What is the Trial of the Blue Crown Cavern? It was something simple, survive in the allotted time or kill every enemy they send out at you.

After the announcement of the Overseer, we were made to follow deeper into the cavern where there were ninety doors. After two years in this place, there were now only ninety people.

There used to be seven hundred fifty of us, but little by little, those who showed no advancement got 'escorted' out of the cavern. The ones who will manage to take this trial are those who showed promising talents.

= "Enter the appropriate number of your number." = The Overseer who was standing in front of the group said aloud. In the ninety doors, there were huge numbers written on it.

The numbers were painted red and were hard to miss. I went to my door and said to Viryon who was nearby, = "Goodluck, Vir." = I was the one who made that nickname. 

= "You too, Xir.." = He entered his door, and only I was the one left behind in that roo. 

= "069, is there a problem?" = the Overseer asked me. I secretly turned to him before answering, = "There is none." =

= "069 is a good crop indeed, for him to reach Silver-grade Rank-3 within two years is good, for him to keep up with 073 (Viryon) he s quite good. If we can get 069, 073, and 089 (Van) to team up and have someone support them then that would be quite a great team. Alas, for that to actually happen they have to survive this first." = The Overseer was speaking to himself and from his tone, it seems like he is expecting a lot of blood to be spilled in this trial.

Inside the 069 passage, it was well lit and the rocks surrounding me were quite spacious. It provided enough room for me to move. I brought out my Medallion (A kind of wand that can be worn in the neck and can be used without being held. It is an expensive artifact given to me after they learned of my genius meaning my Nine Mage Channels. I have to hold my crutches so I need a medium like this.) and began my preparation on my entry of the room.

= "Oh Wind Mana heed my call of help, may you lessen my weight and increase my speed, [Feather Weight]." = 

A simple Tier-1 (Silver Grade) spell to lighten my body and make it easier to move. 

= "Great Mother Earth assist your child and give me your protection, [Earthen Embrace]. Raging Flames I ask of you to scorch the world that wishes to harm me, [Flame Robe]. Forgiving Waters give me vitality to vanquish my enemies, [Water Line]." =

Two protective barriers both a Tier-1 Spell and a support spell to increase my vitality and stamina which is one of my weaknesses it was also a Tier-1 spell. I have no completed my preparation and began heading deeper into the room.

Mages have weak defense compared to Martials. They are weak so heading into any uncharted place, a barrier must be erected. Safety is the first that must come to mind even if one is an Attack Mage.

Although most Mages prefer to erect barriers and protective spells in battles to conserve as much mana as possible, Xir was different because his mana reserves were deep.

= "Is your preparation completed?" = (Lethias), she had been appearing and disappearing whenever she pleases so much so that I got used to her coming out and abruptly saying something without any warning.

= "I have, and this place is really creeping me out." = I have a bad feeling about this. Although this place was brightly lit, everything else seemed to deem that I can't make a proper distinction as to what is going to come out.

= "Great Wind my friends, run free and scour the lands and become my eyes, [Wind Detection]." = I cast another tier-1 spell to see if any other being is inside this place with me.

A gust of wind came out my body and head deep into the passage, = "There you are." = At the end of the passage, I sensed something resting at its very depths.

Xiron was informed of this and he nodded his head.

= "Information?" = Lethias asked.

= "A quadrupedal monster, its strength is around peak Silver-grade rank-3. What do you think?" =

= "Fight it, this is a good time for you to increase your experience. This is your orders, go and defeat without using any tier-2 spells (gold-rank), Dusk can be taken out but nothing more. But when you feel like you can't beat it, then you can use tier-2 spells." =

Lethias' orders are my mission and my training. For the past two years, thanks to her guidance, my advancements had been fast but I lack any experience that will help me in a fight. She hoped that in this meeting with a monster, it will become a precious experience.

 I agreed to her orders and head deeper into the passage. After reaching the passage, there was a wide space where an Armored Black Panther was resting. At my appearance, the Armored Black Panther growled at me.

I turned to Lethias, = "Can I really kill this? This Panther is three meters large!." =

= "That's on you, kill or be killed, I can't help you on this one."

A distance from the Tie clan, there is a massive 3 story building, that building itself takes up a couple kilometers in space, and resides on a few hundred kilometers of land..

This is the residence of the Ye family, well to be more specific, the residence of one of the Ye family's branches, they still go by the surname Ye though.

 On the third floor, in a pretty spacious room, laying on a massive red bed covered in fancy silk, lays a fatty.

This fatty was ravenously devouring a bunch of roasted meat, albeit with a depressed look on his face, he just lost 6 gold coins recently. He couldn't help but snivel a little at the thought of his 6 gold coins, he would never admit that his appetite is what made him lose his money, even though he just bought a snack.

A quite expensive snack.

The fatty would roll back and forth on his bed every now and then, as he took a bite of the roasted meat, then he would drink some wine, and spill a little.

There were stains all over the bed…

In this spacious room there was a huge wooden door with engravings of dragons and phoenixes, a sudden knocking came from this door.

Frowning the fatty rolled off his bed and opened the door, after opening the door, the fatty was greeted by a servant in plain gray robes.

"What do you want?" asked the fatty with an irritated look appearing on his face.

Looking at the fatty and smiling, the servant chuckled a little as he looked closely at the fatty.

"I heard you lost 6 gold coins.."

"Shut up and leave if that's all you have to say!"

As soon as the servant mentioned the loss of 6 gold coins the fatty was angered and was about to close the door on the servant, before the door could slam in the servants face the servant spoke up.

"Young master Yan, that Ren boy, do you know who his guardian is?"

