Di Hao could feel his head spinning already.
To make matters worse, he was there as a spirit.
Under his current 'soulful' circumstances, he preferred the shade to the light. An average human's soul would not even make it in the light. It would perish as soon as it touched a glimpse of sunlight.
But Di Hao was the master of heavenly law, which granted his soul an immense power to stay alive even under the sun. He could even make himself a physical body solely by solidifying elements from the air. No one could possibly tell the difference.
For the past five days, Di Hao was stranded in the desert. Nothing felt right for him.
He became even more frustrated when he saw the little fatty next to him.
If it had not intercepted him, he would have long discovered where Fan Qianshi was hiding. All of his problems would have been solved right there.
When he noticed that something was not quite right, he decided to use the Tracing Spell to check it out. Coincidentally, his spell collided with the Dream Entering Spell from the candle dragon.
Di Hao had a general idea of how the spell of a candle dragon worked, so he immediately realized that Fan Qianshi must be behind it.
He had quite a hard time trying to find out Fan Qianshi's location, so the interruption was an opportunity he could use. The boy acted as if he was struggling just to cause a scene. 
However, seeing his struggles prompted the candle dragon to comfort him. It promised that no harm would be done. Its master was only asking him to go as a guest.
Di Hao did not trust its words, of course. So, in order to make his struggle look more convincing, he continued to act like he was trying to break free throughout the journey, only on a milder scale.
They were passing by the desert just when he thought that he had put up enough of a show and was ready to fight for real. But it was then that the pink candle dragon suddenly jumped in. It decided to help.
The pink candle dragon's Kung Fu was not very strong, so it could not be considered as an opponent at all. Nevertheless, the black candle dragon that belonged to Fan Qianshi was obviously awestruck at the sight of the pink candle dragon. In an unexpected twist, the black one decided to back off like a gentleman with its eyes glistening with love.
Therefore, Di Hao was left stranded here in the desert, along with the pink candle dragon.
The candle dragon was only trying to be helpful, though it was not what Di Hao wanted. Nonetheless, he never complained about it and thanked the candle dragon for its interception.
It did not take long before he realized the severity of his situation. He was told that the sun never sets in the desert and that he would never be able to leave.
The place was so strange, and so was the fatty.
When Di Hao first arrived, the fatty thought it was invisible to him.
It squatted right in front of him and carefully studied his body from head to toe with both eyes locked on him in close proximity like it was studying a very rare specimen.
Di Hao did not find it comfortable, so he politely asked what it was up to.
At the time, the fatty seemed rather shocked by the question. "Wait, you can see me?"
Di Hao was, in turn, surprised by its lack of observation. How could he not see its big body lying around in front of him? Its body was so huge that it covered half of his sight.
He assured the candle dragon that he could see it, entirely, even the lantern that was hanging on top of its head.
He was pretty sure that his answer was ordinary and straightforward, which was nothing to be excited about, but the fatty reacted very differently. Enthusiastically, it rose into the sky and made a swift circle in the air. It leaped into action with so much energy that the nearest sandy hill to them had collapsed. Even the ground was still a little shaky.

To start with, anoint your candle with the peppermint oil. Visualize the oil charging your candle with a green energy. Now, visualize this energy drawing in money or financial profit.
Place the candle at the center of the green piece of paper. Around its edges draw money symbols or other symbols that represent what you want this spell to draw in. When you are finished slowly sprinkled the herbs around the edges of the symbols and candle. Visualize these herbs and symbols helping to further charge your spell with your intent.
Now, take the white sheet of paper and write down what exactly it is that you want. Visualize yourself having the money that you need, etc. When you are done, light the candle and close your eyes. Continue to visualize your desire, your intent. As you do so, slowly chat:

Cat Instincts
Set the big leaf down while saying, "Bast, goddess of cats, give me the reflexes and instincts of the cat and I give you this offering." Put the pine cone in and say, "Give me long, soft hair, like the fur of a cat." Put the stick in and say, "Give me a strong, flexible structure like the cat." Rub the stones together, put them in and say, "Give me the nighttime sight of the cat, the vision is greater than mine."
Lastly, put the small leaf in and say, "And give me great hearing, to hunt down my prey." Place the offering in a sacred spot outside, and chant 3 times, "Hum-bay-gat-a." Then say once, "By the power of three, so mote it be!" By the next day, the offering should be gone. Wait a few days for the effects to take place.

