Lilly : ok then let's serve it 
As astha walked in the dining room he saw Lana and Charlotte without there armour sitting comfortably around the dining table as he opened the pots to serve them Lana started to have stars in her eyes and Charlotte was controlling her self very badly as she did not wanted to embarrass her self as a magic knight
Astha : Well eat up while the food is hot sorry but since we haven't made any alcohol yet please make due with some juice

How did he find oil and bees wax - first after crushing seeds with enough pressure using his space magic (using higher gravity) he extracted them as for beeswax he destroyed honey combs gaing honey and beeswax In the process
Now the next chapter will be a time skip and I will skip to the grimvoir aceptence ceremony aka four years and add some minor details and a chapter where Julius will visit him

Linze half-supported her sister as the girls left the banquet hall. Elze was a floppy drunk, ahahaha. It was such a pity Mister Zah wasn't around to see this.

"Mister Zah and Miss Monika are taking a very long time. Should we go and look for them?" Linze asked Yumina. No one resented how Yumina very quickly became second in command in their group, not even Elze. Everyone counted on Elze to have the common sense to curb their enthusiasm. Yumina was actually trained for this sort of thing.

Sir Zah was a diplomatic disaster always primed and ready to blow.

"Mmm. I don't know. If we were to, say, 'split the party', we would only have ourselves to extricate Sir Zah from whatever mess he's gotten into now." The life of an adjutant was one of endless optimism. Because if you expect things to get worse, you will always be pleasantly surprised. 
 
"I am combat ready," said Yae.

Yumina stared at her. Yae was a fighty drunk, this was not a good thing. 

Thunder rolled in the distance. Everyone looked towards the sky through the tall windows on the far end of the corridor. Then there was a shrieking electric noise.

"Uggh, that idiot," Elze moaned as she clung to her sister's shoulder. "I know that sound."

Contrary to what people might expect, the beastkin race of 'fairy' were not actually all that smaller than regular folk. The winged tribe did not have hollow bones or large enough wings to actually support their weight, they flew with the aid of magic. 

The fairies were known for two things – first, their deep well of magic power. The fairy tribe flew on glittering wings that were half-magic, half-real. Second, their extreme longlevity. At some point, a fairy just stops aging entirely and lives in a state of unchanging immortality through centuries.

They were known as the beings closest to spirits. 

Leene was among the oldest of the fairies, and the most powerful, but her immortality started at just before blossoming into full womanhood and that had its own share of problems. Apart from the obvious one, it also meant that she would forever be somewhat of a lightweight with alcohol.

She smiled faintly as she watched Playa shoot up to the sky on gray smoke plumes bursting out of the soles of his boots. How novel! Then Playa had to point his palms down and let loose another pair of burning jet plumes to allow for level flight. 

She had never seen this sort of magic before. Leene had to fight to prevent anything than elegant appreciation from showing on her face; six hundred years she had spent trying to cultivate a mysterious aloof appearance, she couldn't afford to display any sort of girlish enthusiasm.

They faced each other squarely in the air. Leene could stay in the air effortlessly, while Playa had to continually consume magic power just to stay up. Was this not an immense disadvantage? 

"As a show of my respect, I will allow you to strike the first blow," Leene said, making a small bow.

Playa pulled one arm back, he began to drop, and pointed at her with two fingers. He roared "Come, [Lightning!]"

PHWOOOT.

Rather than the deadly narrow lightning bolt, what came out was a crackling web going slightly off to her right side. It was close enough to be dangerous, and she felt some heat from its passing.

"Wait, no, that's not right…" Playa mumbled, boosting back up to the previous height. 

He tried again. "Come, [Lightning!]" PHWOOOT.

It should go an intimidating THOOOOM. Why isn't it a THOOOM?

/"You're not Azula, Player. Lightningbending requires a little bit more focus than that."/

Leene put her hand to her hips and smirked. "I'm not drunk, you're drunk," she said dryly.

"S-SHUT UP!" He vaulted to high overhead. "T-try this, then!" He put a finger to each cheek and Shouted "[YOL TOOR SHUUL!]"

From his mouth came out wide, hot, billowing flames like a dragon. The flame torrent covered over completely Leene. And also blocked his entire forward vision. 

Klonk!

Playa's head snapped back from a rock that punched through the fire curtain. That was the difference between men and dragons. Dragons had their eyes further apart, and so could roughly watch over the target they were roasting with the fire spewing from their mouth whichever way out of the cone of fire they tried to dodge.

His [Air Shield] was active, so it didn't do any damage, but it was still enough to send him pinwheeling around in the air. As always, and like Elze had figured out, the [Air Shield] was excellent against magic and high-velocity impacts, but slower hits that would only be an annoyance could get through more easily.

A pugilist was an Air Mage's worst enemy! If they could, you know, fly.

