February 1, 2011 Tuesday. 
Tayaw woke up in a white void. "WHOA!" He was scared out of his mind until he saw the gleaming "Arts Records" words in front of him. "Holy sh*t! I thought I died!" Tayaw exclaimed in relief as he calmed down. Since December, he has been ignoring the View Points in his vision whenever it shined after each million points achieved.  For example last December 28, while playing with his brothers around Ouigab, the View Points in his vision started gleaming when it reached 2 million. 
Today, just like when he was pulled in the white void after he reached 1 million View Points, he realized that his View Points accumulated to a special figure he could no longer ignore. He was proven right when he saw that the View Points displayed 10 million. He also could not leave the void no matter how much he shouts "I want to get out of here!" so left with no choice, he touched the letters of "Arts Records" to access the giant roulette.  The same giant roulette table appeared in front of him, but he noticed a small difference. Below the "Odd" and "Even" choices on the edge of the roulette table, are two 1-meter diameter disc shaped platforms made of silver and gold. He pondered what to do for a while and decided to step on the golden platform and shouted "EVEN!" before he threw the roulette ball into the wheel. As the roulette ball danced, his 10 Million View Points are also quickly reducing. As the Wheel stopped, his View Points emptied to Zero as well. "MY VIEW POINTS!" Tayaw yelled at the board. He was saving those points to roll for 'Works' or 'Skill Sets'. 
As if not hearing him, a tile on the table slowly floated up and stood vertically just like the last time. This time however, the white tile changed its color into gold and words appeared on it. "Random Ability x 1". The next second, the letters started morphing again on the tile and affixed them into new word saying "Post-congenital Absolute Pitch" before speedily smashing into Tayaw's head. Tayaw felt a cool breeze followed by a bad throbbing headache comparable to the pain he felt when he first experienced receiving something from the roulette. He felt like it even lasted longer than ever. After he opened his eyes, he finally found himself back in his apartment, the headache gone as if it never happened. 
After finding his bearings, he finally felt excited at his newly acquired ability. Judging from the dictionary definition of "Post-congenital Absolute Pitch", he just acquired an Acquired Perfect Pitch.  This ability is one that Tayaw only read in history books. Perfect pitch, from what he read is last seen in classical music composers who can identify or play a musical note without a reference note. Tayaw does not read music but in his skill with the guitar, but he has an idea how it works. He headed down to his newly soundproofed, acoustically treated basement studio and went to pick up his guitar. He opened the studio computer and played a random song through the speakers. After hearing a melody, he tried to play it in his guitar but he found the problem. While he can recreate a melody way easier than he used to, he cannot do it in first try; he cannot fully use his perfect pitch. After a few minutes of pondering what the problem was, he finally realized a possible answer. 
He realized that absolute pitch is more of a sense than an instinct and should be practiced extensively to be applied. If you ask a person which is the color blue in a chart of colors, they can point to it immediately. If you let a person smell an orange blindfolded, and ask them what they smelled, they will immediately identify it as orange. This is the same with absolute pitch. Compared to Tayaw's other senses, absolute pitch's difference is that one cannot use it without a wide database like how he already has a database of the names of colors in his head. So what he hears a note? Can he name the note? Does he have another sound of the same pitch he can associate the note with? Can he play it on his instrument on first try? 
With his question answered, he decided to first have to memorize and name all the notes he can play on the guitar. Even if he does, it's only a start. Just like how a normal person has knowledge of the names of the basic colors like blue, yellow, red, green, orange, and violet; Tayaw also has to know how the note sounds and which octave it belongs to. Just like how a painter knows the shades of violet; Tayaw also has to memorize the sounds and names of the notes that belong to an octave and where on the guitar they are. Just like how a painter knows which colors make up the color green; Tayaw also has to know how to differentiate individual notes that are played together in harmony so that he can reproduce it in the guitar. If he can achieve all of these, he can finally move on the next step: Application. 