For this spell, you need to know exactly what time you were born (e.g. 1:59 pm). In the minutes building up to your birth time hold your hands together and imagine a ball of energy inside you slowly waking up and turning on. Light the candle and visualize within the flame that your goal is complete, so you would visualize yourself happy, then get your piece of paper and write what you want the invoked deity to do for you. Then what you want to do is fold the paper toward you, then turn it clockwise and fold it toward you again. What you need to do then is burn the piece of paper while chanting. Underneath if you have not chosen a pantheon, I will put the invocation of Hathor, then chant:

Leave an offering to Hathor after the spell has worked okay if you don't have anything suitable as an offering then simply write on a piece of paper:

Visualize a white gold energy in and around yourself. Now hold this visualization, only this time visualize yourself as physically fit. Hold this visualization while affirming ''I am physically fit''. Affirm 5-10 times. Be sure to do this on a regular basis for results.

Better singing spell
Chant this 5 times:

altar fire candle. Place the purple candle in a safe place as to not be

candle burning, repeat quietly to yourself, LOVE is the Key! LOVE is the LAW!

Element PPF
Using the chalk draw a large pentacle with a candle at each of the points of the pentagram. Now surrounding the pentacle draw the symbols as follows:

• Spirituality,

• Friendship
Now you should place the picture of the person you want to be as the target.
Start meditating, as your body drifts off light each candle as you light each one you will need to imagine energy moving from your heart, lungs, and head into the pentacle and through the candles connecting with the spirits, gods, and goddesses getting more and more intense but having a calming effect at the same time.
Once you feel calm and relaxed, you need to chant this three times: (or as many times as needed)

Open your plastic bag and place your Sweet Pea Petals inside in the bottom visualizing a new friendship being planted
Drop the dirt on top of the petals in the bag, imagining a new friendship growing.
Carefully place your Lemon Peelings on top of the dirt, and sprinkle the Rosemary next to the Lemon peelings.
Close the bag carefully while saying the following chant:
"I open myself up for new friendship, allowing it to grow as long as it needs. I request the God and Goddesses help in hand leading me to the right friendship for me. While this candle is their guiding light, I will be looking for their sight. This is my will, this is my plea, so mote it be"
Light the candle while doing the chant and place it on top of the bag, if needed, place a metal jar lid on top of the plastic bag then put your candle on that, allow the candle to go out on its own, pay attention to the smoke of the candle fire. If needed, snuff out the candle.
When the candle has burned all the way down and has gone out on its own you may bury the bag outside. If you choose not to bury it, you may place it in a safe place where it won't be bothered.

Anti-depressant
THIS NEEDS TO BE PREPARED A DAY EARLY!
Wrap the hair in yellow fabric. If it's long woman's hair, roll it into a ball first.

Turn off the light.
Take the fabric hair wrap and let the flame touch it a little, only a small bit of flame. Make sure each candle fire has touched it once. Best if it happens 3 times though.
Set the burning fabric and hair into the center of the honey, herbs, and candles.