Hearing this question Yan opened the door the rest of the way as he straightened his silk clothes, "No I do not, who is his guardian? Why does it concern me?"

Looking at Yan the servant shook his head, "You just got here, you mustn't know this, even those who don't live here know this"

Taking a bite out of a piece of roasted meat, Yan squints his already squinted eyes, and stares even more at the servant, "Who is his guardian?"

Letting out a chuckle the servant shakes his head again as he lets out a sigh, "Young master, his guardian, is THAT d*mn old woman, you shouldn't offend her, she's an old monster, a she-devil. Try not to be enemies with Ren"

Hearing the words "old monster, and she-devil" Yan's flesh trembled, "Is she that terrifying? Do you know her name? What does she look like?"

Giving Yan a smirk, as his eyes glistened a little, "Young master Yan, she's been around for so long, only she would know her actual name. What does she look like? Well, she looks like a maid, the only maid that is left to take care of Ren"

After the servant spoke, a silence invaded the room, it was so silent you could hear a pin drop, Yan looked at the servant with a little sweat dripping down his face, as he had a bad feeling, "You never mentioned why she is so terrifying"

Turning away as the servant smirked at Yan, he chuckled, "She has surpassed the heaven stage long ago, she's in a stage that we have no records of, in all of the Aszroth continent, she is possibly, no, she IS the strongest person"

As the servant's back vanished into the shadows of the hall, he spoke in a fading voice, "She isn't someone you want to offend, unless you want to get the whole kingdom after her, even then, only after at least 90% of the kingdoms forces are wiped out, only THEN would she even be slightly injured"

After the servant finished speaking, Yan dropped the piece of roasted meat as his flesh trembled, he reached behind him to feel all the cold sweat that formed on his back.

'Only after 90% of the kingdom's forces are destroyed, only then she will be slightly injured, that powerful? It's only 6 gold coins..'

The servant said this for Yan's own good, as he is a young master, the servant had to stop him from doing something foolish.

But, why is the heaven stage so terrifying?

In the heaven stage there are no tiers or levels, there are only:

Beginner, intermediate, advanced, and expert.

In this stage, your lifespan is increased by at least 3000 years, if you use special treasures or have a good constitution, the increase can be greater. 

A beginner heaven stage expert can fight for five hours at max power until qi runs out. Without qi a heaven stage expert has a physical body of the last tier of the xian stage.

A heaven stage expert can erase mountains and flip seas, quite literally, as long as they have the appropriate techniques.

Beyond that, there are no records, it's considered uncharted territory, but someone at that stage should've moved to the world of the gods, that power is too strong for this world…

A xian stage practitioner (right before heaven stage) only has a 100 year increase in lifespan, unless using treasures, etc..

At this stage and up, physical strength is measured in points, 1 point of strength is 2 times stronger than a level 9 rebirth expert.

The first tier of the xian stage grants an increase of 1 point in strength.

After dropping his roasted meat, Yan slowly walked back into his room while muttering in a panicked voice.

"It's only 6 gold coins.."

"It's only 6 gold coins.."

"It's only 6 gold coins.."


The fatty, Yan, after entering the room, is determined to befriend Ren at any costs.

There will be a lot of violence in later chapters, also this novel is intended to be a power trip, also fast paced, but there will still be a story to enjoy, so don't run away until you read it, okay?

United Nations, Fortress Singapore, Command Bridge

Captain Blake stood before the armored viewports of the bridge, staring out at the city frowning. He turned and looked at the tactical plot table which had the map of their current ongoing conflict being displayed.

Several red icons were blinking currently, which indicated areas that his troops were engaged with the Imperials. The entire UN ground forces had only a single Marine Divison, including all the artillery and support staff, plus another Divison of Self Defense Force trained only in fixed defenses.

For the strength of the Air Force, there were 110 biplanes, the F/A - 1 Cobra, which meant ten squadrons, and a third of the fighters still undergoing upgrades to the Super Cobra model. They had double the numbers of the multi role flying boats, the FB - 1 Mariners, from the original four to eight units now.

As for their helo units, they now had twenty of those beasts, all stationed at the reserve Battalions' holding area on standby to rapidly deploy the Marines to any hot spot. The highly anticipated cargo planes were still in the trial phase and not in mass production line yet. Several problems had come up over the trials, such as overheating of the engines and heavy vibrations of the airframe.

The Navy was in a worse position. Manpower was primarily assigned to the Marines first, then the Air Force. The Navy got the remaining dregs and it showed as their presence was weaker compared to the rest. 

Due to lack of manpower, Commander Ford has asked for permission to hire civilian contractors to offset the lack of manpower which also helped to provide jobs to the population. But it was just a temporary stopgap measure for the Navy. 

With spring here and the seas once again calm enough, the goblin pirates and raiders will be out in full force. This was the time the Navy was greatly needed to provide a safe zone as the trading season kicks in and they have to protect the Isles merchant ships coming to conduct trade with the UN to provide the Blake the much needed gold and silver for all the projects and government policies.

And because of the lack of manpower for the Navy, they got blindsided by the Imperials in the inland sea. Their only floating service tender in the Source Sea came under attack was almost captured if not for the timely arrival of the fighter squadrons from Orwell's Point.

Thankfully, the Imperial Fleet got beaten back and they retreated off, while PT Boats tow the fixed tender to safety. It also had gained the Navy some good will between the naval and civilian crew who bravely defended the service tender.

This incident had forced Commander Ford to reassign his already small fleet to the Source Sea. Meaning he had to transfer a few of his PT boats and transfer them overland to Orwell's Point and deploy them in the Source Sea, to provide some naval support.