Performance wise, he can apply his perfect pitch in improvising in stage. Just like how a singer adlibs when doing vocal runs; Tayaw can also improvise when riffing the guitar, only much more accurately, more spontaneously, and with less amounts of practice. If you compare Tayaw's current improvisation skill on the guitar to typing on the keyboard, Tayaw has only mastered using the numbers keypad and basic shortcut keys while looking at the keyboard. But if Tayaw's theory is correct, with enough practice, he can improvise just as easily as typing on the numbers keypad without looking. Given more time, Tayaw can finally master his application of his Perfect Pitch to the guitar, like how a touch typist has mastered all the keys in the keyboard and can type without looking.
People who had not theorized how perfect pitch work would think that perfect pitch can be trained. But as a musician, Tayaw knows it's impossible to memorize sound accurately. He himself only trained his ears to relative perfect pitch. A person with perfect pitch can immediately answer the question "What note is X?" Meanwhile, a person with relative perfect pitch will have to be asked "If this is note Y, then what is note X?" to identify Note X.
"Memorizing notes without a reference note. I can't even begin to imagine how to do that without absolute pitch." Tayaw smiled at himself as he plans how to train his newly acquired ability. He still has a long way of mastering it so he diverted his attention to another matter; his finances. Today is the day Topaz sent him the sales of his books in the month of January and his royalties. Because he already has a good idea on the number of book sales, he immediately logged in to his online banking account to see the transactions.   
After a few minutes, Tayaw closed the laptop a few million richer. After the international release of his book in December 15 last year, his books sold a combined 1.1 million copies in December alone. This netted him 2,500,00BGC in royalties after deducting Chala's shares. After the multiple language release that started in New Year's Day, his books sold a combined 3.4 million copies which netted him 8,000,000BGC after deducting Chala's shares. So today, he currently has 10.4 million BGC in his account. (5.2M USD)
He was already rich back in New Year's Day so he registered for two health insurance policies for himself, which is ironic because he's currently healthier than he ever felt. He also owns two life insurance policies with his brothers as beneficiaries. He also offered his parents to pay for the remaining mortgage in the house, which they accepted. With these expenses and still lots of money left, Tayaw does not know where to put his money in. He's still a minor so there are a lot of things he cannot buy or engage in with money without an adult supervising. For example, buying a house. He could have already bought the house in Ironstone, but his age limited him to. He also does not want to bother his parents to accompany him. 
If he knew he would be this rich this early, he could have convinced his parents for emancipation. But now, with only seven months before he turns major, applying for a long process of emancipation is meaningless. 
Today is the first official day of the school break. Tayaw is not intending to go back home to Okuba for the whole month and a half break from school. He made an excuse to his parents that he would be busy finalizing the second volume of his book, when in fact, he was already done transcribing and copyrighting  it during the exam week when he had nothing left to do. He also gave the manuscript to Chala and started the negotiations with Topaz Publishing. The reason why he wanted the whole school break for himself is to practice his skills freely. 
Him being originally a rhythm guitarist has great skills in modifying chords while playing but when it comes to his solo; he could only resort to riffs he practiced and learned from Hoon and other musicians in his previous life.  He would start his solo with chords then do riffs, then fill them more with appropriate chords based on the scale to sound fuller. Now that he plays his guitar with the stomp box, his usual solo no longer sounds full enough.  He now wants to insert chords in the riffs themselves to make it sound like a rhythm guitarist and a lead guitarist is playing at the same time. The sound he wants to achieve in his guitar playing would sound more close to blues and jazz guitarists than finger style guitarists. 
With his newly acquired sense however, he scratched his initial plan and would start mastering his perfect pitch. This new goal for him would be like hitting two birds with one stone. It would also be a start for his long journey with the guitar. He is only so far familiar with standard tuning and the dropped D tuning. With his perfect pitch, he can not only master standard tuning, but other tunings as well. 
After solidifying the plan in his head, he took his pick-up truck out of the garage and drove to East Ouigab's biggest butcher shops and supermarkets to buy food that will last him the whole school break. Aside from corresponding with Chala about the book, Tayaw will lock himself in his house and do nothing but learn and practice in his newly built 110,000BGC studio with instruments played by the people he knows.