Maurice turned around. He could see no one! Then he looked down and saw a big wall clock with a 
cold, frowning face. Beside him was a smiling candle stand! Maurice grabbed the clock and 
examined it. "This is impossible. Why – you're alive!" The enchantress had turned all the 
Prince's servants into household objects. 
As the wall clock protested, the candle stand led Maurice into the sitting room. There he met a 
friendly teapot named Mrs. Potts and her son, a cute teacup named Chip. Suddenly, the door opened. 
A voice boomed. "There's a stranger here…" 
Maurice jumped out of his chair. In the shadows was a large, ugly figure. "Please… I need a place to 
stay…" 
"I'll give you a place to stay!" The Beast grabbed Maurice and pulled him out of the room. 
Back home at the cottage, Belle heard a knock at the door and opened it. "Gaston! What a 'pleasant' 
surprise!" 
"Belle, every girl in town would love to be in your shoes. Do you know why? Because I want to 
marry you!" 
"Gaston, I don't know what to say! I'm sorry, but… but… I just don't deserve you!" 
As Gaston was leaving, he tripped and fell in the mud. When Belle looked out, she saw that the 
villagers had come together, hoping to see a wedding. The priest and all Gaston's friends saw him 
lose face! 
After the villagers and an angry Gaston left, Belle ran outside to feed the chickens. There she found 
her father's horse, alone. "Philippe! What are you doing here? Where's Papa?" 
The horse made some light sounds. Frightened, Belle jumped onto Philippe and returned to the 
mysterious forest. Soon, they found the castle. "What is this place?" Then she saw her father's hat on
the ground. 
Belle hurried inside the gloomy castle and wandered down the wide, empty corridors. "Papa? Are 
you here? It's Belle." No one replied, but Belle didn't know that the Enchanted Things had seen her. 
With joy, the candle stand danced around the wall clock. "Don't you see? She's the one? She has 
come to break the spell!"Without noticing them, Belle continued to search for her father. 
Finally, Belle discovered Maurice locked in a tower. "Papa! We must get you out of there!" Suddenly 
she heard a voice from the shadows. "What're you doing here?" 
Belle gasped. "Please let my father go. Take me instead!" 
"You would take his place?" 
Belle asked the voice to come out into the light. She was horrified when she saw the huge, ugly 
Beast. To save her father, Belle agreed to stay in the Beast's castle forever. 
The Beast pulled Maurice out of the castle and threw him into a carriage that would take him back to 
his home in the town. There, he entered a tavern where he saw Gaston surrounded by his friends. 
"Please, I need your help! A horrible beast has locked Belle in a dungeon!" 
"Does it have cruel, sharp teeth?" one villager joked. 
Maurice grabbed the man's coat. "Yes! Yes! Will you help me?" 
"We'll help you, old man." Gaston and his pals threw the inventor out. But Maurice's story gave 
Gaston an idea. 
At the castle, Belle nervously followed the Beast upstairs. He paused for a moment. "The castle is 
your home now, so you can go anywhere you like… except the West Wing." 
Belle stared back. "What's in the West Wing?" 
"You MUST NOT go there! It's forbidden!" The Beast opened the door to her room. "You will join 
me for dinner. That's not a request!" After the Beast left, Belle threw herself on the bed. "I'll never 
escape from this prison – or see my father again!" 
That night, Belle refused to eat with the Beast. Instead, she crept downstairs to the kitchen. All the
Enchanted Things gave her food and entertained her. The wall clock agreed to take her on a tour. 
Belle halted beneath a dark staircase. "What's up there?" 
"Nothing, absolutely nothing of interest in the West Wing." 
But when the wall clock wasn't looking, Belle slipped away and ran up the staircase to a longhallway lined with broken mirrors. She slowly and carefully opened the door and entered a dark, 
dirty room. On the floor were broken furniture, torn curtains, and gray, broken bones. The only 
living thing was a rose, shining from under a glass bowl. Enchanted, Belle lifted the cover and 
touched one soft, pink petal. She did not hear the Beast enter the room. 
"I warned you never to come here!" The Beast walked towards Belle. "GET OUT! GET OUT!!" 
Terrified by his anger, Belle turned and ran. She rushed past the wall clock and the candle stand as 