The Navy's sole seaplane tender was already in a bad shape and it now serves as a floating seaplane base based off the Goblin Sea for the Navy's entire two squadrons of Sea Cobras that had yet to receive any upgrades to the 'Super' model.

Shall he ask the Isles for support to hold off the Goblin pirates? Wondered Blake as he tapped his fingers on the side of the plot table. He cast his eyes back to the thick blue dotted lines that depicted the Northern Front.

So far the Marines were holding firm, but the sheer number of Imperials kept slipping through the 285 km long Front. One Divison of Marines, over twelve thousand men of seven Battalions with their backs to the Uncharted Forest was covering the 285 km long defensive line with another two Battalions in reserve were just overstretching the troops.

Nova Command, lead by Colonel Frank had given a plan, that ignored any leakers. The Marines will hit any massed concentrated Imperial troops while letting small numbers to leak past the Front and into the Uncharted Forest.

Blake had given his approval for the plan, which he knew that any small unit of Imperial troops unluckily enough to wander into the Uncharted Forest was very certain to eat up in the cooking pots of some of the monsters that came out of hibernation. 

Even the Marines' own supply lines were run by armored gun trucks or done by air. They were all too well versed with the horrors of the Uncharted Forest. As for any Imperials that managed to survive and come within a distance of any settlements or city, the SDF will take care of them. If they were unable too, they have the options of either an airstrike, artillery strike or even the Marine reserve force.

And thinking of the SDF, Blake's expression turned sour. There were too many disciplinary actions among the SDF. Most of the personnel in the Self Defense Force were remnants of the old City Watch, ex Imperial soldiers, mercenaries, cutthroats, thieves and even adventurers. Oh, there might be a few righteous youngsters wanting to protect their homes, but most of the scum were in the SDF.

With barely a season to train the SDF, and no time to even filter anyone, the SDF had too many issues once they were deployed. There were some good seeds in the SDF but they were overshadowed by the bad. 

Blake frowned as he pondered very hard at the thought of assigning hardcore officers to ensure strict discipline among the ranks of the SDF, kinda like Judge Dredd or Commissar of old. Hell, the rules of wartime allow officers to execute anyone for cowardly conduct, which barely anyone in the UNMMC does. But if he wants to do this hard line tact, he needs to use non SDF officers, incorruptible to really ensure discipline.

He sighed as he recalled the amount of corruption, abuse of authority, insubordination and many other disciplinary problems that popped up not even two months after the SDF was founded. The worse been the selling of weapons and desertion.

He really needed to deal with the SDF now before the problems take root and affect the SDF for the future. Blake rubbed his face as he wondered who to get to be the bad guy of the UN, "Fuck... Intel has already been doing some shady stuff, I might as well let them be the bad guys..."

The Imperial City of Silverton, City Citadel, Great Hall

Emperor Varacen frowned as he glanced at the map filled with colorful flags and wooden tokens. "Why has the First, and Second Army retreated so far back?"

"My Emperor," A general with his head uncovered by armor stood forward and bowed. "Both Armies have encountered the enemies demonic weapons that fell like rain, killing many of our soldiers. It was till they retreated back to till this far, did the rain of demonic spells ceased."

Varacen's frown deepened, "And yet there is no sight of the enemy?"

"Yes and no, my Emperor," The staff general replied and pointed to the map. "Here, here and here, our soldiers and knights had encountered the enemy. And here, the Grand Fleet too has encountered the enemy."

"And the results? Why are our troops still not advancing forward?" Varacen asked.

"Ahem, unfortunately," The staff general rubbed the sweat beading on his forehead and said bravely. "Our forces were repelled by the enemy's demonic spells and weapons."

"But we found a flaw in the enemy's defenses!" The staff general quickly added before his Emperor could speak. "We found that the enemy was unable to spot small units of our men slipping pass their defenses!"

"Any large force that was gathered," The staff general quickly explained as he saw the raised questioning eyebrow of his Emperor. "was hit by a large number of demonic spells."

"But we found that if we split our forces into small groups of roughly a hundred, they can slip past the notice of the enemy!" The staff general said. "The commanders have already sent word that they are splitting their troops into small units and try to sneak past the defenses and after gathering together, will send a signal to the frontline soldiers and they will make a pincer attack at the enemy."

The Emperor nodded in understanding before he gave out a peat of laughter, "Good, good! At least you all are using your brains! If not, you won't need any brains at all!"

The staff officers all looked at each other and broke out in uneasy laughter with the Emperor's attempt at a joke. Just at this moment, a young noble in ornate armor spoke out, "My Emperor, so far we witnessed the rebel's use of their demon weapons mostly targeted our soldiers on the ground."

"I suggest we make use of our dragons and fly our soldiers across," The young noble said. "This way, we can avoid much of the demonic spells."

Emperor Varacen paused in his laughter as he considered the suggestion given. "Hmm.. yes, that does make some sense! What do all of you think?"

The rest of the staff officers looked at each other again before nodded and agreeing. Emperor Varacen nodded and said. "Good, you, whatever your name is, I shall grant command of all the Dragon Corps and the Third Army! I want you to move the Third across and within the walls of Orwell's Point by the end of the month!"

"Your Emperor, this lowly one is named, Alberto, Alberto Rothschild! You command and I obey!"

United Nations, Far Harbour, Naval HQ, Chief of Naval Ops office

Commander Ford had a deep crease on his forehead as he had been frowning a lot these past few weeks. Reports after reports of operations readiness were piled on his desk, most of them with problems like not enough crew to full man the ships or this and that ship had sprung a leak or an engine failure.

He doubled checked the calculated cost of transporting four PT boats from Far Harbour all the way to Orwell's Point and sighed deeply, as the numbers looked to be cutting into his already very limited budget.