Imagine a world where the protagonists start with every single thing anyone can ever dream of. Zero and his gang start as big shots, with a powerful background, an enormous amount of resources, dashing looks and god-like potentials... Everything seems perfect until they meet people at the same level.

Depressed by his performance in the game, Daichi could only look down as he made his way to the dugout. Rei slowly made his way to the box and when he crossed paths with Daichi, he gave a light pat on the shoulder with a reassuring smile. Daichi nodded with a bitter smile and went into the dugout. 
With Chino already at first base, Rei knew there was now more chance of scoring a run. He got into his developing stance once again and kept in his mind about the change in speed required. He was too late for the previous at-bat and needed to be quicker on this one. 
The first pitch was thrown and Rei noticed it was going to be a fastball right down the middle. He quickly bought his bat down, quicker than his usual timing, and connected with the ball. As soon as it connected, he knew he made a mistake again. This time swing was too quick. The ball could still safely make it over the 2nd base and fall in front of the centerfielder. 
Chino could reach the 2nd base safely, while Rei made it to the 1st base. Rei got ready as he took some lead to taunt the pitcher, but it didn't work. The next batter was Akira, and the opponents did something Rei didn't consider. 
The catcher stood up and openly walked Akira. Rei knew this was a safer bet and they could go for Shiro. Rei slowly walked to the next base. Now, with all bases filled up, there was immense pressure on the pitcher. 
Shiro walked into the box as he tightly gripped the bat, thinking about using this chance the most. The first pitch came and Shiro swung his bat, the ball flew into foul territory making the pitcher exhale in relief. 
The next pitch came in quick and was an outside pitch. Shiro left the ball, not willing to take the risk at the moment. The third pitch came in high and Shiro swung his bat and perfectly connected it. The ball flew into the right field and the fielder Toda ran towards the ball. 
He went right under the ball and as he caught it; he didn't stop after noticing how close Chino was to the home plate and threw the ball right back home with all his strength. The speed he threw was at the level of Sora's and the ball reached the catcher before Chino reached home, making it the third out. 
Rei cursed, noticing the speed of Toda's throw, and knew it would be an out. He made his way back to the dugout with the other runners. He quickly wore his gear before making his way back to the field. They weren't able to use the perfect opportunity last inning, and Rei knew this would be one tough inning for Suzaku to pitch in. 
As he jogged towards his position, he turned towards Suzaku and said, "Stay calm Senpai." and separated from him. He got into his stance and noticed the opponent line-up was back to the beginning. This was the worst time this could happen. 
Rei noticed some changes with how the batter held his bat and the stance. He asked for an outside pitch to be safe, and the batter didn't even move a muscle for it. Rei exhaled and asked for a low pitch next. 
Suzaku nodded and pitched perfectly low, but the batter bought his bat down and connected correctly and the ball flew along the 3rd baseline. Rei stood up and noticed the ball flew above Kazuhiro, who couldn't reach it even after taking a jump. 
Shiro at the left-field was quick to act, caught the pitch after a single bounce, and threw it to the 2nd base. Chino caught the ball and turned around to see the batter returning to 1st base. 
Suzaku received the ball and got ready for the next batter. Rei got into stance and he noticed the runner taking quite some lead. He ignored it and asked the pitch to go inside. Suzaku noticed Rei ignoring the runner and ignored him too. He threw the ball right where he was asked, and the runner sprinted off to 2nd base. 
The batter didn't stay still and bought the bat down, connecting. The ball flew into the right field, but Kiyoshi was right under the ball, catching it perfectly. He noticed the runner safely at 2nd and threw it back to Suzaku. 
Rei got into position thinking about the next batter. The next batter was up, and Rei went for tough pitches this time. He asked all three pitches into the corners, making it tough for the batter. The batter could only foul all three of them. He then caught the batter off guard with a pitch to the inside after the consecutive outside pitches. 
Getting a nice strikeout boosted Suzaku's slowly falling confidence. But they were still on alert, noticing Toda standing in the box. Rei figured out that in terms of batting, Toda was on the same level as Akira. Both could hit home runs and helped teams in critical places. 
Toda came into the box, and Rei positioned the first pitch to the inside. He wanted to corner Toda before giving him any time to settle down. Suzaku pitched perfectly into the glove and Toda let it pass by. He was waiting for a good pitch to show itself. 
The next pitch was low. Toda left the pitch again and Rei threw it back. Now they were with 2 strikes and were in a good position. He decided to go with an outside pitch and finish this. Suzaku pitched and Toda bought his bat down. 
Rei knew even then it won't connect properly, but Toda did something different. He swung only with one hand, allowing him to reach farther and hit the ball perfectly. The ball flew into the left-field as Toda took off for the first base while the runner was already near the 3rd.
Shiro ran after the ball but he couldn't reach in time as the ball fell down. He picked it up, turned around, and threw it to Daichi, who was the cutoff man. Daichi caught it and turned around to throw it back home, but the runner reached before then and he noticed Toda already at 2nd base. 
He simply threw it to Suzaku and got back into position. Rei took a deep breath. This time he knew it was his mistake. He could easily figure out that Toda expected the pitch from him. He was ready to only bring a single hand down to reach the pitch. 
He got back into position. The next batter was up. Rei made it simple and asked a pitch right down the middle. Suzaku, who was feeling a bit of frustration from losing a round, used full force on it. The batter foolishly swung his bat and got jammed immediately. The ball flew up in the air and Akira got under it for the third out of the inning. 
Rei jogged back, feeling a bit helpless about the situation. He quietly sat down on his seat and looked at the ground. Suzaku was up first and got into position. He was feeling frustrated from the run he gave up and decided to prove it with the bat. 
He clutched it tightly as the pitcher threw an inside first. Suzaku left the pitch and then came a low pitch, making him leave it again. The 3rd one was right in the middle, and Suzaku did not lose the chance. He bought down the bat with all his strength and it got a perfect connection and flew into the center field. 
He started running to the 1st base and as turned to the 2nd he noticed he hit a home run. He slowly jogged through all the bases and finally hopped on the home plate and made his way to the dugout. The shot surprised Rei, and he smiled at the score. There was still a chance in the next inning. 
Carrying the momentum, Kiyoshi hit a double to the shortstop who couldn't get his hand on the ball properly. Rei looked at the situation with a smile and the next batter was Akamine. But the situation didn't continue from there. 
Akamine was impatient and made contact with the first pitch into the left-field and into the fielder's glove. Then came up Kazuhiro who fouled a couple of pitches and eventually hit the ball right into the shortstop's glove. 
But it didn't stop there. Kiyoshi took a big enough lead for him to get out, ending the inning. Rei stood up and made his way into his position. He exhaled, thinking about the inning. He needed to defend the inning and get a run in the next to claim the match. 
The first batter came up and Rei asked for a pitch to the middle. He had enough confidence to know only a few in the opponent's team can hit the pitch perfectly to get on a base. And as he predicted, the batter did the same mistake as the previous one and swung his bat only to not have enough strength and get caught by Shiro in the left field. 