she fled the castle. " Promise or no promise, I can't stay here another minute!" She found Philippe, 
the horse, and they galloped through the snow until they met a pack of angry, hungry wolves. 
Terrified, the horse stood up and Belle fell to the ground. When Belle tried to defend Philippe, the 
wolves attacked her. 
Suddenly, a large paw pulled the animals away from her. It was the Beast! 
As Belle tried to get to her feet, the wolves turned and attacked the Beast. When the fight ended, 
the surprised wolves ran away and the Beast collapsed, wounded. Belle knew that this was her 
chance to escape, but when she looked at the fallen Beast, she could not leave him. "Here, lean 
against Philippe. I'll help you back to the castle." 
Meanwhile, in the town Gaston and LeFou were plotting to have put Maurice put in a mad house 
unless his daughter, Belle, agreed to marry Gaston. 
Back at the castle, Belle cleaned the Beast's wounds and thanked him for saving her life. Later, she 
was quite surprised when he showed her a beautiful library. "I can't believe it! I've never seen so 
many books in all my life!" The Beast smiled for the first time. "Then it's yours!" 
That evening, Mrs. Potts and the other Objects watched as Belle read a story to the Beast. They were 
filled with hope that the Beast and Belle would fall in love. 
Gradually, the mood in the castle began to change. Belle and the Beast read together, ate together, 
and played together in the snow. They even had a snowball fight! When Belle watched the big, 
funny-looking Beast try to feed some birds, she realized that he was kind and gentle – something that 
she hadn't seen before. In turn, the Beast started to hope that Belle would begin to care for him. He 
tidied his room, bathed, and dressed up for the evening. He was overjoyed when Belle taught him 
how to dance. 
That evening, the Beast asked Belle if she was happy. "Yes, I only wish I could see my father. I miss 
him so much.""There is a way." The Beast showed Belle the magic mirror. In it, she saw her father lost in the 
woods, ill from his search for her. When the Beast saw the unhappy look on Belle's face, he decided 
to let her go, even if it meant he would never be human again. Before Belle left, he gave her the 
magic mirror. "Take it with you so you'll always have a way to look back and remember me." 
Heartbroken, the Beast watched as Belle climbed on Philippe and rode away. When she found her 
poor father in the forest, Belle took him to their cottage so she could nurse him back to health. But as 
soon as they arrived, a tall, thin man knocked on the door. It was Mr. D'Arque! He had come to take 
her father to his mad house! LeFou had convinced the villagers that Maurice was crazy because he 
was always talking about some terrible beast! 
"No! I won't let you!" Belle blocked the way. Gaston put his arm around Belle. "I can clear up this 
little misunderstanding – if you marry me. Just say yes." Belle showed them the Beast in the magic 
mirror. "He's not ugly and cruel. He's really kind and gentle." 
Enraged, Gaston shouted. "She's as crazy as the old man! I say we kill the Beast!" The mob of 
villagers went to the castle, locked Belle and her father in the cellar and looked for the Beast. As the 
villagers fought the Enchanted Things, Gaston forced the Beast up to the castle roof. He beat the 
Beast who didn't even try to resist. "Get up! Or are you too 'kind and gentle' to fight back?" 
In the meantime, Chip had helped Belle and Maurice escape from the cellar. When the Beast saw 
Belle, he grabbed Gaston by the throat. But his love for Belle had made him too human. He let 
Gaston go and looked at Belle. Without warning, Gaston stabbed the Beast in the back! The Beast 
roared. Gaston stepped back – and fell off the roof to his death. 
Wounded, the Beast gazed at Belle before he collapsed. She ran to him and held him in her arms. 
"No! Please! I love you!" 
The rain began to fall gently. Slowly the Beast opened his eyes and in astonishment, he watched his 
paws change into hands. He held them out to Belle. "Belle, it's me!" 
Belle hesitated and then looked into his eyes. "It's you!" 
The Prince drew her close and kissed her. Then they watched happily as Cogsworth the wall clock, 
Lumiere the candle stand, Chip, Mrs. Potts, and all the other servants once again became human. 
True love had finally broken the spell, and everyone danced for joy..!!