His Goblin Sea Fleet now had only five PT boats in operation with another two down for an overhaul of their engines. The two supposedly ready gunboat corvettes were three weeks late for their sea trials and commissioning.

The UNS Floatin' Wreck, was literally a wreck now, due to its structural beam was not even rated for the use of modern engines and worse, 3" guns! The sail boat converted gunboat could no longer withstand any more stresses to its beam and will literally shake itself apart if the ship ever engages in combat again.

As for the seaplane tender, UNS Matador which the hulls were sold by the bloody Islanders were already old and rotten. It too no longer rated capable to handle the high seas and has to retire as a floating base for the Navy's seaplanes. 

Now without the UNS Floatin' Wreck and the transfer of four PT boats, the Goblin Sea Fleet doesn't even have a proper surface ship. It only has five PT boats that couldn't even hit the high seas, only enabling them to operate near the coastline and only supported by two squadrons of old model Cobras to cover a coastline so vast, Ford didn't even want to think about it.

Ford leaned back on his chair and puff out a deep breath. "Without the two corvettes... how the fuck am I going to protect the coast?"

"Fuck it!" Ford stood up and left his office. He nodded to the naval sentries as he walked towards the shipyards where the two corvettes were sitting uselessly on the dry docks. He found the Chief Shipwright arguing with a crowd of goblins at the ramp of one of the corvettes.

"Get back to work you green scums!" The Chief Shipwright yelled. "You do as I say!"

"Toopid Chief!" The goblins yelled back. 

"We want pay increase! Or we go strike!"

The crew of the Training Ship UNS Singapore escaped from an alien fleet, finds themselves stranded on an unknown planet and has to survive against deadly monsters and magical creatures.

"Hmph! Why didn't you tell me that you were about to attempt it?! I could have given you some pointers!" Dream complained, her face all tensed up like a miffed bunny. 

"If I did, would you let me attempt the breakthrough in peace?"

"Crossing the first barrier of mortality is a significant thing! Any slight mishap and your cultivation could be crippled! Of course, I would have given you some space!"

"Yeah, right..." Akumu rolled his eyes. After knowing Dream for twenty years, the man was well-aware of how worrisome she could become when it came to her allies. If Akumu had told her that he was attempting to form his Spectre Soul, Dream would unquestionably put down everything in her life just to act as his protector. Not to mention, Dream would deploy her own spiritual abilities to boost Akumu's power, significantly increasing the chances for success. She would even spend millions of gold just to build a cultivation chamber for Akumu. And that wasn't mere speculation. Dream had actually done all of that for a bosom childhood friend of hers, who had attempted to form her Spectre Soul. 

However, Akumu didn't want that. He wanted to rely on his own power to stand next to the greatest genius of all time and the only way to do that was to tackle cultivation problems himself.

Still, there was a need to appease the angry Dream. Therefore, Akumu threw out an empty promise: "Next time, I'll take that into consideration. If I have any other cultivation problems, I'll be sure to run to you."

"Mnnn! Now that's more I like it! Congrats on crossing the first barrier of mortality! Now your lifespan has doubled to two-hundred!" Dream chuckled.

"Hearing that from you… I don't know how to feel about that..." Akumu frowned. Dream had just broken into Rank 80, passing the second barrier of mortality and quadrupled her lifespan in the process. Should all things go well, Dream could comfortably live until she was four-hundred-years-old. 

"Speaking of which, you haven't told me… What is your fifth spiritual ability?" Since Akumu hadn't discussed his cultivation matters with Dream, the thirty-two-year-old had little idea of the man's power.

"Hehe, I'm naturally saving the best for last..." Akumu's face turned queer as he heard Dream's question. He raised his index finger, congregating a large amount of darkness elements into that single point. Then, the man turned to the exit and hollered: "Kuro, come in!"

The wolf yelped in protest, still fearing that Dream might do something to it. However, it couldn't disobey its owner's command. Whimpering as it limped in, the wolf desperately tried not to look at Dream while it cowered behind Akumu's body. At this scene, the black-haired man didn't know if he should laugh or cry: "What the hell did you do to Kuro when I'm not around?"

Dream just whistled and gazed at the ceiling: "Nothing!"

"..." Akumu was highly sceptical of the woman's claim but sought no further elaboration. He slowly moved his fingers from the air and gently poked his favoured pet. Almost instantly, Kuro's fur stood erect, as if it had been electrocuted with the world's highest voltage. Dark mist emerged from Akumu's pores and coagulated inside of the Spirit Beast's body. If one were able to peek into the wolf's body, they would see an ominous obsidian core, filled with a dense amount of foreign mana, slowly taking shape.

Dream watched in earnest as the scene continued to unfold. Kuro was currently a Tier 3 Spirit Beast, equal in power to a Rank 20 Spirit Core cultivator. However, as Akumu's Rank 40 mana continued to pour into the wolf, Dream sensed that Kuro's cultivation was rapidly increasing. Darkness elements continued to escape from Akumu's arms, slowly empowering the already vicious wolf. And finally, after a full minute, Kuro's entire body erupted with a shockwave. 

"AWWWOOOOOOO!!!" Kuro happily howled. Constant darkness particles flowed out from its fur, turning the chambers black in the process. The inner power of the beast almost doubled, and its overall presence had become more and more domineering. It was no longer a Tier 3 Spirit Beast, but a bona fide Tier 4 monster. 

"Akumu, you..." Dream's bright white eyes quickly glazed over. She was taken aback by Akumu's new spiritual ability, there was no question about that. However, what truly stunned her was…

"You actually succeeded?!"