Winged folk of beastkin could do that, so they were specially dangerous with their spears and javelins. Leene was six hundred years old, and as Matriarch of the Fairy Tribe had repeatedly stomped them down and all other possible contenders to air supremacy. 

She was mainly the reason the Fairy clans were so feared. 

"If you can dodge a rock, you can dodge an arrow," said Leene as the view cleared. She remained hanging in the sky, not having moved one bit from her position. But now a ring of rocks circled around her, impossibly orbiting her frame like an asteroid field.

/"Earthbending?"/ Monika gasped.

Playa nodded. "Interesting. Well, we did consider using rocks also as mobile shield interceptor layer, like Albus Dumbledore blocking the normally unblockable Avada Kedavra, but while levitation of small objects is basic magic, it's processing cycles wasted when we could just act as the interceptor. Kind of like being the multirole fighter throwing ship-killer cruise missiles ahead of the carrier instead of relying on a destroyer anti-air screen for the battlegroup."

Leene raised her right. "[Program: Homing Missile. Object: Rock flung out by magic. Order: Curve to follow target. Trigger: Raised hand with index and pinky finger outstretched. Termination: Target hit.]" She smiled softly. "Come, dodge this."

/"There it is again!"/ Monika pointed angrily with her tiny arm.

"We are going full Itano Circus (1) over here!" Playa yelled. "Evasive maneuvers. Wind! [Lightning!] [Air Artillery Bolt-Web], engage!"

Fwoosh! Player surged up and swooped around in a spiraling pattern. Rocks followed in his wake, only visible from the faint purple tinge of pre-applied levitation magic. 

Pew pew pew pew! A previously stored spell in Monika's [Application Stack] opened six Boom Tube apertures around Player's shoulders and hips, and began throwing out small lightning balls in rapid fire.

Linze and Yumina stared out at the night sky, now lighting up with flashes of combat magic.

"Mister Zah is doing something again. Should we help?"

"How?" Yumina asked. "It's not like any of us can also fly."

Meanwhile, Elze groaned as she was supported by Yae. "I don't caaaare," she hissed. "Dammit Playa… this is all your fault." 

Then she paused rigidly and said very seriously "I need to puke."

Very quickly Yae spun her around like so much boardwood.

Blooorgh.

And then Leene added "If you can dodge exploding rock, you can dodge explosion magic."

Poom. Poom. Poom. 

/"How are you doing that?!"/ Monika shouted back. 

"How are *you* doing that?" Leene asked in return. "Are you doing that, or is it your man? Such a unique use of portal magic, it is quite curious."

"Shite, she's not doing the shounen thing and explaining her attack after she does them so that the other side can figure out a loophole," Playa moaned even as he flipped around and began throwing off lightning trails that one by one lanced out to strike incoming rocks, that were now glowing red. On a hit, they exploded. 

/"One does not reach six hundred years by revealing their vulnerabilities, I suppose."/

But removing his arms from flight duty to combat duty meant that his flight vector was locked into a straight line. He could only make small spiraling adjusments by moving one foot out of alignment. His altitude began to drop.

Other people were being roused by the commotion. Yumina and Linze put away thoughts of helping, as they watched guards and other folk come out to the courtyard.

Playa dropped down and buzzed them, air blasting awake in the wake of his passing. Glowing rocks  followed behind him, and soon the bright contrails went out of the city limits.

"That's Zah!" King Jamukha shouted excitedly. "He's fighting! Noooooo!" He roared and threw up his arms in dismay. "My remaaaaaatch!"

"Let's just go to our rooms and pretend this whole thing isn't happening," Yumina wisely decided. "Sir Zah can inform us about the results in the morning."

"Frghhhggrh wnts tuh show off…" Elze spoke mainly through her nostrils.

"That just adds even more reason not to entertain him like this. If he doesn't want to sleep, then does that mean we should wait up worrying?"

"T-that's a wife's job," Linze squaked.

"Exactly. And since *none of us* here are his wife, we should not stress ourselves needlessly. He will be fine. I'm sure of it."

Linze looked doubtful. "You're going to stay up anyway worrying, aren't you?"

The little princess grit her teeth and slapped her palms flat at the glass. "Of course I am! Someone has to worry about the diplomatic fallout from this! We aren't just a bunch of adventurers anymore, what we do matters to two whole kingdoms!" she whimpered despondently.

"Ish because w'erre mighty that can dishdain consequenshes," Elze murmured. "Frakk em."

"H-how irresponsible!"

"Gonna punssh Playa in the fessh next time ah see him."

"How responsible!"

"That's silly though. How would any programming language magic appear in this crazy magic world?"

"Right, Charlotte is obsessed about the lost civilization for good reason. But then how would Leene know of it?"

The actual ancient spell, not the obsession with the ancient lost civilization. That's probably where Charlotte got that habit in the first place.