Amelia set the bushels of freshly picked plants down on the chair that Silvana had fallen asleep in.

“Why did my little Sylvie just run off like that?” Amelia asked with real worry. 

Kurt held back a smile and pressed a hand to his red cheek. He acted as though the mark Silvana had left on him truly stung.

Amelia felt the rage in her throat when she asked, “Kurt, did she slap you?” 

Kurt winced as Amelia pressed a hand to his cheek and said, “She did, but it’s not like you think.”

“I think,” Amelia said, placing her hands on her hips with the raging fireplace behind her, “that she better have a damn good reason for putting her hands on you.”

Kurt feigned worry, jumped to his feet, and hugged Amelia. His gentleness soothed her slightly and he told her, “Hey now, take it easy. This is a big misunderstanding.”

“I would hope so!” Amelia yelled.

Kurt looked her in the eyes and with complete compassion and empathy said, “The most embarrassing thing happened. I was helping to get those knots out from her back when she fell asleep. That baggy shirt of hers got caught when she slipped over and dozed off, and I accidentally unhooked her bra.”

Kurt shook his head and pressed a palm to his forehead, “I can’t believe such a thing happened, and I owe her a sincere apology.”

Still fuming, Amelia said, “Well, it’s not like an accident like that justifies her lashing out at you. Nobody hurts my man!”

Kurt led her closer to the bathroom door and so Silvana could hear, he said, “Amelia, she’s going through a lot. What she’s feeling now is totally deserved.”

Inside, Silvana clipped her bra back to place and splashed water onto her face. She patted her face dry and let her anger simmer for a second. 

Had Kurt just made an honest mistake? 

She wanted to believe so, but her instinct was telling her that he acted as rotten as she originally thought he was. 

Kurt knocked on the bathroom door and Silvana noticed how disheveled she was with her hair ratty and unbrushed, and her eyes laced with thick crow’s feet. She couldn’t remember the last time she’d slept soundly, and she had fallen asleep during the worst time. 

She recalled her pleasant dream of Kurt and Amelia kayaking out in the lake while she cooked eggs and Bruce chopped wood for the fire. They would roast marshmallows at night and pass around a whiskey bottle, and have couples’ movie nights where they’d rotate who chose what they’d watch. She thought about how happy Amelia had been with Kurt, and how perfect their lives would be if these two werewolf brothers got along.

Silvana thought about how Kurt called her his sister, and she chose to give him the benefit of the doubt that his actions hadn’t been purposeful, though that didn’t change the fact that such contact was reserved strictly for her loyal Alpha. 

If Kurt was acting, he was doing a damn good job when he knocked on the bathroom door and said, “Silvana, about what just happened, I’m so terribly sorry. Whatever anger you feel towards me right now I understand. Please understand that wasn’t my intention, and that I’m happy to speak with you further if you’re comfortable doing so.”

Amelia was impressed. This was how her rough-around-the-edges-man spoke, so elegantly, proving that his tattered denim clothing and raggy demeanor was only a product of his upbringing and a choice of style. 

What really mattered was how he took things on the chin like a man, and accepted responsibility for his mistakes.

Silvana exited the bathroom. 

“It’s okay, Kurt,” she said, rolling her shoulder. “I appreciate you helping me out. These things happen.”

Silvana rubbed a finger to her tired, itchy eyes and said, “I’m sorry for slapping you.”

“I deserved it,” Kurt grinned. “Though maybe next time you could avoid my money-maker.”

“I know I’d appreciate that!” Amelia added. 

She touched the back of Silvana’s arm. “How are you feeling, lovie-girl?”

“Exhausted,” Silvana admitted. She found more strength inside herself and said, “But I’m ready to find Bruce if you both are.”