"Yes, yes, I did." The bearded man smiled. "You may have given up on the practicality of the Eternal Plan, but I sure haven't!" 

The Eternal Plan. After Dream first introduced the concept of Heaven's Gate to Akumu, the duo embarked on an arduous journey to discover a method to enter the Immortal Realm without passing the Rank 100 threshold. It was a momentous task, one that had stumped even the world's greatest genius. Dream used the Crown of Wisdom to scour the entire planet for clues. She inspected the knowledge of every single expert in the world, be it Spirit Saints or top researchers. Initially, Dream believed that she could use a large amount of Aether Crystals to create the path. However, she quickly realised that it would prove to be an impossible task.

If Dream's calculations were correct, it would take at least a quadrillion peak Aether Crystals to imitate the power of ten Rank 99 Spirit Saints ascending. Not to mention, she had to figure out a method to keep the gate from falling apart. There were just too many variables that one needed to take into account, but there was one crucial detail… 

"My fifth spiritual ability allows me to bestow my power to strengthen others and at the same time, monitor their surroundings. At the moment, I can only infuse my mana into Spirit Beasts that don't refuse my will. However, as I grow more powerful, I'm certain that I can spread my mana amongst human cultivators. When I reach the Spirit Saint realm, I'm confident of sharing my mana with at least ten thousand entities!"

To create Heaven's Gate, Dream needed more… mana. One way of obtaining that mana was to use an astronomical amount of Aether Crystals. However, that was far too impractical. It was hard enough to find just one Aether mine, let alone finding enough mines to get a quadrillion Aether Crystals. Thus, Dream had to obtain mana from another source. Humans.

Alas, that was easier said than done. In this era of peace, there were few powerful cultivators and even fewer Spirit Saints. Dream needed at least a hundred Spirit Saints worth of mana to theoretically open Heaven's Gate for ten seconds, but she was hard-pressed to even find ten Spirit Saints!

Out of ideas, Dream was forced to abandon this line of thinking and instead, spent all of her power investigating other methods to enter the Immortal Realm. However, Akumu never gave up hope. He believed, with a little bit of hard work, he would be able to artificially lift the cultivation levels of many in the world. After all, Akumu's Spirit was vastly different than regular ones. If he'd cultivated the right way, Akumu could empower thousands of talented individuals, helping them break into the coveted Spirit Saint realm.

"Akumu, you're really… Hah…" Dream sighed. Akumu had imagined that Dream would be jumping for joy. He'd also prayed that Dream would give him a hug as well as praise him for his sacrifice. However, none of that came from the ethereal beauty's mouth. Instead, she looked somewhat conflicted and blue. 

"W-What? What's the matter?" 

Dream looked at the bearded man, her eyes glistening in the light. Although Akumu's face was full of hair, in Dream's eyes, Akumu was still the young boy that she'd saved on the streets twenty years back. "You should have learnt a more useful spiritual ability, one that could help you in future… You've wasted your potential just so I could chase a dream that may or may not be attainable..."

"Ah, so that's what it was..." Akumu heaved a sigh of relief. At the very least, Dream wasn't pissed off at him. "Don't worry about me, Dream. I don't really have a particular spiritual ability in mind. Furthermore, this ability isn't inherently bad. I can help empower Kuro so that he could become a guard for me in the future. Also..."

Akumu leaned in and flashed an impish smile. "You know how special my Spirit is… This ability is unquestionably the best one for me."

"Yeah… You're right..." Dream wasn't all that convinced, but she still silenced herself. "Fine… Truth to be told, I do have some insights on the Eternal Plan. I just hadn't expected that you'll make this sort of sacrifice..."

"Really? What insights did you make?" Akumu's heart was turning. Dream's 'insights' would almost always lead to breakthroughs. The Eternal Plan had morphed into a joint target for Dream and Akumu. If there were a significant breakthrough, Akumu would be more than delighted. 

"That is… No, nevermind. I don't think that my insights are ready to be crystallised yet." Dream hesitated to tell Akumu the full extent of her knowledge. To her, theories weren't worth jack-shit. Only when the theoretical could be proven by the practical, would her information be worth. 

"However, I believe that we should act on our first assumption of Heaven's Gate. Ah, I have an idea!" Having a eureka moment, Dream's head flashed brightly. "Akumu, you said that your spiritual ability works best against Spirit Beasts right?"

"... For the moment, yes." 

"If that's the case, why don't you head to the Uncharted Wilderness and gain more Spirit Beast subordinates?" Dream suggested with a brilliant smile. "In the end, the human population is far inferior to that of Spirit Beasts. Particularly those long-living ones that could match our continent's best Spirit Saints! If you can get them under your control, we'll have one more source of mana!"

"T-That… could work?" The bearded man was intrigued by the premise. 

"Hehe, divide and conquer! Divide and conquer! You strengthen the Spirit Beasts, while I empower humanity! A win-win for both of us!"

Akumu had managed to inject his mana into Kuro for several reasons, the main one being that the wolf was a Spirit Beast of inferior intelligence. If Akumu wanted to strengthen humans, he had to at the very least wait till he was a Rank 70 Spirit Emperor. Dream, on the other hand, had a significant influence on human civilisation. At Dream's order, millions would move to move mountains for her. It would be child's play for her to strengthen the overall cultivation levels of the three superpowers. 

Akumu's deployment to the Uncharted Wilderness truly was the best of both worlds. He could hastily increase his cultivation by leaps and bounds, all while taming the mysterious area. At the same time, Dream would gain a new source of mana for her Eternal Plan. There was one issue though…

'I can't bear to leave Dream...' Akumu frowned. Deep down, he understood that his affection for the beauty had transcended normal love. He wanted to be with Dream at every juncture, even if it meant sacrificing his soul to the devil. However, Akumu's feelings aren't reciprocated. Dream showed no intention of jumping into any romantic relationships throughout her thirty-odd years of existence. Otherwise, how would history's greatest genius and one of the most gorgeous people in the world, be unwed at her age?