Playa flipped around and slammed down to the ground, feet first. Then an [Earth Wall] rose high in front of him. The homing rocks slammed upon the rocks and exploded.

Boom.

Playa appeared from behind Leene. She turned back around just in time to see Playa open his palms out and a rapid stream of lightning balls burst out. Pew pew pew pew pew!

Leene quickly strafed left, but not before a lightning ball managed to clip her in the side. 

After some distance away, and Playa had stopped attacking, she looked down at the ragged hole burned into her waist, exposing pale skin. She touched the strike zone, it felt numb but also sensitive at the same time – prodding it with her finger left a stinging sensation. She began to chuckle softly. 

"I was right. You do belong in the skies. Such a free spirit must always yearn for greater heights."

"Our souls cannot be held down by gravity," Playa said pompously.

There was the sound of breaking glass, and Monika appeared floating beside him.

/"That [Program]…."/ Monika asked with a heavily lidded stare, /"Is it elemental spell magic or a null-elemental personal magic?"/

Leene openly grinned. She had them! First, interest. Then negotiation. Then, an exchange of favors. And then... something more. "First, tell me, what do you mean by being able to use ALL Null magic?"

Monika pursed her lips sourly. One could be generous to an ignoramus, but an expert must demand compensation for their valuable knowledge.

I looked at Rin and noticed that she's also removing the bones one by one while the rest are eating a mouthful and they would just remove the bones that they encounter by pushing it out with their tongues and getting picked by their hands.  

We both smiled at each other as we continued on removing the bones. My family members just smiled at what I'm doing since they already know why, though they were surprised at Rin.  

The rest who haven't known me that long are so confused as to why I'm doing it and to why was Rin also doing it.  

Charlotte has a confused look on her face and then she kept on asking Chris why but Chris doesn't also know. They kept on squabbling but Chris gave in and asked me.

"S-Sky, Charlotte wanted me to ask you about why the two of you are eating them differently." Chris said.  

The rest with confused looks also looked towards me if I would answer or not. I said, "It's not much of a secret, I'm kinda sure on why Rin does as well but I do it for convenience. I just don't like the feel of the bones in my mouth so I remove them first before eating. Also, I do the same with other foods like watermelon, sunflower seeds, etc. I'd like to see them neat and ready before I start to eat them."  

"What? Really? I think our teacher once told us about that, it's..." Chris trailed.  

"OCD, one form of it." I said.  

"Yeah! That's what she said! Did a doctor told you that you have it or did you just notice it yourself?" Chris said.  

"I noticed it by myself when I was younger. Even when I walk, I would plan where I place my foot, where I'll turn, where to stop or how fast I'll go. Even with these guns, I'd like for them to always be in pairs, I'll get an itch if one of them is missing. How about you Rin?" I said.  

The group then turned their heads towards her.  

"Umm, that sounds about right in my case too. Before I met Boss Sky, I worked in a store and I was tasked on organizing inventory in the customer help desk. Mrs. Thelma, the owner, left that post for me and she said that I was perfect for the job. Boss saw me on the store and also noticed it, he even talked to my former boss to let him take me here." Rin said.  

The group made different expressions when they heard the story. Kaley looked at me and she pointed at my wakizashi, I nodded at her look that means, 'Same thing with that blade, right?'  

"The only bad thing that comes out of it doing this is that the food gets colder, that's why I only grabbed the fish and I will just add the rice later so it would still be hot when I eat it." I said laughing while they continued to eat.  

I finished removing the bones on my fish and then I started eating. To their surprise, I even managed to finish eating faster than them. I grabbed a cup of the iced tea in the pitcher and I drank half of it, I refilled it again and I brought an extra cup for Kaley.  

"Thanks." she said as she gave me a smile.  

"How about me? Won't you take care of an old man?" Oscar said.  

I rolled my eyes and I grabbed another cup for him.  

"Thanks kid!" he said while laughing heartily.  

We all finally finished eating and I handed my case to Rin to be included in the inventory along with the guns in my torso.  

I stretched for a moment and we headed out. Allan and Jenny are still on the catwalk because they also ate their lunch there.  

I checked our loadout and I refilled the ammunition for the M9s that I gave Mark and Dong. I also gave them a belt for a holster and I handed the combat knife to Mark. On Oscar's group, he also gave them a couple of pistols and he handed my uncle a shotgun. Each of us now are equipped with a ranged weapon and a melee weapon.  

Before we left, Charlotte and Zeidrick walks up to me and said, "Hey, I'm thinking of postponing on building the fence to the other side of the wall. We're thinking of dismantling the wooden house next to our place and filling it up with more soil so that we could have a bigger place to plant crops. We could till the soil inside and make isolated farms but if we make a small farm outside just next to our place, it would yield more crops in the long run. You guys are sweeping the area now and there will be no zombies coming from your side and on the other side since the fence there is already been built."  

