his status, where he provided very valid point reasoning that he needs to be with his peers to gain friends he can go along with and have a normal social life, instead of being treated as child genius that make his peers distance themselves from him and become arrogant from it which won over the approval of everyone in the family and made his parents more proud of him. Considering his recent activities and the maturity he displays in some occasions we seldom forget treating him as a child that he is. 

 He is also showing great progress in his training and workout sessions with his father that gave him endless joy and pride in his genes that he gave birth to a prodigal son. Not until recently that we received news he got hit by a car while playing with his friends that made the madam pass out of worry and became infuriated because of the action the young master did without thinking even though it was a noble act, that got him grounded for a few months and milord within just a few weeks managed to track down the man responsible for the accident in his rage for trying to run without being held accountable for his actions now put behind bars with a lot of lawsuits. Though while the young master is grounded after the incident he still showed great progress not just in education but also his physical fitness being able to carry 6kg of weight for his age and not suffer any muscle strains and regarding education he manage to finish all his study materials until high school and all books available in the library.

 A year after the incident the madam made me quietly follow the young master in his daily routines like a shadow with all of my skill sets (A/N: Taken movie scene *wink* ;)) and to my shock, I caught him taking out other adults twice his size which can be only described as him trying out his combat abilities to the fullest during his walk going to and from to school. I reported my findings to the madam and she seems not too shocked about it (I guess it's within their blood?) but warned me only to intervene whenever the young master take on an opponent he can't handle. Just recently there was an event that made me question the young master's actions when he helped up an unconscious man wearing suspicious clothes in a back alley within the borders of Hell's Kitchen and Midtown Manhattan where he stayed with him for a couple of hours before running away with great haste, I planned on interrogating the suspicious person on how is he related to the young master but didn't managed to for I still need to follow the madam's order of being a shadow to the young master who I'm about to lose track off because of his haste.

 To my great surprise the young master reached another milestone in his physical prowess after that questionable encounter that delighted the masters of the house. At the young age of 11 years old reaching the «height of 170cm», «weighing 56kg», with a leaned but not bulky build with cuts , matte black hair reaching around the neck, enchanting purple eye color coupled with golden rimmed irises and a light skin tone coming from the African-American gene from his mother and his facial features from the chin to hair with sword shaped eyebrows and lightly squint eye shape from his Asian-American father. Being able to lift around 80 kg and run at 6.7mph (miles per hour) which greatly shocked everyone and have a cause for a huge celebration during Christmas.

"Dear, it's about time we discuss with John regarding our families background I think he is already mature enough to handle it, based on the reports we received from Sebas (the Butler).."『Conan』
Said Conan to his wife worriedly, looking anxious regarding something that has been pressing his mind since his son started exhibiting top off the charts performances for his age.  It's been weeks after the huge surprise Christmas party my parents and the gang threw for me with really warmed my heart in this cold weather and firmed my resolve even more to get stronger to protect what I have. While my parent's and I have plans to watch this upcoming new year's eve «2 Fast 2 Furious» sequel which apparently is a thing in this world too that delighted me for I can enjoy it like a reboot from the one I know of because their cinematic animations and graphic production here are much more advance than Earth-Prime. During my runs around the city I have started gaining in what I could say my notorious vigilante nick name through skirmishes in the back alley with low life thugs such as {Enigma} which I think is kinda awesome cause it reminded me of the hero from one of my favorite game to play in Earth-Prime, a famous online MOBA game called «DOTA 2». According to the rumor they considered me as such for when I take action, no one will even notice me or remember I had even interfered the robbery happening since I just melt in to the shadows after knocking out the thug. I considered it as my own moniker for it applies perfectly to my [Emphatic Mimicry(Black)] that absorbs other powers even though it's more like {Rubick}'s ultimate skill but that guy only copies one skill and more applicable for 『Rogue 』as a hero name and it is kinda girly name too.