'No, I swore that I would help her open Heaven's Gate! I can't let my own personal desire compromise Dream's goal!'

"I understand. I'll leave first thing in the morning."

"Woah, there! You don't have to be in such a rush!" The ethereal beauty jumped. She had just suggested that deployment in the passing. If they really needed someone in the Uncharted Wilderness, it would require months, if not years of planning. "How about this? I'll ask the council to open an outpost a few kilometres away from the Uncharted Wilderness? That way, you can continue your experiments, and I can visit you every now and then!"

Akumu grinned. "Yeah, that sounds really good. Let's do it your way..."

If Akumu had been more observant, he would have noticed that there was a strange glint inside Dream's eyes. However, it murkish colour quickly faded into nothingness as she gave the man a firm bear hug.

Over a million years ago, the first human contracted with the first Spirit. Ever since then, Spirit use has become commonplace. Humans used Spirits to carry items and start fires. Nothing unusual has occurred this day. Clear skies and no signs of any impending storms. We haven't quite reached the uncharted areas of the western seas, but we are very close. Once we reach there, then that map maker will start working. 

Update (written in the morning of Day 4):
My head's a bit spinning, but I'll try to write as much as I can before vomiting. Harry just came by to see me, tonight. He was wondering about my thoughts on the trip. He seemed very excited. It seems to me that he really wants to explore these unknown regions. I told him that it was just a job for me, but he already knew that. He brought a large drink. I don't usually get drunk on the job, but outside was very clear. Filled with stars. We both may have drunk a little too much. I woke up in my bed, not remembering anything of last night besides my first sip. Harry must have gone to his own room to sleep it off.

Update 2 (written at Day 4)
I'll write this down very quickly before work. I found Harry and he looked shocked. Harry didn't look like he was having any hangovers from last night. Though, he might just not have drunk as much as me. I guess I should be glad he was responsible enough to moderate himself. He seemed to be the acting captain while I slept off from the drinks. It is approximately noon by the time I'm writing this.

A virtual reality game where you decide everything. your looks, your profession, and how you play as you explore the uncharted lands filled with many dangers and mysteries currently the most popular game.

At first it was just my curiosity, then It caught my interest and without me knowing I'm already in love with the game.

after the release I played for 20 hours everyday for a total of 5 years then suddenly, December 24 2037

"NOTICE* on december 25 2037 at 1 AM server will be permanently shut down"

"NOTICE* 3 hours before shut down"

I was so devastated that I almost went crazy because of the system notice but since I can't do anything anyways I wanted to cherished the remaining hours I have left with the game. 

I visited my land that I developed thanks to a certain exclusive feature of the game. a feature that allows you to create your own land that suits your taste.

mine was like a grand castle at the middle of a haunted forest. having your own land was nice but the main reason developing a land is important is because you can create NPCs as well as release beasts you captured on your land be it tamed or untamed.

I was walking around my castle until I arrived at my throne room then I called all the NPCs I made as in all of them my military officers, guardian knights and even my battle maids.

I bid farewell to my trusted subordinates. I was sad to leave them I wanted to cry.

sniff* sniff*

but I need to look dignified in front my subordinates one last time I can't let my majestic and wicked image be ruined.

I want to make them atleast remember me as an almighty evil empress not that NPCs have any memories but I've been treating them like real people. since the game is very realistic.

also because the way they look seems like their not NPCs at all they can converse with me and follow my instructions but doing 18+ related things is not allowed not like I'm interested anyway.

its been 1 and a half hours and I decided to solo kill the uncharted land online's final boss a boss monster that was rated as "impossible" by 99.9% of players world wide. 

Bellum deus

It was very intimidating I almost give up without even trying but then I realized that this will be my first and last attempt so I attack with my strongest skill.

primordial darkness! devour!

when I activated the skill the earth trembled as darkness engulfed everything insight then dimensional cracks form from the darkness and from those cracks appeared infinite amount of shadows that seemed to devour the boss monster after a few second bellum deus was completely devoured. 

Tch! 

"strongest my ass it didn't even put up a proper fight"

sigh*

and just like that the so called strongest boss died and I  gained a title and it's drops. it gave me the title:

Ancient empress 

As for the drop it gave me bellum deus two handed axe, bellum deus soul, bone fragments and mana orb IX.

more than 2 and a half hours had past there's only 1 minute before the server completely shut down.

I didn't have much friends inside and outside of the game so I spent the last minute with my beloved creations (NPCs).

finaly the time has come I can feel millions of millions of player counting with me as they too shed their tears with me.

Daenerys became a mad queen in 1 episode and Jon had to stab her, what f*cking bullsh*t is that.
Nearly 10 years I dedicated my time and emotion to get an ending like that, please can someone tell me where the writers lives, I promise to only have a peaceful discussion.
Many people watching around the bar cursed and some sighed with relief and pick up their stuff to leave the bar one after another.
Bartender Don Sinbad got up from his seat and started cleaning the bar. 
For the past 9 years, he has been doing the exact thing, he never been able to like and immerse in the storyline of Game of Thrones but he pretty much know the whole story line. As a neutral party, he truthfully say that the series was rushed and betrayed the identity it has buildup with its tragedy and wondering ending. But anyway I don't  think I would be needed here anymore as the owner only hires part timer like me during the time the show airs as it gets busy but with series finish.
After finishing my shift, I drank my complimentary glass of whiskey and start walking to the bus stop.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, they cling to the realm or the gods or love. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is.