I contemplated for a moment and then I agreed. "That sounds good, we could think up of other ways to build inside the compound other than more farms. We'll discuss it in the meeting later. Do you need more people in helping you guys?" I asked.  

"No, the house there is pretty small and the less people helping the better since there's not much room inside. I think my kid and someone else could do for now. I'm going to borrow some of those big rubber boots for the water." he said.  

"Sure, we'll be going now. Grab some of the work gloves too yeah?" I said.  

He nodded and we left for the small houses in the center of those fishing areas. All places are pretty barren and nothing is there except for a few household supplies and a couple sacks of fish food. It went faster than expected so we headed to the last place of the job today, the radio station.  

Big letters that spell 'DZRH' adorned the small building. It's two-stories tall and there is a huge antenna on top of it. Oscar's group guarded the entrance and then we went inside after unlocking the gate first.

"Know how to operate this thing Sky if we get this thing running?" Kaley asked.  

"No, I mean not yet. I've stocked up on many manuals and I'm sure that I have one for this thing. It just might be as simple as flicking a switch and talking to it but we might need a real tech here for maintaining the place. I've been preoccupied in building the compound I've only done a few readings on these things. Also, we have Sat Phones so I think broadcasting on a radio will not do us much good at the moment although it's nice to have something like this place." I said.  

Mark is the one starting the routine while I point out things that they have missed. Everyone is learning fast and we need to adapt fast in this situation. Fortunately, the place is already abandoned. There were no more vehicles in the parking area and all that's left from the radio equipment are a few boxes of instant food, few gallons of water still in the dispensers and a few medicinal supplies in their medicine cabinets. Mark saw a fire axe next to a fire extinguisher and he contemplated on switching it with the knife. 

"What do you think?" he asked me.  

"Why not keep both? Just holster the gun and the knife and mainly use that one. The knife is very versatile but that fire axe is something similar to the way you use that sledgehammer, the bonus is that blood splatter can be reduced to a minimum." I explained.  

He gave a pensive expression and he followed my suggestion.  

We finished early and we took two trips in hauling the essentials. The rest helped in hauling everything in the truck and when we're done, a few also helped on dismantling the wooden shack. I showed Charlotte the list of the seeds in the inventory and she's now planning on what to plant on that plot of land when we finish it.  

A few zombies are starting to wander around the fence that we built and Jenny quickly dispatched some of them while Allan carried the bodies to the place where we usually burn them. There's now a basket near the gate that we call the 'Random Trinket Bag' where we place items that we found on the dead in there. Now, there's a few watches, jewelry, wallets, cash, knives, cigarettes, bags and footwear. No one seems interested at first but I left it there because I knew we would find a use for those someday.  

I looked at my watch and it's a few minutes short of an hour before the broadcast. I called over Mark, Dong, Nicole and Alicia. They wondered why I called them but when they saw what I was carrying they understood.  

I was planning to teach them a few hours' worth about properly using guns.  

"Hey! Can you take me too?" Allan chimed.

"Better to have and not need than to need and not have." -Sky Ishiyama.

The story takes place in our world where our MC was diving through the Dark Web just for fun and discovered something that can only be found in books, movies, or games.

Zombies.

Ever wondered what you could do in a zombie apocalypse where you actually know what you're doing? Actually surviving properly while preventing stupid deaths? Doing what is right and necessary? Or better yet, actually doing what you shout in the monitor when you're watching a film?

Our MC is coupled with the knowledge of not just fighting z's but actually surviving by securing his home, finding allies, scavenging for supplies, building a community and so much more.

All of the names and places mentioned in this novel are fictional and any relation to people IRL is purely coincidental.

I entered through the gate into the campus. The academy's name 'Primalux Academy' was engraved onto the top of the entrance gate. My first impression of the academy is that it's huge and probably extremely expensive maintain.

The surrounding environment was full of nature. Beautiful green grass and foliage was one thing but the effort it would take to maintain it would be tremendous. And then I remembered that there is probably a system to help with all this. 

I walked within the crowd of new arrivals who had come to the academy as well. People of very different appearances all followed the path in order to get to the orientation. However I broke off with them once we reached a fountain and went over to the beautiful 16 year old girl sitting on it.

"Charlotte." I called out to her.

She looked up and saw me. She gave a smile and waved as I walked over. Some of the new entries saw me going to her and expressed surprise and I think I saw jealousy? Strange.

"Well lets go. I can give you more information than the orientation leaders." Charlotte gave a light laugh.

"Really now?" I spoke sarcastically though I did trust she wouldn't harm me in anyway. 

"Let's see where should I start?" I followed along behind Charlotte as she thought about what to explain first. We kept walking till we came to the front of another gate similar to the one at the entrance.