Kurt clapped and said, “Let’s do it, sis.”

And when Silvana got close to him and Amelia, he opened up for a hug. 

“I’m sorry, again,” he said sincerely. 

Silvana gave him a quick hug, focusing more on getting down to business. 

Amelia handed Silvana the supplies for the spell. 

Eager to show off new magic, Silvana blew a kiss to a long, unlit red wax candle. The wick ignited with a magical pink flame.

“That was super,” Amelia said. “Should I call you Guardian now, or later?”

“Let’s hold off on any of that,” Silvana smirked. “Maybe after we find Bruce we can all get away from the spirits and courts and councils for a while.”

“So how exactly do we do this thing?” Kurt asked, crossing his arms.

“It’s not too complicated,” Silvana said, pouring the wax from a candle in a massive and elaborate symbol that resembled a five-point star inside a circle made of tree branches. 

“You’ve really been practicing,” Amelia remarked, astounded at the detail of the symbol. 

“Isn’t this going to stain our wooden floors?!” Kurt asked, considering how much he’d spent on the cabin.

“Oh honey,” Amelia said, patting Kurt’s head, “that’s just simply not how magic works.”

“Well,” Kurt said, watchful, “this isn’t exactly my speciality. How does it work?”

Silvana laced the middle of the circle with a bundle of tarragon, a bushel of bright green coriander, and marked it with an X-shape of long strands of mint vines.

“Observe,” Silvana said.

“Looks like my spice rack,” Kurt teased. “Are you seasoning a steak?”

“Funny,” Silvana said playfully. “But tarragon is a component for passion, coriander is used for intellectual pursuits, and mint for finding one’s true love.”

“Right,” Kurt affirmed with a wavering nod. 

“And now all we need,” Amelia said, holding a piece of old parchment, “is to write a map from the spell that leads us right to Bruce.”

Kurt put his hands up and said, “You don’t really expect me to believe that you’re going to turn that ragged old piece of paper into a map to find—“

Silvana’s eyes glowed pink as Amelia set the parchment on top of the herbs. 

“Take a step back, sweetie,” Amelia told Kurt.

He did so just in time to avoid the wax’s combustion into a circle of deep purple flames as tall as the ceiling. The herbs burned like the fuse to a stick of dynamite, and the map floated four feet in the air. Squiggly blue lines etched themselves onto the parchment, indicating the cabin, the city, and then becoming more detailed.

“This can’t be happening,” Kurt said. 

“Oh it can,” Amelia giggled. “There’s nobody like my little Sylvie.” 

“Now just think of your big Brucie!” Amelia said encouragingly.

Strands of Silvana’s hair floated above her head, and she stuck both her hands out before the raging flames as she further enchanted the map with her family’s magic words, “Tu Fui, Ego Eris.”

The map turned a deep blue, and dots started to fizzle and sizzle upon areas of the map. 

“That’s it Silvana,” Amelia shouted over the crackling fire, “You’re getting closer.”

The paper burned with little blue dots marking possible locations where Bruce could be, and less and less dots started to fizzle out. Only three were left when Silvana stumbled and fell to a knee. 

“Hey, what’s wrong?” Kurt asked, running over to Silvana. He looked at Amelia. “Is she okay?”

Silvana panted like she’d sprinted up ten flights of stairs. 

“I don’t think I’m strong enough,” Silvana said. “This spell is giving me a headache.”

Then Silvana’s stomach grumbled loudly, and Amelia laughed. 

“Oh, you’re plenty strong,” she told Silvana. “Our culprit is your empty stomach.”

Amelia ran to the kitchen and returned with smoked meats. 

“Babe,” Amelia said, tilting her head to Kurt. “Why is the only real food in this house different kinds of meat?”

Kurt shook his head and rubbed his neck. “You’re talking to a werewolf, honey. Our diet is pretty consistent.”

Silvana graciously accepted a log of soppressata and said, “I’ll happily take anything.” 