"get back here brat!" a booming voice resounded scaring of the birds "Thank you Uncle Joe!" a young boy responded with a turkey leg at hand as he ran through the alleyways.
Eventually the boy managed to loose the man. This young lad was Jack.
The judgement happened during the year 2040 wiping out most of humanity but being humanity they managed to survive by producing floating islands of steel. This islands became the new home of mankind and for a while people thought this would always be the truth but in the year 2100 a brilliant scientist by the name Nick Banner.
Nick by some sort of way managed to prove that not all lands were lost and that there was one more, he claimed it was a land with green stretching for miles, with thousands of trees and so many wildlife like the ones in books. to all of humanity this and was paradise and befitting of this Nick named the land the New Dawn.
Needless to say the discovery drove everyone mad in the pursuit of the New Dawn, it was a new age... the age of Adventurers. Thousands of adventures from all over got on their ships in search of the New Dawn. 
Of course Nick himself set out for the New Dawn as although he knew the land existed he was yet to obtain the exact co-ordinates. After he set of no one had ever heard from him again, time passed and soon The New Dawn faded to nothing more than myth with but a few still believing in its existence.
The era of adventurers on the other hand was still going strong. The world had changed in so many ways but it seemed mankind was still clueless as to how much the earth had changed.
 A new type of energy was discovered and by harnessing this energy one could become what was formally thought to be impossible Through valuable research systems were formed to train the energies; the psychics, who trained in their mental powers, the mechanics, who relied on their technology, the martial artists who relied on themselves and the hosts who sealed certain things that could only be classified as mythical and used their powers in combat.

Jack was an orphan who was one day dropped here on the Jubbelery hub in front  of the orphanage with no note whatsoever. The only thing that stood out was the tattoo that was on his chest.
Jack from a young age had always had dreams of exploring the vast seas, he wanted to become a brave adventurer he wanted to sail the uncharted seas he wanted to do what no other had done before he wanted to find The New Dawn. 
As expected the first time he spoke his dreams out loud all he gained was the mockery of everyone no one thought he could do it but he never gave up and today... today was the day he finally set out to sea.
Jack was 19 this year and had finally decided to begin his journey. 
Jack had been eyeing a ship that belonged to a group of adventures. The ship was a common model made with cheap steel it had a two thrusters behind hit with a few canons by the side.
Ships had changed so much compared to the period before judgement. the no longer were simple but transformed so much, built for more speed and strength.
Jack watched the ship carefully, he knew vey well that very soon the adventurers would arrive and set of into the seas and this was his last chance to stow away on the ship. Jack turned to the Jubbelery hub one last time, taking in the sight of the place that used to be his home knowing very well that this might be the last time he saw his home.
Jack steeled his heart and climbed onto some cargo and began to travel atop the cargo getting closer to the ship. He got to the edge of the cargo taking in deep breaths he moved back and started with a running start before jumping and rolling on the deck.
As he made it on to the ship he held his breath remaining silent but after a few seconds with nothing happening Jack let out a sigh of relief, most ships came with their personal A.Is and he had thought this ship had one as well but luckily it seemed that the adventurers who owned this ship were of the bottom ranks and could not afford them.
At this moment, Jack heard words and laughter alongside some footsteps he knew the adventurers were returning and he had to hide quickly. He searched the ship quickly but most of the doors were locked finally he managed to open a door which led down to a place with had some thermostat that allowed the entire room to maintain a constant cool temperature allowing him to see his breath he quickly fond an empty barrel and closed himself in.
The barrel had a hole in its side looking through the hole he saw through a window and saw the docks, the cargo at the side was slowly getting father away and soon he could see a bright light and after he actually saw the Jubbelery hub the place he spent 19 years of his life was now behind him.
soon he could hear a low rumble and the ship began to speed away, at this point Jack knew his journey had just began.

In the year 2040 an event historians refer to as the unification happened. The ice capes melted and an asteroid fell from the sky and all the lands returned to the ocean the land was truly unified with the seas.

The masses referred to that day as Judgement day.

Billions of lives were lost, technological advancements were reduced to nil. Man was forced to move from the land unto floating platforms where we lived.

Surviving mostly on artificial crops. the life forms we have the bare few we managed to scavenge.

Mankind has entered a new era.

But a great scientist in the year 2100 discovered something which drove the entire world insane some where on earth there is the last land. 

we call it the new dawn.