"Well I'll start here."  Charlotte spread her arms to show off the buildings behind her. "These are the dorms and that's pretty self explanatory. The right building is for guys, left's for girls. Girls are allowed into the guy's dorm but guys aren't allowed into the girl's dorm building."

I nodded in understanding. It was pretty understandable to me why such rules were in place. 

"Alright." I said.

"Oh right your dorm number do you know it."

"No..."

Shit I should have gone to orientation. Damn it. I turned and began to run but Charlotte pulled me back.

She didn't pull me back with her hands though but with a spell. I guess her system taught her that spell. Or maybe a teacher?

"Don't worry I have your dorm key here." She pulled a key with keychain with the characters 'M-15' on it. She passed them over to me and said, "Okay that's your dorm key don't lose it. Now I'll show you where classes take place."

I followed along behind her as we headed back to the fountain and headed in the same direction everyone else did. Now that I think about how come Charlotte is the only student out right now that's not new.

"Charlotte how come I see now other older students here?"

"Oh that? Well I have special permissions as your my sibling, Dad has some influence, and both of us have mythical systems." She said without making a big deal out of it. "There are some other reasons but those are the main ones."

"Okay then."

Then we reached a large area with multiple large buildings around.

"This is the main area for classes. Magic, Combat, Core Classes and..." she pointed to all the buildings listing what type of classes were held there. 

"And here is your schedule." She pulled out a small triangular device. She approached me and put it on the stuck it onto the side of my head.

Violet light flickered and then a screen similar to the system's but in a different color appeared. On the screen I had the choice of profile, map, messenger, and web available. It seemed that the selected option was based off what I look at.

"What's this thing?"

"It's created by a teacher here. Its connected to the internet and has all a student's information on it. It has the functions of your phone basically." Charlotte explained as she brushed some of her hair back. "I have it too."

I had never heard the school had such a thing.

"It's pretty cool. It kinda looks like a system screen." It probably based off one to make it easy for the students. Charlotte told me how to turn it off and then lead me to another location as well as pointing out the cafeteria.

"Here is my favorite place: the dungeons." Charlotte showed off the large building. It was extremely different in appearance to all the other buildings in the school as it had a more ancient design to it. Not that it looked old, I'm just referring to the design. 

As for the name I knew what it was. It was this academy's most well known place. The headmaster had the ability to create something similar to my instances however multiple people could enter. And they were permanent too.

"We will proceed with our plan just like how we planned earlier. I don't want to accelerate it and do some mistakes. Moreover, I am not into revenge and all I want is to protect the only orphanage and my only nephew, Will in it." Brina said firmly.  


Harry sighed in defeat and nodded his head. Brina didn't leave him any space to retaliate back. 


Once she takes a decision no one can convince her to change her mind. 


'So, this is how the CEO version of my Brina looks like. She left no room for arguing and she is firm with her decisions. She truly knows her way around her words.' Louis proudly thought. 


He rubbed her back and helped her to lie down on the bed when he remembered what uncle Tom warned. 


No stress!!


"Just now uncle Tom had told you not to stress out or get angry. It's not good for you in these circumstances. And, everything will happen how you wanted them to proceed. But for now, you are not going to think about all these matters and concentrate on recuperating. After that, it's your choice what to do with your family. No one will interfere and they will just give their suggestions. Okay?" Louis comforted her. 


"Louis, someone came to meet you." Rhianna said after he finished cooling Brina down. 


"It should be Charolette. I will go and check." Louis said to Brina and kissed her forehead before exiting the room with Rhianna. 


Now, it's just Harry and Brina left in the room. 


Getting his chance at last, Harry walked around and reached for Brina's hand as he pressed it to his cheeks, as a gesture of apologizing. 


"All I want is to protect you Brina. I promise your dad that I will never let anyone hurt you. But, that doesn't mean I will do something without thinking of the consequences. We will do it as per your wish. And, Louis is right. Recover first, and by that time Nadia or Nolen will surely do something blunt and we can cash it for our purpose." he said. 


Brina nodded her head and looked apologetically at Harry. "Sorry, I lost my temper. I promised Seth that I won't let anything happen to Will. So, I was afraid of breaking my promise. I would rather risk my life but not gamble with his innocent life. Even you know how dangerous it will be if they find out that the heir of my family is still alive." she said. 


"They will go to any length just to kill us. I have to mask my existence at least till Will get well and wake up. After that, no one can stop me from taking revenge on those power hungry bastards." Brina said. 


"Ssh.. ssh.. don't get emotional Brina. It's not good and don't forget that your head hasn't recovered from the injury yet. You can't risk having a sudden sad episode." Harry said. 


The head injury they are talking now happened on the day she lost her family to her enemies. No one except Harry knows about this sudden pain she gets in her head whenever she thinks too much. 


Though it is not frequent and it attacks very occasionally, that was enough to make her cry out in pain for days and days continuously. 