Please be a bit patient for the first volume i.e 69 chapters which might be a bit stale, the first 69 chapters are used to build the characters around Rei and himself.

Joey was right-handed, tall, and threw like he was hurling the ball as hard as he can. His style made me tired just looking at him. Doesn't he feel exhausted putting so much effort into one pitch? 
The first pitch went high, almost eye-level with Noah, for ball one. The second pitch was a little bit closer, but still another ball. I could tell that Noah wanted to swing, but he was holding back. Joey currently had no control. Joey's third pitch got closer to the strike zone again, but Noah held up and let it pass for ball three. The fourth pitch was a borderline call...a call that went Noah's way for ball four. He earned a walk. Noah turned and tossed his bat back towards the dugout and jogged to first. 
Garret left the on deck circle and went to the lefty's box. 
I moved from the dugout entrance to the circle. I took a few light swings, still mostly focused on Joey. 
Mitchell had stayed standing for an extra beat before  squatting behind home plate. He gave the sign and Joey nodded. He got set, then went through his motion, throwing a rocket right down the middle. Garret let it pass for a called strike. Mitchell threw the ball back to Joey, who looked satisfied with that pitch. 
Garret took a step out the box and took a practice swing. With Joey now being abled to get the ball over the strike zone, he had to be ready to swing. Joey had a lot of similarities with Garret, but he didn't have a cutter. At least, I don't think so. I've only seen fastballs so far. 
The second pitch was high, but still within the zone. Garret didn't hesitate to swing and connect, putting the ball into play. The ball got over the infield and rolled to Tanner in right field for a single. 
I moved to the batter's box and made a last minute decision to bat right-handed against Joey. There wasn't any particular reason why I chose that side, but I figured I might want a better view of the ball coming out of his hands. 
"A minute." Mitchell stood up and went to the mound. 
I barely had any time to think about what he was going to talk to Joey about, because Joey sent Mitchell back. He didn't want to hear what Mitchell had to say apparently. Wow. So arrogant. 
Mitchell came back with pursed lips and got back into position. 
I got set and watched Joey with a better view now. He was tall. Six foot, by my guess. Slightly shorter than the twins, but looked bigger. Thicker. I guess he had more weight and more muscle. That could be why it looks like he throws super hard. 
His first pitch to me was a fastball inside. Really inside. I jumped back to avoid being hit. Ball one. I eyed him as he got the ball back from Mitchell. It didn't seem intentional, but it didn't look he was sorry about almost hitting me either. I got set again. 
He threw a fastball down the middle for a called strike. 1-1. 
Hmm. I think there was a difference between those two pitches. I focused more on the ball coming out of his fingers, looking for something different. As he cornered me on the next pitch, putting the count at 1-2, I started to foul off his pitches. Four. Five. Six. His pitch count grew. As did my confidence. 
Joey didn't have a breaking ball specialty pitch. What he did was switch between a two-seamer and a four-seam fastball. The four-seam was the generic fastball, whereas the two-seamer had some downward movement coming inside on my swing. 
After pushing him to the double digits in pitches, I settled on aiming for the normal fastball. That would be more likely to leave the field for a homerun than a ball with movement. 
It seemed like Joey had the same thought of bringing this at-bat to an end. He threw his fastest pitch right down the middle. I don't know how he thought he could beat me so straightforwardly, but I wasn't going to complain about such a perfect pitch to knock out. I took a step forward with my left and hurried my swing to meet the pitch. With perfect contact, I used all my power to hit the ball. It went right, flying over the infield, then over Tanner, and then finally over the fence. 
I ran the bases with ease and a small smile. I was no Zeke, but it was a good feeling to know that I could aim for homers now. I was stronger and this was just the beginning. 
"Jakeee." Sean complained as I rounded second. "Have mercy on us." He laughed, clearly joking. 
"What a blast!" Jason commented from third. 
I ran home and touched the plate. 3-0 lead. 
Garret and Noah has waited for me before going back to the dugout. One was patting my head while the other slapped my shoulder. These were my friends. The guys I could trust to be near me. 
I glanced at Ethan as we got back to our bags. 
He glanced at me. "Good hit." Them he quickly looked away. 
Mr. Miller must have had a talk with him like he said he would. 
"Here's your bat." Davin, a freshman from my morning group held out my wood bat. 
"Thanks." I put it away with my helmet. After putting my hat back on and turning back, I noticed that Davin was still around. "Uh...Yea?"