The room was quickly filled with lead and smoke, most of the wall in front of us was blown away with one of the Cyan's ability, giving us no chance to fight back. Renae quickly disappeared before I could even look at her. Nina used her fortification and took cover near the stairs. Kai was nowhere to be seen and as for me, I used my ability to analyze our assailants to plan our escape. I could hear a lot of screams outside but I assumed Kai was enjoying himself here. Most of our assailants were mercenaries and were amateurs at best.
I fortified myself with about a quarter of my energy and walked straight into the crossfire. I pulled out Berettas but as soon as I took my aim, the noise faded in an instant and all movements became still. I walked out the house with my knife at ready and a Beretta in the other hand. Nina followed close behind, she still kept up her fortification but pulled out her M4 out too. I stepped out through the rubble from the blown wall and found myself staring at what seemed like a bloodless massacre. Kai's work was evident but I looked up at Renae in free fall from at least 1000 meters high and disappearing midway. 'It has been a while since I saw her getting a bit serious' Nina said as she put her gun away. 'Small fry, boss' Kai sheathed his knives as he said in disappointment. 'That was hardly a warm up but I guess it is only fair for amateurs' Renae chimed in as she appeared beside Kai. We started towards our destination as soon as we were together again, 'Try and leave some fun for me next time, will you' I commented as we disappeared into the shadow.
We bounced off the rooftops and stayed out the scout's eyes, took a detour every time we had to confront someone to cover our tracks. The Gale was mostly in peace but in its darkest alleys was the truth behind it. Most of the renounced Cyan are now homeless but it's not just Cyan but humans too. 'Ryan, something feels off about this' Renae spoke directly into my mind, yes it is one of her abilities as a psychic, it is also how she knocked all those soldiers out cold back at the house. 'What is it, Renae?' I asked her. Kai and Nina seemed to pay no attention to us, so it meant she was only talking to me. 'They are too laidback, Ryan. Kai, I can understand but Nina is way too silent'. I took a second to process this but, 'Jason has been compromised, Renae. My guess is an energy duel by Theo'. She gave me a concerned look as I was saying it. 'Even if that was the case, it is still pretty suspicious. Nina disappeared for a few weeks after Jason was caught. I just have a really bad feeling'. Ending with that, she cut off the link and opened a portal right in front of us. Without any hesitation, we all jumped in and fled the urban area.
From the rooftops, we ended up traversing across the uncharted areas of the western Gale. Most of the wildlife was lost  in the war but life is pretty stubborn in my own words. The life either evolved or took a step back but it still did go on. Basically, the felines and canines being already pretty average in their overall skills, attained a few abilities similar to the Cyan, although, most of the domestic breeds went extinct. All of the birds went extinct along with the insects, even the most resilient ones. Obviously, reptiles evolved more but this time they got bigger again rather than shrink again. The aquatic life turned into a living nightmare, adding another reason to make the oceans impassable. A few were successful in taming a few of these beasts, but most were untamable cause of their tentative aggression. 
The western Gale was left uncharted as it is the natural habitat. Kai and Renae tamed a pack of blood wolves back when they were part of The Order. Nina raised an ice dragon before the rebellion and hid her here for safety. So we rode on the wolves while Nina's dragon ate up any small ones in our path. The western Gale is home for three of the most fearsome beasts that were recorded in the present world, each ruling over their own domain. The leviathan ruled the seas, a phoenix ruled over the skies, while the land was taken over by a basilisk after it killed a black lion.
We were taking the long route through here to reach the Capitol, while we kept away from the habitats of these emperors. 'It's leviathan territory up ahead, boss. Nina, pull back your buddy, dragons agitate nearly everything in these areas' Kai took the command from since he knew the area better. 'The Order was supposed to be keeping it busy, Kai. Why are you getting so tensed?' Renae was getting a bit concerned. 'The Order's forces were already wiped out, Renae. Leviathan and the Basilisk teamed up. It is weird but the phoenix is not even fighting the leviathan when it's flying out the water anymore. This whole area is messed up at present' Kai was really serious about it 'The Order had tried to take out the emperors since their scouts have been taken out a few years ago. If it's been this long, there must be something big going on with them' I interrupted him while I thought about what could have gone wrong.
Nina hopped of her wolf and was running towards her dragon that was slowly descending close to her. 'I'll take the roundabout route with her and meet you at the outskirts guys' with that she leaped over on her dragon and soared away into the sky. The trees on either side turned a shade of green to gold gradient. It was not just the Fauna that evolved but the Flora as well. The plant life near the water was a shade of purple to gold while those far from the water were greener and less gold. The change in the color meant we were getting closer to the seas, meaning that leviathan was not far anymore. Nina flew towards the basilisk's lair but she would be safe if she flies high enough. Soon, we were coursing through wilder tracks with the occasional wyvern or a horde of bony hyenas to pass our time with. I could taste the salt in the air and the cold sea breeze sent a chill up my spine. The sun was nearly set by the time we reached our campsite, Nina probably reached our outer base near the capitol by now. It was the twilight hour by the time we realized the sounds that we could hear faintly were the Order fighting leviathan. The struggle continued through the darkness of the night, making me anxious about the current situation of the Gale.
It was around midnight when it started to get a bit brighter and hotter. At first, I thought it was my imagination but as it came closer to us, it was evident it was real. Kai sprang out of his tent in an instant with his face all frozen with horror. Renae walked up beside me and held my hand. 'Things are about to get messy huh. Think we should retreat?' she tightened her grip as she asked me this. I was hoping it was something else but the way these two acted made sure of it. 'Let's take cover and see how this ends, for now. I have a feeling something big is about to go down'. We put out the fire and packed up everything. Kai heightened his senses using his ability while Renae formed a link to all our senses. I scattered my energy all around us to use it as a sensor and also to allow them to use their abilities better. As soon as we hunkered down, a flock of firebirds flew past us towards leviathan's territory, disrupting the silence of the night with their shrieks and lighting up the sky in shades of pink and yellow. The brief silence after they were gone sent a chill down my spine but the thought of what comes after was even more terrifying. The third emperor, the phoenix dived down from the sky in all her magnificence, the heat emanating from the flames around her wings was enough for a normal human to fall unconscious. Her tail feathers, swayed by the wind were so beautiful yet they carried a certain sense of danger. As she closed on us, she withdrew her wings and sped up midair spiraling straight towards us. I concentrated my energy over ourselves in a desperate attempt to shield us from the scorching heat and the potential impact. All three of us were indefinitely terrified and on the verge of despair but there wasn't really anything we could do about it. Renae cut off the link to stop us from falling into despair and with that we prepared ourselves for the worst and awaited our fate to take its course.

A post apocalyptic world with uncharted risks and dangers. a group of young adults striving for their own justice. Although the newfound abilities and evolution of different beings just levelled up this game of life a bit.