Amelia offered her best friend a glass of wine and said, “Here, can’t hurt to loosen up either.”

Refreshed from food and drink, Silvana attempted the spell once more. 

Again, flames rippled throughout the floor and to the ceiling, and the map shimmered with blue spots. 

“Just like that, Sylvie!” Amelia said. 

Even Kurt rooted her on and said, “There you go! You’re getting there!”

Focused, concentrating, and with her eyes shut, Silvana felt the dots disappearing one by one. 

Finally, a single dot remained. 

She opened her eyes. 

Kurt scratched his head and Amelia mumbled, “That’s not possible.”  

The map displayed Bruce inside of Silvana’s house. 


She reached out a hand to Bruce and said, "I thought I was your mate."

Bruce turned his back on her and scratched at his eyes. Silvana could feel the pressures he was facing and only wanted to help.

"I think we're stronger than the obstacles around us," Silvana said, her voice distorted by sobs.

"As much as I want to be with you, Silvana, we need to end this for your safety."
Silvana watched the rain turn the grass under her feet muddy.

"Is that really how you feel?" she asked.

But before Bruce could offer his heart's secrets to the woman he loved, crimson lightning struck between the two of them. Silvana and Bruce blasted backwards and tumbled into the mud.

Standng before them was a red, cackling spirit made of lightning. She wore wolfskin clothes and waved a hand.

Scalret lightning wolves howled, then attacked Bruce and Silvana.

I looked at the red gem in my hand. It looked no different than before. Red, bright, cold, and callous as any other stone. ''What can I do with this thing?'' I asked. The fox was still on the bed, caressing Rosa's face, lying unconscious. I was told that knowledge and memories are passed on from generation to generation, but I wonder if there is any other way of exchanging information?
 
The fox walked away from Rosa, reached for my hand with its little furry paws, and touched the stone. ''Lots of things can be done. What can you do? It's up to you, darling. Why don't you tell me what you can do?''
 
I noticed that the fox's paws were lighter and colder than they should have been. It was struggling to maintain its physical form. I was running out of energy. ''Except for healing hymns, I have never studied runes. I know nothing about black magic,'' I said.
 
''Hmm,'' the fox disappeared from the bed and didn't appear anywhere inside the room. ''There are a few simple will breaking methods used by cheap slave traders. However, they turn the subject into mindless animals that cannot think of anything but food and sex.''
 
I frowned, this wasn't exactly what I was hoping for. ''What else?''
 
''If you don't want to use the soul as fuel and want to keep it with you, there are runes that you can engrave on the gem that will make her obey certain someone, or anyone via a certain word, but won't change anything other than that,'' it said.
 
A beam of light trickled through the window. It was full of faith that causes the light to be hostile against me. Looking at the girl breathing deeply, I thought she no longer looked like she had fainted, but just asleep. Her black outfit was torn in some spots, showing her newly healed pink skin. ''Can I really do this? Can I make her obey me?''
 
''If you know the spell, of course, you can.''
 
Rolling my eyes, I approached the window to see the source of the light beam. ''Won't you tell me the spell?''
 
''How did you come to the conclusion that I know the spell? If I know, that means that Malice also knows, which is the opposite of your freedom now. Do you feel like invisible chains are wrapped around your throat?''
 
I saw several people were walking with candles in their hands through the window. They must have left the big convoy. Hoping the collective prayer was over, I pulled the curtain to cover the window.
 
''Wasn't Malice a super famous legendary figure among you? She must know. Why wouldn't she know?''
 
I saw the fox shake its head in disapproval, ''Among us. Not among you. As for your question, we do not encourage limiting the freedom of new members of the breed. We want them to embrace and love their new identity, not seeking a way to escape.''
 
''What a lovely... Then why take the souls?'' I asked.
 
''Simple,'' the fox said. ''To prevent the traitors. The candidates grow stronger over time and prove their reliability, and take their souls back. This is how it supposed to be. I told you really don't have to worry.''
 