 I have also managed to track that healer guy and acquire his [Heal (Blue)] which registered for me in my «Skill» section as [Heal (Black)], as he was located in Chinatown, New York. Didn't take too much doing this quest for I just stalked him in the shadows for a couple hours before acquiring it, and watching through this time made me take a note of including him in the team I'm sorting out for my coming agendas and prevent his gruesome death by dying just for being able to heal others. I managed to find a Chinese antique store that intrigued me after following Healer while he was sorting his business around Chinatown, being reminded of «The Forbidden Kingdom» movie back in Earth-Prime that made my blood boil for maybe I'll also gain the same fortune since I'm already in Marvel universe anything can happen, nothing ventured nothing gained, am I right? 

 Coming inside the store I saw a lot of items that rekindled my memories related to Chinese novels such as «Against the Gods», «I Shall Seal the Heavens», etc… Most items were like talismans, cauldrons, and other feng shui related items though I didn't get an enchanted item like Sun Wukong's staff from the movies I gained an encounter with a great Master in Martial Arts that made me froze on the spot nearly embarrassing myself in front of him after looking at the guy in the counter from head-to-toe who is managing the shop as he introduced himself.

"Welcome to the Dragon Antique Store, my name is Shang Chi the owner and clerk of this store. Just tell me what you are looking for and I'll help you to the best of my abilities" 『Shang Chi 』

Greeted Shang Chi to me while doing a palm-fist in front of his chest. It's SHANG CHI for fuck's sake!!! The Bruce Lee of Marvel Universe and one of the Peak humans that is able to go toe-to-toe with a {Metahuman} with just his pure skills. Seeing my frozen geek look made him look at me weirdly and is considering of throwing me out of the store if I don't speak soon causing me to stutter and instantly kowtowing in front of him doing the master-disciple ceremony so I can seal the deal and learn all his skills.

"P-p-please a-accept I, Markly John Wayne, as your disciple MASTER!" 『John 』

 Shocked by the sudden kowtow in front of him, Shang Chi had a small frown on his face while slowly helping up the customer right in front of him inquiring of his reasoning on the sudden action taken by the young man.

"Please, stand up. I think you have the wrong guy and I'm just a store clerk for this store I have nothing I know of that I can teach you." 『Shang Chi 』

"No, I'm not mistaken Master. I know I found the right person. Please take me as your disciple." 『John 』

Retorted John as he quickly kowtowed again in front of Shang Chi while his brain is running on full speed on how not to scare away this opportunity right in front of his face since can't possibly say that 'I know all of your skill and abilities even your achievements because you are just a character in comics back in my past life' right? He might kill me on the spot or send me to the mental hospital for a long time. Plagued by the insistence of the kid in front of him, Shang Chi slowly calmed his mind and gained Zen again thinking on how to properly handle the situation at hand.

"Then tell me, what is the reason that made you do such an action upon meeting me for the first time?" 『Shang Chi 』

"U-umm… because… I read from Chinese novels that one can only gain fortunate encounters when one is seeking it outside while experiencing the world and you perfectly fit the description of great Martial Artists that is hidden in the mundane world either passing by his time or accumulating mortal experience to break through a higher state of mind that I have read from such novels since I was young. Therefore doing such a thing will not make me lose anything so I had done what I did. Please take me as your disciple!" 『John 』

 Stated John whilst doing a puppy eyes with an innocent look of a child, well I'm not really lying since he kinda look like the old grampa that helps the MC's in early stages on their path to the strong and this way he'll think of it as just a misfit of a child. Shang Chi slowly absorbing and considering the words stated by the kid in front of him seeing no lies in his expression while talking, made his mouth twitch a little before forming a grin then laughing out loud while holding his stomach then slowly calming back down and replying back to the kid.

"Ha ha ha ha, you've made my day kid! Though I also believe in the workings of fate and that there is now fate between us, I'll consider taking you as my disciple after passing my test. It isn't so easy becoming the disciple of this great one you know.  Come back here next week as I'm currently busy with other things on the coming days." 『Shang Chi 』

"Thank you very much Master! I won't let you down!" 『John 』

"Alright get along now if you're not going to buy anything as I still have a store to run."