"I was just curious as to why you use a wood bat?" He asked. "I wanted to ask earlier in the group, but I figured it might be for training purposes."

I froze, unsure of what to tell him. I couldn't even touch an aluminum bat, let alone swing one. Wood is the only option. 
"To prepare for The Show." Noah jumped in to answer for me. "If you want to play in the big leagues, we can only use wood so might as well get a jump on it. But only if you bat as well as Jake does."

Davin nodded in an understanding manner. He said a few more words before heading back to his own bag. He bats seventh so he has a chance to come up to bat this inning. 
Noah put his elbow on my shoulder and leaned down a little. "Just use that as an excuse from now on. Not too many people will doubt it. You have the skill to use a wood bat so why worry."

I knocked him off my shoulder. "I know. I just didn't expect someone to ask me outright."

"I should probably start using a wood bat too." Noah said thoughtfully. "After high school, I'm going straight to the minors and we can't use aluminum bats there anyways."

"You can't just write off college so soon." I told him. 
He gave me a look. "Okay, 'Mom'."

I rolled my eyes. "Nothing wrong with playing in college. Zeke is doing it. The twins are going to do it."

Noah shook his head. "I'm not them. They aren't me. I have my own dreams, and my own path to get there." He looked at me. "Are you considering college?"

I shrugged and nodded at the same time. "Yea, probably."

"Where would you go?" He frowned. 
I shrugged again. "I don't know."

Zachary left the Death Valley right after Coach Johansen had finished naming the line-ups for the game. A weight had been lifted from his shoulders when the coach mentioned his name as part of the team. He walked taller. His stride was lighter, more carefree.
He was looking forward to the game against Viking FK.
The cold evening gave him a reason to rush back home—to his new apartment and enjoy the warmth of the heating system in his room. He quickened his step and reached Moholt within less than fifteen minutes.
"You're back." Kasongo flashed him a smile when he entered the small kitchen, also serving as their living room. Zachary noticed that he'd just placed some French fries and chicken breasts in the oven. The boy was someone who enjoyed his chicken. That was a conclusion made by Zachary after spending the past few days with him.
"How was it?" He asked, looking at Zachary expectantly.
Zachary grinned and said: "What do you think? I'm on the team."
Kasongo sighed. "Man, you're a lucky bastard. You're already going to play a match in Europe, whereas I'm stuck with physicals at the gym, day in day out."
"Just cut down on your meat consumption," Zachary advised. "You wouldn't need the physicals if you had no excess fat."
"Who's says that chicken increases fat? It's just because of my height that I've issues with my body fat percentage." Kasongo argued.
"Are you in the starting eleven?" He asked.
"I don't know yet. The coaches will name the starting team players tomorrow before the match. But I'll most likely not start." Zachary replied.
"That's understandable. You're a newbie on the team." Kasongo intoned. "Is the match going to be played in the main Lerkendal Stadium?" He asked.
"Yes," Zachary replied. The Lerkendal Idrettspark, owned by Rosenborg, consisted of the main stadium and three training pitches.  They were well managed and strictly controlled by the club's management. Their under-19 game against Viking Stavanger would take place in the main stadium.
"If you play, I will be there to cheer you on. Go and showcase the spirit of African football." Kasongo smiled. He then focused on cutting onions in preparations for their dinner. The two had resolved to cook in turns during their stay together in Trondheim. That day was Kasongo's turn.
Zachary didn't talk at length with Kasongo that night. He washed up, ate dinner, and headed back to his room to sleep by 9:00 PM. He was tired mentally and physically. The training had emptied his energy reserves.
However, he was glad that he'd taken another step towards achieving his dream of becoming a pro soccer player on the international stage.
Zachary felt good as he crawled beneath the sheets. He slept well that night, dreaming of himself lying in a bed of dollars.
The day of the match finally arrived.

The Nordmenn loved their soccer, or rather, their football teams. The people of Trondheim were no exception. Rumors about Rosenborg's under-19 match against Viking Stavanger had spread fast in the small city of Trondheim over the previous few days. They attracted a large number of fans that had arrived at the stadium two hours before the start of the match.
By 2:30 PM, the stands behind one of the goalposts were already fully occupied. That was the section of the stadium that often housed the staunch fans—also members of Rosenborg's supporter club during matches.
Kasongo could feel the adrenaline from the pitch to the stands and flowing right around the stadium. It was the sort of tension mixed with excitement that should not have occurred for a simple under-19 match. He was glad that he'd tagged along with a group of new friends to the stadium. And this was a particularly overzealous group of fans.
He looked expectantly towards his friend, Zachary. He was among the Rosenborg under-19s warming-up between the goalposts that stood sentry at either end of the perfect pitch. He looked the part of a real pro in the black Rosenborg training kit.