"For now, enjoy your romantic trip with your boyfriend." Harry said and winked at Brina, making her laugh.

Meanwhile…


At downstairs in the lobby, Charlotte is anxiously waiting. 


She found out late about what happened to Brina and as soon as she heard about Brina's accident, Charlotte rushed to the hospital.


She was actually packing her bags to go back to her country. Her parents insisted her to visit them and she was left with no option but to agree. 


Charlotte knows why they were persistent. As she cancelled the engagement with Louis, they wanted to know the real reason behind it. 


But, Charlotte cancelled her visit and rushed here. She thought that Louis might need her support now as he will be the only person to take care of Brina. 


'Brina's family never cared for her and it leaves Louis all alone to look after Brina. He needs my moral support.' that is what Charlotte thought. 


However, after she reached the hospital and met Louis, she couldn't help but ask, "You should have shifted Brina to the hospital which is in partnership with our company. They would have took good care of her compared to the doctors in S & S." 


Louis smiled, "But I think S & S is better for Brina." he said. 


"Why?" Charlotte asked, slightly confused. 


Louis rounded his arm around Charolette's shoulders and whispered, "If you are the owner of certain hospital and you are sick, would you prefer that hospital or other one?" 


"Of course mine." Charlotte answered but soon frowned. How is this question related to this topic?


'Isn't this totally irrelevant?' she questioned herself. 


After thinking for a brief moment, she figured out her answer. And as soon as she did, she stared at Louis with wide eyes and her mouth ajar. 


"You mean.. Brina is?" she didn't voice out her sentence completely, but her eyes certainly did and Louis nodded his head. 


"Shocking isn't it? And, another incredible news is, Brina is the sister of Harry Smith. She was once the CEO of S & S corps and her full name is Sabrina. And, she is the first S in S & S corporations. Brina is no ordinary like others think and she is definitely not an employee who just waits for her pay days. She is filthy rich and extremely complicated." he whispered to his best friend. 


Charlotte indeed felt difficult to digest these mind blowing and incredible news. "So, what are you thinking? And, what else is she hiding?" Charlotte asked. 


"She isn't hiding anything Char. She just needs time. After getting to know the hardships she has been through, she definitely needs time to open up. And, as for what I'm thinking, I will continue as CEO of L & E corporations. I decided to support Brina and help her to get on with her life." he said. 


"Whatever you decide, I will support you." Charlotte said

She was a simple girl who was brought up in a simple household, or at least that was what others thought about her. 


She is full of mysteries and secrets but was always seen as naïve and innocent girl. Or, simply…it is more precise to tell that she keeps that facade for her own good. 


But why?? 


Only she knows the answer. 


However, unlike other girls of her age, who dreamt of getting married to rich and famous guys, she preferred to find someone who has simple life and easy going family.

"President Zhou, the jewelry has been found! It was in a cleaning closet." One of the workers hurried to tell Gordon. 
  "Great. Have you seen my wife?" Gordon asked, distracted. She had yet to return from the washroom. 
  "No, sir." The worker said. 
  Gordon walked away. He saw one of the models walking down the hallway, so he stopped her and asked that she check the women's washroom for Charlotte. 
  A few moments later the model informed him that there was no one in the women's washroom. 
  Gordon couldn't explain it, but he felt uneasy. As though something dark was ominously approaching. He realized he may be overreacting but he called his security detail and gave the command to secure and search the premises for Charlotte. He couldn't shake the feeling in his gut. 
  Some twenty minutes later and the event hall had been searched with no sign of Charlotte. Worse yet, they suspected that the missing jewelry might be a ruse. Someone knew the security footage would be pulled to search for the jewelry while the actual target, Charlotte, was removed while the cameras weren't in order. 
  Gordon felt sick with terror and anger. 
  "Mr. President, this woman said she noticed a middle aged man carrying a pregnant woman out a side door." One of the body guards approached with a young woman. 
  "Charlotte was wearing a red dress." Gordon said. 
  "Yes, this woman was wearing a red dress too. She looked unconscious. The man said she wasn't feeling well and that he was taking her to the hospital." The woman shared. 
  "Call the hospitals! Lock this place down and talk with everyone about what they've seen! I have to have her back safe!" Gordon yelled.