 After sending out his newly ordained disciple with a smile his face slowly went back to a dead pan face thinking,'Even though he is young, his walking mannerism and habits shows that he already had basic foundations on martial arts. Thinking too much is not worth it, since with this happening things finally won't get boring around here Hahaha.' On the way back home John's mind is busy screaming internally 'SUCCCCCCCCCESSSS!!!' HAHAHAHA I've managed to link myself with one of the greatest martial artist in the Marvel universe. I don't want to absorb any of his abilities and masteries as I won't be able to perfectly create my own path of martial arts that'll suit my combat with assorted powers in the future, now the hellish training is really beginning. Coming back home grinning ear-to-ear made his butler ask him.

"Did something happen that made you cheerful young master?" 『Sebas 』

"Ha ha yeah just encountered a teacher on the way and have a merry conversation with him that's all." 『John 』

"By the way young master Milord has someone to introduce to you as your Martial Arts teacher tomorrow for a more focused training since he will be busy with a case from work." 『Sebas 』

"No need for such things Sebas, just tell my father I have my own plans" 『John』

"It's an old colleague of your father and he is also your godfather young master…" 『Sebas 』

"Hmm… fine I'll just meet him then. But for the martial arts training I'll speak my thoughts regarding it to him and my father when the time comes. Thanks for the update Sebas!" 『John 』

Replied Sebas while bowing slightly towards John, putting Sebas' reminder to the back of his mind he went straight back to his room and update his journal and plans for the future. Though I had already reached (Green) level in both body state and mind I still haven't unlocked that sealed bloodline feature in my status yet, looks like it's more likely related to the level of my [Emphatic mimicry(Black)] which is very hard to upgrade. Well it's not that much important as of now anyway as I have to prepare for the coming training from Shang Chi himself.

Phoenix stood up and her gaze swept its way toward Chen Xiaolian. Looking into his eyes, she said, “Although I know you are concealing something from me… that is not important. I have no interest in exploring other people’s secret.”

After saying that, Phoenix smiled. “I have to say, this has been a very enjoyable partnership, Guild Leader Chen Xiaolian. Hopefully, we won’t meet as enemies next time.”

Chen Xiaolian too, stood up. He looked back into Phoenix’s eyes and said, “… … I wish you good luck.”

“That is hard to predict.” Phoenix shook her head and replied, “I have never been a huge believer of luck – I mean, if our world is an artificial world, then the so-called luck may just be a form of rule set by the system.”

“… … …” Chen Xiaolian did not say anything in return.

“Until next time.”

Phoenix waved goodbye to Chen Xiaolian.

Her team members: Monster, the Titan brothers and Dagger were standing not far away. Dagger threw a baleful glare toward Chen Xiaolian before turning his head away.

“Guild Leader, can I kill that brat?” Bei Tai muttered.

“Don’t go around causing a havoc. Our instance dungeon is not over,” said Lun Tai who went to pat his younger brother’s head.

Before Phoenix left, Chen Xiaolian moved to shake hands with her. Unexpectedly, the young woman stepped closer and gave him a brief, gentle hug. She then smiled. “Try to live longer oh.”

Phoenix and the others quickly left. They moved straight on without showing any hesitation.

Back in the warehouse, there were two other fellows beside Chen Xiaolian and his team.

Dr Mu and… Colombo.

A cold corpse was all that was left of Colombo now. His spirit body had been absorbed utterly by Bai Qi.

As for Dr Mu, he appeared to still be in an unconscious state.

“Do we need to get him to a hospital?” asked Lun Tai as he turned to look at Chen Xiaolian.

Chen Xiaolian considered the suggestion. Then, he shook his head. “This London instance dungeon had yet to end. If we send him to the hospital, the police will come. That might cause problems for us.”

He recalled what Colombo had said back then. He had only used a powerful and concentrated anaesthetic agent on Dr Mu. Thus, Chen Xiaolian decided against sending Dr Mu to the hospital.

“Find someplace to let him rest. Then… we’ll leave. Hmm, after the instance dungeon ends, everything should end up being refreshed.”

They were currently in London. Under these circumstances, for Chen Xiaolian and his team who were clearly Chinese people, looking for a hotel to stay in would prove quite difficult.