For Zachary, it was the perfect day with the ideal conditions in which to play his first match in Europe. The weather was gorgeous that afternoon. Blue skies, no wind, ambient temperature—it was more like an absence of weather. The usual autumn coldness was absent that Tuesday.
Lerkendal Stadium was millions of perfect grass strands as eager for the start of play as the fans who had already brought the stadium to light. Zachary could hear their loud cheers fueling his eagerness to perform. But at the same time, he was a bit overwhelmed by the atmosphere. It had been a long time since he last played in front of a crowd.
Zachary stretched his legs and watched the Viking FK players match into the other half of the pitch. Their light grey-training kits seemed somewhat dull to Zachary.
As they took the field in perfect formation, a slow, steady booing filled the air. The Rosenborg home fans were already giving the Viking team hell even before the match started. Although the stadium was only a quarter full, the cheers of the fans were deafening.
"All players stop the warm-up exercises and head to the dressing room..." The assistant coach, Bjørn Peters, yelled as he moved around the half of the pitch occupied by the Rosenborg team.
"Zach! Zach!"
As Zachary jogged towards the dressing room, he heard someone calling out his name from one of the emptier stands. He looked up only to find Kristin, Mr. Stein, and another old gentleman sitting just beside the stadium tunnel entrance.
"We are rooting for you," Kristin yelled when he cast his sight towards the trio.
"Thank you." Zachary mouthed the words. He waved to his acquaintances before moving on towards the dressing room.
"You know Kristin Stein?" A voice sounded from behind him once he stepped into the tunnel.
Zachary turned around and noticed that the substitute goalkeeper had arrived behind him at some point. He was Grant Anderson, a tall Caucasian with blue eyes and a chiseled jaw. The combination of his blonde hair, tied into a ponytail, and booming voice made him seem intimidating.
"Yes," Zachary replied. "But just casually," he emphasized.
Grant observed him with narrowed, rigid, and cold eyes before saying: "I hope what you say is true. Otherwise. Hmmm." He harrumphed before continuing to the dressing room.
"Is old Grant giving you a hard time?" Ole Selnæs inquired. He'd come up to him right after the goalkeeper left.
"Nope. He was just saying hi," Zachary replied honestly. He had not taken Grant's words seriously. Thoughts about the match were what occupied his mind at that moment. He wouldn't bother about the ravings of a teenager before his first game.
"That's great." Ole patted the back of his shoulder. "Keep your head in the game. I'm sure the coach will give you an opportunity today." He gave Zachary a thumbs up before continuing to the dressing room.
Zachary found the dressing room in a state of chaos. Hoots, hollers, and laughter sounded back and forth through the air, ricocheting off the lockers like metal bullets. Most of the players were slowly putting on their white t-shirts and black shots. That was the official home jersey of team Rosenborg.
"Zach," Mushaga, the only other black fellow in the room, called out to him after seeing Zachary standing by the entrance. He was the player with an afro haircut. The coach had named him as one of the forwards for the game.
"Your jersey is there," he said, pointing to one of the hooks beside a locker. He seemed like a friendly person to Zachary.
"Thank you," Zachary said before picking up the jersey. Since Zachary was not yet officially on the team, he received a numberless jersey for that match.
Coach Johansen and his assistant soon came in. The room fell into silence. The Rosenborg under-19s, dressed in their full jerseys, turned their focus on to the coach.
"We'll play the 4:5:1 formation…" He started explaining the tactics right away while inscribing the squad on the whiteboard fixed to the wall.

In a few minutes, the coach expounded on the formation and tactics for the first half. The team would play with four defenders, five midfielders, and a single forward. Coach Johansen intended to shut down every passing opportunity of the opposition. Thus, the players would attack and defend together like a pack of wolves.
Zachary was left on the bench together with Grant, Emil, and Jonas. The other three players seemed unhappy about it. However, Zachary was different. It was his first game with the club. He wasn't expecting to be in the starting line-up for the game in the first place.
With his mind at ease, Zachary left the dressing room and headed to the technical area to watch the start of the game. He had to analyze every moment of play to search for opportunities he could exploit when he joined the game as a substitute.
The two teams didn't keep the fans waiting for long.
At exactly 3:45 PM of that Tuesday, two armies of eleven walked onto the green to pitch war in the way of civilized societies.

Jiang Chen "My spiritual sense was broken when it contacted Attribute seed it was backlash."
Mo Qingcheng "Spiritual sense got shattered." she was surprised by it too.
Jiang Chen "I guess I can't probe it using this method."
Jiang Chen rested for a while and his spiritual sense was back in track.
Jiang Chen "I will try to use my other attribute energy."
One by one Jiang Chen sent each of his attribute energy to the pitch black dragon but all of them vanished just like that each time giving a backlash.
Mo Qingcheng "Is it darkness attribute?" It is the only attribute known that can devour other attributes and energy .
Jiang Chen "It can't be. I even hold light attribute .Light Attribute is bane for darkness attribute. Even light attribute energy couldn't do a thing to it."