  Charlotte felt light headed and could faintly smell something sickeningly sweet. 
  The handkerchief! It had smelled like that! 
  Where was she? And why was it so dark? She tried to move but her feet and arms were bound. She seemed to be lying on a dirty mattress in a warehouse maybe? Or some kind of abandoned place. Her first urge was to scream, but she feared drawing attention to herself. She needed to think clearly and not panic, as she was attempting not to do. 
  Slowly, her eyes adjusted to her surroundings. It seemed to be some kind of abandoned factory. She attempted to loose her hands but they were tied tightly. 
  She could feel her baby gently kicking and was relieved he was alright so far. She wanted to cry. She just wanted to see Gordon and rest in his arms and have a good cry. 
  Did Gordon know she was in danger? Did he know she had been taken? Or was he distracted by the day's event? Would she even see her husband again?
  Her last memory before losing consciousness had been of Penny, mocking her. How could Penny have come up with such a hellish plot? She knew Penny was jealous and manipulative but she had no idea she'd do something criminal. 
  Would Charlotte ever escape, or would the darkness of this place consume her?

Jie threw away the cigarette butt and said in a serious tone, “Not joking. I meant the four of us will stay here. I think you’ve realized that the three of them are just normal people. They won’t be able to keep up with the running you’re going to do. Instead of taking the risk of falling behind, it’s safer for them to stay here.”

One looked at Zheng and the other two, he fell silent for a moment. “And you? Why’re you staying here also?”

Jie shrugged his shoulders. “I apologize, but I have gained some of my memory back. These three are my friends so I can’t leave them alone. I have to stay here to protect them.”

The rest of the mercenaries came over. They were looking at Zheng’s group with curiosity. One looked at Zheng again, “No, he saved my life and I can’t just stand here and watch my comrades die. Remember, we are comrades now. Understand? My order is to leave this place immediately.”

Lan stood up, “Captain and everyone. You know we don’t have the stamina to keep up with your steps. Instead of becoming a zombie, don’t you think we have a better chance of surviving by staying here and waiting for possible backup? If you really want us to die, then I have nothing else to say.”

One fell silent again. After a while, he said with a dejected tone, “I understand… Kaplan, turn on the defense system of that laser corridor. You guys stay in the Red Queen’s room, that’s the safest place. Wait there peacefully. If we survive, we will report this situation to the corporation… Don’t die.”

Jie led Zheng and the others to the Red Queen’s room. Then Kaplan turned on the defense system of the corridor. The lights of the corridor lit up again. The two groups could see each other through the window on the door. They felt a sense of sympathy from each other.

After the mercenaries left, Lan laughed. “Did you see it? They were looking at us with sympathy. I wonder how they will feel when they encounter the Hunters.”

With three sturdy metallic doors and the defensive system of the corridor, this was a very safe place. At least compared to what the cast had to face. The four of them could finally relax. Jie also handed some cigarettes to Zheng.

“You can also exchange cigarettes from God?” Zheng took a smoke. This cigarette was much higher quality than those he used to smoke. So he asked in curiosity.

Jie squinted his eyes. “There are too many good things you can exchange from God. I haven’t even finished reading through the list. It has four categories. 1. Scientific: such as guns, bullet proof vests, and even some weapons that only appeared in sci-fi movies–but they also cost a fortune. They’re not something I can afford. 2. Magical items: like scrolls, Taoist charms, amulets, and swords.”

Xiaoyi said with surprise, “Are those weapons like what they have in games? Are they very powerful?”

Jie glanced at him. “I don’t know if they are powerful or not, but magical items cost double the points of scientific items. I think you would use them in supernatural movies.”

Zheng asked curiously, “Supernatural movies?”

“Yes, like…”, Jie thought for a moment, “The Grudge!”[1]


The three felt a shiver down their spines. As though there were ghosts hiding in the shadows.

“You know why I said Resident Evil was an easy difficulty movie? It’s because you can solve and explain everything here with science. You can kill the monsters, you can run away. As long as you’re not infected and you have a gun, you can survive.”

A hint of fear crossed Jie’s face. He said while thinking of the past, “Those movies that you can’t explain with science are the most horrifying. You don’t know when you will die, how you will die, or even if you are still alive. Terror is always accompanying you, as though it wants to drag you to hell…”

Zheng patted Jie’s shoulder. He sat next to Jie and asked, “That’s Nightmare on Elm Street, right?”

Jie nodded gloomily. “You couldn’t imagine what we experienced in that movie. Almost twenty of us died, and everyone’s death was miserable. We wanted to run. The experienced survivors led us to rob a car then we kept driving along the highway. No one dared to sleep, and even if you fell asleep, the others would wake you up. Just like that, we lasted for 5 days. Then a town appeared in front of us. We drove inside the town in joy then realized this was the town in the movie! And the experienced survivor that was driving this whole time had became that demon! He laughed at us…”

Jie was shivering like a pendulum. This man that had kept his cool the whole time was breaking down. Zheng tried to diverge the topic. “Then can those magical items kill that demon?”

Jie took a smoke and shook his head. “I don’t know. That was my first movie, I am only alive due to luck. You know where I got that scar on my face? That demon cut it with a pair of scissors! I didn’t have God cure these scars because I want to remember everything. If I meet him again, I will kill him!”

Zheng and the other two looked at each other. They felt a sense of fear. Fear of their future.