As the London instance dungeon had yet to end, London was still not refreshed. Due to that… the Jack the Ripper’s case had resulted in the police looking for them.

The three of them left the warehouse and Chen Xiaolian brought out a spare car from his Storage Watch. As they were getting on the car, Chen Xiaolian carried Dr Mu with him and placed him in the back seat of the car. He unintentionally reached into his pocket and felt something solid.

He pulled it out to inspect it…

Chen Xiaolian immediately recalled how Phoenix had given him a hug before leaving.

As he gripped the badge. Chen Xiaolian could not help but fall into a daze.

“Where do we go now?” asked Bei Tai, who was seated in the driver’s seat.

“… … just try to find a hotel.” Chen Xiaolian held on tight to the badge.

With this badge, things will become much easier.

Utilizing the badge, Chen Xiaolian was able to casually get a room in a hotel – even though he did not produce any documents to identify himself, no one became suspicious of him.

“This item is simply too useful,” said Chen Xiaolian with a sigh.

After placing Dr Mu in the hotel room and placing the ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign on, Chen Xiaolian left the hotel.

“Where do we go to next? Have the next phase of the quest been issued?” Within the car, the three of them rolled down the windows and breathed in the humid air coming from the outside.

It was presently past ten o’clock at night.

Chen Xiaolian looked at the time and said, “It should be coming soon.”

“Hopefully the second phase of the quest won’t be too difficult…”

“I wonder what the marks are for.”

The two brothers, Lun Tai and Bei Tai muttered.

It was at that instant that the system sent over a prompt.









“Tower of London?” Chen Xiaolian frowned and shared the system prompt with Lun Tai and Bei Tai. None of them was able to figure any clues out from there.

In the last random quest, the destination area was Whitechapel. Hearing the name, one could associate it with Jack the Ripper’s case… as for the Tower of London, it was an infamous ancient building in the UK. Trying to guess the contents of the next quest was no easy matter.

That was due to the amount of history contained within the Tower of London, one spanning up to a thousand years. Countless well-known historical events had occurred there… to speculate which one of those would be selected by the system to be the quest’s storyline would be too much of a task for Chen Xiaolian – even though he was a web writer who had read up on many information regarding the Tower of London, it was still too much for him.

“We’ll discuss about it after we get there!” Chen Xiaolian decided. “We’ll know the results in 30 minutes time.”

The Tower of London, located on the north of the River Thames and also situated near the famed London Bridge.

It had nearly a thousand years’ worth of history contained within.

This place was originally a military fortress. The origin of this place was somewhat interesting.

Roughly a thousand years ago, the King of England died, leaving no heir behind. Thus, the England noble Harold was appointed as the King.

That incident infuriated a certain fellow.

To be more exact, it was a certain Frenchman, the French Duke of Normandy. It was a fellow named William – this fellow was the cousin of the deceased King of England.

Thus, he became dissatisfied.

Damn it! The one to inherit the throne should have been ME!

It had to be said, in the history of Europe’s medieval period, the lineage of the various royals were very chaotic. Due to various matchmakings and marriages, the royal members of each kingdom were pretty much related to each other.

Thus, the Duke of Normandy did something incredible.

Invade England through the seas!

Hmm, he was the Duke of Normandy, that Normandy of France… the same one in the famed Allied Invasion of Normandy in World War II.

The Tower of London was constructed by this incredible person during the war – back then, he had already landed upon England and begun his attacks on the people of England. He had some men construct a military fortress at the north bank of the River Thames. This was in preparation for him to enter London and be crowned as King.

And so, the Tower of London was built.

In the beginning, this place was used as a military fortress. Then, it was slowly given other functions: military armoury, treasury, mint, palace…

On the way there, Chen Xiaolian told Lun Tai and Bei Tai everything he knew about the history of the Tower of London.

The two of them clearly did not know about that. However, hearing that the Tower of London was built by a Frenchman, they became curious.

“The Frenchman actually became the King of England?” Bei Tai stared.