Jiang Chen "Darkness attribute is rare but not heaven shaking or else my parents would not have needed to send me to exile."
Mo Qingcheng "But it does devour other attributes right."
Jiang Chen "True it does devour other attributes ,I don't think it is exactly devouring its more like it no longer exist in the cycle ,devouring an attack increases the strength of devour." 
Mo Qingcheng "It just erases from existence even your space and time attributes. How sick is that?"
Jiang Chen "True. Even my powerful attributes are unable to enter it what would happen to others."
Jiang Chen "Then I should try it outside first."
Jiang Chen "Wife take that sword and use your pure fire attribute to attack me."
Mo Qingcheng "Pure fire .Don't do that. Pure fire energy is very dangerous it can even kill a Martial Soldier."

When Jiang Chen coated his sword with his unknown attribute energy the sword turned pitch black but even worst part was his attribute energy is half empty now.
Jiang Chen "Wife I am ready. Use your fire attribute and throw the sword."
Mo Qingcheng followed the lead and threw her sword filled with all her fire attribute energy at once.
Jiang Chen according to practice parried it to the side using the sword. There was a huge blasting sound and the sword shattered on spot and was reduced to dust.
Both Jiang Chen and Mo Qingcheng were shocked the sword in Jiang Chen's hand was still intact and there was some smoke layer being absorbed by the sword.
Mo Qingcheng "What grade was the sword in your hand?"
Jiang Chen "I used only its low level human ranged power."
Mo Qingcheng "The sword I used now was at least a mortal ranked one." This was weapon of one of her pursuers.
Jiang Chen "True and it just crumbles like pile of ash."
Mo Qingcheng "Totally sick. Jiang Chen don't use that again."
Jiang Chen "No I won't it will grab too much attention." the radiance shown was too terrifying.
Mo Qingcheng "All the essence of sword was just gone like that."

Mo Qingcheng "Jiang Chen what are you planning to do."
Just as Mo Qingcheng spoke Jiang Chen moved his sword in particular way it created a pie shaped arc in air it was completely pitch black in color. But it faded sooner.
Jiang Chen "I need to perfect it."
Mo Qingcheng "What are you planning to do?"
Jiang Chen "Two things a perfect defensive move and perfect offensive move."
Mo Qingcheng "It would be too overpowering your unknown attribute is not just heaven shaking its heaven destroying type."
Jiang Chen "Yes but there is a flaw it won't stay for long outside it fades away." 
Mo Qingcheng "How is it fading so quickly?"
Jiang Chen "It should not have happened that way."
Mo Qingcheng "May be it is its only weakness."
Jiang Chen "May be. But I don't think so."
Jiang Chen felt like something is pulling him upside and all the unknown attribute energy in his body dispersed .
Mo Qingcheng "What happened?"
Jiang Chen "It emptied out. I guess I will know more about it when second floor of palace opens."

As Jiang Chen was trying the best way to formulate a plan to use his unknown attribute energy there was faint ripple in the second floor of his Natal Palace and the pitch black smog gathered around a Pitch black egg and slowly entered the egg. There was no change in it there was not a micro movement from the egg coming. It was Jiang Chen's 84000 strands of unknown attributes energy and it didn't even create a ripple from egg when there was huge mess up in the heavenly energy in second floor.
There were two more eggs beside the pitch black egg each certain distance from it with that one in center.

Some of the local lads had also joined by then. One of them picked up the wickets. Suraj only showed a bit surprise. There was a single row of trees some ten yards behind the batsman's wickets, stamps were planted behind them. Now the pitch was perpendicular to the previous.

"Yes", Avinash laughed.

"Where is six?", the old question.

"There", Avinash signaled the previous coconut tree twins, his face a bit crooked.

Suraj went to the end of the tree-row, which ended two yards behind the new wickets, and again, as before, observed the tree-twins. He went on looking at them. Four minutes. Or more. He came back and took stance.

Some blocks. Then came a ball, short-pitched, no-ish. It should have gone way behind his back. Suraj turned and hit the ball, his firm belief was the ball crossed the tree-row, went through air, and fell on the gap, again. He was as sure as God. Probably there was no difference between the two identities.

Several balls went that way, punctuated by some leaving and blocking.

"Where is he hitting?" asked Avinash, the most curious, amazed by his batting.

They stood with a questioning face.

"They are going for six." Suraj was never this much calm.

Avinash sent Dipak to stand at the junction, where the tree-row ended, so that he can watch both sides and signal if it was a six or not. Dipak, a perfect face, perfect spectacles, perfect body-proportions, perfect shirt, perfect pants and shoes albeit small in stature, stood there.

Yes! They were going for six. Frequent hits, and frequent signals on the part of Dipak like an umpire, raising his two hands.