Lan asked, “What’s a rank B side quest reward? Is it important?”

Jie nodded. “We will continue on the third category of things you can exchange. Support items: like antidotes, drugs with healing properties, perishables like bullets, some sci-fi items like invisible cloaks, and enhancement items.”

“I was overjoyed when I saw the enhancement items. Like the genetic mutation of Spider-Man. The description said it lets you obtain the bloodline of Spider-Man; increasing intelligence by 20, mental capacity by 20, cell vitality by 50, reaction speed by 100, muscle density by 100, and immunization by 150 points. And you also get the web shooter ability. All this for just 2000 points.”

Zheng and the other two was surprised. Lan counted then said, “The enhancements alone would cost 3000 points, and you get a web shooter ability. This is too cost effective, why didn’t you exchange it?”

Jie waved his hand with a bitter smile. “I did want to. If I had this genetic mutation then I won’t be in danger in movies like Resident Evil. But this type of enhancement costs side quest rewards. Rank A reward can be reduced to three rank B rewards. Rank B can be reduced to three rank C and so forth. The lowest rank is D. I have only seen the reward appear once. It isn’t something you can easily get.”

Zheng held in the urge to tell them he had a rank B reward. He asked, “What rank reward does the Spider-Man mutation needs?”

Jie took out another cigarette. “It needs a rank C reward. I have also looked at a few rank D enhancements. Like battle Qi, rank D gives you entry level Qi, but the high level Qi would require rank B or even A rewards.”

“There’s also T-virus mutation, like the one Alice has. It increases intelligence by 20, mental capacity by 20, cell vitality by 50, reaction speed by 50, muscle density by 50, immunization by 100, and the evolution ability of T-virus. It needs 1500 points and a rank C reward. It’s so lucky to be the main character of this movie. She gets it without doing anything.”

Zheng felt he was blessed. This meant once he lived through this movie, he could exchange for quite a few enhancements. He had some more hope in his future.

Jie then said in a mysterious voice, “There are also some high level enhancements. But they are there just to entice you. I won’t believe they actually exist. Like the bloodline of God. It needs a rank S reward and 50000 points. Isn’t that exaggerating? There’s also Xiuzhen (Taoist method of gaining immortality). It has less basic stats, but you gain special skills. It needs a rank S reward and 70000 points.”

Zheng and Lan laughed at his words, but Xiaoyi’s eyes flared up.

"This time he didn't beat anyone up." Charlotte shivered as Wong entered the room with Louise held into the air by her legs.

"Argh put her down you beast!" The headmistress froze for a moment and screamed.

"Who are you to order me to do something?" Wong glanced over the headmistress.

"I am the head of this school and as you are a student here you must abide to the rules on the contract." The headmistress replied haughtily.

"I never signed the contract." Wong dead panned.

"Your parent or guardian did then." The headmistress raised her nose higher.

"I don't have a parent or guardian." Wong slammed the body of Louise onto the floor creating cracks that spread like a spider web. The headmistress turned extremely pale at this.

"Put in into the detention centre and make him stay there for a week with the fighters." The headmistress glowered at Wong angrily. Wong flashed a grin and followed Charlotte to the detention centre.

"Go to room 15." Charlotte quickly ran out of the detention centre. Wong looked towards the door where Charlotte had left from and remembered his goal. Get stronger! Although Wong had enough strength to humiliate most adults he didn't have a very bulky body. Instead, his body could be considered tall and lanky.

Wong looked at his statistics.

Stamina: 15

Mana: 15

Health: 14

Charisma: 11

To become buff Wong would have to train his health. This can be trained with workouts or the extreme way, being beaten up. Of course Wong couldn't just beat himself up so he eyed the people in his detention room. They had bulging biceps and looked mean.

"They could probably do the job." Wong muttered too loudly.

"What was that kid?" The bulkiest one, who appeared to be the leader stood up and walked over to Wong. Fortunately Wong was the tallest in the room and looked down towards the guy.

"I was saying that you guys could probably beat me up." Wong nodded slowly.

"Let's test it out shall we?" The leader snickered and jabbed towards Wong. The next moment Wong picked him up and threw his to the side of the room and caused another dent in the wall. The rest of the people froze and looked at their leader groaning in pain.

"You come here and beat me up." Wong pointed at one of them.

The one who was being pointed at felt a chill and replied "No thanks I think I'm fine."

Wong simply slammed him onto the wall next to the leader to make an example. "The rest of you come here and beat me up." This time all of them responded and started to hit Wong.
2 hours later…

"Time for dinner!" The dinner lady walked from one room to another until she got to room 15. Watching the scene inside for a moment she pushed the cart of food into the room and shut the door.

"Gosh that poor kid was being bullied but why were the bullied looking so tired?" The dinner lady patted her chest and walked towards room 16.