“Yes, he was William, the Duke of Normandy. More accurately, he could not exactly be considered a Frenchman. Additionally… the royalty of Europe, their relations were interlinked and their lineage was a chaotic mess.” Chen Xiaolian smiled. “However, he did indeed conquer England and become its King. His crown was passed down to four generations. In the history of the UK, the period of time was known as the Norman Dynasty.”

“I still don’t get it… some French dude actually conquered England. Did he bring a large army with him or something?” Lun Tai asked.

Chen Xiaolian considered the question and answered, “I am not too knowledgeable on this matter. However… from what I’ve read, his army was not that large. There were only around 10,000 men. Additionally… a large portion of it consisted of mercenaries.

“During the battle against the England army, William was extremely fortunate. It was said that the King of England was coincidentally shot down by an arrow in the middle of the battlefield. After hearing the news that their King had died, majority of the England army chose to retreat.”

“So, he was an extremely lucky fellow?” Lun Tai laughed.

“Hell knows. I am not an expert on UK history,” Chen Xiaolian replied with a smile.

At approximately eleven o’clock, their car arrived near the Tower of London.

The place had become one of the most famous attractions in London and it played host to millions of visitors each year.

At night, the Tower of London was naturally closed.

The street was very narrow… in fact; most of the streets in London were very narrow.

They parked their car by the street; Chen Xiaolian and his team members were in no hurry to get down from the car. Instead, they waited quietly for the next system quest to be issued.

Then, another car drove over from the other direction.

It was a black coloured Land Rover. The car was stopped opposite of Chen Xiaolian and his team. Soon, two men stepped out from the car.

One of them was an average looking figure wearing a thick outer suit commonly worn by people of the UK.

The other man had a larger stature, with a rather bulbous nose on his face.

The Briton with the average stature, who was standing far away, cast his gaze at Chen Xiaolian. A peculiar smile appeared on his face.

He even waved his hand toward Chen Xiaolian.

“… …could it be? Will we have partners for this time’s quest as well?” Chen Xiaolian was momentarily surprised.

The other party appeared very genial. He had a very wide smile on his face as he simply crossed the street to approach them.

He strode until he was standing before Chen Xiaolian. Then, he gently rapped the car window.

“Hi!”

Tian Lie stood outside the car with a smile on his face as he looked at Chen Xiaolian who was seated inside.

Chen Xiaolian hesitated for a moment. Then, he opened the car door and stepped out. Lun Tai and Bei Tai were quick to follow suit and they stood vigilantly behind Chen Xiaolian.

“What a coincidence. Did you also come here to accept the quest?” asked Tian Lie with squinted eyes.

Chen Xiaolian regarded the Briton before him whom he had never met before. He had a feeling that there was something weird about the warm-hearted expression on his face.

“Looks like we are the same type,” said Tian Lie. He turned his head around to look at the man with bulbous nose, who was standing behind. “This is my companion; his name is Jean, a Frenchman. We are also here after receiving the random quest telling us to come to this Tower of London. You guys too, right?”

“… …yes.” Chen Xiaolian hesitated for a bit. However, after the cooperation with Phoenix’s guild, he had become more experienced in dealing with such a situation. “We are from Meteor Rock Guild. I am the Guild Leader, Chen Xiaolian. If you don’t mind me asking, you are…”

“My name is Conan.”

Cough cough cough cough!

Chen Xiaolian nearly choked on his own saliva!

“What? Your name is what again?”

“Conan,” Tian Lie answered with a smile. “The Conan from Conan Doyle, the fellow who wrote the Sherlock Holmes book.”

All right then…

As long as you are not the little kid with the big bowtie who brings death wherever you go, everything will be fine [1]!

Chen Xiaolian sighed. He then attempted to sound him out. “In other words… we received the same random quest?”

“It seems like it,” Tian Lie replied with a rather perplexing tone of voice. He continued, “This is truly surprising.”

Chen Xiaolian did not catch the other meaning in the other person’s tone. He considered for a moment before looking at the fellow before him. He asked, “If so… a cooperation?”

Tian Lie’s eyes exhibited a smiling look and he extended his hand out. “A cooperation!”

At the same time, the system prompt arrived.