''I prefer to eliminate any possibility of turning into a mindless animal as quickly as possible,'' I said and pinched Rosa's cheek, who was sleeping like a baby. ''It's morning baby, hurry up. I have things to do.''
 
Blinking, Rosa looked around as if she wasn't sure if it was a dream or a reality. With an instinct, she crossed her arms to protect herself. It probably wasn't a nice feeling to wake up in a room you don't know with someone who's definitely not your friend.
 
''You're free. Beware of the people roaming around with candles. Now go,'' I said. She looked at me with confused eyes. ''Why are you waiting for? A knight on a white horse? I don't think he's coming. Chop chop.''
 
She suddenly got out of bed and ran towards the door. I let her go. ''Maybe she wasn't lying when she said she didn't want to stay alone. She was attacked in her home right before you found her,'' the fox said.
 
I thought of the broken body lying on the white sheets. Humiliated for being unable to resist, her abused body was left to be found. ''Whatever. It's not my fight,'' I said watching her running away through the curtains.
 
After a few minutes of thinking I went out too. I had no choice to wait for the prey to come to me. ''Won't you wait for the tattoo guy? It's too dangerous to go outside now,'' the fox said.
 
I shook my head, ''Ender could be on his way coming here right now, or he might never be back. I couldn't rely on him.''
 
The wave of faith created by the convoy had fallen over the town like a shield. It was preventing me from finding Miran and limiting the scope of my skills. Even if I could find Miran, there was no way I could approach the temple or the convoy.
 
I trembled with a deep breath I took, ''In one corner of my mind I could feel the burning energy emanating from the temple, and with my eyes closed I could feel the flames from the temple's direction. I'd die of smoke before I even got close to her.''
 
The fox grimaced, ''Where are you planning to go?''
 
I was changing my path when I came across someone holding a candle, keeping going forward without a goal. I hesitated for a while, realizing I had nowhere to go. Perhaps the fox was right. I was a little too asocial. ''I... can check blacksmith to see if the armor is ready.''
 
Probably the blacksmith had already closed, but any goal was better than just wandering around. Surprisingly, the town square wasn't crowded. Most of the stores were closed already. ''I guess most of the people joined the convoy,'' the fox said.
 
Nodding, I headed to the blacksmith to try my chance but before I knocked on the door, I heard something. The tearing sound of the wind ending with a thud. Looking around, I heard the same thing one more time.
 
Without knocking on the blacksmith's door, I returned and headed towards the archery range. When I turned the corner, I held my breath with the yellow light I saw, but soon realized I wasn't hurt. Looking more closely, I realized that the light came not from a candle, but from a stone the size of a palm. A man made source of light, generally used by adventurers.
 
It wasn't too bright. Only two targets were in the bright field, the rest of the archery range was buried in the darkness. An arrow, that I couldn't see coming, hit the target. I looked into the darkness and asked the light to help me to see.
 
''Oh, it's your archer guy,'' the fox said but I wasn't sure if it was my archer guy. I knew the man standing in the middle of the archery field. I knew his hands holding the bow, his eyes looking at his target, his stance he used to teach newbies of the guild, but the expression on his face belonged to a stranger.
 
''I can't understand what he's feeling for the first time,'' I murmured.
 
''Maybe it's because of the prayer convoy?''
 
''Maybe,'' I said but I wasn't believing what I said. He reached to the quiver on his back and pulled an arrow. With the arrow in his hand, he kept his eyes on the target while stretching the bow and stood like this, without releasing the arrow.
 
''He got even more handsome with the deadly expression,'' the fox said. Arrow hit the target. I gulped. ''Just make sure you aren't the target.''
 
I exhaled the breath that I didn't realize I was holding, ''I'm trying.'' A light, almost gentle wind caressed my face. Hermes broke his stance and turned to me. I forced myself to smile and wave.