I am dividing the work into sections for fun-reading. The sections are really not necessary. The story is supposed to be continuous in character.

I briskly said goodbye to Chris (my cousin) and went back in a rage. I forcefully pushed open the doors and stormed into the room. Everyone turned around to look at me. As I sat at home I contemplated my future. I went to sit at the piano and started to sing Molly Malone. It was the first song my parents had taught me. I was young back then but I still don't understand why as soon as I started to sing they fell into a deep sleep and never woke up; almost as if I sent them into a coma. Even now, they haven't awoken. I wonder what I did to them.

A fantastical singer named Anastasia found out that her colleagues had been editing her songs. She didn’t understand why they would do such a thing, so she abruptly quit her entire career. Later she met a man named Adam who promises he can protect her and help with her uncontrollable powers. At first she was confused but apparently she was a class ‘A’ demon and she can use her voice as a deadly weapon...

More than one year passed. Goro's life was repetitive but fulfilling in the meantime.

Itachi became even more famous than before. One of his teammates died during a mission and he finally awakened his sharingan. 

Sasuke became three years old and to Goro's dismay, the cute Sasuke was already disappearing. Now Sasuke would always complain to their mother when Goro tried to pinch his cheeks. Mikoto scolded Goro very much and he endured while feeling that youngest kids really were loved more by their parents.

Fugaku's personality changed a little as he smiled more often now in front of his family. He was really impressed with Goro's talent and once a week personally gave him pointers on Uchiha taijutsu and shurikenjutsu.

Goro continued his routine daily. In the morning, he would train the taijutsu katas in the training grounds while his gravity seal activated. In the afternoon he would spend happy times with his family and write his novels sometimes. In the evening he broke and repaired his body multiple times by doing heavy body training under insane gravity.

His diligent routine resulted in rapid progress and Goro could proudly say that he became much stronger now. 

Currently he was getting ready inside his room as he was finaly going to start attending ninja academy from today. He became eight years old but his body was very tall for his age and all the baby fat was gone thanks to his insane amount of body training. He stood 145 cm tall and had long pitch black hair which extended till his lower waist. He had fair skin and deep pitch black eyes. His sword like eyebrows made him look very handsome and irresistible for even teenager girls now.

His room was a simple one as it only contained one small wooden bed , one desk, one wardrobe and one long mirror. He was wearing black t shirt and dark blue anbu pants and standing before his Mirror. He also wore a short dark blue jacket containing Uchiha crest on it's back. Goro nodded and smiled as he was very thankful to God for giving him such handsome looks. He did not plan to become a womanizer but being handsome and that were two different things after all.

" System show my current status. " Goro said inwardly as he wanted to take a look at his progress. He had made checking his status every morning his habit now.

Goro was greatly satisfied with his current status. His chara reserves had reached Top jonin level more than one month ago already and his strength also caught up after few days. He had encountered a bottleneck which Goro thinks must be due to his body age restriction. After all his current vessel ( body ) is too small and nowhere near its limit yet. So Goro was not much concerned about this. 

He was very happy when he found out that he had five perfect chakra affinities. Fire , Earth and Lightning were his natural affinities. Goro thought that it must be God's gift that the three basic element affinities are perfect class. It means that he will need the least amount of effort to perfect shape and nature transformation for them. The Yanng affinity came from his perk rapid regeneration and the Yin affinity came from the sharingan. 

Goro had published two books under the pen name Batman now and they were really popular as expected. One Piece and Fairy Tail caused storms as soon as they were released in the market. He had recieved another 10 million advance when he submitted the manuscripts of Fairy Tail six months ago. Makato was generous enough to open an account in Konoha bank for Goro and there must be much money deposited inside it now as the books were sold like crazy.. Goro did not even check that amount till now but he planned to do so soon. He wanted to purchase Perfect Chakra control and Chakra Beast Perk from system shop. 

Perfect chakra control will help him reduce the chakra consumption of his jutsu to the limit and will help him easily grasp medical ninjutsu techniques and many other things. 

Chakra beast perk was the one which he wanted the most right now. It's because he will chakra amount equal to 1 tails immediately after integrating it. He naturally wanted these two perks because they will provide him too much benifit. Goro imagined creating hundreds of shadow clones and practicing multiple techniques simultaneously
while he would only focus on training his body in the meantime. 

Goro was now ready to leave but he first wanted to check the progress of his current jutsu arsenal. He has not purchased any item from system after shadow clone jutsu more than one year ago. He had no choice to save money as the two perks which he wanted were too expensive.

Goro was allowed by Fugaku to enter the first section of library where he found too many D to B rank jutsu and chose the useful ones from them. Now he wanted to learn chakra shape and nature manipulation using his shadow clones properly. He had already decided to master rasengan now as it can be called pinnacle of chakra shape transformation. After mastering it Goro will think about nature transformation..
